Entre Hôtes

A fantastic hotel in a beautiful old building right in the centre of La Rochelle so a great location for walking out and about. The hotel was extremely clean with beautiful decoration. We booked in for breakfast every day which was amazing all served and prepared by the owner Oliver which also meant he had lots of tips and ideas for restaurants and places to visit. I would highly recommend this hotel without any hesitation .

While we enjoyed our stay in Entre Hotes and found Olivier to be a lovely and welcoming host we did struggle with the toilet and shower/bath situation in our room. There is absolutely no privacy other that a small wall blocking the toilet, everything is within the room. The breakfast delivered each morning was delicious and fresh, just a note to anyone prone to bug bites, be sure to put on bug repellent before going to eat breakfast outside. I was bitten so badly it put a dampener on our trip. The bed is lovely and comfortable and the location is ideal. So close to the beach and centre.

Disappointing! The location of this hotel is very good, although located at a main street with quite some traffic, the rooms’ windows are oriented into the backyard, thus it is relatively quiet. The rooms are ok. The high standard of the place suggested by the homepage and the photos there are in reality not of such a high quality. After all it is a B&B without any possibilities to spend there time other then in the rather small room. The elegant breakfast and „living“ room with the inviting sofas and a lot of nice decoration are in fact a private space of the owner which is open for the guests during the breakfast only. Thus also the access to the garden is limited to that. This was actually really disappointing as on the website it is presented as a part of the „hotel“ where you can spend time, have a glas of wine in the evening, but this is definitely not the case. All in all the price is way too high for what you get, there are better options in the town.

A great central location near to the old town and the park / green space that runs to the fabulous beach and promenade, and a good many restaurants.||Olivier is also a great host. He was very helpful throughout our stay and always very friendly. ||We enjoyed a delicious continental breakfast each morning. We stayed in the cave (ancient wine cellar) and enjoyed a very comfortable bed and our our private sitting out area. ||Top tip : Parking is hard to find in this location and many locals think nothing of parking on the footpath and places we would have thought were illegal. ||Fortunately, we took advantage of Olivier’s offer of private parking space (euro 15 daily) in his nearby garage.||We highly recommend entre-hotes and hope you too enjoy your stay as much as we did!

Olivier is a welcoming host. He showed us the private parking, gave a brief history of the maison. We stayed in Digue room. It is a good size and decorated with a great taste. Windows were facing garden, do it was very quite. Breakfast area is beautiful and Olivier serves simple breakfast, but you have everything you need - juice, fruités, bread, cheese, yogurt. Highly recommended!

Stayed for 1 night in the Aqua room on the 2nd floor. |Welcomed by Olivier the owner who was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us a brief history on the building. Also recommended restaurants for us to eat in, one of which we did, and was excellent, La boussole |The room was lovely, a very comfortable bed and good shower, overlooked the garden. Tv in the room, but no English channels on it. Also had a kettle to make a hot drink. A very quiet room and nice and dark with the shutters closed. |Breakfast was just lovely with breads, cheese and jams, and good coffee. |We pre booked parking in oliviers garage to the rear of the b&b, which was brilliant, and only €12. |Would thoroughly recommend this b&b, only a 10 min walk to the harbour.

Our room was comfortable and decorated with taste as are all the public areas of the property. Entre Hotes is very convenient for exploring the old town of La Rochelle with a great selection of restaurants within 10 minutes walk. The owner Olivier is a charming host, very welcoming and informative on arrival and serves a great breakfast. Sadly we couldn't visit all the restaurants recommended within our short stay but already planning a longer return visit.||||No parking immediately adjacent but it would be unreasonable to expect this in the old part of the city and we were able to find free parking in the street immediately behind and plentiful paid parking choices within 5 mins walk at Place de Verdun and Vieux Port Ouest
