Catskills Restaurants Host ‘Severance’ Finale Party in Upstate New York | Eater NY

"A neighborhood restaurant that stood in for a Chinese restaurant called Zufu in season two of the series (and whose team had shared 'cute photos of props from the filming'); its owners are co-hosting the finale screening and will be serving their Chinese fare at the event." - Nadia Chaudhury

My partner Justin and I went to Eng's as part of our Severance-filming-location trip. We actually got there way too early and stuck around the area, checking out little shops for hours before they opened and we are SO GLAD we did. We got there right when the dining room opened and were geeking out the whole time about the place - the lighting, the art that was left up in the scene in Severance, the awesome owner and waiter. It was all great. The mai tai was amazing as was the veggie lo mein and spare ribs. We can't wait to go back someday soon!! Thanks to the staff for being so kind and funny and letting us take a bunch of pictures.

Eng’s - an icon! Amazing food, atmosphere, and efficient service! All of the classics are there! When in Kingston, Eng’s is a must! When you step into the beautiful and iconic dining room of Eng’s, you embark on more than just a culinary experience. The world around you transforms into a sanctuary of relaxation, peace, and love. Every worry melts away, replaced by smiles, meaningful conversations, and joyous celebrations. Thank you, Eng’s, for creating this haven for myself, my family, and my friends for so many wonderful years.

Engs is an institution. The food is good, the service is super friendly, and the prices are very affordable. There's no wonder they've been around for almost a hundred years! I'm thrilled that they recently reopened the dining room.

Nostalgic is how I feel about this place. Reminds me of a classic Chinese American restaurant. The food is also reminiscent of times past; with the serving of noodles, hot mustard, duck sauce, and black tea to start.

I am an Ng without the E, and I love a dine-in Chinese restaurant because the food is always better freshly cooked without plastic waste. Eng's has great old-school ambiance, friendly service, and delicious food and cocktails. So happy to see the dining room open again. My husband and I went on Valentine's Day early at 5 and got the buffet to sample a variety of dishes. Fantastic egg rolls. Everything was excellent. We tried the egg foo yung, which I never order, and it was surprisingly tasty to me. When we left, there was a big crowd waiting for tables. We will be back to order off the menu.

Great food, great service, great drinks, great prices. Wish we got knives or chop sticks. Otherwise love it and recommend it to everyone

First time diner at Eng's after living nearly a decade in Kingston. We kept meaning to try, then they were closed for years due to Covid issues. It's really nice inside and bigger than you might think from the outside. Plenty of seating, lots of comfy booths. Super friendly and attentive service. Clearly lots of regulars who got hugs from staff and management. As for the food, it was just okay. The standout was the egg roll -- super crispy and packed with ingredients...the mustard dipping sauce is really potent, so watch out! We had orange beef, General Tso's chicken, broccoli in spicy sauce, and pork fried rice. Everything was nicely prepared, professionally presented, but to be honest the sauces need more flavor. A bit too bland, but certainly acceptable. We did enjoy ourselves and loved the service, so we intend to go back and also do takeout...hoping to discover some standout dishes for our palates. It is certainly a Kingston institution since the 1920s and gets a lot of love from longtime locals.

Very old-school. A carafe of tea dropped on the table without us asking, very kind and generous. Wonderful wait staff. Unfortunately, that vintage style includes the menu. Very heavy on the sodium and starch in all the sauces. Fried rice doused in soy sauce to give it a dark color instead of using aromatics and letting it crisp up in the pan. Limited variation in the vegetarian section. That being said... I would love to go for just cocktails, as their menu looks to have all the old school drinks in fancy drink ware.
