London’s New Bar Openings - London - The Infatuation

"Named after a rattan chair sourced from the set of an erotic 70s film, and just a short stumble from sister restaurant, Tehran-Berlin, Emmanuelle was always going to be a good time. The Clerkenwell wine bar is all about small-scale winemakers, long conversations over vintage Camparis, and picking at plates of Iranian and French-style charcuterie as you wonder aloud what that rattan chair has seen." - daisy meager, sinead cranna

What a magnificent building. Not the greatest for wheeled accessibility but on saying that, given the age of the building and the importance to keep it authentic, they have made a sterling compromise that should be acknowledged. It takes longer and is through an alternative entrance but is acceptable. The only thing I would critisize constructively is that the coir mat across the corridor that runs alongside the auditorium is difficult to push a wheeled walker over.

Attended and saw a talk from author Lauren Roberts and her series of books with my 14 year old daughter. It's a great looking arena but had no idea its a place of worship, but we were not there for worship. The Emmanuel Centre was clean and tidy, enough room for around 1000 seated guests and is set up in an amphitheatre style. Plenty of space underneath for toilets and a hidden bar too. An impressive and quite different venue!

Lovely centre to host fantastic student conferences. Food available downstairs, and plenty of toilet facilities. Star only lost due to uncomfortable seating for long periods of time.

We were there last Satuday for David Hathway Conference. A great place for people to.meetup and socialise.

Great conference centre. It can be quite hot in the main Hall in summer. Good sound system.

An excellent venue very close to transport hubs. Slightly off the beaten track but no problem if you can read a map. The seats get very uncomfortable after an hour.

A great venue for events. The building is amazing inside. Best to go travel by public transport as it's in the middle of the city. There is a shop very close by if you want to get snacks. The main auditorium requires walking up curved staircase so not sure if it's wheelchair accessible. The toilets are on the lower floor also down some stairs.

I've been here a few times for various talks but never been to a church service. Acoustics are quite good and they seem able to get the sound right. However, they do that with some large speakers that obstruct the view of the stage from the edges at the front. Main thing to be aware of is the lack of toilets, especially women's, and the limited drink and food service. Both of these cause long queues. Best bet is to use local pub or restaurants before the talk.

Yelp
Emmanuel Centre is used for examinations, AGM's or shareholders meetings, training seminars, council meetings, product launches, church gatherings, exhibitions, rallies, presentations, concerts and conferences. The building has a traditional charm and character comes with modern facilities and fully integrated in-house audio visual equipment. The main auditorium seats up to 1,000 people and is completely circular and supported by 24 pairs of marble columns with natural light that penetrate through a huge glass dome and arched windows, finished off with original polished English Oak panels along the walls. I went along here to watch a talk by Nigella Lawson which was very interesting. She sat on the main stage with a interviewer. The lights used to reflect the stage was a nice relaxing light not to bright. I love the whole architecture of the building inside and out. I especially love the organ pipes that was up above. The seats in the main area our church pews unfortunately no cushions so was hard. I reckon to see a church ceremony and to hear the organ being played I would reckon it would be beautiful.
