‘Iron Chef’ Alum Morou Ouattara Weaves West African Spice Into NoMa’s Dining Scene - Eater DC

"The Embassy Suites by Hilton in Tysons Corner just completed a huge top-to-bottom renovation in June — its first since opening in 1983. The updated bar serves a 'new' Old Fashioned and snacks such as piping hot pimento cheese and crackers. The brand’s new floating restaurant, E’terie, allows guests to order at the counter and opt to eat in the hotel’s community spaces, take it up to their room, or carryout." - Tierney Plumb

Really nice hotel with beautiful atrium in center which I thought was very different and unique . 1 bedroom room was nice , spacious and bed was so comfortable. Loved the room but they need to pay a little more attention to details like baseboards being wiped down and some doors should be retouched with paint every so often , nothing big for me but should be considered for general upkeep. Breakfast wasn’t awful but I feel like they can add more to their breakfast and cereal selections and items like bacon. Early check in was $50 but not bad . We received 2 complimentary coupons but I couldn’t use them so we weren’t around to use them since bar closes early . Parking was plenty with easy in and out . Location is not awful as under 20 miles to Washington DC area, however when we drive there it took almost 40 minutes to get into the city and at night took us 21 minutes to get back. So keep in mind the traffic when going during the day. It wasn’t worth driving back to hotel in evening so just stood out there until night to avoid traffic . Overall I would definitely recommend.

My only complaint about this hotel is the nightly $75 Incidental Fee that was not mentioned anywhere on the booking site. I know incidental fees are normal, but I have never encounted a nightly fee, only a one time fee. Though it is given back after checkout, having that knowledge upon booking would have been helpful. Other than that, everything else was great! Breakfast was hot and fresh every morning, and my family and I enjoyed the virgin drinks offered during happy hour every night. I have added this hotel to my favorites and will return.

We are a family of 4, who stayed in room 802 for the past weekend. It was a pleasant stay overall with a great breakfast, happy hour, and nice pool and gym. What was terrible was our room. The toilet did not work properly (the flush did not allow water to fill the bowl), which was already reported to the front desk on day 1, but the issue remained unfixed. The bathroom door knob also did not shut. The refrigerator also had its problems with tilting over. I am a Hilton Honors member and have loved all our previous stays in other locations. This one was a little disappointing.

Location, location, location! This hotel is just 6 miles from Great Falls, 7 minutes from Spring Hill Train Station, and 20 minutes from Dulles Airport. It offers paid parking for $12/day with in-and-out privileges. The rooms were clean, and the front desk staff was very friendly. The bar has a great selection of drinks, and if you’re a Diamond member, you get two complimentary drinks per night—but only until 7 PM. Breakfast includes a made-to-order omelet station along with standard hotel breakfast options, and it’s complimentary with your stay. The rooms are spacious, and there’s an option to upgrade for a small fee (which I chose not to do). The rates were affordable, though that may have been due to a non-peak weekend. I’d definitely recommend this hotel if you’re visiting DC or Virginia but prefer to stay outside the city. It offers more budget-friendly options for getting into DC, with the Silver Line train providing direct access to all DC stations in 50–60 minutes. If you’d rather drive, DC is just 30 minutes away.

5 out of 5. Staff was amazing. Bartender Betty was great! Cleaning services were awesome. I didn't have to worry about a thing. Happy hours were spot on and the food was terrific. I would highly recommend any Hilton to friends and family. 100%

During my travels, I often choose Hilton properties, and this time, I opted for Embassy Suites by Hilton. Overall, my experience was wonderful—the room was comfortable, and the accommodations were everything I expected from a Hilton stay. One area for improvement would be communication regarding check-in times. I encountered some confusion when trying to check in, and clearer information upfront would have made the process smoother, especially for guests arriving from long distances. That said, my stay was enjoyable, and I appreciate the quality and service that Embassy Suites provides. Looking forward to returning!

Budget hotel in disguise! I’m not seeing what I paid $163 for…the room I paid for was janky. The bed lacked support and felt cheap. My husband and I were literally sinking into the middle of the bed as if it was broken. I’ve stayed at nice hotels and cheap ones, so I know the difference. Red roof inn has better beds. When I complained, it took them a little while to place us into another room. We were happy with the suite we were given, but confused on why we weren’t given a nice room from the jump. I honestly feel that the location was the reason for the price, not the quality. This was disappointing. The swimming pool water was dirty and murky. There were many different strands of hair floating in the pool as if the pool filters did not work. There was water everywhere and underaged kids running amuck. It grossed us out so bad that we decided to get out after less than 10 minutes of being in the pool. My husband commented that the chlorine smelled extremely strong. The breakfast was lackluster. The fruit choices sucked. I usually appreciate yogurt that is individually packaged, but seeing that the yogurt was a community dipping station I did not want to partake in that. It felt super unsanitary watching people breathe over the yogurt. The French toast was okay. My husband really enjoyed the omelette station. But, I still felt like it was not worth the praise at all. Also, the tables could use a cleaning. The same piece of food stuck to the table at happy hour the day before, was still stuck to the table during breakfast. That was the only reason I noticed. If you enjoy a couple of free drinks, some pretzels, and kids running around during happy hour…this is the hotel for you. I came here for my birthday and wish I went elsewhere!

I called this hotel before leaving Chicago to confirm and book a suite with 3 beds. I specifically asked if a rollaway bed could be added to the suite I was booking, and they said yes — but it would cost an extra $25 per night. I agreed and completed the booking. I even left a note mentioning I’d be arriving late and requested that everything be ready upon my arrival. I arrived at 3:30 AM after driving more than 12 hours in heavy rain and traffic delays — and nothing was prepared! Now it’s 4:30 AM and I’m still waiting. The front desk keeps saying the system is slow and not working. Very frustrating experience, especially after confirming everything in advance. Not what I expected from a Hilton property.

Yelp
I have not stayed at this hotel since my last review in 2022. On a recent trip, hotel availability required me to stay here. There were no surprises in the hotel, either good or bad. Just an OK hotel that you are not thrilled staying in. What has changed is that you have to log onto an app to pay the $12 per day parking fee instead of having it show on your hotel bill. Maybe it was me, but the app was a huge pain in the neck. I thought I would never get it to work. It finally did work, but I was not sure that it did finish the process. . Fortunately my car did not get towed, so that was a relief. Not a huge issue but one more nail in the coffin.

Yelp
There are two hotels that I generally stay at because I know what I'm going to get Embassy Suites is one; however, this location leaves so much to be desired. I chose this location because I know the Tysons corner area is known for its abundance of sharps things to do and just overall great atmosphere. This location is very sparse and does not have any of the amenities that Embassy Suites normally has: complementary water upon arrival, condiments for breakfast, etc. there was even no real decor. It was very much like an office space that they turned into a hotel. Even when I went for breakfast, there are plastic forks in cups, no porcelain cups for tea or coffee. It was just not up to Hilton standards by any means the staff, however, was very kind and gave me a full refund so I could book elsewhere.

Yelp
Edit, a few hours after original post (below): I opted to move this review from a 4-star rating to 3. My subjective experience was not impressive nor likely representative enough to counter or function in tandem with an objective rating of 3-stars; further aggravated by the potential for a 2-star designation, based on value. Please consult my review below as all my thoughts still stand and summarize my experience. -- While I was originally torn between a 3- and 4-star rating, I opted for the latter due to my personal experience; that being hinged upon my status with Hilton. While parking seems up in the air but many have reported normally paying for such, I was given free parking and a very good amount of redemption value (able to double dip on Expedia and Hilton [added account at check-in]) as well as a goodie bag. Conversely, I was not given my usual gift (but I suppose that varies with each brand and property, which Hilton corporate states openly). The rooms are very big and comfortable, updated and modern while retaining a classic and classy feel. The internal wrap-around balcony decor is pretty nice and comfortable. The showers and beds are great, and I quite like the layout of the room which is perfectly suited for solo or couples' travel. Likewise, the addition of drink vouchers (2 per person in the party, for use during a happy hour at the bar that occurs each night) serves to further increase the value of a stay. If we standardize the price of an alcoholic beverage at $10, that is about $40 worth of value; and without tax nor the need to leave the comfort of the property. Or it can serve as an effective precursor prior to other shenanigans. Likewise, the restaurant seems decent for dinner service though I did not dine at it. Normal 80s-early 00s airport and hotel fare for reasonable prices. With that said, the breakfast is atrocious and probably the worst representation of an Embassy Suites I have experienced in my life; on the level with Days Inn or even slightly below some of the more upscale and put-together ones. With the snack bag I received which I would appraise at about $5 to $7.50 in worth, $47.50 of built-in value is added to the stay. And given my Expedia status, I received over a 30% discount for staying; as well as 6% cash back in Expedia cash; 11% cash back via Rakuten; and a decent amount of Hilton credit. This is all to say, however, that had I had to pay the regular price of the room and or lessen my benefit, my satisfaction would be markedly less; namely due to the commonality of paying for parking, though such was not applicable to myself; and the offensively bad breakfast which, not only do I not know how to rate, but which severely impacted my mood and perception of implied and assumpsit trust in Hilton and Embassy Suites brands. Prior to the discounts mentioned, I spent $88 and $12 of OneKey/Expedia credit for a total of $100. I will caveat that given the prices I currently see at the time of writing this review induce me toward a 2- or 3-star rating; without enough pull to grade upward, thereby rendering any scores between 2 to 3 as a 2 by default. Service is courteous and responsive.

Yelp
Stayed on the 8th floor in one of the corner rooms two days after Christmas '24. Room was clean and spacious. It had a nice sofa that turned into a bed (no sofa beds are comfy) in the living room area. Also included was a sink, fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Bedroom had a very comfortable king-sized bed as well as good views and a TV. The hotel itself was pretty busy, likely due to the fact that it was around the holidays and was a Friday night. The evening manager's reception included two drinks (beer, wine, spirits) and a bag of chips. I have stayed at another Embassy Suites location in the past and their reception included vegetables and dip, tortilla chips and dip, and some light hot snacks. I'm unsure if that's the norm for all of these hotels but it was a bit disappointing to just have a bag of chips here. Also included inside the hotel is a fitness center and pool. The fitness center itself had half a dozen treadmills, a Bowflex type machine, and free weights. All very adequate. The pool itself was fine too, though there were a lot of kids in the pool around 9 PM without supervision so again I will attribute that to it being around the holidays and on the weekend. Breakfast in the morning was very good. It included typical fare such as scrambled eggs, a variety of sausages, cereals, muffins, French toast, and oatmeal. Though busy again no complaints from me. All in all this hotel was perfectly adequate and I would recommend saying here.

Yelp
Pretty noisy and won't let us play friggwn mini sticks the pancakes were yummy and the fruit loops were high quality and the soccer players were roaming the hotel if your scared of highs thennnn.... Also, the pool was pretty nice and warm. I haven't been in it. That's what my friend told me.

Yelp
I've stayed at a few Embassy Suites, although it has been some time since I last stayed at one. I'd say this is fairly mid pack. Pros: -Location is fairly good, with plenty of restaurants nearby. Not too far from DC -Large rooms -Fairly quiet at night -Clean Cons: -Parking is not free -Rooms seemed to be aging -Not sure if policy changed, but managers reception is very limited

Yelp
Better secured parking if your going to have to pay to park at this establishment the Fairfax police made no difference

Yelp
Would not stay here again. Initially we were placed in a room on the 3rd floor but as soon as we opened the door, the smell of mold and "staleness" hit us in the face. We went back to the front desk and expressed our concerns and they ended up placing us on the 8th floor. The rooms are poorly lit, very dim. Carpet is old. Our sink also stopped working one morning so we had to call for maintenance. The showers are narrow . If you don't stand sideways, prepare for your booty to constantly touch the glass / walls. No complimentary water. When we expressed that we were Hilton vacation home owners, the front desk clerk said they don't recognize that as a hilton honors member. Tip: If you want your room cleaned you have to let them know a day ahead. We had higher expectations from this embassy suites since they are a part of Hilton. Highly disappointed at the customer service and overall experience. Hilton is going downhill.

Yelp
Stayed at this hotel as was meeting a friend for dinner and didn't feel like driving back to Baltimore. It's a very solid hotel. Nice suites spacious. One con was the bed. It says king. But it is really queen i believe as it's way smaller. TVs in both rooms. Shower is fine. Great pressure. Clean and updated. They have nice bar. And breakfast buffet. Included with stay. Front desk staff is always pleasant Easy parking. - free lot right outside And Roth chris right around the corner walking distance. So Super convenient I love staying there for quick overnight layover.

Yelp
We stayed at Embassy Suites in Tyson's Corner, not by choice I may add, for a tournament. Before even checking in, we received multiple aggressive and unprofessional emails from Sabrina Brady. The first email was stating that they had multiple groups and would not be able to provide pillows or blankets and to bring them from home. The lack of planning while hosting various groups is quite frankly not my problem. You're a business with paying customers who should be able to provide the service you are being paid to. The second email came the night before we checked in, regarding police being called for disrespectful behavior. It was very off putting and made me skeptical of what kind of hotel and chaos we were going to. During the check in process, half our team was told they couldn't find our reservations. Half our team was provided validated parking per the agreements, while the other half were told to pay and they'd be reimbursed. When we got to our room, I can't say it was the cleanest one but we rolled with it. Our first night there, we hung down at the bar, where Betty was bartending, who was very nice. When the bar closed, we stayed downstairs for a little, cleaned up after ourselves, arranged the chairs etc so it would be as if we weren't there. The second night, some parents did the same. Sabrina came in and said she received noise complaints, and that the cops were called. There was no conversation about keeping it down, no issues with disrespecting employees like her second email stated she had a previous issues with. Meanwhile, there was a group of teenagers who were running around the hallways (which I did ask them to stop because my 9 and 11 year olds were sleeping). She said nothing to the teenagers screaming in the halls, but to a group of parents who were sitting having low key conversations. She said how we left the place a mess the night before-a lie. She said she got calls about noise complaints specifically about parents-also a lie. And that it was our kids causing problems. We were there with a group of 9 year olds who had been in bed for hours at this point. The police came-a complete and utter waste of emergency resources and tax dollars. When we spoke to the police, they insinuated that this is a regular occurrence with Sabrina and a waste of their time. I cannot fathom having someone so incredibly unprofessional and rude be the "manager" of their business. Stay clear

Yelp
Very nice lovely place with a nice hot breakfast everyday. The service is good here too. They don't have a business center here but they're happy to print items for you. They also use zero sulfite soaps which is great for my skin. Like all hotels, the cleaning staff always forgets to refresh the cups, teas, stirrers, and tissues I use.

Yelp
We stayed for two nights August 10th till the 12th, imagine, walking in to the hotel around 9pm exhausted and just ready to crash, and the first person that greets you immediately shows that you are annoying them with your presence. There was no line, no crowd yes it took me a bit long to find my license, yes I had just booked for one night when it was suppose to be 2 nights but man! that person made me feel so bad about everything. He gave me long stares and long silences when I asked a question, but I lost my cool when my 13 year old daughter noticed how I was being treated, when he rolled his eyes, I asked if he was ok ? And he replied saying that he was tired lots of long hours, I explained that we are all tired but that doesn't mean that he needs to be rude. I come to find out that this person is an assistant manager, when I called him out on his behavior he didn't even apologized he was actually more sassy, while I was leaving I said thanks ! And He replied with a very sarcastic (my pleasure) I did talk to someone in the front desk before I left and they gave me his information. His name is Mark Fierro. To the actual manager thanks for not getting back to me about this issue I never got a call or knock on the door. Very disappointed never will be back I don't recommend. Btw I'm not the only one complaining how front desk sucks!

Yelp
Stay during COVID due to our AC going out during a heat wave and the house becoming an undesired sauna. A hotel during COVID is a weird experience and not something I'd recommend in general if you don't have to do this. The amenities were limited (had to make reservations for the pool or gym which I didn't try) or closed (no free breakfast bar but they did offer grab and go breakfast bags which was a little lacking with a pastry, apple, and single granola bar and free coffee). They had the free drink happy hour but it's limit two free drinks (have to turn in your tickets), only lasted one hour and they don't offer it every night. Parking is $10 a day but I questioned why they're charging during a pandemic and they quickly waived the fee. They made me sign a COVID waiver (stayed in late July) which was a little unnerving to say the least. It was made worse when they clearly were not enforcing the "mandate" that masks are required indoors. A couple was checking in and hanging out right at the front desk sans masks. I also saw people walk right past the front desk on two occasions and they desk attendant let them right in without saying a word. If you're not going enforce the law, don't have me sign a waiver absolving you from COVID liability. I guess it's a sneaky trick though if the hotel doesn't have to care for your safety since you can't sue them anyway. The room itself was awesome and it felt like staying in your own little condo rather than a hotel room. The living room was nicely set up and had a really comfortable couch that became a comfortable pull out bed. The bedroom was also really comfortable and I liked the bed and pillows. It's a little weird not having any natural light in the living room since it faces the interior of the hotel but no big deal. The only bad thing is they don't have a stovetop, plates, etc. like the extended stay places so this isn't the best place if you'll be there awhile and plan to make any meals in the room. If you're worried about COVID don't count on this place to take the necessary precautions to keep you safe but I did really like the rooms and would recommend this place once COVID is a distant memory.

Yelp
Avoid the King Studio. It's like a closet with a tiny window. Front desk staff was nice breakfast had made to order omlettes. The other breakfast food was blah.

Yelp
I stayed here for a few days, and it was nice. Hotel - Doesn't look like the best from the outside, but you can never judge a book by its cover. The interior looks much better, with a huge lounge, a bar (you can get one free drink sometime in the evening), a snack bar, and they do give out a nice little breakfast. They have a glass elevator, and I'm not going to lie, I really enjoyed going up and down that thing. The rooms are nice, and my room had a living room, bathroom, and a bedroom (all separated), and it was nice and clean. They even had a nice desk to study or read or do work. Parking - There is a free parking lot outside, and there's a lot more parking nearby due to its location on Leesburg Pike. Chick fil and many steak houses are nearby for food options in walking distance makes it very convenient. Overall, this place is great, and I would recommend staying here if you can.

Yelp
Pretty good hotel, friendly staff and spacious rooms. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed and clean overall. Would recommend.

Yelp
Embassy suites are hit or miss, and this location is the latter. If I could give zero stars I would. Do yourself a favor and never ever ever stay here. The room we booked and paid for is not where we were put. The staff is totally rude and incompetent but the biggest issue is cleanliness. (I didn't allow my kids to walk barefoot on the carpet, and I am not even a germ freak.) Our first room was filled with marijuana smoke as the hallway that connects two room had just been used by someone as their own personal smoking room. Moved to next room where the chair was covered in blood & "fluid" and the main bed was covered in (animal?) hair!!!! The room was beyond filthy and there were holes all over the walls. At all hours of the night there were people outside on cell phones in the hallway?! All in all it felt like a shady motel, not a mid-range hotel.

Julie ..

Yelp
Internet access not available. Clock doesn't work. One phone doesn't work. Front desk doesn't answer.

Sylvia S.

Yelp
Phones haven't been working for over a year. Contact staff in person if you need them. No free water. Pay 19.00 parking. Limited food selection for complimentary breakfast. Happy hour always good. Free drinks. Great location to shopping center. Staff not helpful.

Yelp
So to me the place could use an upgrade as the rooms seem old. Don't get me wrong it is nice but just old. Breakfast was great made to your order. Had fried eggs over easy, oh yeah. AC does not work well, again needs an upgrade. Even though I set for 68 it took about 3 hours before the room felt better I do like the area as there are nice places close by

Gordon S.

Yelp
I have no idea WHY anyone would give this place anything less than FIVE STARS! This hotel offers the "total package" at an excellent price. I stayed here for an entire MONTH, while waiting for my apartment to be ready for me to move into. During this month, EVERY SINGLE PERSON in this hotel has been an absolute joy to work with. From the front desk, to the breakfast personnel, to the housekeeping staff, - nothing was "too much" to ask for, and everyone displayed a most helpful and warm attitude. The breakfast with freshly-made-to-order omelettes, - to the happy-hour (with free drinks and snacks) at the end of the day, - everything was superbly laid-out and presented to the guests of this hotel. I used their laundry-room three times without any issues whatsoever. I ate off of the bar-menu twice during my stay and each time, the food was very good. Big, large rooms, TWO LARGE TV'S, a comfortable bed, modern, clean and brightly lit bathrooms, convenient parking, Wi-Fi, in a fantastic location that's within walking distance to some wonderful restaurants - not to mention just steps away from Washington's superb METRO station, - this Embassy Suites by Hilton Tysons Corner EXCELS. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, - and any friends looking for a place with a good rate to stay at: this is THE place that I will recommend. I salute the management here who clearly runs a tight ship; this place shines! And speaking of "shining", - during any given day here, you see people CLEANING EVERYTHING, - EVERYWHERE! This hotel is immaculately maintained. I would like to mention Denise, Stacia, Dave, and Jesus as standouts, - among the many wonderful people who work here; they were all quite competent and kind! I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for superb value!

Yelp
If you're desperate for a place to stay and don't mind breathing in smoke that permeates your walls, I guess. The room is nice and spacious and the bed was fine, I just hate cigarette smoke

Julie N.

Yelp
Wouldn't stay here again - too many quirks. We had Hilton points so didn't pay full price...which is good because I would never pay full price for such a no frills hotel. Positives - nice pool, fitness center - they were small, but well maintained and clean. Breakfast buffet wasn't bad. I've had better, and I've had worse. I wasn't expecting much as it was included in the price. Negatives - rooms were very dark and not inviting. The front of the room had a window with drapes that overlooked the hallway. You can't really open up your drapes unless you don't like privacy. The window was in the bedroom and no light filtered up front. Had an odd smell. The first room we were assigned had a broken AC. We had to get another room. The hotel itself was very stuffy and just wasn't cold enough. It's August and would expect a hotel to have a strong AC. The lounge area had worn furniture - rips in lots of seats. The couch in the lounge looked and felt gross. Sinks were broken with no soap I discovered in one of the public restrooms. Apparently you have to request rooms to be serviced. We did request towels and cups each day. We had to keep reminding the front desk on a couple occasions. No coffee shop. There is only a small snack/cold drink area up front. This place is more like a 2 star hotel.

Yelp
2 bedroom suite. Free happy hour (drinks and nacho salsa/ cheese, veggies) saturday from 530 to 730p. It stormed so the digital tv went out in the evening. The hotel lost power for a split power in the storm so immediately the fire alarm went off for us to leave the hotel. There was audio for the alert in the room but no light warning in the room. Lights flashed in the hotel hallways, but for those audibly impaired, a flashing light would also be a good alert. The firemem came about 15 mins after the alert and turned tje alarm off. We all went back to our rooms after the alarm stopped. Paid parking by the hour or overnight parking on ur key card for in and out privileges. The silver line metro is about a block or 2 down From the hotel on the other side of Leesburg Pike. The Spring Hill stop. Our room was in the front of the hotel. You could hear the metro riding by but it was nothing loud, like a low whizzing. Sounded comfortably actually.

Yelp
We are Honors Points members and they stuck us by the ice machine/elevators. won't stay here again, it's way too loud! (Particularly when people fill their entire ice chest in the early morning)

Yelp
I spent a couple days at this location in June 2021. The room was OK but the staff's answer to every question was "no, I can't do that". Very negative place, the worst was the front desk. I recently returned to the area, for month, did not stay at the Embassy Suites for the above reasons. I went over to the Embassy Suites to check their lost and found and had to deal with the young lady at the front desk. I asked if they had a lost and found she abruptly asked when I stayed there, what was my room number. I identified my self and was rudely told told that since my wife rented the room I cold not check the lost and found for a missing shoe. I was stunned beyond belief. She was rude and an officious jerk.

True B.

Yelp
The Embassy Suites by Hilton Tysons corner my first impressions was grandiose and elegant. The room felt homey and comfortable. I felt a pretty good vibe throughout the hotel. The breakfast was pretty good. Beautiful room space and good size bathroom. I saw children and families enjoying the pool. There is a gym, it's quite small but it wasn't a big deal. I had a great experience with this hotel and I would recommend it to others. Ebony A.

Yelp
Made a reservation yesterday due to a COVID quarantine situation and called to cancel it today as it was no longer needed. I was told by the General Manager, Julie Welch, that the cancellation policy was 11:59 pm yesterday and that I would be charged the full amount. Oh by the way, I have been a long time Hilton Honors member. Merry Christmas Julie and thank you for being so considerate. I guess the hotel must really need the money!

Yelp
This was our first visit back after the recent remodel and everything looks amazing. Very modern & new. The evening reception was excellent as always Ace & Santos are great with offering drink suggestions if you are wanting to try something new, but they're also great at quickly turning out the drinks so even though there was a line of guests waiting for a cocktail you never waited longer than a minute or so. They also had a nice selection of munchies which was great w/ cocktails. They also offer happy hour priced food specials which were great! We shared a pizza & the fries both were very good and at $5 bucks a pop a great bargain! The breakfast has your typical embassy suites fare pancakes, French toast, potatoes, eggs, omelette, fruit, etc... even though the hotel was fully booked the omelette line seemed to go very fast. We would definitely come back again!

Yelp
We have often enjoyed the pleasures of Embassy Suites, but this hotel was in definite need of a refresh. We asked for a free upgrade since we are part of the Hilton rewards program and were told every room in the hotel was booked. When we were settled in the room and opened the folding couch there was mucous on the pillow. We cleaned it and did not complain since we knew there was no place else to go. When the bed was unfolded, you could not walk to the door without walking over the bed. Once on the bed it was so uncomfortable, we closed it and I slept on top of the couch. There was an app for putting Netflix on the television, but when the hotel's tech person came to the room to help show us how to use this app he told us he had no knowledge of this perk. The breakfast was mediocre and the dining area was below average rather than enchanting as it had been in other ES hotels where we had stayed. Were it not for the fact that everyone working at the hotel was an absolute delight, I would have given this hotel a one star rating.

Yelp
Chipped cupboards in the bathroom, dust everywhere, no soap in the bathroom not to mention an empty Gucci box left sitting in the middle of the floor. This is pitiful in the age where everyone is worried about germs. We won't be back. Edit to add: an alarm went off at 5 in the morning. We called the front desk no less than 6 times. When they finally answered, the man sounded as though he'd been sleeping. He said they'd be right up to check it out but no one ever came to our door. The alarm stopped about 20 mins later.

Yelp
This review is for the carbonara pasta. I ordered it via room service tonight and got excited because the pasta looked creamy, and the chicken looked nicely grilled... WRONG! Can you believe they charge $18 for that pasta and have the audacity to serve you those rubbery, fake, from the bag processed chicken strips? The kind that isn't real sliced chicken breast and has that foamy nugget consistency? I left it outside my door and told them, no thank you.

Yelp
Embassy Suites Tysons Corner is a very clean hotel and friendly staff. Great location near Wolf Trap concert venue, near a large mall, and lots of restaurants. Excellent customer service throughout this property and very nice open spacef bar/lounge area. The room was a nice size, comfy bed, and modern design with rotating tv. Breakfast wasn't great but for a complementary meal with buffet and omelet station, it was satisfying. This location doesn't have food room service. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Yelp
Excellent staff! Very polite and responsive. Rooms are nice and quiet. Rachel was a wonderful bartender and an absolute delight! Decent breakfast and plenty of food nearby. Definitely recommend staying here! Safe travels!!

Yelp
Unprofessional...and remained unprofessional after I mentioned to the representative at the counter, that during check-in I would not want someone sitting on the counter. The guy sitting on the counter is someone the representative knew, so they continued with their conversation. I took these pics and walked away.

Yelp
The (lazy) front desk clerk refused to issue a receipt for the overpriced items I bought from their hotel store. Would not even tell me the total he charged to my card. He was doing absolutely nothing else at 10pm on a Sun night! I'll never stay here again on my business trips to Tysons Corner! When a business charges a credit card, I'm pretty sure the clerk is obligated to provide a receipt when the customer requests one--even if you're working the Sunday night shift like a sloth. The customer service and hotel management here shows that Embassy Suites Tysons could not care less about its customers and cannot be bothered to provide any level of decent service. .

Yelp
Do not stay at the Embassy Suites @ Tysons Corner in Vienna, Va. Allowing a severely intoxicated man, who is not a guest, to get past your security measures and get into a pool filled with 9-10 yr old girls is not okay. He took off his shirt, got in the pool and just watched the kids. We initially thought he was a guest, but it gets worst from here. The following morning, this same man was in the bar area and placed himself next to children at 7am with a bag from Dunkin' Donuts to cover his beer, and it took an observant parent, not the staff, to tell him to leave. This same man came into the bar area tonight, with his pants full of beer and sat next to a table full of children. The staff was more concerned with children playing around the tables. The desk attendant went to the children and reprimanded them for playing. The bartender allowed the man to stay in the section even though he had 6 beers from outside the establishment sitting under his chair. The person working the bar area made no move to ask the man to leave. Again, it took an observant parent in our group to bring it to staffs attention that the man was not a guest (he admitted it to the other parent in our group when he asked him to leave at breakfast). We brought the concerns of his being around children and his intoxication to the desk attendant. She felt we were attacking her, and said it was not protocol to contact the police for the behaviors we described the man was doing. It was not until we reiterated that this man was exhibiting predatory behavior to 9-11 year old girls that we got "Oh My God" as a response after sh wanted to know if the children were teens. We then educated her on the statistics relating to human trafficking and the number and young girls missing in this area. We took it upon ourselves to contact the police to not only report his behavior but to also make them aware that a man was coming to this hotel on serperate occasions, accessed the hotel pool area without a keycard, got into a pool with young girls , watched them swim, was heavily intoxicated at each occurrence, and the hotel didn't think it was serious enough to contact the authorities. The police agreed that it was concerning and thanked us for calling. If none of what I had written isn't concerning to you, then by all means this is the place for you. However, my family and all of the parents staying here will NEVER frequent this location again. In review of other reviews, this kind of behavior is supported!

Yelp
Very nice and helpful staff. Comfortable lobby. But the rooms are incredibly dated and just plain tired looking. Kinda depressing vibe inside guest rooms. It's well past time for Hilton to do a full renovation.

Yelp
It's hot in the living room and cold in the bedroom. Kinda of annoying. They should look into fixing this. I've stayed several times and it's like that with all of the rooms. Other than that, it's a nice hotel. It's walking distance to metro and half mile from Tyson's Corner.

Yelp
This used to be a decent hotel to stay for business... definately went downhill.. No hot breakfast, you get a to-go bag that is garbage.... and the restaurant is closed. Evening social is limited to two drinks and there is no food... Room was dated and not very clean... there was a dirty spoon and bottle caps near the microwave.

Yelp
Pool is " by reservation " meaning we couldn't Use it at all!!! The only reason we booked this hotel staff is rude especially the front desk. Will never stay here again.

Yelp
Definitely a LOUD hotel. 1) It's the old school style hotel where EVERY room opens to the inside overlooking the bar/dining area on the ground floor. Needless to say noise from that area travels all the way up. I stayed on the 8th floor and it was loud. Can only imagine what it's like for those staying closer to all the action. 2) Noise between rooms is exceptionally loud too. One set of neighbors decided to party well into the early morning hours. With that in mind, I fed my kids sugar packets for breakfast and let them run wild at 7am. #payback 3) Sure, the happy hour is a nice feature, but unless you're drunk or a heavy sleeper, don't expect to get a lot of sleep in this hotel. Bring ear plugs, and a noise maker. 4) Lastly, traffic in the area is just plain atrocious. I booked because it was cheap, however the road rag has been in full effect. It took me 25mins to get from the hotel to the mall (2miles away mind you) at 5pm. Sure, you might say, "well, why go to the mall at 5pm on a Friday?" My answer might be, "great question, but I needed some socks. A man can't go without socks." You might ask, "didn't you pack enough socks?" I would answer, "I did, but it was rainy and I was walking and my socks got wet and there's nothing worse in life (maybe childbirth) than wet socks." 5) Okay, wrapping this up. The neighbors must have taken advantage of happy hour again. Time to hunt down more sugar packets.

Yelp
Guy working at front desk approx 6pm 10/24 needs to put the cell phone down and check IDs! When I walked up to the desk, he was texting. So he put phone down. Unfortunately he put it down in a way so I could read his entire text convo with his lady while I stood there talking to him. All the lovely and smoochie faces included ! So I tell him I accidentally locked myself out of my room, he asked my room I'm number (which I tell him), then he said my first name back to me and asked if that was me. I replied yep so he gave me a new key. No id check. Yikes. Safety is an issue at this hotel! Also, careful of the LOUD noise from atrium during 6pm-10pm. All rooms face the atrium. Nothing the staff can do (it's the way the hotel is built). I wore my trusty ear plugs to go to sleep early.

Yelp
I'm a Hilton honors gold member and if this is any indication of the direction that Hilton is heading I'm going to switch to Marriott. I asked for bathroom service and to have the bed made period. What I got was a towel exchange. If I'd wanted to tend to my own cleaning I'd have stayed in an Air B&B. This is ridiculous. While I give credit to the front desk supervisor for making an effort after I complained, these decisions come from this particular site's management. Not to mention, the bath soap they used is NOT the same as all of the other Embassy Suites that I've stayed in. It is thin and rough as sandpaper. They're running at 90% occupancy and yet still refuse to pay their help a living wage that would keep them adequately staffed. This location is the Motel 6 of Embassy Suites.

Yelp
I encountered what I thought was bed bugs. If it wasn't bed bugs....it was something. I should have put it in a glass and covered it to save. Night manager was very nice and put me in another room. Day manager stated they was calling pest control. Day 3 manager states nothing was found or identified by pest control. Kind you I walked by the room and noticed a cleaning lady present and I said you didn't clean that room did you? She stated no. Anyway I'm disappointed at how the dayanager handled it, like I was making it up. Ok, fast forward I did receive a letter from hospitality about the claim. I called Kevin twice and left messages, he was "handling" the claim and I haven't heard back from him. I really enjoy staying at Embassy Suites and I travel a lot. Never had an issue but when I did thought I'd be treated like a loyal Hilton Honors customer that I am. Would have given one star but thenight manager was genuine concerned.

Yelp
The hotel looks clean and nice, but if you want to be hot, your back to be hurting all night, sleep in 300 count bed sheets, be woken up by fighting guests next door at 1am and traffic/metro train you came to the right place! I feel like I'm in the Walmart of hotels... other than that, the bathroom looks new so I'll give it a star.

Yelp
Stay away from this place, so disappointed I checked-out and they told me everything was Okay and I was good to go... few hours later I found out a charge in my credit card for $250 from Embassy Suites Tysons Corner, I immediately contact the hotel to ask why they were holding that amount ... and the explanation was that I was supposed be smoking in the room!!! Which I never... ever did!!! They were rude on the phone..... I asked several times to talk with the manager, but they just put me on hold for few minutes and then hang up on me!!! I ask the receptionist why they were saying I had have smoked in the room.. and she told me they have pictures... I asked what kind a pictures? that was impossible cuz I never smoked in the room... and her answer was that they have pictures of the smell!!! Come on!!! how can you take a picture of a smell!! please!! give me a valid explanation!! I told her to show me the pictures but instead she hangs up again!! Then I call again asking for the manager... but she didn't want to talk ... I am completely sure they do this kind of dirty outrageous things to steal your money... they can't say I smoked in the room cuz I never did... but without reason and with out give any valid explanation they just charge you with a fee ... for whatever reason they come up to !with no shame... they steal your money . PS I stayed there before several times and never ever had a issue with them...

Yelp
I stayed here a few times in the last 2 or 3 months. I love the new renovations; however, the only issue I had was with a guy at the front desk. I was having a friend over right after I checked in to visit for the day and asked to add parking to my room only for that day since they would be staying 5 hours max. I was told that I would get charged for everyday of my stay for them parking on the property for 5 hours (not even a full day). I explained again that my friend wasn't staying overnight and I really just wanted the parking added for just the one day. I was told no so instead, we decided to do some activities outside the hotel instead of my friend coming to the hotel to hang out. The next day of my stay, I asked the late night shift the policy of the parking and explained my issue the day before and was told, "Yes, you could have added parking for only that day and not be charged for the next day." So either the original clerk lied to me or he wasn't trained properly. The original clerk also didn't seem like he wanted to be bothered when I approached the desk and had an attitude. I will definitely get his name when I go back to this hotel this month and update my review. Not even sure if the manager reads these reviews but everyone else will know his name. OTHER THAN THAT, lovely hotel and all of the other clerks were very helpful in accommodating me for whatever I needed.
