So it’s an ideal counterpart to a slice dripping with mozzarella. Head to Emmy Squared in Queen Village for crispy Detroit-style pizza (we’re especially into the margherita with piles of creamy burrata, but you can’t go wrong here). They also make a solid burger (Le Big Matt), plus waffle fries, mozz sticks, and crispy chicken bites for those with a less, ahem, sophisticated palate. Unlike some other rooftop spots, the tables here are first come, first serve. So if you come for weekend brunch filled with pitchers of Bloody Mary's and a few slices of The Hangover pie topped with creamy smoked gouda, fried eggs, and bacon, prepare to come early to grab a seat. They focus on crispy Detroit-style pan pizza, with options like a margarita with piles of creamy burrata, and The Angel, topped with a truffle-y mushroom cream, ricotta, and mushrooms. And while the neighborhood loves the thick and pillowy crust, you can, too—the gluten-free version has the same level of quality as the original.
