Where to Eat Near the Las Vegas Convention Center

"Convention-goers staying at Renaissance Las Vegas need not wander far for a steak and a bottle of pinot noir. Located within the hotel, Envy The Steakhouse offers corn-fed Midwest beef topped with herb butter, grilled rack of lamb and pan-seared branzino. Whether the evening calls for crab cakes or tuna tartare, filet mignon or maple plank Scottish salmon, the restaurant’s collection of more than 1,500 bottles of wine certainly has the right glass to pair with dinner." - Janna Karel

Envy The Steakhouse had incredible service. Lots of yummy options on the menu. The appetizers and side dishes were absolutely delightful. The reason for the 4 star review was, all 6 steaks ordered were ordered medium rare and came out medium well. The overcooking caused the steaks to be on the dry side and required dipping sauce to get them juicy enough to get down. The steaks also came lacking seasoning (not a deal breaker for me with salt on the table). Everything else was delicious.

The poached eggs, fruit, and chicken sausage were a standout breakfast combination during my first four days. Unfortunately, the omelets were overcooked. The Saturday opening at 7 AM is too late; an earlier start at 6 AM would be ideal. On one occasion, I waited a surprising 25 minutes for fried eggs, even though the restaurant wasn't crowded. Due to this inconsistency, I missed breakfast entirely on my last day. Ardella was a fantastic server, always kind and engaging. I highly recommend requesting her. It was clear she was still processing the loss of her mother during COVID, but her strength and positivity were inspiring. While service was generally good, there were instances of slowness and incorrect orders. However, Leandrea provided excellent, speedy service on my final visit. Overall, the breakfast was enjoyable, but the inconsistent service was disappointing."

If you’re in Las Vegas and you’re craving steak, let me introduce you to Envy Steakhouse at the Renaissance Hotel—where your taste buds go to party and your diet plans go to die. I mean, it’s called “Envy” for a reason, because by the end of the meal, you’ll be green with envy for everyone who’s been eating here all along. First, let’s talk about the service. These folks don’t just bring you your meal, they practically read your mind.Thirsty? Your drink is magically refilled. Ready to order? They appear out of nowhere with a smile like some kind of service ninja. They’re so on top of things that I wouldn’t be surprised if they know what kind of steak you’re going to order before you even do. Now, the steak. Oh, the steak. Envy isn’t just a name, it’s a promise. The steak selection here is the stuff dreams are made of. Ribeye? Check. Filet mignon? Absolutely. Tomahawk steak the size of a small car? You bet. Each cut is cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of char on the outside and juicy, melt-in-your-mouth goodness on the inside. You don’t even need a knife—it’s that tender. It’s the kind of steak that makes you want to stand up and give the chef a round of applause.

My experience and review are based on daily breakfast meals over a one week stay. The staff is polite, however, not very attentive and that results in slooow service. The lone exception is Adela - she is a delight to engage with. Adela is cheerful, shows genuine happiness and serviced our table over several days with attentive service and a smile. Given this restaurant is located inside a business hotel catering mostly to business travelers, it was disappointing to experience delays in our food arriving each morning. While the concierge lounge also provides a warm breakfast, their eggs as are very creamy/runny and they do not have much selection of fruits, or other items. Therefore, the choice was difficult - quick, mediocre breakfast in the lounge or a better breakfast that requires a sit down of 35-45 minutes. The buffet at Envy is also not as attractive as I have seen at other Renaissance property restaurants. We ended up ordering mostly off the menu. One morning my scrambled egg whites arrived unscrambled. Another morning they were over cooked and partially brown. Both times the issue was resolved quickly. If they can improve their efficiency and accuracy, I would gladly increase the star rating. If I find myself at this restaurant again for breakfast I’ll ask to be seated in Adela’s section and hope for the same great level of service from her.

This steakhouse is definitely a hidden gem in the Las Vegas area. Located inside the Renaissance Hotel, many may assume this to be another run-of-the-mill average hotel restaurant; and in this case you would be mistaken. At every step of my multiple dining experiences, I have received nothing short of 5 star food and service. The dining room is beautifully decorated, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere; high booths and perfect lighting make this a good spot for a romantic evening out. The service in warm, friendly, and welcoming. This group of staff is a restaurant owner/managers dream; From the host, server, server assistant, and management, everyone is always happy, kind, and offers up the perfect amount of attention. The food is nothing short of spectacular; the lobster bisque is some of the best I've ever had, bursting with flavor. The steak, prime cuts off meat, is cooked to perfection; so tender it slices like butter. If your celebrating a special occasion, you can bet that the staff will acknowledge your event with the perfect level of detail. In summary, whether you live in the Las Vegas area or are one on the many millions of visitors, you absolutely must make a reservation to experience this wonderful hidden gem.

This was a really good place with really good food. One of the benefits of being a Las Vegas Local is enjoying the parts of the town that are technically built for the "convention" crowd. From what I understand this is a really happening place during CES so if you want to try it out, I would wait until the following week.

This place would not be my choice for dinner in Vegas. It is ok, but in a city like Vegas where there are so many amazing restaurants, being ok isn't good enough. I made this reservation about two weeks in advance. When we arrived, I was taken to my table within 2 minutes then proceeded to have to stand there as the (host? manager?) cleared the table and reset it as we had been taken to a dirty table. As we were being seated, we were asked if we had a groupon or travelzoo offer (which we didn't). I was confused about why we were asked when other tables we saw being seated weren't asked. Maybe we "looked" like bargain hunters? Our server David came and asked us if we were ready to order. He didn't go over any specials or recommend anything on the menu. We ordered drinks which he brought quickly (they had a pretty nice wine list) then ordered our entrees and proceeded to 35 minutes for our food to arrive. He stopped by once during that time and said he would check on our food. When it finally arrived our entrees were very good while the sides were incredibly bland. We had the sea bass and herb crusted lamb. The fish was incredibly tender and had a great flavor. The lamb was good but not very different than what I've had in other places. We had a show to go to so we asked for our check which was brought promptly. Overall this visit was largely underwhelming. I enjoyed my visit to the Top of the World the previous evening much more.

I definitely enjoyed my time here. Some restaurants may become annoyed by using a Groupon but they were very nice. It's on the outskirts of the strip but not far off. They knew the whole deal and made sure we understood the deal. The food was delicious. The salad was a good size portion and very filling. They had cheesecake on the menu for dessert and it was creamy and rich. I ordered the scallops and my fiance ordered the New York Strip. The waiter was very attentive. They were playing music so after dinner me and my fiance dance by our booth. Pleasant evening

Yelp
Marcy was my server and she was such a pleasure. Perfect. The food is delicious. Great quiet atmosphere. Love that you cannot smoke in a restaurant anymore. I will come again!!!!!

Yelp
A good off strip steakhouse! The chili lobster appetizer was good, though the avocado in it was distracting lol. All the meat cuts were good but the ribeye and new york strip were dry in some ends which was disappointing especially given the high price. My family also all asked for medium rare but it was more like a medium cook. Why this place still gets 4 stars though is the service and the pork chop because it was perfect! Crispy outside but tender inside, and whatever was giving that subtle sweetness was so good. The brussel sprouts were also cooked perfectly and paired so well with the meat for a nice well rounded meal. The service was also great I love that everyone enjoys working there. Would come back just for the good vibes and pork chop.

Yelp
Food - both filet mignon an rack of lamb were cooked perfectly (medium-rare). Personally, I think the basil pesto does not go with the lamb, it is a bit over powering. The Lobster Mac & cheese appetizer we chose to have as our side - it was a big portion and probably good for 4 people. The Lemon dessert was delicious. Please note that bread is only by request. As this is our first time, we did not know until we asked for bread and we're told such. This is not written anywhere - It would be helpful if it is mentioned upon seating. Ambiance - not crowded at all, not loud/noisy, a bit dim and would be great if they brightened it up a little more. We chose booth seating and it is not floor-level (you'd have to step up) and is the same color, so be careful you don't fall. Service - was a bit disappointing and improvement can definitely be made in this area, especially for an upscale restaurant which is not busy and this is the reason why I am giving 4-stars. I asked and confirmed, that they were not short-staffed that night - took a while to get drinks, server did not check in to inform us the reason for delay. As noted above, bread policy was not mentioned until we asked. If you are looking for a place to socialize and not be disturbed by servers checking in, this would be a good place for you. Accepts reservations.

Yelp
I dined at ENVY The Steakhouse during a staycation at The Renaissance and, unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. My wife and I initially had plans for Korean BBQ, but due to being late, we decided to eat at ENVY since it was inside the hotel. Regrettably, it didn't live up to our expectations. Upon arrival, the restaurant appeared deserted. We took our seats and waited for our waiter, who seemed slow and distracted despite the lack of other guests. While our waiter was friendly, the service was lacking. The drinks were decent, and the food itself was quite good, except for a significant issue - we found a bug in our salad. We hoped it was just a gnat, but when we brought it to the waiter's attention, he brushed it off, saying it was "probably a gnat that flew in." While he removed the salad from our bill, it left us feeling skeptical about the rest of our meal. I had high hopes for this restaurant, hoping it could become our go-to spot during our stays at The Renaissance. However, after this experience, that plan is no longer on the table. Additionally, the price was quite steep at $172 (including tip) for 2 drinks, a single salad, and a steak dinner with two shared sides. Unfortunately, I couldn't capture any pictures because the restaurant was so dimly lit, and after the incident with the salad, my appetite was wasn't there. Despite the ambiance being pleasant and the steak well-cooked and tasty, I'm rating this restaurant with 2 stars.

Yelp

Yelp
The food took almost 45-60 minutes to come out. Once we got it, my steak was was wayyyy over cooked. Like roast beef. I asked for a medium. They took it back and I had to wait another 20 minutes. For it to be cooked the same way. The prices are way too expensive for that. The customer service was fine.

Yelp
The restaurant was dead -- this probably should've been a red flag. Went ahead & ordered steak, mashed potatoes, and salad to go. Staff said they would bring it up to my room. I then felt obligated to tip on something I literally could have carried up myself. I quickly added tip / signed to hand over my receipt. I was handed my copy, closed the door, & sadly saw that a 22% gratuity had already been added ... & I was apparently leaving an additional tip. Tried not to let that ruin dinner -- just such a turn off when places use this shady method. Moving on to the meal... well, I picked through and tossed approx 20% of the salad -- it was maybe a step above the pkg you buy from the grocery store ? Maybe? I'm not sure if the potatoes were real or not. They weren't bad, but definitely not anything to remember. The steak was cooked to the requested level, but lacked flavor. Between the underwhelming meal & not knowing I had already been billed 22% gratuity, it was just a really bad purchase experience.

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant a couple of times. It's a solid choice when I'm visiting Vegas. Tonight was a little different: it was the first time we had our toddler with us. Our servers went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They crafted a toddler-approved Mac and cheese. They even found her some other snacks she'd enjoy. The food was good. The service was warm and welcoming. We'll be back, as usual.

Yelp
Nice steakhouse, friendly staff, and nice ambience is what Envy is all about. It's pricy but that's your typical steakhouse. I ordered the filet minion which was good but not great! For $50 for an 8 oz I expected to be blown away. We ordered a bunch of apps including brussel sprouts, asparagus, mushrooms, shishito peppers, mashed potatoes and lobster Mac n cheese which were AMAZING! Definitely order the lobster Mac n cheese. For desserts we ordered the chocolate cake and cheesecake. Cheesecake was the winner of the two. Comes with a delicious topping. Forgot to take pics of the cheesecake but trust me, you will love it and devour it like I did.

Yelp
I attended a business dinner with our Board and executive team. They place us in a lively room with two long tables with one wall showcasing their wine collection. The service was prompt and friendly. I had the potato soup and the brown sugar salmon (memory mouth drooling) the sauce in that dish made you want to lick the plate.i couldn't finish my cheesecake because I was stuffed, but I heard from a colleague it was good. He ate mine AND his chocolate cake. Hey, the man likes good desserts.

Blythe A.

Yelp
Food is actually not good. No flavor, steak ordered medium rare and served well done, veggies on side of steak were roasted but COLD and dry clearly cooked this morning. Unfortunate but this has been my experience twice. It's a nice restaurant but not worth it and I leave this review in hopes they can improve.

Yelp
5 stars to Alexis- the front host for being so accommodating! Very close walking distance to the convention center inside the Renaissance Hotel. A much better dining option than the food court or food trucks on offer at the LVCC. The price would depend on what you order. The Manhattan was the best choice if you want a hearty 10 oz cut of meat without bone or too much fat, it's basically a sirloin. The sides are add ons at extra costs. Tried the spinach recommended by Alexis and it was delicious. Their steaks are well seasoned and charcoaled on the outside. Comes with rue and horse radish on the side for dipping. You can also order a small house salad on the side. The regular salad portions are a full meal by itself because the portion was big enough to share amongst two people. My restaurant choice next time I'm back again for another convention, but make sure to arrive early or book a reservation to avoid the wait.

Jeffrey C.

Yelp
Great rack of lamb with an outstanding pesto. Attentive staff and a wonderful steakhouse atmosphere.

Yelp
Loved! Delicious moule et frites & fois gras. Christian and Alexis were very professional, thoughtful, and efficient servers. It is an open kitchen, so be aware. I love open kitchens, so all good.

Yelp
This review is for breakfast. Adela was our server. Simply amazing. Super friendly and attentive. Breakfast was great and started with a smile. Give Adela a raise.

Yelp
Was in Vegas last week for a trade show and Ate dinner at Envy. Let me start by saying the service was very good. Our waiter suggested a reasonable wine for the table and was very friendly and attentive. The streak was the issue. I had the "Manhattan" cut of NY strip and so did 2 others at my table . It's not that it was bad, it's just not worth the money they are charging and mine came out a bit undercooked. For the price I expected a much better steak. It was something like $65 (10oz) I won't go back . I'll just go to Ruth's Chris or Mortons or something like that .

Yelp
My experience at this restaurant was nothing less of phenomenal. The service, the ambiance, the staff, the food, the location, completely superb. I had the Duroc pork chop with Brussel sprouts It was DEELICIOUS!!!!! My love had the Lamb chops with creamy mashed potatoes. And the price was NOT BAD AT ALL. Come to this establishment if you insist on a very elegant and memorable moment. Perfect spot for Valentine's Day, great spot for entertaining.

Yelp
It was ok, nothing great. No bread brought out, appetizer selection was very underwhelming, and the sides weren't the best either. I had a filet mignon, and it was rather bland. We had a party of 5 adults, one 6 year old for New Year's Eve dinner. The bill was ridiculously overpriced for what we had. The staff were all friendly and attentive, but we won't be back. There's way too many choices in town to go back to somewhere underwhelming and overpriced.....sorry.

David B.

Yelp
They included a 20% tip without telling me so I'd tip again on top of that. The old scam where the waitress doesn't give you an itemized receipt so you don't see that there's a 20% tip included. Then, when the credit card receipt comes, there's a line for another tip. I had to ask for the itemized receipt to see what what really going on. I'll never go back. Caesar was inedible too. The ambiance is run down for the price.

Edward F.

Yelp
The five-star reviews I read are, given my two experiences this week, nothing short of fictitious or aspirational. My salmon dinner over baby carrots had two serious faults -- overcooked salmon and carrots so undercooked they couldn't be cut with a knife (really!), not to mention they seemed soaked in pancake syrup. On another night, the server was overwhelmed, apparently, by a problem at one of the three or four other tables (yup, that's right -- dead, dead!) with guests that he forgot about me -- for more than 15 or 20 minutes after he'd taken my wine glass for a refill. What an utter waste of a lovely, if overly tame, space is Envy! Not worth a third visit unless things change significantly.

Howdy D.

Yelp
FOLKS: We visted this OVERLY-EXPENSIVE PLACE! AS A HOTEL; FINE. As a RESTAURANT--NO WAY. A BURGER COSTS $24.00, THAT HONESTLY YOU COULD GET AT WENDY'S FOR $7.00, based on its quality to value. It COMES WITH COLD FRENCH FRIES TOO. We came there to eat only. We were told that they validate Valet parking for Envy the restaurant. The Valet said he "Did not know"? (Huh?). We then asked the restaurant staff---Same response. Then 1 employee said "Go Ask Security" (Again huh?). Why was this important??? Because if you Valet it is $17.00 just to visit the place or go to their bar. They do have self-parking but we wanted Valet at the door. The man who brought our food was Awesome. Very friendly, outgoing and humorous too. The bartenders spent more time talking to each other than the guest! It did not have a friendly feeling. Lastly, we hate that when you order food and drink, then, B4 you get it, they STICK a bill in a glass in front of you first!! [As if you are going to runaway before paying?!] We do not like this place. Close by there are better steakhouses for sure, at better prices. Try " Cleavers" down the street. We went there the next nite. Good ridden to this place!

Yelp
Excellent food. Fantastic service, and great setting if you are staying at the Renaissance or leaving the convention center. I gone to Envy multiple times and Josh and all the waiters and waitresses and staff are great. I will return during future trips to Vegas.
google avatar

B P.

Yelp
Steak was cold and dry. I wouldn't even pay $20 for that steak and they charged us $80. Service was OK, not what you get at a nice steakhouse. Don't waste your money at this place. They charge premium and food quality is fast food.
google avatar

Layla E.

Yelp
Very nice hotel based restaurant. Really nice cocktail and wine program . My husband had the crab Mac and cheese which he said was great. I had the sea bass; the cook and flavor were great. A personal preference I would have preferred a mash or purée with the fish. At another sitting we shared the truffle fry's and thought they were really good.

Yelp
So 4 of us had an early business dinner this evening at 530 PM. ENVY is in the Renaissance alongside the Las Vegas Convention Center. Clearly a great venue for a business dinner. I get here early and decide a booth is the best place for us to talk. I get a nice quiet booth in the back. However, as I sit down it is obvious the springs in the seats are shot, the upholstery has seen better days. This is not a cheap joint and beat up and/or broken seat cushions are inexcusable. I then look up and see dead insects in the lighting fixtures. I've attached a random photo to confirm my observations. Again, this joint ain't cheap and you need to get rid of dead insects. I then order a gin martini. While they don't have my first choice in gin (Bombay Sapphire) they do have Beefeaters. However, they ran out of olives? So here I am in an expensive steakhouse in Las Vegas and they don't have olives. I decide on a couple of appetizers, figure if okay I'll order more. So I start with the Lobster Bisque. It was not hot enough, was too rich and lacked pieces of lobster. Not the best start. I then had an exceptional wedge salad. This they handled well. However, at this point I was getting fed up with the restaurant and had enough. Ironically the service here is 5 stars. The staff go above and beyond to take care of guests. Clearly the Marriott training has paid off. Bottom line: No need to come here with so many better options in Las Vegas.

Yelp
I had breakfast here repeatedly while staying in this hotel and food and service were excellent.

Yelp
it was a nice diner with my family. we try lot of appetizers, and after the scallop's risotto and some meats. everything was cook perfectly and we can feel the European touch for the lobster bisque. we will come again to try the new restaurant

Yelp
A three isn't fair because I was looking for something light. The garbage salad was fine. It was a thousand island dressing salad with lobster. The amount of lobster was decent but $38 is ridiculous for a salad! Tomato bisque was sweet and not that creamy. The bread on top was very good. I couldn't walk any more! Waitress was exceptional.

Yelp
First off, service was excellent; very attentive. Also, our waiter-I believe his name was Joshua- was very detailed and descriptive when we asked about any item on the menu. Very welcoming and kind environment. The food was average. We had a party of 8. Myself and one other person had ordered the filet mignon, both medium-rare. Mine seemed almost completely rare if not raw, and the other filet mignon was undoubtedly cooked much closer to medium-rare. We both agreed that the cuts were dry.. tasty, yet dry. Another person in of party had ordered the salmon and said it was THE BEST salmon they have ever had. Also, the sides were very delicious with the exception of those shishities peppers. Another person in our party said the soup was great. Our bill came out to a little over $600. Not too bad for 8 entrees, 4 sides and 3 appetizers. Definitely not a bad choice for Off-the-strip steakhouse. It's not packed and it's quiet. Food is decent. Service is unmatched for sure. The steak particularly itself could be worked on

Yelp
I love staying at Renaissance hotels. This one in Vegas has a wonderful steakhouse which seems to be a really good secret. Great food, wine selection, and service. If you're in for business and want to avoid the noise on the Strip, consider this spot. You'll be pleasantly surprised. My 2 cents (which Biden has taxed and inflation has eroded) Greg T.

Yelp
I've been here twice, once in July & in December 2018. Both times this place was mostly empty. The first time we had reservations and hit traffic due to an accident on the freeway and would be at least 30 minutes late. I called 5 times and nobody picked up the phone at the hostess stand. When we got there, despite the restaurant being nearly empty, nobody was at the hostess stand and employees nearby were running around saying they'd be with us shortly. Actually, it was the same way the second visit as well. Where is everyone running to in an empty restaurant? First time we went, we were asked if we were celebrating anything both at the time of reservations and when we got to the restaurant. We were, a birthday. I don't know why they ask because they didn't do anything extra during the meal. Weird. Complimentary bread options are awful. First time we went it was boring, low quality cold assorted rolls. Second time it was slices of raisin bread. Starters: Lobster bisque and "Vegas Caesar salad' which is basically a cob with Caesar dressing with capers and anchovy filets. Both are adequate. Lobster bisque tastes exactly like the lobster bisque at Brio. Main: porterhouse steaks are adequate but lacking flavor. The brown sauce it automatically comes with on the side is straight up gross. It tastes sweet and oily. I had to request salt and pepper because the steak has no seasoning at all. Sides: Lobster macaroni and cheese, and spinach. Mac and cheese tastes exactly like the lobster bisque but with noodles, which is not a complaint. No visible pieces of lobster, so I'm guessing it's lobster stock or something. Spinach is fine. Dessert: cheesecake. Tastes like commerical cheesecake. In general, the food is okay but forgettable. There is no wow factor and Vegas has a ton of steakhouses at a similar price point so competition is high. I have a feeling that they're not going to be in business much longer based off of how empty it was both times.

Yelp
Decided to check this place out after seeing it on Groupon, because I love steak and am always looking out for new places! Service could have been a little faster, especially since there were hardly any other diners around. However, the servers were very nice and explained everything that came with the Groupon voucher upfront. We ended up getting two 18 oz ribeyes, sautéed spinach, roasted baby beet salad, and cheesecake. Everything was pretty tasty and the steak was cooked perfectly. I would definitely consider coming back, as well as recommend this place, especially if they're still running the Groupon deal!

Yelp
Best kept secret in Vegas. Best Steak and a place I've been going to for nearly 20 years. Ask for Josh as he's the best server in Vegas and he'll take care of you. Must get the steak, filet always for me. Do yourself a favor and get the flight of sauces with it too. Oh, and their Old Fashioned is the best too.

Yelp
For awhile now I have been putting off trying Envy , so while I staying here at the hotel I have no reason not to try their amazing food. I decided to come down tonight and have drinks. I sat at the bar and the moment that one walks through the door the beauty of the restaurant surrounds you. The darker warm colors that they decided to decorate with really bring life to Envy. The hostess pointed that there was no waiting at the bar and she greeted me and made eye contact as I was approaching her. This is highly professional and and helpful to let me know we acknowledge one another mutually. The bartender handed me a drinks menu without me even having to ask. The uniforms that the staff where here are so upscale and they are more formally dressed than me. I went with a comfort drink for me a vodka tonic. They only use top shelf alcohol here to make their mixed drinks and you can taste the difference. The bartender was very pleasant and asked if I would be dining tonight. I informed him I was just having drinks. He had a nice smile and demeanor about him. The service was fantastic. I did not stay long tonight at Envy since tomorrow is going to be a busy day for us at the last day of Pony Con!

Yelp
Definitely not worth the money. This is definitely not being ran by a top chef. My food was definitely bought in bulk from Sysco and reheated. My husband even said "wow the food came out fast." He ordered sea bass and I had salmon with a side of mashed potatoes. Our food was on the table in 15 minutes. I should have known then. My salmon came with carrots that was supposed to have some sort of glaze. But they microwave the plate for so long that all the glaze hardened. Which also of course dried out my salmon. You can tell the food had been microwave because my side of mashed potatoes had pockets of cold potatoes. My carrots were so hard they literally just seemed like they wash them and poured glaze over them and put them on my plate. So they brought me another side of carrots that I asked to be cooked well, and again they were hard and crunchy come out of the refrigerator. The ambience of the restaurant was cool, but definitely not worth going back.

Yelp
Absolutely awful experience! I am a Marriott Platinum Elite member and have been to this restaurant in prior years. We decided to try it out again for a special occasion but the entire evening was ruined. Prior to arriving we noticed that there was a Travelzoo deal saving a little bit of money so we decided on purchasing it. We arrived to the restaurant for our 645pm reservation and were seated within minutes. It took a little while for the waiter to come out but when he did he explained the menu and we ordered. For appetizers we got the lobster bisque and caesar salad. It took about thirty minutes for them to come out. The lobster bisque was very flavorless and not even warm. Then came time for waiting...and more waiting...and even more waiting. After another forty minutes we notified the server that we had a show to catch and that we would need the deserts to go. He said he would check on the food. Our two filet mignons came out about another ten minutes after he went to check on them. One was cooled great, the other not so much. It was not medium rare not was it even warm! I was served a room temperature steak that I'm assuming was just sitting out waiting to be served. We tried to get the waiter's attention but he was no where to be found as was most of the night. Once again we waited...then waited some more. Eventually we told a different server to just take everything away and in form our server. A few minutes later our server came out and said he could make me a fish pretty fast since the steak wasn't cooked right. I explained once again to him that we had a show to catch so he said he would bring the bill. Next the manager came out and told us the bill would be taken care of. We explained to him that we paid for the voucher and they decided to already redeem it so its not like he was doing us any favor. He then asked if he could cover some drinks on our way out or take down our info for next time. As we are moving out of the country in a few days that has no use to us nor did we want to take time to order drinks while we were running late to a show. Overall horrible experience and their service has definitely downgraded over the years. We wasted our time and money, and worst of all still left hungry after eating just a soup.

Yelp
Let me begin by saying the service was great however, the food was far from it. I was unfortunately greatly disappointed with my experience here food wise. This location does offer 1,000 bonus points for reservations booked through OpenTable, which is $10 worth of points. The bread and butter was fresh, warm, soft as was the butter. They gave us a complementary salad that had capers, tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, bacon, Parmesan cheese and either sardines or anchovies which kind of ruined it. It may have been healthy, although the fish was very fishy tasting. So, if you're not a huge seafood fan you'll really dislike this salad. But you can't argue too much since it's free. We ordered the 8oz Filet Mignon $49 & 24oz Porterhouse $55 both medium rare. We both received them WELL DONE! Not even remotely close to pink in the middle. You'd figure for a place known to be a steakhouse wouldn't screw up that bad. Don't get me wrong I've been to my fair share of Steakhouses/Chophouses and received my steak medium after ordering it medium rare, which I won't send back. But over $100 to not enjoy we ordered . Not going to happen. I also ordered a side of Mac & Cheese $8. Yes, of course I'm skeptical about sending any food back to the kitchen, especially after watching Waiting. The waitress was kind and sent it back to the kitchen. She got rid of our old Mac & Cheese so we can have a fresh back with the new steaks. I don't mean to come off as a snob, but more of a aficionado, the Steaks are by no means worth the price despite the major hiccups. I've paid triple the price for half the size before, but it was worth. I'm a believer in you get what you pay for and unfortunately the steaks that I ordered weren't worth the price. And I always enjoy ordering a side of really good Mac & Cheese. This Mac & Cheese was way to creamy and super plane Jane. Not worth it. They did give us buttermilk mashed potatoes as a side as an apology. I am unbiased despite my poor experience with the food and can say that the mashed potatoes were like the kind I grew up eating as a kid out of the box. So, needless to say not fond memories. They did hook it up with a large dessert platter. Best of which was the Chocolate Lava Cake. The others, I wasn't a fan of and would have been disappointed had I paid for it. Service was great which is why I gave this restaurant 3 stars, otherwise would've been a solid 1 based on the food alone.

Yelp
I don't think many restaurants are envious of this steakhouse's predicament. Vegas tourists worship new, shiny establishments; floundering businesses, like Envy the Steakhouse located in the Renaissance Hotel, end up offering discounts via deal sites to drum up interest. After our event at nearby Las Vegas Convention Center, we walked into an empty Envy with a Groupon we had purchased just hours ago, the upside of which was attentive service. We shared an heirloom tomato salad, served with, interestingly enough, yellow peach tomatoes, & a french onion soup which he called "generic," meaning it could've come from any chain restaurant. I'd give their sides alone 4 stars. The mountain of truffle fries were hard to stop eating & there were sections of shucked corn in the bourbon creamed corn. He was pleased with his porterhouse, my filet was so dry, neither the peppercorn nor the horseradish sauce could salvage it. Part of our deal was a dessert each. You'd think that would earn them an extra star in my book, but the cheesecake with berries & chocolate torte were both very middle-of-the road. With so many choices in Sin City, I'd have a hard time choosing Envy again. (Next time I'm picking Lust or Gluttony.) ;-)

Yelp
We loved this place. For being inside the Renaissance hotel, (not saying anything bad about the place- but definitely not a Vegas top favorite of hotels), we were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and quality of the food and service. There are a lot more pros than cons. Everything we ordered (bourbon creamed corn, asparagus, calamari/rock shrimp, crab cakes, porterhouse steak, Chilean sea bass, chocolate cake, and two cocktails) was delicious. Our server David was attentive and gave good recommendations. The restaurant itself is pretty nice with classy and clean decor. We highly recommend the crab cakes, calamari, and bourbon creamed corn. Although my sea bass was amazing. The portions were perfect. For the cons... they aren't too bad at all but worth mentioning. The bread they serve in the beginning came our pretty hard and cold (reviewers stated theirs being hot and soft), our "calamari and rock shrimp" appetizer came with no shrimp, my boyfriends steak was pretty tough to eat towards the middle (but the rest of it was great), the restaurant itself is really cold (maybe just the time we went), and although they do have a full bar- there was no cocktail menu. I feel like most restaurants in Vegas (especially steakhouses) have a specialty drink menu. I wanted to order a carajillo but their espresso machine was broken- so I ordered a plain vodka soda. The prices are very reasonable. We used a nice Groupon for this meal. We calculated the prices and our total for two entrees, two appetizers, two sides, two cocktails, and one dessert would've been about $175 before tax. Not bad at all Still happy with this place overall... but the little things jus brought it down to 4 stars rather than 5.

Yelp
Ate here for breakfast and the avocado toast was very good. You had the option to add an egg on top and bacon on the side. This restaurant has ample seating and it's very convenient if you are staying at the Renaissance. The restaurant was clean and the breakfast menu had decent prices. I have to try dinner still. Overall, I would come back.

Yelp
My 5 star rating is for the dinner we had here. Breakfast is 3 stars because I'm feeling generous. Lol. We came in here Friday night, around 8pm. We were pretty much the only customers in here, except for maybe one or two other tables. We were staying at the Renaissance Hotel, which Envy is inside. We had Major as our waiter. He was absolutely amazing. He answered all of our questions, paid special attention to our requests, and did a wonderful job. Since we were basically his only customers at that time, I kind of expected this, but he still exceeded my expectations. We asked about different kinds of bread, he gave us more of the kinds we liked or said good things about, and he paid attention to our requests. I ordered the filet mignon with the four peppercorn sauce, with a caesar salad, and au gratin potatoes. My brother had the lobster bisque soup, added a lobster tail to my steak, and asparagus. My mother ordered the same steak I did, except she asked for a hard sear on both sides. So basically in simple terms, she told them to burn it well on both sides, but still be medium-rare in the middle. The chef did one hell of a job there! It was easy to tell which steak was which when they brought them out. The one that looked like a hockey puck on the outside was hers. The one with the pretty grill marks was mine. They did exactly what she asked for, and she loved it. High points there, as she's typically never happy with exactly how a chef does her steak. My steak was perfect as well. It was one of the most gorgeous medium-rare fillets I've enjoyed in a long time. I tried my brother's lobster bisque. I didn't mind it. I'm not a fan of seafood, and I wasn't hating on this. My mother loves seafood and she hated the soup. My brother enjoyed it. So very mixed ratings on that one. Lol. Salad was great. Au gratin potatoes were good. Portion seemed huge on the potatoes, but that may simply be because I don't eat a lot of carbs. I loved the asparagus. I'm not a fan of asparagus overall and typically will avoid it. Here, it was incredible. I actually can't say enough good things about it. Tip: dip the asparagus in the four peppercorn sauce. It's amazing. We had breakfast here all three days we were in the hotel. It was less than spectacular. The service was great, I had no complaints there. The food was like a continental breakfast, only with slightly more options. That was about the only difference. The last day we were there, Monday, there was no buffet. It was ordering off the menu. I personally thought the prices for breakfast were ridiculous, and the food wasn't really any different than the buffet thing for the weekend. It wasn't terrible, just less than impressive. That's all. Would I return? Yes, I definitely would. I loved the dinner we had here, and breakfast was OK. Service was great, and it was enjoyable. Review 76 of 2017.

Yelp
This place is a HIDDEN GEM!!! I came here on a Groupon and was EXTREMELY impressed by the food and service. ENVY is located inside of the Renaissance hotel which made me a little nervous because not all restaurants in chain hotels are created equal, but this one EXCEEDED my expectations. Upon arrival we were promptly seated for our reservation in a tall booth that blocked the conversations of our neighbors. Our waiter Jacey (or J.C?) came over and explained the Groupon special to us which was extremely helpful. I started out with a perfectly made cosmo, calamari & shrimp, and the crab cakes. It was then that I realized that their SAUCES were top notch! The sauces served with the calamari were unique and delicious, and the chipotle aioli served with the crab cakes had the perfect flavor and hint of spice that paired well with the mango salsa! For my entree I had an 8oz Filet and added Béarnaise sauce. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium and the Béarnaise was DELICIOUS! I also tasted the porterhouse which was extra juicy, and the peppercorn sauce which was even better than my Béarnaise!!!! Also the MOUNTAIN of TRUFFLE FRIES.... let's just say I hate half of them before even touching my steak! For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake and cheesecake with berries. The chocolate cake was extra sweet and chocolaty and tasted more like a mousse, but was still good if you like sweet, chocolate desserts. The cheesecake was rich and creamy, and the berries tasted fresh. This experience was perfect from our awesome waiter, to the food, to the drinks, and the SAUCES!!! This restaurant will be on my list of places to visit in Vegas from now on!!!

Yelp
What a wonderful surprise to find such an amazing restaurant in a hotel. ENVY is five stars all the way. The service was perfect, the special Bloody Marys were beyond delicious and the food was out of this world. The Chilean Sea Bass was as good as the waiter promised. As were the lamb chops. Also had the creamed corn as a side (it could've passed for dessert.) I really hope to be back as soon as my travel schedule permits.

Yelp
Several years ago I purchased a Groupon for Envy and promptly forgot about it. Recently I decided that I should visit and at least use what I paid for the Groupon. I'm so glad that I did! Our dinner was great. Envy is inside The Renaissance which is also shockingly nicer than expected. The area around the hotel/restaurant isn't the greatest so I opted to valet my car. Valet was free for dining at the restaurant. Of course there is a tip, but the two valets I encountered were friendly and definitely deserving of a tip. Making a reservation through OpenTable was easy and I earned some points for the reservation. The restaurant has mostly tables, but there are a few booths. On a Wednesday night the restaurant was about half full. The ambiance was nice. It was not quite as swanky as some other steakhouses, but still had a nice restaurant feel. Our waiter took good care of us during our dinner. He did a good job of checking in and making sure we had everything we needed without intruding. The menu had many of the steak and side offerings that are typical at steakhouses. Pricing seemed a little bit lower than prices on The Strip. The bread basket with butter to start was fine, but not notable. My Filet Mignon was very good and prepared perfectly. The steak comes with a choice of sauce and I opted for Bordelaise. The waiter described it as a sort of mix between gravy and red wine sauce. That was the perfect description and it was delicious. I was torn about using the sauce because my steak was absolutely perfect without any sauce. My friend had the New York Strip steak. He also raved about his steak and the horseradish sauce on the side. We shared Bourbon Cream Corn, Whipped Buttery Potato Puree, and Chili Garlic Broccolini as our sides. The favorite for both of us was the Bourbon Cream Corn. The potatoes were really good at first, but lost some of their whipped texture and buttery flavor on second and third serving. The broccolini was very good and definitely a delicious way to enjoy vegetables. To finish off the meal we shared the Chocolate Lava Cake. This dessert was huge and much more dessert than expected. The lava cake was surrounded by a chocolate rice krispy ball and a scoop of vanilla ice cream with chocolate on top. The plate was garnished with plenty of chocolate as well. It was one of the most chocolate filled desserts I've ever had. The cake was delicious and very rich. I also enjoyed the rice krispy ball which was a lighter treat. The ice cream helped balance out the richness of all the chocolate. An unexpectedly great option for a nice dinner without heading to The Strip. I imagine I'll be back here for another great dinner in the future.

Yelp
Three course meal w/ drinks for a very reasonable price purchased from groupon. Delish and generous with portions. Every dish is amazing, except the mushroom. Its a bit salty for my taste, but other than that, it was great. The place is quite romantic and if you reserve a head of time, you will be seated right away. Friendly staff: very professional, attentive and great service. Fyi - You can self-park with a fee of $7.00 for 3 hours.

Yelp
My wife thought we would enjoy dinner at ENVY so she purchased the dinner for two with drinks Groupon for $115. We weren't disappointed as this discount is an excellent value and we definitely got our money's worth. My steak exceeded my expectations and our server gave us top notch service without any prejudices you might see with other establishments that know you are using a coupon. Parking was free for us at the Renaissance as the gate was open and the walk was short from the deck. We were seated immediately in a secluded booth when we arrived. The restaurant was quiet and not an overbooked madhouse where you can't hear yourself think or see your server only once or twice during the meal. Speaking of our server, Josh, with 11 years of experience, took great care of us, checking on us regularly. He guided us through the menu and offered great recommendations, even giving us a sampling of wine that we were on the fence about. He was great to talk to informing us about other specials the restaurant was offering in the future. The options for appetizers, sides, and dessert were standard for a steakhouse but executed well. The 28 day dry aged beef for my bone-in ribeye was cooked to perfection, tender, and full of juicy flavor. There are other seafood and a pasta options on the menu if you didn't want to go the beef route. Little things like a sticky menu and fingerprints on the wine glass were turn offs. But we'll keep this steakhouse as an option as long we have a Groupon so we don't have to bust open the piggy bank like we would on the Strip.

Yelp
My wife and I are new to the Las Vegas area. We have not yet developed our local "Go To" list of restaurants. It was also our 10th wedding anniversary. When the group-on came available (2 appetizers/2 drinks/1 side/2 entrees/2 desserts) I decided to check out Envy. It had fairly good reviews and we hadn't found "THE" restaurant yet, so we decided to give it a try. We arrived at the hotel and used the valet ($10.00) for our vehicle. The valet was friendly and escorted us into the hotel to show us the restaurant. It had a classic/modern appearance and was about 70% full - on a Tuesday evening (7pm). We were quickly seated at a table and introduced to out waiter for the evening. He quickly explained the group-on offer and the menu. Our order was quickly taken and drinks delivered. We ordered two Lobster Bisques/Garlic Broccolini/Shrimp entrée/Scallop entrée/Cheesecake/Brownie cake w/ice cream. The Lobster Bisque was made from a good tomato base and plenty pieces of lobster. Very tasty and enjoyable. My wife had the Shrimp Entrée. It was lightly toasted and moist. She enjoyed it immensely. I had the scallops wrapped in bacon. It was flavorful and moist. The Garlic Broccolini was almost inedible. The garlic was so strong that it emptied your sinus and burned your throat. The desserts were okay. The service was great, and the meals were enjoyable. The question was the value for your money? Was the atmosphere worth the elevated prices? No! Was the restaurant conducive for an intimate or personal dinner? No! (it was quite noisy the entire night that caused you to elevate your voice in order to be heard). Was the portions commensurate with the cost of the meal? No! ($38.00 for 4 scallops? Same for the shrimp). We enjoyed the service and the food was good but not really worth the time/money. For our 10th anniversary, the only thing memorable was the company.

Yelp
We went on a Groupon and it was a good deal.. the staff were super welcoming and friendly. Loved the ambience and the entire experience was really great. We had a special appetizer made by the chef for that day which was really great. The lobster bisque was good but a little too salty. The porterhouse steak was fantastic, as was the lobster tail. (I didn't love the crab stuffing on top, so they gave me an option of something else. I chose the side of spinach which was delicious! My bf loved the roasted mushrooms, but again they were too salty for me. We finished with dessert -- the chocolate cake was amazing... rich but not too sweet. And the cheesecake!! Amazing!! Soooo tasty. :-) Special shoutout to our waitress Stephanie, who was friendly, efficient, professional and excellent all the way around. We will definitely be back! Knocked off one star just for the excess salt in a couple of items.
