Enoteca Il Piccolo - Review - Parione - Rome - The Infatuation

"There’s always a buzzing crowd at Enoteca Il Piccolo, a natural wine bar near Piazza Navona. The snug space feels inviting in the winter with just five tables, but in the summer, the outdoor seating is where you want to be—prime for sipping wine and watching tourists in heels trying not to faceplant on cobblestones. The last time we were here, we loved a skin-macerated rosè from a tiny volcanic island off the coast of Sicily. For bites, there are simple but solid snacks like bruschetta, cheesy slabs of lasagna, and sandwiches stuffed with pastrami." - Annie Replogle

If u visit get outdoor seating. A busy crosswalk and fun people watching. A musician was playing guitar to Dire Straits. Money & others. Had wonderful appetizers of cured meat + cheese and Toscana wine. The staff were polite.

March 2025 : Since i can't write two reviews for the same place i'm uploading the last one .... Still my favorite place in Rome. There's a lot of locals which is usually a great sign. They know their stuff ! It's definitely my happy place, the selection of wine is short but great, i also tried their Negroni and it's made to perfection .... And the staff !!!!!! WOW the staff is just astonishing, kind, pro and welcoming ! They make you feel at home and they care for you to have a good time ! Stefano and Frederico (and obviously all the others) are just VIP !!!!!! Still my happy mess, still my happy place. March 2024 :It's everything i love !! A beautiful and happy mess ! A little bit crowdy but that's a part of the charm. Really good wine, fair prices and a great atmosphere. One of the best bars in Rome for me

As a tourist, it always feel slightly intimidating going to an intimate Italian bar. This place however served us politely and made us comfortable on a table outside. The location is beautiful, located along dense streets with lots of people walking and talking. This is the first time I was on holiday I really felt in Rome, not just at a tourist attraction. The Negroni and Aperol Spritz was lovely, with the olives we had too, easily the best we’ve ever had. If your’re going to a place like this as a tourist, it’s important to respect the culture and environment of the place, that way you’ll have great drinks and service. Definitely recommend.

Truly, the best wine I have ever drink! Staff is really nice, open to help choosing your wine! Vibe inside is amazing, great music, cozy atmosphere… definitely worth visiting! I have to come back here!!

Pasta was too salty and pizza like cardboard. Only pilsener beers available. Bruschetta with dried basil and little flavour in the tomatoes

Great little enoteca close to Piazza Navona. Great wine options in a nice cozy atmosphere and in location which is perfect for people-watching if you can grab a seat outside. Stop in and have a glass of wine; you won’t be disappointed.

Nice wine bar. Fabulous selection wines. Nice selection of food as well. The staff is very accommodating to the needs of the guests. I wholeheartedly recommend taking the load off your feet after visiting the Pantheon.

Yelp
It is said, at least in America, that big things come in small packages. Enoteca Il Piccolo in Rome, in the winter, is such a place. With a minimum amount of tables able to be dined at inside, if you are able to grab a place, then, by all means, do it. My nephew and I enjoy finding these smaller, fine food establishments and this one did not disappoint. This was to be our last lunch in Roma so we joyfully consumed the very tasty mozzarella and ham and the Bruschetta appetizers and then I had my way with an incredible lasagna, where Il Piccolo did not skimp on the meat (as is done is some restaurants). Great meaty and cheesy flavor with a hint of spinach and some other subtle spices. Pure heaven. My nephew had ravioli which must have been great as he did not speak after receiving his plate. Highly recommended -- to one and all

Yelp
We stopped here for coffee and water and watched the people walk by. A nice little (piccolo) place to relax during our mid-afternoon sight-seeing. The staff was friendly and, in the typical way of Rome, didn't rush us at all. We sat and read through our Rick Steves' guide book and just enjoyed a good hour of conversation and taking in the sights and sounds around us. You have to walk past a small gauntlet of eateries with waiters or hosts outside encouraging you to come to their restaurant, as is typical in areas where there are many tourists. When we came upon this Enoteca Piccolo no one was doing that here, and no one did during our entire stay. It was quaint and charming and quickly filled up with other Italian-speaking patrons. Since I've now read other reviews about their good wine selection, I'd like to go back to try that, too.

Yelp
[from Spotted by Locals Rome] The name of the place says it all: it is small, piccolo. But it is cute and cozy. Not by chance that an Italian saying goes like this: Good wine is in the small barrel. You can pick from a menu by the glass which changes regularly. The wines rotate weekly. The by the bottle menu is rich of good wines from all the 20 Italian regions. My favorites are Falanghina and Greco di Tufo. It is in a good spot, by a road near piazza Navona, the hot spot usually beaten by Romans and non Romans. There is also a barman outdoors who prepares cocktails at a stall to take away, and in the winter during Christmas time, there's a waitress dressed up as the famous old woman who brings toys to children on January 6th, day of the Epiphany. She is called the Befana and she will be serving you vin brulé. It is a perfect place where to hang out, drink and have a bite: tarts, cheeses, artichokes, dried tomatoes and champignon mushrooms make my day, and my night. And when I need to be sweetened up I go for the homemade cakes.
