"Some of the greatest ice cream in Seattle is actually a short ferry ride away on Bainbridge Island. You’ve probably zipped past this small cottage on Winslow in favor of a certain popular spot with longer lines, but skip that line and trust us—Emma & Otto’s is way better. The beauty of their ice cream rides on its pure simplicity, from a coffee flavor that tastes like mellow cold brew swirled with fresh sweet cream to lilac-colored blackberry scoops we find hard to stop eating. (Well, licking.) A tall stack of this stuff smashed inside a homemade cinnamon waffle cone is the best treat on the island." - Aimee Rizzo

I have been to a lot of ice cream places and this was honestly very basic for the high prices. Over $6 for a single scoop in a cup (no toppings) and over $5 for a kids scoop. They menu has very few choices and as mentioned, no toppings. The workers added a piece of candy to the kids cones which was unexpected but nice. The ice cream itself was good but nothing spectacular. Be prepared that it is all outdoor seating and many of the seats are not shaded. They have free cups of water to the side of their trailer but the water was warm. It's within walking distance to the downtown shopping area so that's a plus.

This place is SO GOOD. You can tell that it's homemade and quality. They make their waffle cones there and they're an absolute MUST HAVE with the ice cream. I'm down to hop on the ferry just to come here. I tried their vanilla lavender ice cream with a waffle cone cup and I was in heaven.

We went as a family and had a great time! Kids got mint chip and cookies and cream to try, my husband got mint chip in a regular waffle cone, and I got the vegan chocolate in a gluten free waffle cone. We all thoroughly enjoyed everything! It is not easy to find vegan ice cream that isn't a sorbet and I love chocolate so this was such a treat! The staff was super helpful and kind, answered questions to avoid allergens. We will definitely come back! Parking can be challenging so if there isn't any on the main strip, follow the blue signs for public parking down Ericksen Ave or if you see the Bainbridge City Hall building on Madison Ave (street prior to Ericksen, both end at Winslow Way), turn into that lot and the public parking is accessible through there! It's an enjoyable walk, not too far. Lots of signs to tell you where is permit only parking, for specific businesses, or days/times you have to have a permit. We parked by the performing arts center and had no problem!

WOW! This farm fresh ice cream was the best i’ve ever had! I’d come to bainbridge just for this honestly. I had the strawberry and blackberry in their homemade waffle cone and let me tell ya, it was a good day.

Amazing waffle cones here! I adored the blackberry ice cream. Nice outdoor seating nearby, or just a short walk to the beach. Unfortunately they hand out a piece of single-use plastic with each ice cream. Otherwise 5 stars.

This is hands down the BEST ice cream I have ever eaten! My family stopped by on the way back to Seattle. It was such a hot day and the strawberry ice cream tasted like I was eating fruit back on the farm. So creamy and rich. Do NOT miss this gem!!!!

Now this is the good stuff. Ice cream tasted super creamy, and the flavors tasted natural and not too sweet. I went for the almond joy. Definitely go for the waffle cone. Best ice cream I’ve had in awhile.

Tasty ice cream - I had mango sorbet and chocolate brownie ice cream in their homemade cone, which had a cinnamon undertone. 😋 Their ice cream was better than their sorbet in my opinion and both were very thick in texture. Note that their one scoop is normal two scoops!
