Absolutely chaotic experience – avoid if you're in a hurry (or value basic service)
I had one of the most frustrating dining experiences of my life at Enrique Tomás in Madrid Airport. From the moment we approached the counter, it was clear that organization and customer service were not on the menu.
Despite asking multiple times, the staff flat-out refused to provide us with a menu. We were met with blank stares or vague gestures toward nowhere. After finally managing to locate a menu ourselves (like a treasure hunt in a tapas bar), we were then told we had to bring the one copy with us in order to place an order—as if memorizing a couple of items wasn’t enough.
Once we finally ordered (olives, ham, bread with tomato—simple, a salad, and potatoes), we waited 35 minutes while watching other customers receive food at random intervals. When we inquired about our own order(at least the olives and bread), we were passed around from staff member to staff member, none of whom had a clue what was going on. Everyone seemed confused or unwilling to help, and every request was met with more shrugging and finger-pointing.
Even with the receipt in hand, we had to fight for every single item we paid for. Half of it was wrong or missing, and nothing arrived together. We had to constantly re-ask for items we’d already paid for, only to be treated like we were the inconvenience.
To be fair, the food was fine. But it absolutely wasn’t worth the stress or the effort. If you’re on a tight schedule (you know, like literally everyone at an airport), this place is a disaster waiting to derail your day.
Save yourself the headache—I would never return, and I definitely do not recommend.
