Visited the Empire recently, the food and service were great! Lovely little place, and definitely worth the visit, in a great and vibrant location.

I am having to post this my husband ordered us a Indian from this restaurant yesterday 21st october. This is normally our favourite restaurant to.order a delivery. But was very disappointed in food. The chicken tikka main was only 4 small bits of chicken and no mint sauce with it and the meat was cold. The other dish was chicken tikka mandala which was cold. The nan bread was burnt not edible. And ordered poppadoms didnt come with order. And sag also was cold and rice. The meat was chewy. We ordered through deliveroo delivery didnt take long so why was it cold. Called the restaurant about the poppadoms and how food was and just got told been busy. No apologies. Didnt offer to send out poppadoms or do anything about food. So my hubby took it up through deliveroo. Got some credit back through them. Was very disappointed. As especially never had issues before with them food has been good.

A lovely restaurant on the busy high road. A family friendly atmosphere with a traditional feel of a Indian. We came with ten colleagues for an evening meal. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Starters of Poppadom and chutney sauce never go wrong and came out very fast and this place made it even special as you didn’t have to ask for chutney refills staff would automatically refill it. Main mixed starters of chicken, prawn tikka and kebabs again out very fast. The food was hot, fresh, well presented and tasted delicious. Staff were always around if you needed drinks or anything extra. Staff cleared the starter plates quickly and main was served within a few minutes. We ordered a mix of different curries from king prawn madras, meat bhuna, chicken tikka curry, lamb shank and vegetable dansak. The food was very tasty, fresh, well flavoured and not to overly spiced just perfect for everyone to enjoy. After our main which everyone enjoyed we settled down to a nice cup of tea. I would highly recommend this place, beautiful food & drink, lovely staff and a great Indian restaurant atmosphere. Hope to visit again soon!!

Best Indian meal I've had in years. Onion bajees were the best I've had and the Lamb Dhansak was extremely tasty with a generous amount of meat. Service was excellent and the price was very reasonable. I'll be going back.

Good quality food and large portions. Very tasty, and served hot. Recommended

Great evening with our group of 9 people. The staff accommodated us our request, and did not rush us to finish and leave, even though it was 11pm. We had a Lamb Bhuna but asked them to add Shatkora, which they did. Also made pani puri starter for us, but that was pre booked last week.

Very good tasty Indian food with excellent service by the staffs ,must try place if you are around shenfield , Chelmsford or Brentwood

The items on the menu aren't labelled vegan but the staff, manager and chef are very aware and can advise on which items are vegan! This is the second time we have come and it's delicious no frills Indian food. We ordered pilau rice and they came to tell us it was not vegan which showed extra consideration, very impressed.
