Yelp
Lovely and lively hotel. Before arriving, I asked Kelley (via the BonVoy app) about a room with some degree of sound mitigation. She was responsive and moved us from room 209 to 415 (higher floor).
The walls are a tad thin, but a higher floor and sound machine app can address the street sounds.
The valets were efficient and helpful. Check-in was easy via the app, but my husband needed an actual key, so we stopped at the front desk. Kelley was there, offered us a glass of a reasonable wine (a cabernet for my husband and a chardonnay for me).
The room was comfortable and had sufficient towels, etc. A pleasant surprise.... a bottle of red wine compliments of management; Kelley remembered I had said it was a romantic getaway. (Thank you, Kelley!) Unfortunately, the next day we had to request new towels as housekeeping had removed all but a hand towel and bath towel.
The restaurant was engaged for a b'day party the first evening we were there, but the bar/lounge area was available for a drink and dinner.
Their old-fashioned tasted too...
"bitters". I asked to exchange it for a new one with less bitters, but then an off (moonshine?) smell was the result. My husband enjoyed his 4 Roses neat though.
We also shared a bottle of Louis M. Martini Napa cabernet for dinner; what's not to love with a $40, 90 pt cabernet!
Jenn, the waitress, was gracious and removed the OF from the bill, then it was added back?! Not sure what happened there.
The lamb was excellent. My husband loved the scallops, but was still hungry, so he had the chicken pot pie special (Jenn made it happen, even though it was just after 7 p.m.). Note to the chef - too much crust, but otherwise tasty! We then shared the brown cake w/marscapone (excellent).
The hotel has no breakfast on weekends? Daily Eats was a short walk away, but it seemed odd that there were NO hotel options for breakfast.
We were attending a Napa Wine Academy class (in the "theater"); nice location and a good class.
The 2nd/last evening there, we heard a bit of raucous activity in the hallway about midnight (a few choice swear words), but things quieted down quickly.
Check out was quick and painless.
A few things to work out which preclude a fifth star, but I have faith they will figure them out.
