Engel Bar

Went on a Monday night so it was fairly quiet but wasn't empty. Staff were attentive and friendly. The oysters were a nice treat and the hot dogs were delicious. Well presented and very tasty. We had the beef version. The decor is rich and warm. The location inside the Royal Exchange gives it a unique feel. From our table we could look over the bars on the ground floor of the exchange. All in all a really good place to visit.

I hope this bar in named after Friedrich Engels. The man who financed Karl marx. If this is the case, I would love this bar even more. This bar is in the middle of the royal exchange in Bank and as you can see from the pictures and video, it looks divine. The staff are incredibly nice, they pay attention to your order making sure you're happy. Somebody once told me that a good bar has an excellent bathroom, the statement is true in this case, the bathroom facilities are clean, they have soap as well as moisturizer as well. If you're in the bank area and you want to have a drink. Come here, the Engel bar will not disappoint 😊

Amazing experience ! Originally came to have a drink for a date night but ended up ordering food as well. We each had two drinks including Die Elite, Lavender, Royal Express ad Manhattan. They all were good surprises. For the food we ordered the steak frites and Der Elegant (truffle mayonnaise, fig jam and crispy mignons Hot Dog). The hot dog was really the favourite of the night, all the ingredients blended in perfectly together, the truffle was the optimal intensity (not too strong but present enough). Thank you to the whole team for this incredible evening.

We visited for cocktails and appreciated their creativity, though they are a bit pricey at around £18 each. I tried the Der Prinz von Berlin and the rhubarb fizz. The atmosphere is sophisticated and nice given it's in the Royal Exchange. Service was a little inattentive but still polite.

This is one of the finest bars I've visited in London. I was surprised by how incredible the cocktails are at the Engel Bar in Royal Exchange. 😍The live jazz music adds a nostalgic 1920s vibe. Highly recommended🍹

Amazing place to visit, cocktails was unreal,design and taste impressive!! Also such an amazing experience with one of the bartenders Samuel, he provided the best service and impressed with a ‘Scandal’ cocktail !! Beautiful and fancy place ,really recommend to visit and try the best cocktails in London!!

Beautiful venue at the front of the Royal Exchange - really cosy. The food (vegan hotdog and fries), drink (rosé and an orange & grapefruit soda) and location were all wonderful but it was the staff that really made this such a great trip. Thanks to David for being welcoming, attentive and friendly but not overbearing. We witnessed an obnoxious woman who clearly thought she was in the Fortnum & Mason cafe, be extremely rude to him and to another member of staff, and they both dealt with it so beautifully and professionally. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks, guys!

It is a beautiful place to share, to experience and defenetly to come back. We had the opportunity to visit this place on one of their live music evenings, and it was awesome! The service is great, and they treat you as family. The food is superb a touch of korean and bavarean Special thanks to their GM Jose, Kim, Erika, Olga, Mihai and all others.
