5 Best Day Trips from Tokyo | Condé Nast Traveler

"A modified fisherman's shanty located right where the canal meets the sea, Enoshima Koya specializes in chirashizushi: fresh-from-the-ocean fish and nori covering a bed of rice. The lunchtime set menu comes with a small soup and homemade pickles; pick the "makanai-don," which is topped with a delectable sesame-miso sauce. The food may be a couple hundred yen more than other spots in the area, but savvy travelers know it's worth the visit." - Brandon Presser

It's a hidden restaurant right next to the aquarium, with great ambiance. Allows you to eat right on front of the water. Definitely feels like a higher end restaurant though the prices are still very fair.

Came here in Feb 2025 for breakfast before we crossed over to Enoshima Island. There was a short queue because it was a public holiday; once inside, the atmosphere was great with ocean views. Service was fast and attentive. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the fisherman’s breakfast. Highly recommend.

Hidden gem near Enoshima. We came for dinner and were very impressed by the fresh ingredients, friendly staff and great view over the water. Aside from the rice bowls, it offers seasonal menu featuring fresh seafood and local products. The rice bowl, grilled fish, fish livers, and salad were all great. We were seated at the outdoor areas and enjoyed the great view. Would definitely come back if we're around Enoshima in the future.

I have a great experience at this nice seafood restaurant. Having the famous different kinds of local fish , they cooked in different ways and it is so very good. Enjoying the beautiful scenery of the bay, the views outside the windows are just like many hanging pictures on the wall. Hope to bring my family to come next time.

This place usually has a long line waiting to get in, but sometimes right before the typical lunch time on a weekday, you get lucky and encounter a somewhat a short line :) On hot and sunny days, they have the sun-blocking umbrellas and water server for the guests to use while they wait in the line outside. They also have restrooms outside as well for those of us waiting. Food is not cheap, but filling and reasonable considering the location and and the menu is mostly fish... which usually says "Market price." Presentation of the food is really nice and you can make a "set" (or a rice and miso soup combo) with any of the a la carte items, so even our 7yo daughter was able to find something she can eat. Also really nice that you can order seconds for the dashi soup :)

This restaurant in Enoshima that I had researched and made a reservation for in advance was highly recommended by many people for its delicious food. When we arrived at noon, they promptly seated us without any wait. We ordered their signature rice bowl, a sashimi platter with three types of fish, and a serving of tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette). Let me start by talking about the tamagoyaki. Normally, I've had tamagoyaki made with frozen ingredients, but this one was different. It had a texture similar to scrambled eggs—soft, smooth, and not too sweet. It was actually savory, which was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend trying it. Now, onto the sashimi. It was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The quality of the fish was top-notch, and each piece melted in our mouths. It was definitely a highlight of the meal. On the other hand, the restaurant's signature rice bowl didn't quite appeal to my taste.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the fish bowl and my husband ordered the fish of the day. There was a bit of wait, but well worth it! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Cute little spot by the beach! Get there early for lunch because the wait can be long. We waited for about 40 minutes to be seated. They gave us tea to drink and keep us warm while we waited outside. I am not a huge fan of raw fish but I decided to just go for it. The raw tuna was so so good - one of the best raw fish I've ever had! Definitely on the pricey side but thought it was worth it.

Yelp
If anyone watches Terrace house then you may have been tempted to try this place too Anyway, I went here with my family and it was really tasty. The fish tasted very fresh and I enjoyed the big piece of nori that came with it. I also really enjoy the presentation of the dish. Makes the normal donburi look special! There is quite a long wait so expect that. But most places in Japan that have any hype have a wait. It was really close to enoshima beach which was enjoyable.

Yelp
A great ocean-side cafe for traditional Japanese breakfasts. It's actually difficult to find a place in Japan that serves a traditional Japanese breakfast aside from hotels. Japanese usually eat breakfast at home. Come here for the asa teishoku aka. breakfast set meal. It comes with rice, miso soup, pickles, a side, and you can choose your main (usually grilled fish or fried chicken). I love that they have a water-front patio that you can enjoy on weekend mornings! Tip: The breakfast set comes with a raw egg. Break it into the given cup, add soy sauce, mix it up, and pour over your fresh rice! When in Japan, do as the Japanese do :) More about this dish here: http://ohmyomiyage.wordpress.com/2012/11/15/tamago-kake-gohan-japans-national-dish/

Yelp
A Japanese friend told me about this place. I had the Sashimi lunch that was amazing. Extremely fresh local fish cut properly presented with great attention to detail. Loved the meal. The location is great and the terrace gives you a great view of Enoshima. They have an English menu and personnel is attentive and polite.
