We had a busy day, and we were all craving some ramen to hit the spot! We knew If we went to our usual place, it'd probably be extremely busy with a waiting time, or close to closing. We drove by Enza, and decided to give it a shot after we finished our shopping we had planned.
Enza wasn't too busy, and they were practicing social distancing. They had several tables empty, staff had masks, cooks had gloves, and they were friendly. The place is pretty good size, and it is full of posters of their food, sales, sushi, drinks, etc. I love ramen and I love sushi. I thought, "what a great combination". Boy was I wrong.
We tried the tonkotsu ramen, I had spice level 3. We also tried the pollo ramen in spice 1, and miso ramen spice 2. The pictures you see are what was in the bowl. One strip of protein, half a medium boiled egg, broth, and ramen. We added corn, took off seaweed and black fungus. We tried the steamed dumpling, salmon roll, California roll, shrimp tempura roll, and the rainbow roll.
I was extremely disappointed with the taste of the food. There was such overwhelming chili oil flavor, that it took away the flavor of the broth. The pollo ramen was plain, we had to ask for limes to give it flavor, which they didn't have. The broth didn't taste like it was simmered 12-15 hours as their poster read. The meat tasted over cooked, and the sushi wasn't cold when it came to the table. It was bland, tasted a little strange. We took the ramen home, put some sesame oil, soy sauce, and mixed some broth in, but it didn't save it. The service was good, the girls were nice, and gave us time to see the menu. If we came up, it'd be for the dumplings, but this place was not one of my favorites sadly.
