Empanada Mama & The Pie Man

Recommend: The savory pie was great! The empanadas were not bad, just okay, the pie was the winner though for sure and will come back to try more. We had BBQ pork with Mac and cheese pie. Best would be to take home with you a few pies and warm up in the oven. I will be back.

These meat pies are reminiscent of traditional English pies i have had in London. The Guiness stout gravy reduction is savory and viscose. The crust is buttery and flakey that compliments the hearty steak! But even more english is the ubiquitous India cuisine influence which is prominent in the chicken curry empanada. Its simply flavorful!!

Hungry for chicken pot pie I picked one up last night along with more empanadas! The chicken pie was amazing! The crust was buttery, flakey, delicious, just the right amount of caramelization and the filling was superb, tender and moist chicken chunks, perfectly cooked carrots and peas that still had a little crunch to them! They had a piece of mango pineapple pie, sold! What an amazing meal! Run and support this locally owned business! Great new empanada and pie take-out in Lakeview! Amazing, authentic empanadas, delicious filling, great service, locally owned business! Run, don't walk over to N Broadway in Lakeview!

We ordered 2 empanadas, a savory pie, a mini pumpkin pie and a slice of pecan pie. The savory pie (BBQ pulled pork & Mac and cheese) was amazing. The buffalo chicken & blue cheese empanada was okay. The chicken was a bit dry. The jalapeño, chorizo & ricotta empanada was super spicy. Overall, we would definitely come back to try other savory pies.

Great food and quick service! Shared some pies and empanadas - both being delicious! They were cooked to order. The staff member was great. Definitely would come back.

Best place for Peacan Pie in Lincoln Park area! Very friendly people work here that provide amazing customer service. The goodies that you can buy here will not disappoint. I tried their pecan pie once, but keep coming back for more!

My first time at Empanada Mama and The Pie Man I bought a buffalo chicken and bleu cheese empanada and a spinach feta cheese and apricot empanada. They were both delicious and I fell in love with the homemade chimmichurri sauce!! The next time I went back I picked up a variety of nine empanadas, extra chimmichurri sauce and a slice of pumpkin pie! I can’t wait to go back <3

The curry pies we got were out of this world!! The beef and guinness was great too, as were the 3 empanadas we tried but wow @ the south african beef curry pie & the veggie.
