London’s Best East African Restaurants: Ethiopian, Eritrean, and Somali | Eater London

"Old Kent Road is home to an array of international communities, representing all corners of sub-Saharan Africa, from Tunisian bakeries to Nigerian diners and a number of east African hot spots. The most popular of the latter is Enat Gauda. The menu is markedly simple compared to others on this list, with a simple choice of meat or veg, consisting of whatever selection of the cuisine has been prepped for that day." - Riaz Phillips

Amazing food!! The most beautiful, delicious vegan Ethiopian food in London by a mile, plus extremely affordable and generous portions! Only downside is that it took about 45 minutes to cook, and spinach instead of collard greens (and no cabbage), but SO worth it. Such kind staff as well, with the server literally going to buy napkins when we asked for them and giving us extra injera without being asked. Highly highly recommend!

This was the first time I was having Ethiopian food. O my my it was delicious 🤤. I really enjoyed the food. Waiting time was too long. Like 40 minutes but the food was really good👌🏽. I was in that area wanted to try something then I went to this place and ordered food. They told us it’s going to take long so I went around do some shopping for home and went back to the restaurant. That’s why the waiting time didn’t bother me much. Maybe you can call the restaurant before you go. Staff was very nice and friendly. Highly recommended. 👍🏽

Wait time maybe too long when online order but worth the wait as the food is soo good! Favourites are tibs-firfir, awaze tibs and and bozena-shiro! Their customer service is A++

Just delicious, light and a very happy warm place to come! Tea was great! I really enjoyed the vibe here. I would like to come again and try something different.

I've tried many Ethiopian places in the area and this is by far the best I've had.. I now order nearly once a week from here and it never disappoints. The injera is the best I've had, so fluffy. We always go for the vegan special with some shiro wot- really good portion size. It's just so tasty, one of my favourite places to get a takeaway.

I love this place so much, one of my favourite Ethiopian places to eat as a vegetarian, the food is delicious and the owners are absolutely lovely people. I will always come back here

Friendly staff, nice food and lovely space. Just to let you know that they serve halal meat, and their food is as fresh as you can get. In addition, they have the bolt external charger that you can rent.

Just the best Ethiopian in the area in my opinion. We have mainly the veg option and it’s delicious! The spices are great and not like anything we’ve had elsewhere. We really like Naomi’s friendly service. Thanks for all the food we’ve had!
