"The western edge of the Inland Empire is seemingly blessed with a bevy of Argentinian fast-casual restaurants. Operating on a to-go only basis, Empanadas 2 Go offers traditional Argentinian-style empanadas including the criolla and salteña, barbecue pork, and carnitas. A delicious choripan sandwich, empanada, and drink will run customers less than $20, though it’s always a good idea to grab an empa-dog (an all beef hot dog with melted cheese, wrapped in empanada dough) too." - Sean Vukan

Yelp
We ordered a variety of fried empanadas. They were $3.15 each so it gets expensive to order 10. We enjoyed them and the service was good also. I will be back if I am in the area.

Anibal R.

Yelp
I messed up with actual address went by memory but after a second try I found it and got several flavors Chicken beef cheese spinach all of them so good. Everyone at home can't just have one. You shouldn't either.

Leeann M.

Yelp
Tasty empanadas at an affordable price. Note, as of May 2023: the veggie empanadas cost the same price as the meat options, although they're listed as cheaper online. Still a good price, though. Lots of flavor options. The standard chicken and the cheese and onion are my favorite two empanadas. You must get the chimichurri sauce. It's delish and elevates the taste. Also great are the Canoncitos (pastry filled with dulce de leche and sprinkled with powdered sugar) that are in the refrigerator. Not made there, you just grab them and add to your order. SO good! This isn't a dine-in restaurant. It's a small space that takes to-go orders only.

Yelp
As the name implies this place is to go only. The fried empanadas are quicker to prepare than the baked. We ordered a half dozen fried empanadas in assorted flavors and we loved them all. My favorite was the pepperoni and cheese and ham and cheese. I highly recommend getting the chimichurri sauce.

Luis D.

Yelp
Very good both fried and baked. A lot of flavors wot choose from savory to sweet. My only complaint is that they close too early. (7pm)

Ruben S.

Yelp
Fried or baked both are amazing empanadas and the service is great. The place is small but the flavor are powerful

Yelp
Long overdue review!! I have been coming to Empanadas to Go for over 10 years!! I absolutely love this place. Best empanadas, hands down. Moved to SD five years ago and still stop there any time I get the chance. Love all the S. American sodas and treats that they also carry. Must try if you love empanadas.

Kimberly G.

Yelp
I ordered the beef empanadas hot, great flavor and everyone at the party ate them up. The only downside was I asked that they be wrapped up nice and tight with foil since I was heading out to Banning, I found out they weren't when the bag opened up and almost dumped them on the ground. They were only packed in the styrofoam container. I was lucky they didn't land on the floor. So I'll make sure to check the packing instead of taking their word for it. 4-star was for the flavor & customer service. The lack of the 5th star was no wrapping it up per my instructions.

Yelp
Oh my wow! We were in the area and looking for a snack to hold us over before we met up for a meal. My husband suggested this place and in glad he did! We got 5 empanadas fried, and all were delicious. I like that they're made fresh and you can choose fried or baked. We called the order in and it took about 10 minutes to complete. Here's what we got: Chicken - Nice and flavorful Spicy Chicken - The same as the chicken but with a small kick. To me it wasn't spicy. Veggie - This had great flavor as well. There was cheese in it. But it wasn't a lot. Corn and cheese - Yummy with a little sweetness Spinach and Cheese - This had plenty of spinach that was seasoned well. There was also a little piece of egg on there which was a surprise. If I'm ever in this area again and need a bite I'll definitely be back to try more!

Yelp
Picked up two dozen empanadas on the way to an away football game. The empanadas were delicious! We picked up the fried empanadas and tried all the savory non spicy ones from Pepperoni, Beef, Carnitas, etc in which all were tasty and delicious. I wish they were closer to where I live because I would be here all the time. So give this place a try you will be happy you did.

Shana R.

Yelp
We discovered this place a long time ago and have not been back in years! Happy to see it's still here and just as tasty as ever. We got the spicy beef and veggie empanadas. Super flakey crust and Hubs said the beef is actually pretty spicy. My veggie was also super tasty. The chimichurri is on point and a generous portion for each empenada. Come support this small shop!

Sho K.

Yelp
First time trying this place out. I got empanadas (Saltena, Spicy Carnitas, Chicken). Spicy Carnitas was my fav one!! Chicken was least fav. I'm not sure if it was ground chicken. I was expecting shredded or chunks of chicken, but looked like ground meat. Maybe o was given the ground beef *shrugs*. It was just okay.for me. Saltena wasn't too bad, but the spicy carnitas was really good. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
What are empanadas? Empanadas are either baked or fried basically, a turnover consisting of pastry and filling (sweet or savory) Originally from Spain, Southern European, Latin American and even Iberian-influenced cultures. Variations include Italian calzones or panzerotti, British pasties, American hot pockets, Russian chebureki and Crimeanian fleischkuekle. Argentina considers empanadas to be their national dish and have progressed throughout history to become one of the most popular and eminent Latin American food staples and still enjoyed till this day. Empanadas to go offer authentic home-style empanadas, subs, pizzas and desserts. I tried two of their empanadas since I had just come from lunch. The popular criolla which consists of ground beef, olives, raisins, eggs and onions. The Saltena; finely chopped steak, potatoes, red pepper and onion. Lastly, the seasonal peach empanada. Both the savory empanadas were absolutely delicious seasoned to perfection and was served very hot! The seasonal peach empanada was tasty but because I was so full, I took a couple bites and decided to save it for after dinner. The only recommendation I have for patrons is to eat the empanadas hot and fresh because they do not hold very well.

Yelp
We love coming here before Christmas to load up on empanadas. Been coming here for 3 years now, and they never disappoint. It's a bit of a drive for us, but it's worth it.

Tiffany N.

Yelp
One of the best empanada places I've been to! You can either choose it fried or baked (I preferred the fried kinds) it's so yummy! Our go to are the steak & cheese, beef and spinach/cheese. Their phones are always not working - so just walk in. They are usually quick.

Chel R.

Yelp
Always the best empanadas hands down. I live in San Diego but whenever I pay a visit to see my family I have to stop by & order wt least 8 empanadas to myself. LOL. My fave of course is the cordobeza. You will not be disappointed & I always get mine fried. Wished you guys had another chain in LA or SD.

Jameson S.

Yelp
Phenomenal and authentic Argentine food! Love the Salteña, Criolla, Spicy Beef, and cheese empanadas the most. I've had every single option on the list (I come every week or so) and have never been disappointed! The owner and workers are always nice and remember my orders which I love and I appreciate the family atmosphere this place has. Definitely 10/10 recommend for anyone even if you haven't had empanadas before!!!

Adora B.

Yelp
The worst empanadas I have ever had! Purchased during Christmas. People were standing in line pensively waiting for their order ...so you would think it was good... IT IS NOT. You will find a random egg or olive & it's just a salty mess inside each empanada. And get this, they use CANNED sweet potato in the sweet potato pies-yuck! Tasted like a can, metallic taste. How hard is it to bake & puree fresh sweet potatoes & make a real sweet potato empanada? Apple empanadas had no taste..??? - How is that possible? Canned cheap apples that's why. Rating: ZERO, if option. Not worth a single calorie!!!! Threw them in the trash ...waste of time, gas & money!

Ming T.

Yelp
As the name suggest the food is to-go. No seating inside or out. The empanadas you have the option of baked or fried. I asked for their recommendation and was told fried so I went with it. The ingredients inside was great but it was too doughy. I thought perhaps it was undercooked but even after popping it in my toaster oven it was the same except hot. I ordered a container of the chimichurri and it was lackluster. I think the picture speaks for itself. If I'm the area this is a decent option but I would not personally go out of my way. Very friendly staff and also other items offered to include desserts.

Michele L.

Yelp
Argentinian empanadas...you can get them baked or fried. No seating inside so you'll have to take them to go. We tried the Steak & Cheese and Salteñas, which are my favorite. It has chopped steak, potatoes, red bell peppers and onion filling. The empanadas are crispy and flaky! Comes with chimichurri sauce.

Ysidro S.

Yelp
You can walk in an order to go ,you are greeted by a friendly worker, they have over 10+ different kinds of empanadas, from sweet to savory, what ever your heart desires, you can get them deep fried or baked ,we got got ours deep fried of course ,they taste flacky and crispy,I would ask for more flavor in the steak,to make it pop,the bbq was my favorite,y'all rock & and roll, humble and quick service.

Elsa G.

Yelp
Always a family function favorite. Every flavor is amazing The chutney sauce is a must for the empanadas

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
I've been craving some empanadas and came here one day to try their sandwiches as well. Their choripan sandwich ($7.99) and prosciutto and cheese sandwich ($7.99) are great. Their empanadas are $2.69 each and chose to get the saltena, spicy beef, criolla, beef, and corobesa which are part of their savory empanadas. The empanadas have ground beef, hard boiled eggs, onions, olives, and raisins. The only difference between the criolla and cordobesa is that the cordobesa has sugar in it and is a bit too sweet for me. The criolla is my favorite of the flavors. They can be either fried or baked and they're filled thoroughly. The dough was flaky and the chimichurri sauce is good too for all the different flavors. The choripan is grilled Argentinean sausage with chimichurri, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise on soft white bread. It was flavorful and not too heavy or oily with the chimichurri. The prosciutto and cheese sandwich was good, they gave a good amount of prosciutto slices with tomatoes, lettuce, and mayonnaise. It's a hassle to get out of the plaza. The lady was nice.

Lisa B.

Yelp
The empanadas are so tasty! My friend brought me here the first time a few years ago. It is an order, wait, and go type of place. So if you aren't expecting this, still give it a chance! It is about 15 minutes from my house, and when we get back the empanadas are still piping hot. The chicken and beef are my favorite. A go to for sure!

Riley M.

Yelp
Discovered this place recently and am obsessed! I've been a few times to pick up empanadas for myself and my family. We've tried the corn & cheese, regular & spicy chicken, dulce de leche, apple, & pineapple. So many flavors to choose from. They also have subs/sandwiches & pastries as well. Highly recommend!

Jorge R.

Yelp
Having never tried Argentinian food before I was curious so decided to try it out. Only tried their empanadas and they were all delicious. I asked for recommendations and tried one of each. Great service and friendly staff I might add. Favorite was the spicy chicken and saltaña I believe. The criolla empanada was delicious as well. Sweet but tangy at the same time. Highly recommend. It's to go as there is no indoor seating but still worth it. 10/10

J S.

Yelp
Wow wow wow !! I had the spicy beef empanada and it was SO GOOD. The meat was seasoned to perfection. There's nothing I could have added to make it better. The chimmichuri sauce complimented it so well . I also had the dulce de leche that was amazing as well !! Service was really good to! I love to support a local business and this is one that makes it easy !

Jaz R.

Yelp
The food and service was above our expectations. We unfortunately received a wrong order, and not only did they offer to refund the whole order but they replaced it too and were really amazing in handling the situation. I will 100% be going back and enjoying their amazing empanadas again. My favorite were the spicy carnitas and spicy beef

Natalia B.

Yelp
Finally found my go to spot for delicious empanadas! Ordered 3 dozen for the Argentina World Cup game final on Sunday and boy were they good! Definitely the best around, I drove from Covina to try these. I also ordered a dozen sandwiches de miga and they were great too. All my friends loved the steak and cheese and ham and cheese the best but my fav were the traditional criolla. Absolutely will be back for more. So happy they aren't too far.

June S.

Yelp
Food is very well done and flavorful. Fried is much better but baked is healthier. I still recommend fried. Service is really good but ambiance is a 1.

Heather U.

Yelp
Highly recommend the empanadas here. I tried the sweet and wasn't a fan but the meat and the cheese ones are amazing! So fresh and try them baked or fried, delicious taste and friendliest staff. I called and ordered and it was ready in 15 mins. I also learned they have catering and can deliver as well! Ask for their most popular, I forgot the name but it starts with a C. Their other items also look appetizing . Highly recommend try this place if you're in the area!!

Paulino P.

Yelp
Awesome Argentinean empanadas! Called in for a sorta large order of 60 Criolla empanadas. Isabella took my phone order. She's courteous, friendly, very professional and knowledgeable. On the day I picked up the order, store was clean and the smell of empanadas cooking was very soothing. Staff are friendly and courteous. Paid for the order and this awesome lady offered to bring the food in my car, which was a really nice gesture. I will be coming back to this place and would order more delicious Criolla empanadas! Emapanadas are well seasoned, great amount of stuffing, cooked to perfection. You can order them baked or fried. We got the baked ones. But we'll order the fried ones next time. Oh and don't forget the chimichuri. Pairs well with..... well, everything! Put that thing on a flip flop and it becomes a meal! Just kidding, don't do that.

Gisele L.

Yelp
Really disappointed that the half dozen empanadas I ordered are smaller then before. They also now charge you for chimichurri sauce which before it came with your order of empanadas. Prices have gone up drastically to $2.99 per empanada. Also every time I go there the employee doesn't greet you and looks like they are miserable being there. This little tiny hole in the wall doesn't give you an inviting feeling when you walk in. I will no longer support this local business and go to new empanada place down the street. The name is Furnos in Ontario and has great reviews on there food and has a nice inside seating area if you want to enjoy your food there. Not sure why after so many years empanadas to go still have bad customer service!!!

Rochelle B.

Yelp
I've been coming here for a while now- absolutely delicious quality 10/10, service 10/10 and it's family owned! Then they did this... truly warmed my heart and brought a smile to my face after working 12 hours in the hospital- it was needed. Love this place!

Rhina M.

Yelp
The first time I had tried it was when it was gifted to me. I had the beef and my husband had the pork. It was perfectly seasoned. The beef was on a saltier side though. I also make empanadas and the dough is very similar of how I make it. I love the variety of filling they offer. The 2nd time I had it was a couple of days ago. I had to try the spicy chicken and apple empanadas. It truly hits the spot! The level of heat is just right! The flavor explodes in your mouth. The apple empanada is perfectly sweetened and gooey delish! I don't have any pictures as I couldn't wait to devour all of them. Kuddos to this establishment as they cook to order and has been around for over a decade. I will definitely be back for more empanadas to try!

Arn L.

Yelp
I've been wanting to visit this place for a while. Have been looking forward to it. We tried the Criolla, steak & cheese, chicken, and carnitas. I asked Dakota which was the best seller and she said the Salteña. Too bad they were out of their best seller. We tried them fried. The Criolla and the chicken were our favorites but we need to go again to try the Salteña. They were receiving a lot of phone calls and I had to wait for two calls before I could order. Maybe they should take care of the customer standing in front of them. Just saying!

Andrew G.

Yelp
The place is clean and welcoming, they know how to treat customers and know how to make the food, Only been here a couple times and i always end up satisfied

Aliza C.

Yelp
The cravings for baked Argentinian Empanadas are REAL! The aroma is like no other. Anytime I head to the inland empire, I always plan to stop here on my way back home. My family's faves are saltenas, spicy beef/chicken, steak and cheese, and bbq pork. We've tried many other fillings but seem to revert back to the faves. Recently their oven was being repaired so I purchased empanadas to bake at home. No worries. They were still delicious. I appreciate and support family owned businesses.

Jerri W.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the spicy chicken and beef . Made fresh. Flavor is amazing . Service was good

Tracey P.

Yelp
My go to spot for empanadas now. It's a small family owned business with a variety of flavors. After trying a few different kinds, my favorite that tends to be in the juicier side and not so dry is the saltana, carnitas, and steak cheese! All are so good! Am for sure going to be a frequent returning customer

Timothy B.

Yelp
It was not my favorite. It was just ok. I was expecting a little more. It reminded me of food that I cook but not restaurant quality.

Josue M.

Yelp
This review is long coming. I've had sweet and savory empanadas and all have been awesome. I had them fried. Loved the fact that the sweet empanadas were not all sugary but flavorful. The savory ones had great filling and the chimichurri sauce was so tasty. I look forward to going back and picking some up to share with my friends.

Jenny S.

Yelp
Empanada shop that makes everything fresh! A gem in the rough The fiance ordered his empanadas fried while I ordered baked both are good! The empanadas are served with chimichurri or Tapatio (our fav hot sauce) ---spinach & cheese: a good vegetarian option! ---spicy beef: our favorite of the meat empanadas we tried (we also had spicy chicken and pork) NOTE: CALL IN your order if you dont want to wait, they fry and bake your empanadas FRESH upon ordering (baking takes around 15 minutes, frying around 5)

Alex B.

Yelp
TL;DR Selling point: Fantastic crunchy pastry shell and delicious fillings. I am absolutely over the moon that my friend helped me to discover this place! This little shop in this Mountain Crossroads shopping plaza is a definite gem, and it is my new, fave spot. I'm a big fan of empanadas and this place serves some of the best empanadas I have ever had. I'm actually craving more of them as I write this review. Service: The service is great. Both cashiers I had were quite friendly and polite. Interior décor: The inside of the shop is quite cozy. There's a little shelf of glass pots and other trinkets on sale towards the middle wall of the shop (and the menu is hung above that). In the back area, there are some refrigerators that contain the drinks as well as some of their cakes and other dessert items. I love the little trinkets, posters, and other things they have on the wall and cash register. Bonus points for the Heihei from Moana xD. Food: The empanadas are absolutely a must-have at this place! They offer two versions of their empanadas - baked and fried. With all of my orders today, I got the fried version. I really liked that crunchier and flaky bite that you get with the fried version. The pastry shell has a great homemade quality to it. For each order, I waited about 5-10 minutes, but it is WELL worth it because those pastry pies of goodness came out tasty and piping hot. Each empanada is about $2.69 (as of 2/7/2021) and they are about palm sized. No worries, though, these things are packed full. I would say for an average hungry eater, you're going to want about 2-3 of these. I decided to get a sampling of a sweet and a savory empanada. For sweet, I ordered their Apple (Manzana) Empanada. Again, that wonderful crunchy exterior was well complimented with the light, snowy covering of frosted sugar. The inside was filled with fragrant chunks of apple mixed with that wonderful cinnamon and cloves. It's like a superb version of an apple turnover (but I like this exterior much more). I absolutely endorse trying the Spicy Beef Empanada, which was my savory choice for this trip (also a high recommendation from my buddy). This thing is packed with juicy morsels of ground beef that are leveled up by some nice heat from their spicy seasonings, egg, onions, and olives. What I like is that the spice is not the burning kind but instead the type that adds to the overall flavors. I liked this place so much that I immediately went back inside to order some to take home and share with my family members. I am definitely looking forward to trying the other empanadas on their menu (though I think I'm going to stick with the savory side of it).

Marisol F.

Yelp
We keep coming back for more, this place is fast clean and their empanadas delicious. Always fresh . The only thing I would complain is that you pay for the chimichuri lol but is ok I can make my own. I recommend this place !! They are convenient close to the freeway exit. My favorites are the criollas and the apple , my husband like the steak one.

R C.

Yelp
We've been buying empanadas at this store. I always crave for the original/criolla empanada. It has ground beef, onions, eggs, olives and raisins. It's very tasty and crunchy (if fried). My goodness the beef empanada is tender and juicy. You have the option if you want your empanada baked (longer wait 10-15 mins) or fried (fastest around 5 mins).

Kaye V.

Yelp
Baked over fried for sure. Call in advance to cut the wait. Empanadas are the best around.

Peter R.

Yelp
I was walking along the back of the restaurant and came along the owner of this restaurant, I spoke to her for 2 mins and she could see that I was homeless and hungry. She offered me some food out of the Goodness of her heart and I must say THEY WERE AWESOME!!! God Bless this place and bless her business to overflow. If your in the area stop by it's great food and leave her a tip for me

Cookie H.

Yelp
Wow! Family owned and operated. These empanadas are made to order. I tried their carne, spinach, queso con cebolla. All very delicious and crunchy! The chimichurri was also spot on. When I was leaving I noticed they had an empanada de cajeta ! I will most definitely come back to try more stuff from their menu.
