If You Like These Miami Spots, Try These Broward Spots - Miami - The Infatuation

"Perfect if you like:Mi Rinconcito MexicanoBy now, lots of Miamians know that Calle Ocho’s Mi Rinconcito Mexicano is the place to go for affordable, delicious plates of filling Mexican dishes. Epazote hasn’t quite reached that status yet in Fort Lauderdale, but it deserves to be just as known. If you’re only getting one thing, make it Epazote’s pato con mole. The thick sauce does not cover the tender duck so much as it drapes over it like a velvet blanket. It’s got the indescribable flavors that emerge when something has been simmered for hours. Go here if the wait atLarb Thai-Isanis too long (they share a strip mall)." - Ryan Pfeffer, Mariana Trabanino

The 25 Best Restaurants In Fort Lauderdale - Miami - The Infatuation

"There’s not much to the dining room of this casual, narrow strip mall restaurant. The excitement lives on the menu. Epazote has two pages of Mexican dishes with big swings of citrus, spice, and a smoky mole you should prioritize. The shrimp cocktail is served in a goblet that requires two hands to grasp. Four generously stuffed enchiladas swim in salsa verde. And the pato con mole—amazing on its own—is served with a stack of fresh flour tortillas. It’s perfect for a casual dinner, or a handy backup plan if the wait at Larb Thai-Isan is too long (they share a strip mall)." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo

Epazote Mexican Restaurant - Review - Fort Lauderdale - Miami - The Infatuation

"This is the kind of strip mall restaurant everyone prays they live within takeout distance of. There’s not much to the narrow dining room—the excitement lives on the two-page menu of Mexican dishes with big swings of citrus, spice, and a smoky mole. Make sure you get some of that mole, maybe to round out some shrimp cocktail in a goblet that requires two hands to grasp or four generously stuffed enchiladas swimming in salsa verde. Whether you eat in or take out, the restaurant is a great choice for a casual dinner, or as a handy backup plan if the wait at Larb Thai-Isan is too long (they share a strip mall). Food Rundown Shrimp Cocktail You could just get chips and salsa, or you could get chips and this massive goblet of juicy shrimp in a sauce with just enough spice. Feels like an easy decision to us. photo credit: Cleveland Jennings / @eatthecanvasllc Enchiladas There are five sauce options to pick from. Mole wouldn’t be a bad choice (theirs is excellent), but the salsa verde is also a favorite. It’s got an immediate punch of lime that won’t weigh you down as you attempt to get through this generous potion. photo credit: Cleveland Jennings / @eatthecanvasllc Pato Con Mole You should be eating mole at Epazote, and this is the way to do it. The thick sauce does not cover the tender duck so much as it drapes over it like a velvet blanket. It's got whispers of chocolate, smoky chiles, and the indescribable flavors that emerge when something has been simmered for hours. The whole thing is easy to shred apart with a fork and make into tacos. That’s exactly what you should do. photo credit: Cleveland Jennings / @eatthecanvasllc" - Ryan Pfeffer

Google
Epazote was such a vibe! I felt like I was so welcomed here and the food was immaculate! Our waitress was very helpful when choosing from the menu - had we bigger stomachs, we probably would've ordered everything on the menu (..we did with the dessert menu) We came on Margarita Monday and were pleasantly surprised by not only the size of the margs, but the quality! Great spot for drinks! The molé was very flavorful and unique, and had a great spicy kick to it that added just enough heat to make its presence known but not too spicy! The quesabirria, tamale, gorditas, every single bite was blatantly made with utmost passion. I suggested this restaurant to several friends and family in the area after rolling out of here after all the food we ate. As I mentioned, had we had bigger stomachs, we would have probably tried everything on the menu. A fantastic gem in Ft Lauderdale. It's very clear the staff love what they do, and I will definitely be coming back

Came here for one last FL brunch before heading back to VA. This was probably one of my favorite Florida food experiences so far! Our server Karen was EXCELLENT. Very knowledgeable and friendly, not to mention she made sure we were well taken care of (despite being the only server on shift!). The restaurant itself was clean and well kept. The food and beverages were incredible. They had the best coffee I have ever had, and the tamales I ordered were amazing. Good food, good vibes, good people! I would love to come back on my next Florida trip.

Google
100/10, would definitely recommend. Everything about this place was wonderful. The staff was friendly and attentive. The margaritas were delicious and didn't taste watered down. The food was full of flavor, well seasoned, and super fresh. All around a great local spot.

Google
Growing up in a Mexican household eating Mexican food daily, Epazote offers the best authentic Mexican food in Ft. Lauderdale. The atmosphere and customer service is exceptional! We had the opportunity to meet Hugo the owner, and learned that most of his ingredients are imported directly from Mexico creating authentic and delicious dishes. We enjoyed the chilaquiles, cochinita pibil and the quesabirria tacos. We finished with the churros. Everything was a chef’s kiss!

Cristal D.

Google
This is probably the best Mexican food around the area, tacos are good and have a lot of meat!! My only complaint is that now my wife prefers their chilaquiles over mine because they are so good! Spicy sauce is actually spicy. The chef and his wife are really sweet. This is real Mexican food.

Erika W.

Google
The waitress was so kind! She took time to converse with us before and after our meal. We came in from out of town, and she was genuinely interested in our conversation. The food was pretty good. The churros were the perfect way to end our meal. I do recommend at least trying this small joint!

Google
Hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The food is a solid 10/10 — full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care. What really sets this place apart is the owner himself coming around to greet guests. That personal touch goes a long way and shows how much pride they take in what they do. You can feel the warmth and authenticity from the moment you walk in. Highly recommend Epazote to anyone who loves great Mexican food and genuine hospitality.

Google
This was my first time coming here. I was thoroughly impressed. Everything from the food to the staff. Tommy and Eric were our servers. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was delicious, and the portions were incredible. I had steak tacos and mushroom tacos. The sangria was wine based and super tasty. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
If you are looking for Mexican food go somewhere else. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD GO TO EPAZOTE!!! My wife wanted to take me to lunch and since we had been to EPAZOTE before, we decided to go there. We started off with traditional margaritas. Perfectly made, and refreshing. The last time we were there we had soup that was delicious so this time we tried a different one. We had the tortilla soup and it did not disappoint. Flavorful, just the right amount of spice and a bowl of deliciousness!! My wife had the barbecoa tacos and I had the quesabirrias. The most flavorful food there is. It's like an explosion of goodness in your mouth. We were stuffed but asked for a dessert suggestion. The owner/chef suggested a dessert that was his mother's recipe. It was a cross between a corn cake and flan with a caramel sauce. DELICIOUS!!! In short if you go to EPAZOTE; bring your appetite and try everything on the menu. You will not be disappointed and will be treated like family. We can't wait to go back!!!

Yelp
My visit to this Mexican restaurant in Fort Lauderdale was definitely an interesting one. The location is in a busy plaza, and finding it was a little tricky at first, but we eventually made our way in. We originally asked for indoor seating, but there was a private party reserved. I was genuinely surprised they take reservations given how small the indoor space is seating is extremely limited. Thankfully, they do offer outdoor seating, which is where we ended up. You can tell they really make the most of the space they have, and I appreciate the effort to accommodate guests however possible. In terms of service, everything was quick and pretty smooth. As for the food, it was well portioned and enjoyable. The flavors were solid and the plates were definitely filling. We had the chilaquiles and flautas as well as the queso fundido. However, the pricing was outrageous in my opinion. The fact that they charge extra for cheese really threw me off. Overall, the food is overpriced, even though it is good and the portions are generous. Because of the pricing alone, I personally would not return, but I can absolutely understand why it's a Yelp favorite the food is delicious and the serving sizes are impressive.

Yelp
I was in the area with my wife, and after a long time of trying to figure out what to eat, we decided to give Epazote Mexican Restaurant a try. When we arrived, there was a good crowd inside, which I took as a promising sign. Since they were holding a reservation for a larger party, we had to sit at one of the few tables outside. Thankfully, the weather wasn't unbearably hot that day. Looking at the menu, the first thing that stood out was the high prices. To be honest, they were steep enough that we almost left. But since we had already spent so much time deciding on a place to eat, we chose to stay and give it a fair try. We started with the Queso Fundido because why not? It came in a cup filled to the top with melted cheese and served with a mix of crispy chips and cut-up tortillas. I'm not sure what type of cheese was used, but it looked more like a mixed cheese dip than the traditional Queso Fundido I'm used to. For my main course, I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas. The portion was generous, and the flavor was excellent! I genuinely enjoyed this dish and cleaned my plate. The service was great as well. Every server we encountered was pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed. That said, I'm still a bit conflicted. Maybe it's because I was sitting outside just a couple of feet away from parked cars instead of inside, where I might have felt more connected to the restaurant's atmosphere. But overall, I did feel the pricing was on the higher end compared to other fantastic Mexican restaurants I've been to.

Yelp
Great Mexican food! Definitely worth the drive! I've been here twice and I love it. The owner is kind and thoughtful. The micheladas are big and so worth it! Very quaint spot!

Yelp
Sooo good!!!! We decided to take a ride to try Epazote- they had such good reviews on YELP which was very helpful. I am so glad we did! I have never had Mexican food like this. This restaurant was definitely clean , and decorated nicely. This restaurant is family owned, and the service was personalized. The owner's parents/ in- laws waited on us and explained the dishes as we ordered. The owner came out to greet us and was very friendly. We ordered Pozole Rojo soup - because of the great reviews on it. It did not disappoint. It came in a huge bowl, enough for 2. The owners father gave suggestions on how much spices to add to really enhance the flavor. We had the Quesabirrias- which had an incredible mix of flavors with a hint of cinnamon, and a Barbacoa taco, which was turned into 2 tacos because the portion was so generous. For dessert we had chocolate filled churros topped off with caramel sauce. I must say, you definitely need to come here and you'll be so glad you did!

Yelp
Small place but friendly service and cozy family atmosphere. I would recommend making reservations just to be on the safe side. On Sunday, in addition to their regular menu, they have brunch. I ordered cafe de olla, which is black coffee with cinnamon. It came in a clay cup and it was delicious. Also ordered esquites and they only had one order left so we nabbed it!! Esquites are corn kernels mixed together with mayonnaise, butter, lime juice, a hint of salt, chili powder, and cotjia cheese. They were nice and had a kick to them that you got at the end of each bite. We also ordered the chilaquiles in salsa verde with two sunny side up eggs and the quesobirria tacos. Unfortunately, the chilaquiles came in a red sauce but they were delicious! The plate had a small portion of beans and home fries. The chilaquiles, where basically fried corn chips smothered in a flavorful red salsa, and topped with various ingredients like: red onions, two eggs (although u can get chicken or meat), and other ingredients. The quesobirrias and the beef broth were good and stuffed with melted cheese. The owner came out to talk to us and when we asked for dessert, he told us about an elote flan he had just made and that wasn't on the menu. It was more of a cake consistency as opposed to a flan consistency and it was very tasty. We told the owner that it was a keeper!! We will definitely be coming back to try other items on the menu.

Yelp
My husband and I had almost given up on the idea of ever finding a decent Mexican restaurant in Fort Lauderdale serving real street tacos, tostadas, and shrimp cocktail UNTIL we found Epazote. We went on a Taco Tuesday evening and, luckily, snagged seats right away. Not long after, the restaurant filled up, showing just how popular this spot is. There's both indoor seating and a handful of outdoor tables. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming. Our waiter greeted us warmly and quickly took our drink orders. For food, I tried a chicken taco and a tostada, while my husband ordered carnitas tacos. The chicken taco, topped simply with cilantro and onions, was flavorful and moist--not dry or bland like we've had elsewhere. My husband was thrilled with his carnitas tacos and is already planning to come back to try one of their tortas. We also shared guacamole, which was fresh and tasty, though it would have been even better with warm chips. The staff was attentive throughout the evening, checking in, refilling our water, and even offering spicier salsas to kick things up a notch. Bottom line: Epazote is the hidden gem we were hoping to find. Delicious tacos, friendly service, and a lively atmosphere--it made for a perfect Taco Tuesday. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Small little strip mall type of place, they have about 10 tables. Very clean and inviting too. Waiter was polite and courteous, explained some of the food options. This is TRUE Mexican food too, it was delicious.

Yelp
What a great find! My BF said a friend had recommended Epazote, and having no plans on a Saturday we decided to give it a try. It's a small place but fun! Loved all the cure decorations they have on the walls, ceiling, and the "border" sign when you leave. All this makes you smile just as you are seating and waiting for your food. The menu has A LOT of options, and all looked amazing. I kept going back and forth between dishes but decided on the Ezquites (Mexican corn cup) as my starter and the Shrimp Quesadillas as my main, and added rice and refried beans. The Mexican corn was delicious and with a nice kick as it should be. And the quesadillas were perfect! The shrimp was nicely seasoned and cooked and the cheese melted to perfection. Rice and beans, also great! We saw a guy just come in for the pozole and so glad we got to try it too. This is a MUST have when there. Authentic flavor, a bowl of pure comfort and deliciousness. I left some of my food to go so I could have room for dessert, since their flan said "Homemade". I am picky about this dessert (my grandmothers made excellent ones), and I am happy to say this was on point. Then to be told it is one of the owner's mom who makes it. The same owners who wished us a good day when leaving and smiles when they saw us enjoying our food. Very impressed with Epazote! Looking forward to my next visit to try more of their dishes.

Yelp
Everything else was fine, but the pozole alone made this a 5 star lunch day. We didn't have a plan where to eat after the gym today, then I remembered a friend saying she found a place with pozole. It's rare in south Florida so I was dubious, but we checked out Epazote. We pulled in to the small spot and grabbed a table easily. Our server was a nice guy. I'm picky about my enchiladas and said so. I was going to get something else but he swore by em. The pozole only came as a meal but I go it also anyhow(it's why we were there). We also got the esquites(Mexican street corn). The corn and pozole came out first. The corn was pretty good, had a nice kick. It went well with my Mexican coke in the bottle(the best). The pozole was: The best I've had east of the Mississippi. The enchiladas came out next. Sadly they didn't hold up. The tortillas were tough, folded a bit like tacos. I got both the red and green sauces, and neither had almost any kick. They were fine enough. I know Florida Mexican spots don't really do good enchiladas so it's sorta my fault. We finished with some flan that was very very good. We liked it, and it seemed like a family owned spot. We will be back to try some other dishes, and definitely more pozole.

Jonathan G.

Yelp
Very authentic Mexican food, the food was awesome the soups are so yummy . We had sopa de tortilla as well as the pozole and both were full of flavor. The esquite was also outstanding amongst the better ones I've had. The service was super attentive as well, our waitress and the rest of the staff were polite and good at their job. The churros were also very very good. Honestly there's only a picture of the dessert because we ate everything very quickly

Yelp
Wow, where do I begin? I'm mad at myself that I didn't know about this sooner but there's a first time for everything! ‍ I chose to go here for my birthday and so glad I did! Our server was one of the owners and she was SO incredibly pleasant and sweet throughout our time there. It wasn't very busy when we arrived but it started to pick up as time went by. Our orders were made quickly and the food was brought out almost immediately. We started with fresh chips and guacamole - delicious. I didn't want to get my usual (protein, rice and beans) so I ordered the "huarache" street food dish - which was something new to me. It was a warm bean-filled flat corn cake, with a choice of protein on top (I chose chicken), smothered in yummy sauce (green or red), cotija cheese, and shredded lettuce. SO good. For dessert, my brother got the tres leches and I chose the chocolate churros for my birthday dessert. It's a cozy spot with chic cultural decor, and best of all, the bathroom passed the clean vibe check! 10 out of 10 - I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Jorge S.

Yelp
I had the pozole, wow this hit the spot. Great flavor and it comes with the traditional, oregano, sour cream, onions, cilantro and lettuce. If you like soups this is a really good one to try. Oh! Tons of pork.
google avatar

Jordan C.

Yelp
Staff, service, comfort are top notch. You cannot ask for a more friendly and attentive staff. Stopped in after lusting after their birria tacos long enough. They have wine and beer and select drinks made with wines. The chips, Guacamole and salsas are excellent. We ordered the Birria tacos, some food for our son and rice and beans. They have others beat on the rice and beans. The Birria tacos are a solid 7.5/10. But it was missing that pungent kick of salty, goey warm cheese on the inside and the crispy (almost burnt) shell that I have come to know and love from other local taco spots. Their meat had more cinnamon than I prefer. Filled solid with it, so it was definitely a healthy portion. All veggies (onions, tomatoes, cilantro, etc) were fresh. We will return for the staff alone and try some of their soups (looked awesome!) and other traditional dishes.

Yelp
So fabulous. Finally an authentic Mexican restaurant with super delicious food. And it's family owned and run. Have I mentioned that the food is phenomenal. And the family is amazing.

Yelp
I've been back and back again with friends, family. Eat in or take out, the food NEVER disappoints. It has become our go-to restaurant. Service is always quick. Hugo, the chef and his wife welcome you like you are family. Try it and you'll regret you haven't tried before.

CeCe M.

Yelp
This is the best authentic Mexican I've had in soflo. We ordered the chips and salsa. It came with thick cut chips, which I usually prefer. My husband and I split the Taquiza with melted cheese on top - it's a 10 taco platter for an affordable price. The chorizo taco was my favorite, the pastor taco was husband's. For dessert we ordered the flan and my husband loved the Mexican coffee. The owners were so kind and checked on our table multiple times. We ended up talking to them for a few minutes. They are a young couple, and you can tell they put their heart and soul into this business. The staff was amazing. They helped us choose a dish and seemed to really care.
google avatar

Eduardo C.

Yelp
Small, locally run place with great Mexican vibes and legit food from Mexico. We had the fish tacos, the quesobirria, and our favorite, the rajas tacos. Perfect blend of cheese and chile. The servings were plentiful and the price was good for the amount of food you received. About the only critique is that they charged $5 for chips and salsa. At least give the first round free and charge for refills if you want. That would have got me to five stars. Otherwise, everything else was great. I think the owner (or at least the manager) was running around, happy and greeting customers. Well done.

Yelp
Once again did not disappoint!!!! This time I brought my sis & mom for it was her BD. She wanted Mexican & I just had to take her here, even though it's a drive especially during traffic hours OMG, regardless she they enjoyed it very much! They're so pleasant especially the owner/chef! Glad we came. Ps-thank you for singing Hapi Birthday to her

Yelp
Food * * * * * Service * * * * * Ambiance * * * * * (simple, authentic and clean / not a chain rest. ) Excellent hospitality and food! I go there every week. Clean food, very tasty. Desserts are great too! What is so nice is they make you feel like part of their family. Wonderful all the way around!
google avatar

Alex N.

Yelp
I ordered the taquiza (taco sampler) and chips with guac. Unfortunately, the tacos and meat were very dry and lacked flavor--even the red and green salsas didn't help. The guac was okay, but the chips needed salt, and were pretty burnt which caused a bitter taste. I was excited to try this place, but I wouldn't recommend it based on this experience.

Yelp
AUTHENTIC real food. It's next level Mexican food. Soo incredible!! AMAZING service. Have been multiple times. They make it happen whatever it is. lol

Yelp
The atmosphere is fun and you can tell it's liked by the locals. They have indoor and outdoor dining. There is no bar area. We went on a Saturday for lunch. I had been wanting to try their tacos since they opened a year ago. We started with the freshly fried chips and salsa. They are the thick tortilla chips. It comes with a pico de gallo, red and green salsas. The red is a bit spicy. We ordered a variety of tacos. All the meats were a bit dry (reason for a star deduction). They were flavorful and came double wrapped in corn tortillas. The staff was friendly and seemed happy to be at work. There is parking in the attached lot.

Yelp
The food was truly unbelievable! It doesn't get more authentic than this! Highly recommend. Service, food and atmosphere were top notch!

Yelp
Man oh man. Authenticity is a 1000! Fresh food! Super clean kitchen and bathroom! Nice and home cooked feel to the food and mom & pop ambiance. The owners come and speak and serve just like the servers. They accommodate really well!! Alcohol is nice and strong. I had the quesabirrias meal & I left no crumbs. The street corn is AMAZING. It's spicy and it's a smooth spice. If I lived here I would make sure to befriend the owners so that I could either help and work (so I could try the entire menu over time) or just straight up become family friends! Love this place. And the owners welcomed my 7 month old with no issues! HUGE deal for me.

Yelp
Visited this place on a trip traveling with my family and all of the food was so flavorful and delicious!! The service here was amazing, the staff was so attentive and sweet to our larger party the entire time. We love finding mom & pop places like this and it's a must try!!

Yelp
A hidden GEM. Service was attentive, main chef photographed on the website was ON SITE, and every single item we ordered was cooked to perfection. The tacos were loaded and delicious. The cleanest tasting campechano tacos ever (other places are super greasy)!!!

Yelp
Server was wonderful. My fiancé was going on and on about the Quesabirria and how delicious it was. We are new to town and don't see many good Mexican restaurants here.

Yelp
We absolutely LOVED this authentic Mexican spot, the best we have had in the area. The chilaquiles were a game changer. Not overly soggy like you sometimes experience ... the chips were fried really well and the homemade salsas were incredible. This is a family owned Mexican restaurant truly a local gem. I loved the Birria tacos and appreciated that they were jampacked with meat. This restaurant does not skimp on the protein. Support local and try this spot, super kind husband and wife team! Service was speedy and attentive, the vibe of the restaurant is very welcoming for families as well.
google avatar

Yelp
The food here is so amazing!!! It's very authentic and the service is wonderful. It's a small hidden gem but worth the drive if you are in the area. I miss good Mexican food and this was perfect!

Yelp
Wow!!!! Just about the best Mexican food I have had in South Florida!!! Home made chips with the best freshest pico I've ever had. Wifey had the vegetarian taco. You will have to look at their menu to see what's in them. She was totally blown away. She said they were out of this world delicious. I had shrimp & steak fajitas. Just outrageously amazing. Full of flavor & a huge portion. Some of the best traditional churro's I've ever had. We are gonna be regulars. Do pass up this spot! Also the staff was really nice and we had a great conversation with Hugo's in-laws.

Yelp
My wife and I went on a date yesterday, and here was our experience. The environment of this place is so cozy and homey; all of the servers were very nice, sweet, and hospitable. The food itself was to die for. The menu has a lot of great options. We decided to go with the Taquizá platter, which contains 10 tacos (al pastor, carnitas, steak, chicken, and chorizo). This was also served with a really tasty green sauce, which only heightened the taste. Our favorites by far were the Al pastor and chicken tacos. What I really liked about the serving size was each taco was served with two corn tortillas and filled to the top. Normally, taco shops are pretty stingy with their protein; not here! If you want your money's worth and have great portions, this is the place to come. I couldn't end the night without dessert. The owner actually recommended the traditional churro, and boy, it did not disappoint. The churro had a wonderful blend of crispiness and softness. The texture was out of this world. But the best part was the special caramelized sauce that was drizzled on top. Overall, everything met my expectations. I'm definitely coming back and trying more of their wonderful menu.

Yelp
Incredible, unique and authentic!! Epazote is the best hidden gem I've found in years. The flavor of each dish is amazing and second to none. The owner and the staff members are extremely thoughtful and make sure you're well taken care of. Highly recommend and promise you will not be disappointed. Give Epazote a try!

Yelp
This was a very cute family owned business. We met basically everyone in the family when dining here. We came on "Margarita Monday" and my husband and dad got the mango and lime margaritas and unfortunately, they left much to be desired for (very weak and neon colored). I ordered the Paloma and it had much better flavor than theirs did. I also don't love when you have to pay for chips and salsa, but we did and it was pretty good for $5. We also got the queso and it was delicious as well. The real star of the show was our tacos though. $13 lunch special for 3 tacos, rice, & beans is a pretty great deal. We all really loved our entrees and mentioned if we lived here, we would definitely come regularly just for the tacos!

Yelp
Everything was so great! The quesabirria's were amazing and so flavorful. The mole sauce was delicious and tasted very authentic, I could even taste the chocolate. The service was also excellent. Everyone was very nice, welcoming, and attentive. The ambiance is casual but very nice with authentic Mexican decor with a great attention to detail. I'm would recommend Epazote to amazing looking for authentic and delicious Mexican food that you won't find in any other restaurant. Will definitely be going again!

Yelp
Repeat customer Review Food is excellent Service is superb Family owned and operated. The space is pretty small so perfect for small groups or couples which is all I can say but the ambiance is superb - love the sign above the front wall - you have to check it out On this trip we ate some tacos, Coctel de camarones and we ordered the fried snapper. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Next time we go we will get the grilled fish that is basted as it is turned over and over on the grill. A la talla! . We Always leave with a happy belly and a warmth that you can only get from good cooking!

Yelp
Super friendly service. Chef came out to welcome us and share recommendations. Food was perfect. Prices very fair. Tortilla soup was a hit. As were the traditional caramel churros for dessert.

Yelp
Service was awesome! Super nice people and attentive. Ambiance is cute too. It's small and quaint and was actually busy being that it was taco Tuesday. I ordered the shrimp taco platter and it was so good! Ordered a side of beans and rice to go with it. We also started with fresh baked chips and salsa! Had 3 different types! My husband ordered the carne asada tacos and chicken tacos. He also ended up ordering one el pastor taco too. Would definitely go back for another shrimp taco in the future!

Yelp
So overhyped.. not good or even close to authentic enchiladas I've had. My husband also ordered an order of beef quesadillas which cost $18 for 4 small slices of quesadillas on the plate. My husband thought he accidentally ordered off the kids menu. The horchata was good to say the least! First time coming here and definitely our last. Spent $45 on dinner than wasn't filling nor appetizing.

Yelp
Epazote GOOD: Nearly everything - friendly service, tasty authentic food, fair prices. BAD: Nothing really - if anything is lacking, tell the staff and they will accommodate happily Southern Florida isn't really the king of ethnic foods (see Larb for exception on Thai). Epazote however takes Mexican to a new level. Chips and tortillas- all fresh. The meats are juicy and the guacamole is super thick with chunks of avocados. It's not fancy, but it's supremely high quality. Head there on Tuesdays for "Taco Tuesday" for taco deals. This place is a must visit.

Yelp
Born in Mexico and this place is amazing , didn't think I was going to find good authentic Mexican food until I found this place . My favorite thing on the menu is the fish ceviche . My husband and I come about 2-3 times a week .

Food was amazing and truly authentic Mexican. Great service as well! Small spot, so I recommend making a reservation in advance.

Yelp
We were visiting and searching for a great Sunday brunch option. We stumbled across Epazote thanks to Yelp! The food was amazing. We were all blown away by the quality and taste! Between the three of us we ordered the Breakfast Burrito, Huevos Revueltos and the Omelette. Everything was fresh and made to order. Outstanding. I encourage you to try this family owned restaurant. To me food always tastes better when you are supporting a local business. Our server Eric was as outstanding as the food and even the owner stopped by our table. Thank you!

Yelp
1000000/10 best REAL mexican food in FL. Came in and the service was amazing, so welcoming also met the owners which was super accommodating & friendly (making me my chiles toreados!!) The vibes of this place were definitely like mexico. The tortillas were so good; the salsas were spicy, lots of flavor in the meats; asada, al pastor, chorizo, carnitas and even the torta de milanesa was 10/10. The agua de jamaica and horchata were soooo good too!!! Let me just say i will DEFINITELY BE COMING AGAIN. RECOMMEND!!!!

Yelp
I had dinner tonight at Epazote Mexican Restaurant, located at 6206 North Federal Highway in the heart of Fort Lauderdale. After reading the review of a friend and several others, I decided to check them out and I can safely say that this place is legit. They are cranking out wonderful authentic Mexican cuisine that is both visually appealing and delicious. Today is Taco Tuesday and what better time than now to try out a Mexican Restaurant for the first time. Don't be fooled by the size of this place, they will have your food order in front of you quickly. I started out with Birria Tacos for $16.56. This is a large portion, so bring your appetite. The beef was tender and delicious. The consommé was very flavorful and great for dipping. They also offered a house made sauce that was spicy and bursting with flavor. Great dish! I got an order of Mexican Rice and Refried Beans as well and I enjoyed them both very much. Next I tried a Chicken and an Al Pastor taco. Both were excellent. My server, Simonne was the star of the show tonight. She was very attentive without hovering, somehow she was just there when I needed her to be and within asking. She was very helpful with menu questions and suggestions. She recommended a few things to try on my next visit and I'll be sure to come back soon. If you love great Mexican cuisine and you appreciate good value, check out Epazote, you'll be happy that you did and you can rest assured that you are supporting our local restaurant community.
