Eyebrow-Raising Great Sex Brewing May Come to Portland | Eater Portland

"Known for its long brunch lines, Mother’s Bistro & Bar has moved to the much roomier Embassy Suites hotel and will begin serving diners there on Monday, January 21; Chef Lisa Schroeder led a parade of staff and loyal customers from the original location to the new one, complete with a marching band." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Google
I recently took a trip from the DC area to Boston with a final stop in Portland Maine. We chose this hotel specifically because it had wonderful reviews and convenient location next to the airport. After dropping off our car rental at the airport, we walked to the hotel which only took a few minutes. I’ve stayed at Embassy Suites before, and this location was quite similar in terms of the attention to detail and the overall ambiance of the building and rooms. The bed and pillows felt wonderful and there was a nice walk-in shower with a glass door. The suite area also had a couch and mounted TV with plenty of space to get work done. Rosemarie, one of the hotel employees, was wonderful in making sure all my needs were taken care of. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the area.

Google
I had a positive experience at this hotel. I stayed for 2 days and have no complaints. It was clean all around, modern. The staff at the reception was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety and dinner was good as well. I would come back for another stay.

Google
GREAT hotel!!!! We were treated by the kindest lady (Sunny) when we checked into the hotel!!! She had the best personality and should be commended by this hotel. Not everyone at the front desk was as personable as she was! ||The room was quiet. Shockingly, we did not hear even one plane our entire stay! The beds and pillows were great! They have a free shuttle that will take you to the downtown area. Breakfast was superb like most Embassy Suites. ||Highly recommend this property over the downtown/Riverfront hotels!!

Google
Our company uses this hotel and I recently stayed there a few weeks ago for business. The meeting room is spacious, and the staff is simply excellent… Rosemarie and Sonny at the front desk are simply amazing , Super friendly and always enjoy to see upon arrival.. The driver of the shuttle they are both super friendly and most helpful as well. I would love to point out Jolene and.Yuli.. they both take care of our meeting room, our team and everyone involved during our complete stay they check on me constantly and just make sure everything is perfect. The staff is the reason companies and guest returned to the property. Great location next to the airport easy to get downtown and surrounding neighborhoods five stars all the way every single one of these employees, including housekeeping are simply wonderful every time….

Google
Great experience as it was my first time here. I arrived a few hours earlier than I expected to, and they were very accommodating and got me into my room immediately. Although you are across the street from the airport, I did not hear any plane traffic at all from my room, and I faced the airport. There are lots of restaurants in the area, and you are literally across the street from the airport. I dropped my car off after grabbing dinner and was picked up by the embassy suite shuttle, and brought back to the hotel. The next morning, I used them to take me back to the airport. They had a great breakfast, and a really good evening reception. I will definitely be staying here again!!

Google
Beautiful, newly renovated hotel. My suite was very clean and quiet. The complimentary breakfast was great. I especially liked that they had gluten free bagels, gluten free blueberry muffins, almond milk and oat milk. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Google
This hotel is very nice and very clean and staff professional. Made mistake of flying out on a Sun so Sat night was double what we normally pay. I thought being a yrly customer they could cut us a break but no…..|A very strange thing that noone can explain is that you cannot use stairwell from lobby! You can of course take elevator. I use stairs everywhere I go so here I have to go outside building to get in/ out of stairwell😕

Google
A lot of this hotel is your typical Embassy Suites. A few negatives probably put this hotel at or below average. Plusses: Evening happy hour, good breakfast, right by the airport. Negatives: too easy to hear our neighbors through the connecting room (avoid!), not nearly enough seating for the evening happy hour which is too bad. The pool you have to walk through the gym is weird. Overall we had a good one night stay pre-flight and it's right by the airport.

Yelp
I decided to take a spur the moment mother daughter trip to Portland with my 2.5 year old for the night. We wanted to find a place to stay close to the children's museum. And came across Embassy Suites. Decent price and location was great! The best was comfortable. Nice to have a mini fridge and microwave! Got some snacks and drinks to bring up after we checked in which was a nice extra perk! We used the pool which was nice and key card access based. Had a nice fully equipped gym as well! The bathroom was nice my only issue is the door to the toilet and shower made it seem very cramped. Other than that I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Traveled for work and this place is incredible! The rooms are spacious, great breakfast and even a great happy hour in the lobby. Shuttle to the airport and free parking for travelers too.

Yelp
experience was fine until check out, was not told about parking fees which is not right, sorry but I will not be going back, I don't care for surprises

Yelp
Sebastian was the friendliest and most helpful during my stay here. I have already booked again for next year. He referred me to some great local activities and restaurants. That did not disappoint Their amenities were top tier love the happy hour and the snack board they provide (a great add on). Their made to order breakfast did not disappoint. Th hotel is really great and conveniently near the airport. I did read some reviews saying they couldn't hear the planes. I was in the top floor so I did hear the planes when they took off early in the morning, however I am a light sleeper. Nonetheless I have booked again for next year!

Janet W.

Yelp
Enjoyed staying at the hotel in Portland, ME. It was conveniently located to the airport but , surprisingly we weren't bothered be the noise! They have a nice daily happy hour and the rooms were clean. One downfall in our room, anyway, was the bathtub was very slippery. They have plenty of grab bars to hold on to. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We would stay there again.
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
I thought this place was spectacular. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and sufficiently sized. The breakfast with made to order omelettes was insanely good. The location suited my needs as it was directly next to the airport. The bartender was nice and really good. Her name was Laura or Laurie. Something like that. But either way. She was great. I will definitely book here again next time I am in town.

Yelp
Located right next to the airport, like 3 minutes away. Super friendly front desk staff! Clean rooms, spacious enough for four. Pool was warm, awesome fitness center! Complimentary evening drinks and breakfast. Good choice for the first night!

Ashlie C.

Yelp
Beautiful, next to the airport for convenience. Can't hear anything! Classy room with en suite!

Yelp
This is our go-to hotel when in Portland. Staff is always pleasant, the rooms are clean, and the showers have some of the best water pressure of any hotel at which I've stayed. Complementary breakfast is hardy, with several hot food options like eggs, bacon, and sausages, potatoes, and French toast or pancakes. Lots of breads and bagels, fresh fruit, and yogurt, and an omelette and fresh egg station.

Yelp
I'm (relatively) local but had a super early flight out of PWM. Flying back at the end of the week - into Boston. Didn't want to leave my car at the airport and it was too early to expect anyone to bring me. Long story short, I stayed here. Front desk at check in was was efficient, professional and funny. Lovely evening reception with two free drinks, chips and salsa. Dinner was a yummy dinner salad with steak. My room was quiet and comfortable. I thought it was unusual the airport shuttle doesn't have hours. "One van. One driver." You show up and if it's there, you go. First come, first serve. If the van isn't there, you wait or can walk. It all worked out...and the shuttle driver was very nice, even though it was before 5 am. I've stayed at the airport Hilton before but didn't even know about this hotel. It will be my go to when I find myself in this situation, going forward.

Yelp
While visiting the East Coast recently, my wife and I stayed a few nights at the Portland Embassy Suites in Maine. By far, this was the most impressive accommodations of any Embassy Suites we have stayed at thus far. The hotel seemed to be brand new though the front desk said it has been around for 30 years. The halls, walls and rooms were all kept up very nicely and maintained with careful attention. As always, we are very impressed with the quality breakfast served and especially the chef and breakfast staff do an outstanding job keeping food items stocked and clean...thank you to the great breakfast staff! The only question I have is that we did not know you can bring your dog into the hotel rooms. There were two separate occasions where this happened near our room. Are such rooms deemed pets only or is this common practice. It did not deter our stay in any way...We certainly will be back again. Charles and Leyla Acosta Lakewood, California

Yelp
Very pretty hotel... has very spectacular views of the airport... Check in at the hotel staff was very friendly polite they respected my request of being on the top floor away from the elevator. I didn't realize the room was really that dingy and dirty until I was already in it and it was kind of late but change over rooms.... It was the morning of my checkout that I didn't realize that I didn't have any large towels or even face cloths. Just mediums size hand towels. Also while I was taking a shower there was a sliver of soap left in there from previous people. And then in the living area I noticed that one of the end tables had stickiness all over it like somebody ate there before me. It's very disappointed me in the morning that I figured out that my room was kind of dirty that I slept in.. I always try to tell myself though that I've slept at worst people's houses and to relax but it is really dirty that your company pays for a hotel room that wasn't cleaned or restocked.

Yelp
Easy to navigate to the hotel using GPS. The hotel was very clean inside and out. The couch was comfortable to sit on and the fold out couch was comfortable as well. The breakfast, that's include, was also delicious. They had made to order eggs and a hot breakfast buffet

Yelp
Spotless rooms, easy check in, helpful and friendly staff. We had everything we needed for a last minute stay! They even have pet friendly rooms which is nice. It was a short 10 minute drive to downtown Portland with the shops and restaurants, and the stay was under half of what we would have spent to be in downtown portland. We would stay here again!

Yelp
We stayed here for the 2nd time recently and both experiences have been very pleasant. All the staff members are welcoming and friendly. The complimentary breakfast is fantastic with varieties of hot and cold items. Iced coffee machine available with several flavored syrup. Be sure to bring small bills to tip the made-to-order omelette station, well deserved. Each night from 5-6:30pm "snacks" were available along with drinks. Which were tortilla chips and salsa, chips and dips, and/or fresh veggies and dip, with water or soda (there could more/different options but these were available during our stay). The room is decent. The bedroom and the toilet section are a little too small for me but I so appreciate the separation of the living room and bedroom along with having two TVs. We will definitely stay here again during our visit in Portland.

Yelp
My family and I visited Portland and stayed at the Embassy Suites for two nights. We did not want to stay in the immediate downtown area but wanted to stay within driving distance (about 15 minutes). Almost all of the hotels in the downtown area charge for parking but it is free here which was a huge plus. We booked our reservation with the concierge, Adam who was very helpful. Because of the proximity to the Portland Jetport, we were a bit concerned about the noise from the planes but Adam reassured us that the hotel is pretty soundproof. My family finally met Adam in person when we checked in and throughout our stay, he was extremely accomodating and full of personality. Upon check-in, we were given a punch card that entitled our group to 2 free drinks (select beer, wine, and a few mixed cocktails) and a snack (chips/salsa, veggies/fruit plate) each night during happy hour. As far as the facilities, the rooms were very clean and a good size. My only complaint is that the bedroom area is a bit tight to fit luggage so we had to keep most of our luggage in the living room area. I used the fitness center one morning and the equipment was well-maintained and clean. There was also a water station and towels to dry off. Breakfast was awesome and one of the highlights of our stay. There was a made-to-order omelet bar where you could customize your omelet and daily specials. Make sure to bring some cash to tip the omelet chef and the hard-working staff. There were also the usual hot rotating stations, cereal, fruit, yogurt, coffee, and tea. For those traveling, they offer shuttle services to the airport. Definitely would stay here again if visiting and would recommend this hotel to anyone passing through the area.

Yelp
Ended up adding an additional night to our two nights because we enjoyed our stay so much. The staff was awesome. Thanks to Adam at the front desk for all the suggestions for food. Thank you Peter the bartender for your kindness and laughs. The suite was awesome, the bed was comfortable.

Yelp
Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland was a TOP NOTCH hotel! From the moment I checked in to the moment I checked out was pure class. The customer service exceeded by expectations. it was an easy check-in with a super descriptive briefing of the accommodations. There's a snack time in the evening with finger food and drinks on the house. There's also a really nice breakfast in the morning! The omelet bar was on point. It was delicious! There are also plenty options to choose from. Again, pure class! The room was clean and every spacious. I love how the living room was separated from the bedroom. This is a great place for an extended stay if you're in the area. There are also a lot of parking around the building. Also, easy access to the airport next door. I look forward to staying here again. It's by far one of the best hotel experiences that I've had. Especially, for the price point.

M J.

Yelp
If you don't have a problem with light coming in the morning, then you will love this hotel. So ignore the rest of this review: PROS 1) World-class front desk - extremely nice, smart and fast 2) World-class breakfast - it doesn't get better than this 3) Spacious parking lot - plenty of room 4) Lovely trees surround entire hotel CONS: 1) TOO MUCH LIGHT coming in. SEE PICTURE. This is the fault of management. They could easily put up better dark curtains. This is why I can't stay at Embassy Suites any further. It's like Hilton has given up on this brand to focus on Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites. I've stay at multiple Embassy Suites and they're all terrible: Old curtains; defunct AC's; no fridge or microwaves, etc. This is the best Embassy Suites, but the non-existent dark curtains is truly bad for someone who needs a dark room

Yelp
3.5 stars Conveniently located right next to the airport with breakfast starting at 4:30 am.... Unfortunately, there was also no evening reception die to covid. The rooms were nice and spacious with two TV's and separate living/ bed room areas (relatively clean too minus the long, dark hairs found on the shower wall and a something greasy on one of the TV screens). One downside was the fire "drill" just after 8 pm and 5 fire trucks showed up. It's great that they care so much about safety, but not so great that they put older folks in walkers and wheelchairs in floors above 5 (two men helped carry down an older man down 6 flights of stairs). When we got back in, there was a pre-typed letter apologizing for the "unexpected" delay. Free coffee was provided 24/7 in the lobby. Breakfast was an okay selection (hotel eggs, sausage, and French toast, granola bars, yogurt, and a few different pastries), but I sure do miss the Embassy omelettes. 2021 #76

Yelp
Perfect hotel for a close stay to the airport! We stayed here on a quick trip to Bar Harbor from Indiana. It is probably walking distance to the airport but we drove a rental. Don't let the closeness scare you away... we heard nothing even though planes were coming and going all night! We were thrilled with our room. The beds were super comfy and the sheets so soft. Plenty of pillows per bed put it over the top. The bathroom was a little small but very clean and updated. Fluffy towels were great. Though COVID has affected the traditional breakfast at Embassy Suites it was still very nice. We had all the continental favorites and prepared hot breakfast sandwiches. The breakfast servers went out of their way to make you feel welcome and get you all you needed. Their friendliness was a real treat! They asked about our trip and offered suggestions. Quite helpful! The parking lot gets full and it can be hard to find a space. However it is well lit and nicely paved. Spaces are a little tight but not too bad. We did not use the outside spaces on this trip but they looked nice. Outdoor fire pit and seating, small pool. Check in was very easy. A small convenience area offered many options. Lobby had a cozy fireplace and a pull through covered for unloading. I would pick this place again over others I saw in the area. Downtown Portland is only a few minutes drive. It is a great historic area filled with shops and restaurants. My top three things to see Eastern Cemetery, the Wadsworth-Longfellow House and Holy Donut.

Ron M.

Yelp
One of the best hotels I've been in a while, friendly upon arrival. Clean rooms with a large bathroom. Breakfast was excellent with omelets and other hot food. Will be coming back in February

D H.

Yelp
Awesome place to stay overnight before 6 am flight. Awesome staff, easy free parking, 4 minute walk after dropping off rental car. Airport shuttle any time you want... if you happen to just miss the shuttle it only takes about 5 minutes for it to come back around. Very clean and nice, 2 room suite great deal. Coming the evening before the flight so worth it!

Tom H.

Yelp
A short stay here for two nights with my family while on vacation. My wife booked our reservation with concierge Adam and when we arrived we got to meet him. He was very accommodating and a pleasure to talk to. He made some recommendations about restaurants in the area that were spot on. ( Not tourist traps) The hotel is clean and well maintained. Breakfast is included with a made to order omelet chef who is amazing. This hotel is a keeper and we will definitely stay there again. A big shout out to Adam the omelet chef whose name I unfortunately did not get and the entire staff. Free parking and a short drive to the waterfront action for a decent price.

Yelp
We had an awesome stay at the Embassy Suites! Our room was super clean and I loved their policy of no cleaning staff entering your room during your stay, which made for safer conditions for us as well as the staff. We opted for one of the smaller rooms with a queen-size bed because it had a bathtub and were delighted when we saw just how huge the room was! There was a totally separate living room space with a couch, TV, desk, and mini-kitchenette, which had its own sink, coffee maker, microwave, and mini fridge. The bedroom had its own TV and still felt very spacious. Even with Covid restrictions, the hotel still made a huge effort to provide a nice complimentary breakfast every morning. They have hot ready-made breakfast sandwiches (with egg, sausage, and cheese), coffee, and an assortment of continental breakfast items, like yogurt, fruit, juices, granola bars etc. I also appreciated that their pool and gym were still available during this time and I loved how we could sign it out for 30 min blocks and have the gym / pool completely to ourselves. I was a little concerned about the noise considering it's right next to the airport but that was not a problem at all... I slept like a baby! Also, the location is great since they had free parking and it was only about a 10 min drive into downtown Portland. The staff were super friendly and accommodating (even allowed us to have a late check-out!) and I cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Embassy Suites for a few days and we had a great time! It's hard these days to find a hotel that's safely offering amenities like gym and pool access, but this hotel is making it happen. We were able to sign out both the pool and gym for thirty minute slots, resulting in private workouts and swims that felt very safe (a policy that I actually wouldn't mind seeing in a post-COVID world either). The free breakfast in the mornings was substantial, including coffee and hot sandwiches along a variety of continental breakfast items (yogurt, fruit, granola bars, etc). Unfortunately there was no more managers reception and the restaurant is closed, but there's a microwave and fridge in the rooms, so getting takeout delivered and having food around was very easy. Throw in the free parking and huge rooms and this hotel stay was definitely a winner. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Cranky people work here. We have stayed here twice. The first time it was the bartender the second time it was the lady at the front desk. Not sure what makes them so cranky but don't ask questions. The hotel is clean and the beds are okay. For the cost, it works. They don't care if you are a Hilton Honors member and don't give you free water bottles.
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
We had a great stay at this location, I'd give the hotel itself 5 out of 5. The restaurant for dinner was a whole different story, not very allergy friendly - service was lacking after a significant error with said allergy. Everything else was great. Complimentary breakfast impressive, fitness center and pool super clean! The suit itself also so nice!
google avatar

Annette A.

Yelp
This hotel was great! The rooms were so nice, clean, spacious and comfortable. I wished the rest of my trip was in this hotel . If you go to Portland you cannot go wrong at this hotel. Even in Covid they had got breakfast served to you as a walk up and order from staff.
google avatar

Doris Y.

Yelp
We have a puppy so we paid a little extra for the dog friendly room. Everything is very high standard to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. My favorite part is their happy hour at their outdoor seating area - with endless snacks and alcohol.
google avatar

Yelp
Had higher expectations after a previous stay but due to covid everything that made embassy suites stand out from other hotels was gone. What drew me to this hotel compared to the other Portland hotels was the free parking, made to order breakfast and complimentary cocktail hours. It's about a 10 minute drive from town and even though it's right next to the airport you couldn't hear the planes. During this time, when we got to our room there was a Clorox sticker on the door to show that it's been sanitized. It's a two room suite with a mini fridge, sofa bed and two queen sized beds. There's no house cleaning service cause of covid so they had a garbage to dispose of trash next to the ice machine and a garbage next to the elevator for the dirty towels. In order to use the pool or exercise rooms you had to sign up in time slots. Their made to order breakfast was what kept me coming back to embassy suites in general. This time there was a variety of measly options similar to a schools lunch. There were granola bars, fruit cups, boxes juice, oatmeal and fruit. They do not provide hot water so one would have to use the coffee machine in the room to get some. Maybe if they had time slots for breakfast so they can do made to order.

Susan M.

Yelp
What a great location to stay while visiting Portland. The staff was amazing, and a special thanks to Adam for taking such good care of us. I have been here several times and will continue to return. Also they have a great bar and food downstairs which makes everything so convenient.

Yelp
I really really love this Embassy Suites and here's why: 1. The rooms are clean and comfortable. All suites with a TV in both rooms, a thoughtful work station, unlimited hot water and very comfortable beds 2. Every night from 5:30-7:30 they have a "Managers reception" in the lobby with complimentary snacks, beer and wine 3. They have a large, clean pool and a big and beautiful hot tub that easily seats 6 adults with plenty of room. They also have workout equipment with tv screens, showers and saunas in their health club 4. There is a complimentary breakfast every morning that FAR surpasses any other hotel "breakfast" I have ever experienced. In addition to all of the usual offerings (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, a waffle machine, an oatmeal station etc...), there is a made to order omelet station 5. They offer a free shuttle ride to the Portland Jetport 6. On Monday nights, there is live music in the lobby. Wonderful! 7. The staff is very friendly and check in-check out is a breeze I always suggest this place to friends and family coming from out of town and have even been known to book a room myself for a mid-winter "staycation". Excellent!

Yelp
Professional staff stood out for this visit as well as the tasteful furnishings. This was smaller than most E Ste even the area for breakfast and reception was way smaller in scale, not the typical enclosed 360 quadrangle atrium, it was more like a 90 obtuse angle shape but still very nice and had clean lines. On the fence on the Breakfast buffet and reception, which were typical in every other Embassy Suite franchise but I thought it could be better. On second breakfast, my made to order omelette with just tomatoes & spinach was very good so a compliment to the chef. Bartender was robotic or indifferent. My hubby always prefer E Ste over other Hilton brand. I wanted to stay at either HGI or Hampton Inn downtown but was outweighed with the promise of breakfast on spot and reception. But next time i'm in P, ME i'd definitely stay downtown. My gratitude to the maid service, I only asked to vacuum the floors, was very pleasant and deserved the tip, always! Overall experience was very good so a 4*!

Becky R.

Yelp
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. We were greeted at the front desk by Adam. He was so friendly and helpful. Annette at the bar was full of personality, and made our evening fun. The rest of the staff, from housekeeping to the restaurant staff were also amazing. Very clean with all the extras. Wonderful hotel.

Yelp
Visited here last weekend for a bachelorette party!! We had reserved a 2 bedroom suite for 5 ladies, it was amazing! The check in process was easy and before we knew we were in our room. So much space and very clean. As you walked in you look to the right a bedroom with its own bathroom you look to the left another bedroom with its own bathroom and straight ahead a wonderfully sized living room with a huge table, counter with sink, microwave, fridge a desk with a tv. Also in that room a couch that pulled out to a bed if needed. Being that close to the jet port we were certain we'd be able to hear the planes but guess what...I had no idea, so quiet. We used the pool and hot tub both were so nice and relaxing. The beds and pillows were super comfy and the next morning a complimentary breakfast, delish. Only thing missing was a waffle maker! Would definitely recommend staying here.

Yelp
Great little hotel next to the Portland airport. Like all Embassy's you get a couple free drinks 5:30-7:30, and small snacks: cheese cubes, pretzels, chips, etc. The shuttle runs like clockwork, rooms are clean, the gym is awesome! Weights, machines, even a steam room! The restaurant, Waypoint, is shockingly good food. At least I think so, I've ate the Casco Bay Cioppino every single time I've been here. Quality seafood in a tomato broth. It's warm and Maine is cold. It's perfect! The staff are always far above average in welcoming you at check-in and beg to go the extra mile! As a Diamond member I get my fair share of Hilton's, and this is what the Honors program is all about!

Yelp
This place was absolutely fantastic. It was a quick stay as my husband and I drove up from CT after work one night. We arrived around 9:45 PM on a Friday night and were very hungry. Check in was a breeze. The woman helping us was very helpful, kind, and energetic. We asked for a few suggestions of where to eat since the hotel restaurant was closed already for food. She gave us an expansive list and a separate pamphlet with restaurants, bars, and breweries. It was very helpful. Obviously not much was open late at night but we were able to find one place relatively close by and open till 1 AM. We really appreciated the care and effort that was put into that. The lobby was very nice and very well maintained. When we got to our suite it was very clean and nicely made up. Definitely a good place for multiple people or families to stay at! The living room area with the pullout couch was large and comfortable. There was a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, etc. The bedroom was also very well maintained and right outside of the bathroom area. The decor was a little outdated, but other than that it was a great stay and we slept well through the night! In the morning there was free continental breakfast. It looked amazing. We could only grab something quick because we were in a rush but the potatoes and pancake I had were very good and my husband was very satisfied with his meal as well. There was even a chef making omelettes to order which I wish we could have done! Usually I'm not too fond of continental breakfasts but this one was very good!

Stayed in a suite. Quiet experience. Pretty sure those are full size beds, not queens. Hotel is a little dated. Fixtures older, some caulking missing. Stains on shower base and grout. Bathroom very small. Room mostly clean. Refrigerator was not cleaned out from last guest. Keurig dirty. Stains on bedsheets. No ability to stream Netflix or other platforms to tv. Pillows not great. Smell of chlorine in lobby, fitness room and pool area from the pool is overpowering. Pool is not swimmable. Tinted green water with gel coating on top from too many chemicals. Means they clean it by dumping stuff in, not the right way. Gross. Breakfast is better than most places but bacon was cooked to burnt and eggs are eggs from a bag. They have an omelet station but it's tucked around the corner so we didn't even see it. Front desk staff still wearing masks (hello?) and you can't understand a word they say. They basically whisper in to them. I mean speak up if you're still playing that game. Sadly all this and they are still better than most but we are always looking for a really nice stay and wouldn't choose here again.

Yelp
I just spent three nights at the hotel. I picked it because I am a committed lap swimmer and they have an indoor pool. It was so murky that it was challenging to see approaching each end. I talked to the head of maintenance and two people at the desk and nobody seemed to care. They just told me to be assured it was chemically safe. I almost bonked my head multiple times and flip turns were out of the question. My son lives in Portland and I will be returning to the area often to visit him, but I will have to find a hotel with a pool that has reasonably clear water. I have swam in hotel pools all over the world and never encountered this problem before. On a positive note, the breakfast was good and the room was fine.

Yelp
Wow, I was so impressed with our stay at the Embassy. From check in with Joe who was absolutely the best to check out we had a remarkable time. The room was immaculate and so comfortable. I do not sleep well so the living room area was great. Could roam in there and not keep my husband awake. We had a large group with us eight additional families. We got to the restaurant a bit late and the waitresses were great. They never skipped a beat. The food was delicious and the drinks were even better. The bartender was friendly and very efficient. Another great part of our stay was the hot breakfast. There was an omelette station and an array of other breakfast item. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Yelp
Embassy Suites is my "go to" hotel whenever I travel because of the made to order breakfast and complimentary happy hour. So, I was extremely disappointed that they aren't doing the happy hour. And as for the breakfast, they hand you a hot sandwich in the morning. There is no coffee, tea or water station available throughout the day. I feel they are using covid as an excuse to skimp on services. A few days later I stayed at a Hampton Inn in Bar Harbor. They had a full hot breakfast buffet, plus coffee and water station available all day. When a Hampton Inn is offering more amenities than an Embassy Suites, you know something is wrong. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly. The hotel was clean, but needs a bit of TLC. I won't be staying here again.

Yelp
Came here for the night for my 21st birthday- I haven't even spent the night yet but the service so far has me needing to write a review. We checked in an hour early and they got a room ready for us immediately. Gave my ID and she sees it's my birthday. Went up to the room for a little bit and we get a call that Rosemarie has a gift for me??? Room service comes up and they deliver chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne and a hand written note! How sweet of Rosemarie to take the time out of her busy day to make mine so much better. The bartender offered me a birthday drink, on the house, and is giving great recommendations for bars and dinner. Come stay here if you get the chance!!!

Yelp
Great place to stay for the evening, right on Portland airport property. Front desk gal that checked me in (around 3pm Monday the 17th) was fabulous, so kind and patient. Received a great goody bag for my Hilton membership. Lobby is very nicely done. They have happy hour in the evening and the night I was there, a jazz band that was GREAT! Small perks. Rooms are large with comfortable beds. Very clean. Enjoyed looking at the runway from room. Very quiet property. Free parking. 10-15 min to downtown. Would absolutely stay there again!

Yelp
Staff is very unprofessional and disrespectful. I'm a nurse that lives too far to drive between night shifts so I stay at hotels between shifts. Many hotels accommodate a late checkout so I don't have to pay for another night when I'm going to be leaving at 5pm anyways. My coworker and I booked a room for a couple nights so we could sleep between night shifts. When booking they said that was no problem. When we checked in we mentioned this to the woman at the front desk and she said no problem just let me know that morning when you want a late checkout. The next morning she claimed we never had that conversation and we'd have to checkout at 11am. The manager agreed to a 3:30pm checkout, which was helpful, but I would've been happy to stay somewhere else had I know they couldn't accommodate this. I also would've booked another night had I been informed of this policy, but I was told they could accommodate us so I didn't. At 3:15pm I received a call from the desk checking on if I'd be checking out, I told them I was just gathering my bag and would be out in a few minutes, to which they replied with a threat of "if you're not out by 3:30pm we will send security." When I left the room a few minutes later I passed two staff members and a cleaning staff member who when I turned around were standing outside my door (they didn't realize it was me they passed and were waiting outside my room to kick me out?) I am a professional, a healthcare worker, and was simply trying to find a place to sleep between shifts and was treated like a criminal. I am a Hilton honors member and called them with my complaint, to which I received an email from the manager, Kyle, who said he was happy with the way his manager on duty handled the situation with letting me checkout at 3:30pm and waive the fee. As much as I appreciate this late checkout fee being waived that is not what the issue is. I would've been happy to pay a fee or book another night, but when we checked in she said the hotel could accommodate a late checkout for us so I didn't book another night. That morning when she claimed we never had this conversation I was not offered a fee for late checkout or booking another night because she claimed they were sold out. I respect certain policies are in place, however, the misinformation given and being treated like a criminal is not acceptable and I will not be staying at this establishment again. I hope that in the future the staff can be more respectful to their patrons and that their policies can accommodate healthcare workers and all other professionals that work night shift, as many other hotels we've stayed at do.

Yelp
The management of this location doesn't seem to care to respond to its customers even long term loyal Hilton Honors customers. Very puzzling. I've given up trying and likely go to Hilton Gardens nearby

Yelp
Embassy Suites is one of my favorite hotels and is usually among my top choices when booking a hotel room. This Embassy Suites did not disappoint. Architecturally, this hotel was very different than all of the other Embassy Suites I've stayed in. The others were all designed around a central atrium with rooms ringing the atrium with a balcony running around the outer edge of the atrium. On the 1st floor, the atrium was the location of the "happy hour" and the "free breakfast". This Embassy Suites was designed more like a traditional hotel and did not have the central atrium. Instead - the hotel had more traditional corridors with the rooms being arranged like a standard hotel. While I always liked the traditional central atrium, this arrangement did provide for a quieter environment in the individual rooms without noise radiating up from the atrium. As with other Embassy Suite locations, this one was very clean and well appointed. The staff was very professional, pleasant and helpful. And - as like other Embassy Suites - there was a complimentary afternoon Happy Hour in the lounge. Immediately adjacent to the lounge was an outdoor patio with a fire pit -- a nice place to sit and relax. In the morning, there is a complimentary breakfast with an omelette bar with omelettes (and other eggs) cooked to order. The rest of the breakfast includes a buffet featuring a variety of baked goods, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, yogart and juices. Despite being located adjacent to the Portland Jetport (airport), the hotel was surprisingly quiet. We could watch planes from our room but were never disturbed by noise.

Yelp
This airport Embassy Suites works well with visiting Portland Maine. The major benefit is that this hotel offers a free shuttle service to down town area and airport pick ups

Yelp
When we planned a trip to Portland, Maine in wintertime, we weren't sure where to stay as we didn't know the area, so after looking at reviews, we settled on this hotel. We knew we already liked Embassy Suites breakfasts, so that helped in the decision. This location is right at the Portland Jetport, but don't let that stop you from booking here. It's less than a quarter mile from the rental car exit, but we still didn't hear much airplane traffic during our 5 night stay. It's convenient to downtown Portland (5-10 minutes) and a stone's throw from the Maine Turnpike (I-95). This isn't the Embassy Suites you might remember, with the big atrium, long room with living room in the front, bed in the back. Instead, this modern take has a great room in the lobby where the bar and famous large breakfast and restaurant reside. The room does open to an updated living room with chaise couch, desk, and small counter with microwave, sink, and refrigerator. Move through the bathroom sink area into the two queen beds in the bedroom, or the toilet and shower area. The updated look is great, and the property is well maintained. The common areas are nice, and comfortable as well, which is nice for the evening happy hour with snacks (pretty much the same every night) and beer, wine, and wells free of charge. The breakfast and restaurant area has several tables, or sitting in the lobby is okay too. Breakfast has plentiful options, along with the traditional made to order eggs, served by the awesome Maxx with a "Yoke of the Day" everyday. The parking area was kept pretty clear and safe during the major snowstorm that happened the day after we arrived. I think the only thing strange about this property is the location of the pool, at the far end of the first floor, through the gym. So, you do have to head through the lobby in your suit, which can be awkward. The water is also a bit on the cool side, but we found a neat trick. We put our towels on the lounges next to the window wall, and got out to dry off, finding the heater blows down that window, and onto our towels, making them feel like they are right out of the dryer! All in all, a great hotel in a convenient location to use as a home base for day trips with friendly staff.
