Emiliano La Taqueria - Review - Little Haiti - Miami - The Infatuation

"This spot in Little Haiti is making some of the best tacos in Miami. It’s not a big place, but there’s counter seating overlooking the flattop where you can watch our favorite dish being made: the costra de queso with al pastor. The meat is added on top of melted, crispy cheese and rolled up like a gooey sleeping bag. They also cut and fry tortilla chips to order, so they’re puffy and crunchy when they hit the table with your guacamole. But if you want to stick to standard tacos, go for the campechano—three tacos (al pastor, chorizo, and birria) with one chicken tinga tostada. There’s not much on these—just a whole lot of beef or pork with a sprinkle of chopped onions and cilantro here and there. But the meat is juicy and crispy. photo credit: Cleveland Jennings / @eatthecanvasllc" - Virginia Otazo

Google
I loved the decor and I love the location- happy to see something in the area. I had seen pictures and have been wanting to try this place and it really disappointed me. The tacos were dry, meat tasted old and the salsas were wierd and watery. It’s about $5 per taco in an order of three which is normal but they just weren’t good. Maybe a bad day but consistency is key. I wouldn’t go back

It was an ok experience, the other reviews really over-hyped it. The interior decor is very nice, other than that the portions were really small. I feel like I had an appetizer instead of a meal. If I wanted to eat properly, it would have cost me more around 30$. Left still very hungry and looking for another meal

Google
Just bad, tbh just bad tacos. Dry, underseasoned, sad little, limp things. Should be ashamed to be charging people 16$ for this poor imitation of one of my favorite foods.

Yelp
This place is the classic case of "I want to sing its praises but I also don't want the word to get out". Emiliano La Taqueria is soooooo good! When I went, there was one guy doing it all-getting customers, taking orders, and making food. I mention this because you are going to need to be patient eating here because there will probably be just one guy doing it all. Anywho, the food is fantastic. I had never heard of a costra de queso so I tried that with al pastor. It's fried cheese with the meat in the middle and is soooooo yum. They offer unique salsas that are very yummy. The pico de gallo is amazing. The guy came and checked on us and made sure everything tasted good. I appreciate that, especially knowing how busy he was.

Yelp
This place deserves 20 stars! They have a trompo to make the most authentic tacos Al pastor. The Cochinita pibil tacos are also bomb. This is a force to be reckoned with in the Miami taco scene. Look out for them! They're famous in Colombia for making massive taco platters. I can't wait to have a reason to get one!

Yelp
A real hidden gem!! Authentic Mexican food with a great selection of choices and some stuff you don't see all the time. Fun decor and much larger inside than it looks! Also have a daily lunch special and offer beer, too. My new favorite Taco Joint!

Yelp
I stopped in at lunch time and I almost left because I was the only person there. I asked the server if the vegan taco had mushrooms and she said no. I ordered it anyway and a pastor which she recommended. While I waited for my order she asked if I wanted chips. I said sure. She brought oily chips and no salsa. That's how they come, she said. When my tacos came they were child size, nothing like the pictures in the menu and again, oily. The vegan taco had mushrooms but no pickled onions, just cubed raw white ones, yuk, no sauce, no flavor, no salt or pepper on the table, no silverware. I asked how long they've been open and she replied 8 months. I can't chalk this up to being a new business so I going to deduce this is the norm. Definitely won't be back.

Yelp
Honestly, this may have been another bad day for this restaurant. I took my family for an afternoon snack, recently and terribly regretted it. The decor and pictures were very interesting and fun to observe. In terms of our authentic Mexican Food experience, it was not what we expected. The "Torta Arrachera, was dry and contained 98% veggies and 2 thin slices of burnt steak, buried in a very hard dry burger bun. The Fajitas De Arrachera, was loaded with veggies and contained 3 thin slices of steak, the size of my pinky finger ( I guess...1 slice of steak per 3 Corn Tortillas). The steak was burnt and very chewy. The Fajitas De Arrachera meal was not served with Guacamole and Refried Beans, as stated on the menu. We had to order a separate "side" of Guacamole for $9.00, to complete our meal. Our server, unfortunately did not speak English, so we used "Google Translate" in order to try and communicate effectively. We were very disappointed with the freshness, quality and quantity of our food. This is definitely a one & done Taco Joint, for us. Again, it may have just been a bad day for this restaurant! For future purposes, we will take our $65.00 for a Taco Snack, somewhere else in South Florida.
