At the Allison Inn & Spa, Siletz Chef Jack Strong Explores Native Food | Eater Portland

"At the Embarcadero in Newport, I followed Strong's early culinary steps: as a high-school job-shadow and early employee he learned to break down fish, sourcing cod directly from bayfront fishers and gaining formative hands-on seafood experience." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Great place to stay on the waurf !! Everything is right there. The rooms were great. Nicely updated kitchen and updated tv's throughout. The only negative is when I went to get the towels for my kids to use pool and spa. I was told i could not have any towels until management approved it. So my kids are all waiting at pool in there swim trunks for approximately 39 mins while the front desk people tried to get towel approval..... strangest thing I have ever dealt with !!!

Kevin and Jessie made our stay much better because they offered to change our room. The marina side had a strong fish smell. There was a difficulty booking the free boat crabbing although the day had been changed and they couldn’t get me a email to register. Excellent location, and staff is friendly. Would recommend

Had a great time with a beautiful room and great view of the bay. It was located so close to the historic Bayfront and we could hear the sea lions all the time.. the room service people kept things so clean and went above and beyond in making our 3 week stay feel more like home

Awesome stay for three days to celebrate our 59th wedding anniversary. Room was great (excellent views of the Bay Bridge and Marina), service was the best we have had in a long time (special thanks to Jake) and pricing was very competitive. Within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. And, of course, a visit to see the Sea Lions barking was a kick.

This is excellent hotel. Spacious rooms. Great view and great staff. I had a condo with separate bedroom and living room. Full kitchen with refrigerator, stove and microwave. Staff went out of the way to assist when I had a question. Great for anyone

We always come to this place every year with my family and had a good service all the time, just kinda disappointed this year visit, I did call twice before the day of my reservation to make sure what kind of room we’re having, but it’s not the room we expected when we arrived, but it’s all good because the front desk guy is really amazing, couple concerns about the room, we need to ask for them to unlock the other door to be connected to the other room, we waited long! Shampoo and tissue was empty! No privacy at night because when we arrived all the blinds were open and it’s broken and can’t close it during the night, some of the plug is not working too! I let the front desk about it the next day and she’s rude while I’m talking to her she’s interrupting me and giving me attitude, I ask her if we can extend another night but it’s already booked for another guest, she offer another hour of stay which is until 12 pm. At 11 pm none of my card keys are working anymore and we’re not able to get our stuffs by the dock. We never have this kind of service every time we’re spending time here just now!

For almost $300 a night, this place just doesn’t add up. The bed was uncomfortable, the whole property feels pretty rundown, and honestly it’s more like a 2.5-star experience dressed up with a resort price tag. That said, it was August on the coast, so I guess you pay the tax. The one redeeming factor? The outdoor terrace with a view was lovely. Bonus for being dog friendly.

The entire property is huge and gorgeous! Our king unit overlooking the marina was perfect! The laundry facilities were wonderful to have but do note they close them at 10pm and there are no signs telling you this. We had to call the front desk to find out when our key didnt work to let us in to move our clothes from the washer to the dryer. They did send someone to help us but we had to leave our clothes overnight, which was not a big deal.
