14 Last-Minute Food and Drink Ideas for Father’s Day in D.C. | Eater DC

"Pops craving pizza? Emmy Squared has the remedy. In collaboration with celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson, customers can try The Streetbird, a twist on its traditional Detroit-style pizza invoking Samuelsson’s take on hot and spicy fried chicken at his Streetbird eatery. The Detroit-style pie is topped with julienned collard greens, Calabrian chili, crispy chicken, pecorino cheese and Marcus’ signature Streetbird honey. Order it from Wednesday, June 15 all the way through mid-July at all area locations (Shaw, Old Town, and Navy Yard)." - Vinciane Ngomsi

Where to Order a Wedge Salad in D.C. | Eater DC

"This relatively new addition to D.C. is known for its Detroit-style pizza, but it also has fun with its wedge salad. Described as a huge hot chicken wedge, the $18 salad combines the Nashville favorite with Alabama white sauce, chopped pickles, bleu cheese, olives, tomato and ranch dressing (it’s a $3 charge to add bacon)." - Missy Frederick

Came here with a few friends on a Friday night, it was steady with customers. The service was great, very attentive checked in on us frequently. We got the mozzarella sticks to start which were good! Loved the pizza! The big Hawaiian and Ezzo were my favorite followed by the Miranda and the good Paulie. Would recommend. Prices were reasonable and food was good!

I explicitly requested NO CHEESE when placing my order. I also called the restaurant personally and clearly explained that I cannot consume cheese because it triggers severe migraines. I begged them to ensure the deluxe pizza was completely cheese-free. While there was no cheese on top, the restaurant still put cheese underneath the toppings, on top of the marinara sauce, so the toppings would stick. This was never disclosed, and I had no way of knowing there was cheese hidden underneath. I ended up eating the pizza and shortly after developed a horrible migraine, exactly what I was trying to avoid. This is extremely disappointing and unacceptable, especially after clearly communicating a dietary restriction for health reasons. If a restaurant cannot truly accommodate a “no cheese” request, they should be honest about it rather than partially complying. This could seriously affect someone with allergies or medical conditions. Very disappointed. I will not be ordering again.

It was recommended by a friend, they said that the Hawaiian pizza here is good and no joke it was! I know very selective who likes pineapple on their pizza and it has been awhile since the last time I had it and so thankful that this place gives justice with the Hawaiian pizza that am craving. The time we went they don’t have an AC so that’s hard fight with your sweat glands but the service was for sure on the spot and fast. The place was packed when we visit just got lucky that there’s still availability at the bar area. They have an alfresco and indoor dine in. For parking, it will be street parking and you need to walk to the restaurant. It’s around the corner where the closed road is so it will not be hard to find.

Google
Food was really good, and the service was amazing! (I wish I remembered our server’s name — she had blonde hair and big green gauges.) The MVP pizza was a standout — the sesame crust was super yummy. The Meatsia was tasty too, just a little on the greasy side. Tia Fries and the crispy chicken were also excellent. Definitely recommend!

There's a great company in Old Town Alexandria that does assorted food tours. We've done a few with them now, and this was the first stop on the pizza tour. The food was great, the service was quick and friendly, and we both really liked the place. I don't to to Old Town very often, but this place is worth going back for, and we both intend to do so.

Stopped in on Thursday, not crowded at all. Cute and comfy inside. Waitress was super nice. We had the special which was a truffle and pesto pizza. Came out fast and was delicious! Would definitely recommend for a good pizza.

I visited on a Wednesday at about noon. No wait at all, and the server was amazing. The decor has a modern vibe do it while maintaining a laid-back feel. It's located in a very pleasant neighborhood and there's parking easily accessible just a block away. Emmy Squared Pizza has a very positive reputation for great tasting pizza and while the pizza was great it didn't particularly stand out when you compare it to other above average pizzas. Finally the price was shockingly low for such a good pizza, drinks, and impeccable service.

Amazing pizza. This is our go to pizza place whenever we visit Washington, D.C. The foods are amazing. Service is always great.

Yelp
Emmy Squared is one of my absolute staples, and this location never disappoints. Every time I come here, it's a solid experience from start to finish. I ordered the MVP pizza with ranch on the side (a must), and it was everything I expected, perfectly crispy edges, flavorful sauce, and well-balanced toppings. Comfort food done right. I sat at the bar and was served by Troy, who truly elevated the experience. He's knowledgeable, approachable, and full of great recommendations-especially helpful when you're undecided. You can tell he knows the menu and genuinely enjoys making sure guests have a great time. Great food, great service, and a consistent go-to spot on the Alexandria waterfront. I'll definitely keep coming back.

Yelp
Although I'm not typically into chain restaurants or those in high-tourist areas, I give Emmy Squared a break on both fronts because the food is really delicious. We've ordered takeout, eaten in the dining room, and sat at the bar. Personally, I prefer the bar seating. Service is always good and efficient, regardless of where you sit, and the flavors will surprise and delight you. I'm a fan of their pizza--it doesn't taste like overly processed chemicals and strikes the right flavor balance (and I always have leftovers!). My spouse and I recently came here the night before an early 5-mile run, and I tried the Caesar salad for the first time. Amazing! I love an authentic Caesar recipe (anchovies, raw eggs, and all), but I'm not a big fan of croutons. The beautiful thing about this salad is that there are no chunky croutons. Instead, there are little crunchy bits mixed into the salad itself. So smart and delicious. A caution when sitting in the main dining area: it's not terribly big, there's very little sound proofing, and you'll likely be rubbing elbows with the table next to yours with only a thin partition between you. You can hear everything they're saying and it'll distract from what your dinner mates are saying. Hence, my recommendation that you order takeout or sit at the bar. Another caution: The spicy stuff is delicious but actually REALLY spicy, so if you have low tolerance, maybe skip those options.

Yelp
I was excited to try the squared pizza but it was very thick. I was hoping for a Detroit styled squared pizza with the crust still being a little crispy but it was really hefty and soft. I called in an order and they were pretty quick to fulfill my order. I just wish the pizza variety was larger.

Yelp
I have yet to have a slice here that wasn't delicious! Super quality meats, sauces, cheeses, and dough! Seriously - the dough is so soft with crispy edges! Even the gluten free pizzas are amazing! The gluten free options have a thinner dough, but they're still high quality and I couldn't taste any different to the regular one. I've only tried their delivery and their service is fantastic! The pizzas were still warm and ready to eat by the time they arrived. I can't wait to sit down at their restaurant and try their pizzas right after they pop out of the oven! I don't have much else to say other than you've got to give these folks a try!

Yelp
Emmy's was recommended to me by a coworker. It was excellent. First, the ambiance of Alexandria is truly special. Nestled a block from the waterfront, Emmys is in a great location around the hustle and bustle of Old Town King street. The pizza is outstanding. Gluten free folks can rejoice as the gluten free crust option is a delicious alternative. Oftentimes, gluten free crust will change the entire dish. As Emmys specializes in square Detroit style, I was expecting the gluten free pie to just be a round alternative. It was not. It was exactly like their bread and butter just with a slightly thinner crust than the regular pizzas. I ordered the Big Ang. This pizza came topped with banana peppers, dollops of ricotta cheese, Italian sausage and a scrumptious vodka sauce. It was perfect. I ordered the regular size as there is also a large option. The regular may not look that big in the photo, but it is more than enough for one person. I found myself slowing down after 4 of the 6 squares. My friend ordered the Big Hawaiian. He enjoyed it! With the regular crust being much thicker, he only ate half of his pizza and took the rest home. For an appetizer, we ordered the chicken crunchers in the pineapple sauce. These were good and tasted somewhat like an Orange Chicken sauce. I am not sure how they are about refills as I ordered an unsweet tea and my friend ordered a coke. The coke came in the glass bottle so it seems to be a one and done kind've deal for drinks. The atmosphere was bustling. They have a small bar with a TV that was showing college football. It was a fun atmosphere.

Yelp
First time having Detroit styled pizza. This was pretty good. Definitely recommend to anyone in Old Towne. The service was good and server attentive.

Yelp
Still a 5* review...but...I love a good tomato on my burger. They don't have any in the restaurant. Also, ask for the lettuce on the side. The burger basically cooks it (it is under the burger in the stack) before you get it. It looks sad. Problem solved though when I ask for more lettuce and to have it on the side. The burger is excellent otherwise. Still love the Detroit style pizza. Also the waffle fries!! Outdoor seating is marvelous while the weather still holds. Definitely try the pizza! Also the burger.

Yelp
Wanted to spend the day in Alexandria and walk around the water w our dog :) looked for a restaurant nearby with outdoor seating and decided on this places. Although they have pizza in their name, they have other food items if you are not feeling pizza. The salad was great and a good contrast to the delicious and decadent, but fluffy pizza.

Yelp
Had a really great first experience here today. Came in around 11:30am for lunch with a friend and my kiddos. Service was fast and friendly and the restaurant was cute and felt intimate. Several booths and a few tables with a decent size bar. Bathrooms could use some updating but was clean. The pizza was amazing. Nice deep dish, crispy and gooey pizza. I had the two slices of cheese with a Cesar salad. Both were fantastic and fresh. My little one had pizza sticks which were cheese breadsticks with marinara and a side of pineapple but she could have gotten fries. She devoured it and it came first which was nice since the kiddos are always ready to eat as soon as they sit down. Ha! My friend had a gluten free pie with several toppings and she said it was the best gluten free pizzas she's ever had! This is really saying something. Prices were good and for the 3 of us it was about $60 which is good for the times. Will likely return.

Yelp
I love pizza, but I especially love detroit style pizza. I came here solo for lunch and ordered a large Ezzo. Yes, a lovely large pizza just for me (sorry Kevin McAllister, it wasn't a cheese pizza) The large was a good choice because I could bring the leftovers home. The rest of the menu sounds good I need to come back! Definitely yum for Detroit pizza

Yelp
I swear it is always pretty good. I really like this location and the option for indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was very friendly. I will say that I usually go to the Navy Yard location, but their parking is crazy so we came to the Alexandria location and I felt like the pizzas were smaller here. I like the loaded fries, but I almost thought that they could have a little bit less toppings because sometimes they were overpowering.

Yelp
Hey friends! This is one of my favorite spots. I've been here a few times and it's consistently great! I ordered the Le Big Matt burger($19) with a side of fries. The menu states this was an award winning burger and that award is well deserved! The flavors all came together perfectly. The temperature was cooked perfectly medium. Bonus points for the pretzel bun, it's my favorite kind of bun! The fries were a great addition. Super crispy and flavorful. We also ordered a cocktail pitcher. I can't remember the name, but it's a seasonal item. It was okay taste- wise. We would've preferred less ice. I barely felt a buzz from the cocktail and I had three lol. Customer service is consistently amazing. Very friendly staff! The owner came out to introduce himself and check on us. We sat on the patio which was a great view to people watch and watch the performances outside. I look to being here more regularly for the summer season! Hope you enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

Yelp
Emmy Squared Pizza is a cornerstone restaurant along King Street in Old Town Alexandria right by the waterfront. During the warmer seasons you can see folks dining inside, outside, and at the bar on Detroit style pizzas and having a good time. The atmosphere inside is bright and yet warm. Maybe a bit tight with the seating at the booths and the bar, but nothing too crammed. The menu has a little something for everyone, and I cannot stress enough when they say "shareable" they truly mean it. I ordered their Brussels Sprouts Salad since a friend had mentioned they love ordering it and having some for lunch the next day. It says "serves 2-3" and my god it does. I ate that with dinner the night at the restaurant and then for lunch the next 3 days. They did not skimp on the blue cheese either, so if you're not a fan of that cheese you can't escape it. But if you love it like I do, then this is the salad for you! Could one person take down their own order of a regular 8"x10" Detroit-style pizza? Sure. Should you? Eh, maybe not. Have a table of 4 and order 2-3 regular pizzas to share and try multiple flavors! The service was good, attentive, and friendly. Overall, nothing earth-shattering at Emmy Squared, but it is good, consistent, and I'm always looking forward to going back.

Yelp
The manager and our waitress were wonderful and attentive! The food was delicious! Definitely recommend this location!

Yelp
So good! The restaurant was nice and cozy and the pizza was amazing!!! It's all deep dish (I think) so if you're not into that then this place isn't for you... but if you're like me and prefer deep dish then I can't recommend it enough!!! We had the Margherita pizza and I want to go back for more! The staff was also very nice :)

Yelp
We came during the Alexandria pride event weekend and there was a wait list but as we decided to sit at the bar, we were able to be serviced right away. We came in and ate the Hawaiian pizza and it was SO good. As it was hot and sunny out this particular day, we also enjoyed some beers there- I forgot which, but I appreciated the quick and polite service while grabbing something small to eat.

Yelp
I love pizza, but am new to Detroit style pizza. I've been to sister restaurant EMILY in Brooklyn so I knew this would be a great place!! The pizzas were hearty, with cheese crisped perfectly around the corners and a light yet solid crust! It was a great spot.
google avatar

Sean R.

Yelp
We came in hungry and left truly very happy. This was my first experience with Detroit style pizza and I'd like to call out my own ignorance, it is nothing like deep dish. The Detroit style is its own uniquely wonderful experience, with a perfect crust and just the right amount of depth to add to each bite. We went custom with our pizza design, but the menu was full of excellent prebuilt options. I mentioned we came in hungry, we certainly were not reading properly. Do better than me and recognize that the chicken sandwiches have TWO chicken patties! Not a detriment at all although it was difficult to bite into at first. There was no loss of flavor in the slightest, and while my chicken was slightly overcooked my friend's was absolutely perfect. We sat at the bar and had a lovely conversation with two of the bartenders about books and the surrounding area, stellar conversations abound. The location is prime and comfortable, I'm excited to go back and try more variety in the pies.

Yelp
Stopped by earlier today. Over all not a great experience. We were seated immediately but after that our table was forgotten. It was about 20 minutes when I had to go and ask if a server was coming to our table. Then once they came over the young lady gave a hot bottle of water. We had wings and pizza. Wings were very good. Being from NyC and CT its hard to find pizza comparable of that area. Pizza was ok a little too much dough and very oily. But for VA not bad. Probably wont be back too many negative things happened today.

Yelp
WOWWW!!! My group showed up and sat down at 840pm after realizing they close at 9pm. We ordered as quickly as possible and they delivered the BEST Detroit style pizza I've every had. The MVP is an elite pizza, but the staff absolutely crushed it. Crispy crust, fluffy dough, vibrant sauce. Just wow. They delivered an amazing experience even with us showing up and staying past closing time. *The new bartender seated another group at 9:05pm because the host was cleaning in the back, not realizing they were closed. The staff obviously wasn't happy with the bartender but the staff still gave that group excellent service.
google avatar

Yelp
Table for 4 please. We were seated almost immediately. Service was excellent. Food was really good. This deep dish square pizza was on point. My husband had wings (not pictured). I must've been paying attention to my food and the company of my bonus son and brother in law to take a picture when his food arrived. He enjoyed the wings. I can definitely see myself going back. The atmosphere was very welcoming and our server was very attentive. We actually could have had a large pizza instead of 3 to ourselves. It was an afternoon well spent with my family.

Yelp
Not sure why there's mixed reviews for Emmy Squared Pizza Alx! I ordered priority UberEats and it arrived hot and crispy! I was in the mood for a thick Detroit-style deep dish pizza and Emmy Squared served up exactly what I was craving. Toppings and sauce was the perfect amount and I enjoyed every bite! I've also dined in before at the bar and service was also very friendly. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Nice bar, lots of children in this restaurant. The espresso martini was extremely sweet to the point I couldn't drink it. Bartender never bothered to ask how the drink was either. So I guess I'll have to come back to try the food next time.

Yelp
Yesterday, I went to Emmy Squared Pizza for the first time and I wanted to take a moment to compliment our server and the manager, Anna and Miranda, respectively. I ordered my pizza without cheese and extra sauce so the dough ended up a bit raw. Their customer service was amazing. They were so kind, so thoughtful and so professional. Thank you both for going out of your way to make sure that I didn't go home hungry. Thanks to you two, our lunch was absolutely perfect! Miranda, those waffle fries were magnificent, hot and fresh, and perfectly seasoned! And what a picturesque locay, right on the waterfront and near lots of shopping!

Yelp
I would absolutely recommend coming here. Chill or kick it kind of vibe. We almost didn't eat here. The attendant behind the bar tried to get us seated and offered the bar because it was completely empty. My husband didn't want to sit at the bar. When the front host came up he told us we needed a reservation, no seating outside was available due to rain. It was a Saturday eve. So I get it. People wait for good food. Trust me. We decided to walk around and see if there was anything else. We returned, I made a reservation, 30 min. Ironically when we returned I heard the guy telling people there's a 30 min wait. Cool. Next time tell me too. Waited a bit but we were seated on the kitchen door side right next to the partition. I stress this because....... the waitress Deana with the biggest smile appeared and was very cordial. Her actitud was genuine & welcoming so we gave her some kindness right back. Order: El jefe no chicken, waitress added mushrooms, chicken wings-naked, mango pineapple sauce on side so it would be crispy, seasoned waffle fries (yes they were crisp), margarita with hibiscus, Brussels salad- diff but good. I finally found someone who can make a pizza with a crunch. Thank you. Midwest folks ain't asking for much! I don't want your soggy bottoms. So thank you Emmy. I'll be back. Glad I came by. Omg, I reheated my pizza in the Air Fryer it's giving Crisp edge on the crust. Thank you. Good pizza can be found here. Businesses!!!! really need to cross over to the Prince George's. I'm going to get me a new position to bring good food to my County because we drive to spend money it would be nice to have a variety here. The size of this place doesn't require much.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite pizza spots. Thick delicious crust with toppings to the edge! I had the Good Pauline with caramalized onion, sausage and cheese of course. Every bite was delicious. This review lost one star from me though because the bathroom was a bit unkept, and one I was in had no paper towels. In general, could have used a bit of a wipe down... But every time I come here the pizza NEVER disappoints.
google avatar

Kathiana L.

Yelp
We had the Big Hawaiian pizza and butternut squash Brussels sprouts and everything was really good. I enjoyed the focaccia-style dough they used and the brussel sprouts were also really tasty. They were pretty fast in getting out our order and we had a good waitress who would stop by and ask how the food was.

Yelp
First time visit to Emmy Squared Pizza. The place was pretty empty on a Monday afternoon but that was perfectly fine with me. The hostess immediately sat down and welcomed me with a tall bottle of cold water. I knew I wanted the Cesar salad but not sure on what pizza I wanted to get. I should start asking for recommendations. The salad was pretty big. I was not able to finish it all. I decided on the Miranda for my pizza. The Miranda has 4 cheeses, crispy bacon and hot honey. The pizza was delicious. I would order this pizza again, but I would get it without the ricotta cheese. The crust, the texture and flavor were all phenomenal. I can't wait to come back and try other pies.

Lauren I.

Yelp
Loved!! The lavender mocktail was my favorite. We had the ezzo and chicken parm sandwich. Both were amazing and the server was very knowledgeable on allergens. It's always relieving to eat in a restaurant where everyone knows what goes into the food and is dedicated to keeping customers with allergies safe. Thank you.

Yelp
Yes! This place will be on repeat!! Just stumbled upon this place on King Street, and boy am I glad we did! After hanging out in old town, Alexandria and walking around touring shops, we were starving. Most of the restaurants were crowded with long waits, but Emmy Squared seemed to have had plenty of tables and seats. Not to mention the bar was open and no one was there as well. I was beginning to think this was a bad sign and a red flag, but it was explained later to me that they get a large number of takeout orders instead of folks eating inside on some nights. Good this for us because....At first, we started to walk away, but I am so glad we did not. We enjoyed a relaxing time at the bar over several drinks that were on point .....and strong, might I add. Also, we ordered several pizzas to go. The vibe and atmosphere was very laid back, casual and non-touristy, nor crowded. Just like I like it and something that you will find rare in this section of Old Town Alexandria due to the many visitors, out of towners, and people that flock to this historic area to enjoy the sites and views of the Potomac river. This made for an enjoyable, relaxed experience. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Both the drinks and food delicious! The pizza is hands down one of the best in this area of VA and I would even go as far to "almost" say....and I do quote.... The DMV! Our to-go items came out in no time and due to the smells and warmth of the pizza box, I must say I couldn't resist. I dived-in on a couple of slices of pizza at the bar and was blown away! The pizza crust had this crispy, chewy buttery edges that were to die for, and the toppings (including the meats and veggies) were plentiful. To top things off I asked for extra sauce and the they did not disappoint. There was sauce and cheese everywhere.... And, oh soooo good! The portion was more than enough to enjoy while in the restaurant and there was plenty to take home. Everything about the visit was awesome and a great experience. I plan to definitely come back when in this part of Old Town Alexandria again and again and again!!

Yelp
I came with family as I had heard the food is delicious. We had the hot buffalo wings which weren't hot, and the zia fries for starters. We then got two pizzas, one with grilled chicken and the other with fried chicken. Altogether, the food was okay, quite average in my opinion. What I will say is that the service was fantastic. Our server, Olsen was excellent. Polite, informed and friendly! Don't know if I'll go again, but overall we had a nice time.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and enjoyed the attentive service from L.T. we really enjoyed the pizza and cocktails and loved how crispy the dough was and not greasy. We highly recommend the emotional damage cocktail. Top notch and we cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
Hosted a group lunch at Emmy Squared. It was not very busy which I was surprised about but it was a week day. We had wings, Brussels sprout salad and caesar salad to start. I can tell why people love Emmy Squared. We had a classic and a colony pizza. I am typically a NY greasy style pizza girl and strictly round. Emmy does Squared (duh) and more savory than grease. It was all worth setting outside of my pizza box.

Yelp
I am a big fan of Detroit style pizza ... and this place knows how to do it right. I have been here a few times and the pizza has been very consistent. Fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. And ... my wife says their gluten free is one of the best she has ever had. So extra points for that! And when you add to that good service and a pleasant surrounding, you have got a winner! One word of caution ... their pricing is a little steep for pizza. So be prepared.

Yelp
A family member went here recently for a birthday celebration. She loves the food and appreciatesd the extra effort Emmy staff took for her special day. Thank you for operating such a kind and tasty restaurant!

Yelp
I do revisit places that are at least a three my first time trying (to me that means, I am not a fan of things I ordered, but there were things shared that were not bad and there were things on the menu I'd like to try if I do come back) My second time here , I ordered from the brunch menu and got the [SEC]FAN (Which had the breakfast sausage, fried egg, american cheese on pretzel bun, ketchup + sammy sauce on side) I found this to be a really good sandwich and the breakfast sausage had a great kick of spice. The pretzel bun was fluffy, and all the ingredients worked together. It was a good portion and was filling. I would order this again! Also enjoyed the brussels sprouts salad or 'Brooklyn mozz sticks but those were great appetizers/shareable dishes. My frist time here I kept seeing the sign for Detroit styled pizza and finally decided to try it and got the Colony. I prefer more cheese than sauce on my pizza so that ratio was not the best for me. This gives me pan pizza vibes so just two slices filled me up quickly! The zia fries were a bit much for me. I realized I'm not a fan of loaded fries & pimento cheese (it's a texture thing for me) Cheesy garlic sticks were simple.

Yelp
This place has been on my list for a long time, especially since I learned there was an Old Town location. Honestly, the dinner was a blur because it was so good even though the staff were a little MIA for the first 30 minutes after we sat down. We got the Big Ang pizza and the watermelon salad and all I have to say is oof, I need come back and try everything else. The pizza was so crispy but flavorful, and the banana peppers were exactly what it needed to cut some of the fat. I hate its location since it's in the most dense part of Old Town, but the food totally makes up for it.

Yelp
This is probably the best pizza I've had here in the DMV. The VIP Pizza (not on the menu on their website) blew me away - vodka sauce made in house, red sauce, pesto, pepperoni, mozzarella, Calabrian chilis, and a sesame seed crust. It's so good that I'm still thinking about it. The crust was deliciously crispy and the flavors were incredible. My boyfriend also LOVED the Colony Pizza. I forget the name of our waiter but she had a nose ring and was super attentive - I was torn between two beers and ended up choosing the peach tea over the source and she made sure to check in to see if I liked what I ordered. It was a little loud but the ambiance was great. I can't wait to go back and try more!

Yelp
Great pizza! My sister was in town visiting and we decided to stop here for lunch. We visited on a Friday afternoon before the after work rush so seating was a breeze. I love Detroit style pizza, it was crispy on the outside but still very delectable. I customized my own pizza. I think it's definitely worth visiting.

Yelp
Pizza is very good wasn't a fan of the boneless wings. However, the menus were all dirty and the tables were not the most clean.

Yelp
Before trying this place, I turned my nose up at Detroit-style pizza. I grew up in New York so what can you expect? Emmy Squared really changed my opinion. It's sooooo good! I've only gotten takeout and delivery so far but hope to eat in person sometime. My only negative is it's a bit pricey!

Yelp
We stopped by this restaurant for the first time today to get an appetizer as we were waiting to pick up family from the airport. I really loved the delicious, crunchy, deep dish pizza. We got the regular size and it was just perfect for my husband and me. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The wings were excessively large with little flavor and insufficient sauce (1/5). The pizza was fair but unremarkable (3/5). Service was satisfactory. I had the classic pizza and the buffalo wings.

Yelp
Went on a Wednesday, Valentine's Day, for dinner at 6:30pm. It's a decent establishment; not fancy, very casual with tables and some booths. Everyone else in the party ordered pizzas, but I ordered a burger (so I could get enough protein). Maybe it's because I ordered mine without cheese or sauce but it was the most basic pitiful burger I've ever had. Two pretty thin patties in my opinion, and a couple of pieces of lettuce (even though I asked for a lot knowing it was all I was having). They didn't have tomatoes slices. I don't know why, but when I read 1/2 lb ground beef I was thinking a big ole patty. So suffice to say, pizza may be their specialty. Since it was Valentine's Day, they gave us some Hershey kisses with the check. I would go again to try Detroit-style pizza, but not for the burgers.

Yelp
Very tasty food! We came here for dinner for two. Ordered the brussel sprouts salad which was SO GOOD. It had a kind of creamy dressing, but still fresh and what a way to eat your brussel sprouts! We also ordered pizzas - the margherita and the Big Ang pizza. Margherita, of course, was a solid staple, and the Big Ang with italian sausage and banana peppers was excellent. Paired with a glass of red wine and it was a perfectly enjoyable evening. Got the hankering for Detroit-style pizza? Check it out!

Yelp
We placed an order for delivery through DoorDash. We ordered the MVP (vodka sauce, red sauce and pesto) and a Make It Your Own (red sauce, vegan cheese, mushrooms, and pepperoni). This was my first time trying Detroit style pizza and I was a huge fan! I liked how the crust was thick and chewy but still crispy on the edges. I thought the vegan cheese was really good and melted nicely onto the crust. They were generous with the toppings so i was a fan. My husband loved the MVP. He said the sauces were really good and he would definitely order here again. Next time, I'd love to try the pizzas at the restaurant when they are fresh.
