En Root Peckham - Review - Peckham - London - The Infatuation

"En Root is a mood-improver of a restaurant. The Peckham spot serves rainbow plates of Indian vegan food, only surpassed in brightness by the yellow walls, colourful, mismatched bench seats, and patterned fabric tablecloths. Friendly staff stop by for a chat and to suggest dishes—we agree, the tandoori 'wings' are a highlight. Some of the food can be a little bland, like the underwhelming jerk dosa and chana dahl which needed a douse of their raja bonnet sauce to liven it up. But it's a good spot to know about in the area for leisurely meet-ups, sponsored by moreish samosa chaat and cardamom-heavy mango lassis. photo credit: En Root photo credit: En Root" - Sinéad Cranna

We managed to get the perfect outdoor table for 10 of us!! Everything was delicious especially the plantain with tamarind and the tandoori wings! I also tried the watermelon beetroot juice which was sooo good too. Really recommend not just if you’re vegan :>

This place has the best vibes. I had the Masala Dosa meal and I practically inhaled it, it was so delicious. The Chaitini (Chai Espresso Martini) is absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to try the rest of the cocktails on offer here! The Rose and sea salt ice cream (vegan) was beautiful, and very refreshing after my meal. The staff were lovely too! I’l be back soon for sure :)

This was our first visit, and early in the meal we started discussing which friends we wanted to bring with us next time. 😋 Absolute comfort food, a chill vibe, and gracious service (Thanks Jacob!). Really lovely experience overall. 🥰 We had the sharing thali for 2 in order to sample as many dishes as possible. Gorgeous food from start to finish. 🤌 Looking forward to coming back soon! 🤤

Hippie place with Indian fusion food. I tried their raja & mushroom wraps. Both were quite unique and flavorful. I also loved the food presentation. The staff was sweet and offered good service. They also have WiFi.

Delicious delicious delicious. We shared a big sharing entrée, had a delectable meal each and mango lassi and were stuffed. About 25£ each which is slightly pricey but absolutely worth it for a special day! Also cute decor and homey vibes.

Big love to En Root. The food is inspired. It’s like a fusion of different south London cultures on one plate. The staff are the best, the decor is vibey and colourful, and the drinks are heavenly. The owners are genuinely the friendliest guys and you can tell they have a good rapport with their staff.

We ate at En Root yesterday. I had high hopes but was very disappointed. The food wasn't good, it was bland. I'm trying to think of the best way to describe it. I suppose you could say its more of a home-cooked meal rather than restaurant quality. It looked okay on the plate but there was no taste, spices, it was just bland. I noticed that the staff were dishing out the food from stainless steel food warmers. So not sure if there is a kitchen on-site or someone brings in the food. There as a table of two and four when we sat down and our food took about half an hour to arrive at our table. The staff were friendly though. The food was also reasonably priced which was good. We liked the drinks. The interiors are tired and need painting. Sorry to say that the food is not good but I have to be honest.

I’m not actually vegan myself but I always love eating here. It’s one of the only places I take myself on solo dates because it’s such a vibe inside and the staff are so friendly and I feel so comfortable. The food is absolutely another level. Being vegan would be easy if I could eat like this every day. Cocktails are delicious and honestly I always forget how good my body feels after eating vegan food. 10/10 experience. Love u en root!!!
