Tampa Bay Bars and Restaurants Serving Astral Tequila | Eater

"Hyde Park’s Epicurean Hotel just completed a $21 million renovation, opening a new building just across Howard Avenue from the original. Pop your head inside to see what they’ve done, then wander across the street to one of Epicurean’s two cocktail bars. On a clear day, the move is to go upstairs to the Edge Rooftop Cocktail Lounge, where you can sip a drink while looking out at the Tampa skyline. If you’d rather be indoors, hit the lobby bar where expertly-designed cocktails are surrounded by original art. Whichever you choose, make sure you order the Passion Margarita with Astral Tequila, jalapeño-habanero agave, and passion fruit." - Matthew Meltzer

If this review is helpful, please make sure you leave it a like. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 This is a really cute boutique hotel. There is plenty of shopping nearby, and they have an awesome gym. Very private and very user-friendly. Rooms are very nice. I was given a room that didn't have a view, so you may want to ask for a room with a high level at this hotel. The bed slept well, and the shower had great hot water pressure. One thing that I didn't like about the room was that the lights were on a timer, so they were constantly going off while I was trying to get work done. When they go off, you can't turn them back on.You have to wait for them to reset. The staff was incredibly hospitable and yes, I would stay here again.

What an incredible place!! I have to say, Darren made our stay here TOP NOTCH! I travel quite a bit on business, and have stayed at nice hotels. The exceptional hospitality we received from Darren when we arrived at 1:00 AM absolutely blew my mind. I have been a Hilton guy for many years, but Darren may have single-handedly switched my allegiance!

Incredible Stay – Warm, Professional, and Memorable Stayed at the Epicurean Hotel from April 11–13 while visiting from the UK for my daughter’s wedding, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The hotel is beautifully designed, perfectly located, and offers outstanding service. My room (309) was spotless and comfortable, and the food — especially the post-wedding brunch — was top-tier. Special thanks to Ashton Hatter the Front Office Manager, who took such great care of me — truly professional and kind. Also big thanks to Nick (F&B Mgr) & Audrey Greminger (Dir of Sales), and the amazing Housekeeping team. The pool deck and gym were excellent too — clean, quiet, and well maintained. A fantastic place all around. Grateful for the experience!

This is a very nice boutique hotel. It's close to the water as well as to restaurants. There are actually two hotels as they remodeled the building across the street. Our room, King Suite, was very nice and since we were in building 2, it eas fairly quiet. Rooftop bar is nice but mainly for young people. Food is superb as they focus on quality (James Beard chef) with a huge focus on wine. The kitchen is a teaching kitchen so reserve your seat if you can. Wine store on site, ice cream next door, what more can you ask. Really enjoyed our stay.

A beautiful autograph property nestled in the heart of the Tampa Bay Area, where the road runs along the inside of the bay. I asked them for an upgrade and they were kind enough to accommodate. You can check a look at the video that I just took as well as some photographs of the property. I could’ve sworn I’ve already done this before, but perhaps it falls off after amount of time. They do a really great job of providing all the accoutrements that you would need to stay in a hotel room check out some of the images here. I would give this a 4.9 out of five. It’s near perfect in every way and I highly recommend staying here at the hotel when you have some time. Tell him Hank the traveler sent you

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Epicurean Hotel in Tampa from April 11–13 while visiting from the UK for my daughter's wedding, and I can genuinely say the experience exceeded every expectation.||||From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the beautifully designed interiors. The food and beverage theming throughout the hotel is not only tasteful but perfectly curated — it adds a distinctive charm that sets this hotel apart. My room (309) was spotless, incredibly comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. Every detail had been considered, and the overall cleanliness and attention to guest comfort was outstanding.||||Special thanks must go to Ashton Hatter, the Front Office Manager, who looked after me with such professionalism and care. Ashton clearly runs a tight ship — it’s evident he’s respected by both the team and guests, and he ensured everything during my stay flowed seamlessly.||||Nick, the Food & Beverage Manager, also deserves a mention for his attentiveness and for overseeing such a memorable dining experience. The food was absolutely superb — especially the post-wedding brunch, which was a highlight for me. The theatre kitchen venue was truly unique and added a special flair to the occasion.||||A big thank you as well to Audrey Greminger, Director of Sales, for her gracious hospitality and for helping make the wedding weekend run so beautifully. And to Housekeeping — your work does not go unnoticed. The room was immaculate and serviced with care and consistency throughout my stay.||||This hotel is a real gem. Everyone I encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely invested in making my visit special. I’m so happy I made the trip — not just for the wedding, but for the chance to stay at such a remarkable place.||||Thank you all for the unforgettable experience.||||Warmest regards,||Richard

We stayed at the Epicurean Hotel in Tampa last week and had a truly fantastic experience—wish we could have stayed longer! The location is absolutely perfect, with lots of great local restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. There's even an incredible homemade ice cream shop just across the carpark that was a hit with the whole family!||From the moment we arrived, the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful—nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spacious, bright, modern, and spotless. With two large queen beds, it was perfect for our family of four and gave us plenty of room to relax together.||The food at the hotel was delicious—we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, and the coffee was spot-on too. The pool area is a peaceful little oasis with fancy, comfy sunbeds that made it feel extra luxurious.||Parking was easy with the valet service, and everything about our stay just felt seamless and relaxing. We would highly recommend the Epicurean Hotel and will definitely be back next time we're in the Tampa area!

We really enjoyed our stay at Epicurean. My husband and I went for my birthday and stayed 3 nights. They greeted us at check in with a complimentary glass of wine and a complimentary bottle of wine was waiting in the room. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Great dining and bar too. Very walkable neighborhood with lots of restaurants and a convenient drive from most of our destinations. We’d definitely stay again.

Yelp
What an absolutely great hotel. The entire staff - from valets to front desk, to wait staff to housekeeping are all so professional and friendly to guests. Clean and 'cool vibe'. Great breakfast and we love the rooms - spacious and modern. Room service is fast! Highly recommend this place for a great price and near all there restaurants/bars on SoHo.

Yelp
Amazing hotel and amazing service!!! So close to many restaurants in the SoHo area and Hyde Park area. Everyone on property is extremely nice and makes you feel right at home. If you want to walk/run on the trail by the bay. That's only a 9 minute walk from the hotel. This is a wine inspired hotel. So the free wine when you check in is awesome!! I love this hotel and will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
We have stayed here several times over the years. We came for a one night staycation to enjoy dinner across the street at Berns Steakhouse. We have been going to Berns for over 40 years and as soon as The Epicurean opened it has been our choice to stay with them. The hotel is in the Hyde Park area of Tampa. They hold cooking events and classes in a room off their lobby. They also have win store off the lobby. There is a restaurant and bar on the property has great cocktails. The rooms are always clean and the beds are comfortable. When you check in you are offered a glass of wine which is a nice touch. There is a rooftop bar that opens at 5:00 pm that is pretty popular. The hotel has valet only parking for a reasonable price. It's a great choice when you are in the Tampa area.

Yelp
The Epicurean is an artsy boutique hotel with a contemporary design and superb staff. It has been opened for 10 years in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Tampa. If you've stayed at a 21c or Grand Bohemian, you'll love the Epicurean. When you check in, they serve you a glass of wine. Nice touch! Arriving at my room (which the host said was the best in the hotel), I looked out the window and saw the famous Bern Steak House across the street. What I've loved in the room was the super plush bed and the twin headed shower, that delivers a powerful spray. I was not a fan of the fiber-filled pillows. Not comfortable. The fourth floor is where the hotel's Edge roof top bar is located. Other than being outdoors, there really isn't a view to be had. When I returned to my room after a quick visit to the workout room, there was a handwritten welcome note and a bottle of champagne. That's how you make a positive impression! The workout room on the second floor is tiny and needs to be cooler. But I enjoyed a quick run on the treadmill. Because of my status with Marriot Rewards, I was given two $10 certificates for cocktails and one for breakfast at Elevage. The certificate is good for eggs, protein and toast, which was served super fast. My biggest surprise was the certificate didn't cover my coffee and orange juice. I've never experienced that at a Marriott property.

Yelp
Brunch by the pool is one of my favorite things to do in Tampa. My brunch date and I spent a beautiful Sunday at the Epicurean recently. We sipped fruity cocktails while chillin' in the water, and ate delicious meals on the patio. Brunch was from Elevage, the restaurant inside in the hotel. I had the Steak & Eggs (steak tips, two farm eggs, chimichurri, roasted potatoes). Near perfect, just the steak was overly salted. He devoured the Homage to Berns (shaved ribeye, caramelized onion, Alpine cheese, onion Jus, onion rings, bread). Loved every bite. I had been to the Epicurean before and feel it's consistently well kept and pretty. Service is excellent from valet to closing out the bar tab. Pool could use some music to drown out surrounding traffic.

Yelp
A beautiful property in the heart of SOHO Tampa. Convinently located near popular restaurants and bars. Cool vibe throughout hotel with many nods to Wine and a foodie delight. Locally made Icecream shop on the property and small eaters nearby.

Yelp
I've stayed here two times over the course of a three month window. Their service was pretty much the same each time. Check-ins and check-outs were quick and easy. The staff were friendly. The room is pretty standard and very clean. What's unique about this hotel? Their wine boutique and affiliation to Bern's Steakhouse across the street. They have an Epicurean theater experience on the first floor as well. I have tried their restaurant, Elevage, a few times. The menu changes on weekends and in the morning you might not know where to sit. The hostess/host isn't always around. In addition, the happy hour scene during the week is a bit loud. And guests at the hotel might not get priority seating in the dining room. This happened to me one night when the hostess explained I was too early. She didn't tell me I needed reservations. I came back around 5:30 pm to beat the rush and grab a quick salad. She told me I would have to sit outdoors or in the same area that was loud that I wanted to avoid in the first place. I sat outside and felt a bit confused during the meal that I hadn't been informed in our previous discussion (30-40 minutes earlier) about their strict reservation policy. Overall, the hotel staff is very pleasant and my experiences there have been great.

Yelp
Lovely hotel in a great location. Checking in was smooth and service all around was great. Staff was courteous and you're given a welcome drink upon check-in. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was large, and the hotel grounds were clean and well-maintained. We had breakfast at the hotel and everything was really good. From fluffy eggs and crispy bacon to their homemade butters. Valet parking is available. I would definitely stay here again if I had the opportunity.

Yelp
Love that you are greeted with a glass of wine. Really great first impressions. Missed opportunity. I asked for certain items to be in my room. Didn't happen. I was awaken by construction this morning and they never shared it with me. Too many excuses. Now the gym is closed. They should really let people know these things.

Yelp
We only stopped here for drinks before dining at Bern's, so my review is strictly on the bar. The bar and seating area are very nice with a unique decor. I ordered my typical lemon drop martini, and it was good, but rather on the small side for the price.

Yelp
Very nice boutique hotel located near 50+ shops, bars, and restaurants. Good location and very friendly staff. Stayed in the new building and was pleasantly surprised. Nice big rooms with comfortable bed and great shower. Would definitely recommend if you need a hotel in the area

Yelp
Everyone we met was top notch. Great location, walking distance to the waterfront and fun dining options. Wish we'd had more time to explore a little more on the bikes they had (first hour was complimentary). Nice room. Illy espresso for our mornings.

Yelp
Can't say enough about this hotel. We were greeted at valet by the nicest gentleman who was so helpful from the get go. The staff at check in were just as nice and even gave us a glass of wine. We stayed in the Junior suite and it was lovely! So spacious! And the decor was cool. There was a shower and a bath tub - I don't think I've been in such a large tub before! We are in the restaurant and the food and service were amazing- no need to even leave the hotel for dinner. We would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
This is a 6 star hotel 2nd time staying here and it's even better than 4 years ago. Talking from experience here with over 1700 nights over the last 17 years with Marriott. This is a Marriott property. I don't work for Marriott. This place is impeccably detailed and clean. Nothing is out of place or beat up like most hotels. The staff all the way around from the vallet parking guys, to the staff at the restaurant Elevage, to the maid staff, and the front desk. This is a fully staffed hotel like most hotels should be. Even the elevators are pristine and work like it should. Even the opening of the door to your room is flawless. Gym was excellent. Roof top bar excellent plus they have a wines shop and an instructional room for wine tastings and food tastings. The room itself is amazing rain shower, Booz bar if you want it but you gotta pay for that with snacks. Free water bottles all over the place. The bed was excellent. Every thing at the Epicurean is TOP NOTCH no expenses spared. The location is great because of all the great restaurants on Howard. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about anything or anyone that works at this location. #1 hotel in Tampa for sure ...tell me one that's better go ahead I'd like to visit
google avatar

Yelp
From valet, to check in staff with a complimentary glass of wine, to the restaurant service and food, everyone is professional, caring, and kind! Back to the food at the restaurant, phenomenal! Rooms are large and comfortable. There are lots of things to do and places to eat within walking distance. We've stayed in several Tampa (Water Street) hotels and Epicurean is far superior.

Yelp
I stayed here for one night because my flight got canceled and wanted to be close to Hyde Park and Bayshore. I booked through a third party "Hotels Tonight" app which I usually use when I'm in need of a hotel and I've never had an experience like this one. The hotel is nice, wine themed, charming and clean. However the next day when I go to check out I notice my bank account is drained... I go and look what had happened and see not only did my room cost over $400 (which I expected that charge plus their $50 incidental hold) BUT ANOTHER whole other $300 even charge! I go to the front desk and inquire what this is. They tell me it's because I booked through a third party and that they didn't have access to the 'virtual card' the third party website provided them. I'm confused. They tell me it was their mistake and that they already reversed the charges...I always use hotels tonight and have never had an issue like this. I ask them if there is anyway I can get an instant refund as this is a lot of money to be taken out of someone's account for just one nights stay. They tell me it's out of their hands and that they've already reversed the charges meaning it'll be 3-7 business days till I see my money) but I can call my bank if it's really that big of an issue. So I leave feeling kinda scammed and not taken care of. Now it's one day later and I check my account again and there is ANOTHER pending charge on top of the $400 & $300 & $50 charges... a charge for $303 !!??! Now I'm extremely frustrated. I will be calling my bank in the morning because this hotel has put me $1,091 in the hole (hopefully temporarily) for a one nights stay that was supposed just be $393! it's still nerve racking to see this hotel charging me

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR THEIR CLEANLINESS, EFFICIENCY, AND FRIENDLY STAFF FIRST Christine was sweet and helpful by checking me in early. SECOND The room was ultra clean THIRD The maids were very friendly and hardworking LASTLY The shower was amazing, and the patio was nice too I also recommend the breakfast at the restaurant, excellent service / excellent food

Yelp
Very nice Hotel. That being said I placed an order from their restaurant which is across the street at their front desk. They failed to tell you that truffle fries are six dollars more for the upgrade they just simply ask you would you like truffle fries or regular regular fries. Very bad I said I did not want to pay for a room service charge I'll just come down and get it and they still tried to charge me almost 9 bucks for a room service charge. I don't like the way they do business I don't like the way many companies do business nowadays. They nickel and dime on every damn thing there is. I would not patronize this hotel or this restaurant again. Inform the customer of any price changes when you place your order.

Yelp
Gorgeous hotel, helpful staff, wonderful restaurant (Winney is fabulous, visit her at the rooftop bar with adorable sunhat ceiling lights!), waterfront-what's not to love?

Erika P.

Yelp
I checked into this hotel today and have mixed feelings. Check in was great, staff very friendly. I am a Platinum member so I should be getting any upgrades without asking, I asked if there were upgrades available and they said there was a deluxe room with a terrace. I said that sounds great. I get to the room and I feel like I could touch the highway from the terrace. Normally that would not be a big deal but I do have an early morning meeting so I would like to ensure not to be in a noisy room. I call to the front desk asking to be moved to the originally reserved room. They say there is a room down the hall with a terrace that would be less noisy. We go to that room, it sounds much better. Once the door is shut I realize it is incredibly dark in the room, this is the middle of the afternoon when the sun was in full effect. If I was not on a work trip this would be an advantage but I could not imagine how I could get any work done in an insanely dark room. I call down to the front desk **incredibly apologethic** asking if I could be in a room with more light. They move me again to another room. This time it looks amazing but on further inspection it is a tub with a pretty gross shower curtain. At this point I call down asking if I could please just get the room I originally booked. The manager called me and offered me a room in an adjacent building that would be quieter and updated. We go over to the room, it is also incredibly dark and removes me from the amenities of the hotel. I am exhausted at this point and I say this is fine. I sit here trying to go to bed but I realized there is no way to turn off the bathroom fan, it is on constantly. I find irony in the fact that I was trying to get away from highway noise and they moved me to this building since it is so quiet to realize there is no way to turn this noise off.

Yelp
I do NOT recommend this business. From the shady valet (who I suspect was trying to sell me something) to the rude AF front desk clerk who couldn't bother to explain the Bonvoy package I purchased. The rooms are middling and the food is mediocre. Not worth the price of the rooms. So disappointing. I was looking forward to my stay after all the hype around a food and wine themed hotel. Live and learn. Save your cash.

Yelp
Came here for a little weekend "staycation". We're from tampa but wanted to try something different. We were greeted kindly and were able to get an early check in. Once checked in we went to the spa and had a couples massage. The massage was amazing and we were greeted with champagne after. Then we took the bikes that the hotel provides and biked down Bayshore. Once we returned and got ready we went to the bar downstairs for a drink before dinner. The wait staff was super nice and talked to us the whole time. The next day, check out wS super easy. The room was amazing. Bed was super comfy, the blackout curtains allowed us to relax and sleep in. The bathroom and shower were to DIE for with two shower heads. The front desk staff were all very welcoming and kind. 10/10 would recommend

Yelp
This is just based on my experience with a Wedding reception. The staff was friendly and everyone wore masks and if you lost yours they had plenty of black masks and sanitizers for everyone. The reception was everything you'd want in a wedding. Delicious food, helpful peoples, open bar, and staff ready to assist in everything. There would periodically be a staffer periodically making sure everything was on track and timed well. Overall a great event and I can say with confidence events at the Epicurean are top notch.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel for a stay! Has a pool and beautifully decorated rooms and lobby. There is a bar in the lobby and a dining room apart from a conference room as well. The rooftop is a must see-very interesting sites. You'll find interesting artwork and woodwork throughout. The lobby has twists and turns with every area well lit and inviting.

Yelp
This hotel is pretty great. We decided that for our anniversary, we would do a wee staycation at the Epicurean for the weekend. I saw on the webpage that they had a room package that included a reservation at Bern's. Now- those are very hard to get these days, and I loved the idea of getting a reservation at Bern's in a low stress way. I called the hotel and told them I wanted the package but a different room, and they easily made that happen for me. They asked what day and time during my stay I wanted my Bern's dinner and again, easy peasy. When we checked in, the front desk was very friendly and fast. Because it was our anniversary, they left a nice bottle of wine and a charcuterie board in the room for us with a lovely, welcoming note. The room was wonderful, and except for an occasional guest in the hall belting Rolling Stones tunes or Halloween scare screams (concert and Halloween weekend), the room was very quiet, the windows must be fantastic, because the highway is right there and we heard nothing. The bed was comfy, and we loved the variety of pillows. The bathroom was nice and plenty of towels and toiletries were on hand for us to use. We did dine in the restaurant a few times, I'll leave a review for that separately. The rooftop bar was very cool, and the drinks were tasty! We had a very relaxing and luxurious time at the Epicurean and hope to make it an annual trip. *The only thing I wish was different was an additional blanket somewhere. I'm sure we could have gotten one had we asked, though.

Yelp
My regret about this hotel? I didn't stay for longer! The staff are professional and welcoming, the neighborhood is enjoyable (lots of eateries and whatnot to be found), everything is so clean and well cared for, and I just generally felt a real sense of relaxation while being here. Plus, the rain forest shower is amazing... I was reeeeeeeeeal tempted to just stand in there for like, an hour. Overall, the amenities are certainly a big part of what sets this hotel apart from others in the area... and while I didn't personally partake in things during this single night stay like yoga & wine education classes, the hotel restaurant, etc? They're at the top of my list whenever I return to Tampa; because honestly, I have no doubt that I'd want to stay in this amazing hotel again. Side note: I had a room with terrace access, but didn't get to spend any time outside due to some rainy conditions. I'd probably forgo that option next time, especially because it's shared terrace space.

Yelp
This is a great location right near the Hyde Park area. If you are visiting you should definitely pop in for a drink at their roof top bar or the lobby bar - both are great. If you head to Bern's for dinner this is a great alternative to Bern's Bar when it is busy because it is right across the street. It is also close to the speakeasy Ciro's so if you are staying at the hotel there are some cool places to visit within walking distance. The decor is very chic and they show off local artists and hold events to promote them from time to time - the art is also available for purchase. I was able to sample some of the food at the restaurant- Elevage - and the food was excellent. Their executive chef used to be the chef at the Fenway Hotel up into Dunedin. I highly recommend the scallops if they are in the menu when you visit. They also have a theatre where they teach cooking classes from time to time. The staff was also very friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, a great experience.

Omg, we love this hotel and bar! We stay here every time we visit my sister. Derek is the BEST bartender, EVER! Talk about service... this guy is charming, helpful, and super friendly! Stop in ask for Derek, he will treat you right.

Yelp
This place is conveniently located across the street from Bern's and about a ten to fifteen minute walk to Hyde Park Village. Friendly staff- checkin was easy and we had friendly service at breakfast for two days. The room was comfortable but needs a little updating and better cleaning. We did not like their toiletry products and glad I packed our own. Family owned hotel and steakhouse across the street. The area has changed a lot within the past five years.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero stars I would. I had booked two different rooms at this hotel on a Saturday night that were on different floors. My friends and I had went out for the evening and returned to the hotel. While 2 of the guests went to the other room to sleep on the second floor. My other room that was booked was on the third floor which is where the rest of my friends and I were. It was late in the night and we did have some music playing. This caused us to get ONE noise complaint which was verbally given to us very aggressively by Raymond, the night manager. We had then turned the speaker completely off and the rest of the guests who were going to stay in the room on the second floor were packing their bags to go to sleep in that room. Not even five minutes later as my guests were walking out the door he barged back into the room yelling at us to leave the establishment. He then also proceeded and said he was going to call the cops along with kicking out the two guest who were sleeping in the other room, which that room did NOT get a noise complaint. Raymond proceeded to also argue with me very loudly in the hallway, which I'm sure was more disruptive than the music that was turned off. The two guests who were quietly sleeping in the room on the second floor were then kicked out by Raymond for no reason. When asking for a refund from the director of the hotel, everything seemed very shady. No refund was provided for the room that only had 2 guest in it that were sound asleep. My advice is to stay at ANY other hotel. Besides the view is of the street and parking lots, plenty of other hotels very close by that have much better views. Never staying at another Marriott again, but if you want to be aggressively removed from the property by a man who is the most unprofessional manager I have ever met, then this is your place.

Yelp
We ordered a Easter ham from here to support a local business. It was super delicious and well worth it. They delivered it right to our car when we pulled in. I'm enjoying some amazing leftovers right now! Thanks Epicurean!

Yelp
Epicurean is soho area hotel that very close busy business district. The name is actually a Greek name from a philosopher. This philosopher believes in pleasure in good for the spirit. They emphasized relax not just on their spa retreat, but also their pool, garden, and fitness center. We were here for a deer friend baby shower. We have the food from hotel restaurant brunch and the their dessert store. I may have to visit them in the future. The service we received is very nice. We started with their o'dour. Which is very good. I like the scallops and veggies roll. The entrée with the shrimp and grits has good flavor. Not as creole cuisine but it has it on touch. The macaroons was with multiple flavors that make it interesting. I can see the hotel is in the right location. It is easy walking to many place. This is deep in the South Tampa Community. Which is not many hotel nearby here and make them stand out.

Yelp
Absolutely average hotel. Rooms are fine, but unsure why you'd want a view of the overpass or parking lot when there are so many other great hotels in the area. We had an unfortunate experience at the downstairs restaurant too, and the front desk manager was overly dismissive. Would not go back.

Yelp
All I can say is WOW! Huge shout out to the following people for making our stay incredible. Morgan Kate Michelle Melody & Cara (in the restaurant) We were in town for an event, and these wonderful individuals helped us manage our stay (and our family lol). They truly went above and beyond, making us feel comfortable and at home. On our first night in Tampa, we had late reservations at Berns, which we, unfortunately, missed due to a delayed flight. Clearly disappointed, the front desk staff was able to recommend the Green Lemon, which was open late, and was exactly what we needed after a long day of traveling. Not to be undone, on the next night, they were able to get us into the nearby speakeasy, Ciros (password and all!). Finally, on one of our last nights in town, they were able to secure us a last-minute reservation at Berns. According to family in the area, this is a nearly impossible feat. Apparently, not too big for this group. The food, service, and hospitality went above and beyond our expectations. In summary, this staff made our stay incredible. They helped us secure memorable dining experiences and truly enjoy our time in town. We will definitely be staying here any time we are in the Tampa area.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went for our anniversary the other day. The server was great. Manager congratulated us. They gave us drink vouchers for the rooftop bar. They went out of their way to make us feel special. Would recommend

Yelp
Nice staff for sure. Channel 2 for room service not working. Called down and concierge offered 4 choices. This is during the day. Dinner I think is available. Also states go to website but no way to order. Pool is no. 75 degrees. Very disappointing. Room is very nice.

Yelp
Beautiful and elegant accommodations. Spotless. Attentive and friendly service. Across the street from Bern's steakhouse, where we had a delicious meal. Wonderful experience!

Yelp
Nice hotel. Great bar scene. BAD news! The bars close BEFORE midnight! I tried talking to management and he said that's just the way bar management said it is. Good rooms and friendly staff. The roof top bar was NOT open when we arrived because they were doing construction (Who does construction on a Friday?). The rooms were nice. My main first ration was that I asked to have some shoes polished. The guy who is polishing the shoes seems very nice. He's very engaging and someone that you would like to help out. All that said, I dropped off the shoes and he said they would be done in 30 minutes as soon as he finished a pair of ladies sandals he was working on.. I proceeded to wait for my shoes, but once he finished ladies sandals he went on to other people shoes who weren't waiting. So there I was sitting there as I watched him polish other pairs of shoes. So then I decided I didn't need help this guy out, so I got my shoes back to which he objected saying mine were next. Which is of course what he told me when I dropped them off. The Epicurean management needs to recognize that EVERY employee represents your brand. The ironic aspect is that I'm here with a group of guys for a wine weekend, and several of us were going to bring this guy shoes to be polished. Then he decided to ignore my shoes so no he missed six other pairs. I don't think this dissuades is from the Epicurean but we won't worry about getting shoes polished here.

Yelp
After slowly trying to escape the Covid cloud that had hung over everything the last year and a half my BFF and I decided a pool day of ladies who lunch was In order. We made our pool pass reservation f20 each and off we were. We got a lovely pool day, complete with poolside food and drink service as well as lounge chairs and umbrellas. The pool was heated and very pleasant. We order the Bern's steak sandwich, if you know, you know, and their dreamy grilled cheese along with two fancy cocktails. It was such a lovely day. Perfect way to sorbs the day. I'm looking forward to going back very soon.

Yelp
Review of SPLASH Summer Pool Parties Fruity drinks? Check. Instagrammable floats? Check. Live DJ? Check. Cornhole? Check. The only thing that would make this place better is if there was a bigger pool, however, there always seemed to be space to hang out so I can't complain too much about the size of the pool. I came with two friends to check out the July SPLASH Summer Pool Party. It was filled with young, fun people (seriously, how did they find all the hip under 40-year-olds?) yet it never felt too packed. It was always super easy to get a drink and we were able to snag a couch to leave our stuff. Speaking of drinks, if you want a picture worthy one, grab a Pina Colada. They come in the most adorable pineapple glasses and they pack a pretty mean punch. When it is super hot, a frozen drink is what you need when hanging out by the pool. What really makes this party are the floats - they have a million of them. There are pink flamingos, ducks, doughnuts, popsicles, you name it, they probably have it. It definitely makes the pool more crowded, but it is so worth it. I took a million pictures with those floats. Valet parking is free until 5 p.m. so there is really no reason to skip a pool party this summer. It is definitely a fun time.

Yelp
I wish I could give 2.5 stars. This hotel markets itself as a luxury hotel but that's so far from the truth. It's a decent hotel but by no means is this a luxury property. I might stay here again if I lowered my expectations a bit. I think my stay started off on the wrong foot so perhaps that impacted my experience. I reserved a King balcony suite. Check in is at 4:00pm and I arrived at approximately 4:20pm. I was told my room wasn't ready because the occupants before me arranged for a late check out. The front desk was nice enough and offered a complimentary glass of wine. Well one hour later and two glasses of wine and my room was finally ready. The front desk also offered some monetary compensation for the inconvenience which I accepted. I get to the suite and it's very nice. The furnishings were a little on the cheap side but it was nice enough. My biggest complaint is with housekeeping. On day 2 of my stay they did not supply the customary two bottles of water that is advertised in the room. In addition they did not even wipe the counters or sinks down. The stains on the counter from the coffee in the morning were still there. They also did not refill the coffee station with coffee and creamer. What hotel doesn't do this????? In the bathroom they only left one bath towel. There were 3-4 the prior day and luckily I stored one in the closet. Also the towels they left were old, worn and frayed. This may be a bit picky but the design of the bathroom sinks is also flawed. You cannot turn the faucets on or off with wet hands. There is absolutely no grip. In conclusion I might stay here again because the location is good however I will know what to expect going forward. This is a moderate level hotel trying to be a luxurious property. They have a lot of work to do. The Good: Great location Very comfortable bed Blackout shades in room Wine The Bad: Housekeeping Bathroom sinks Frayed/worn towels

Yelp
Lovely and lively hotel. Before arriving, I asked Kelley (via the BonVoy app) about a room with some degree of sound mitigation. She was responsive and moved us from room 209 to 415 (higher floor). The walls are a tad thin, but a higher floor and sound machine app can address the street sounds. The valets were efficient and helpful. Check-in was easy via the app, but my husband needed an actual key, so we stopped at the front desk. Kelley was there, offered us a glass of a reasonable wine (a cabernet for my husband and a chardonnay for me). The room was comfortable and had sufficient towels, etc. A pleasant surprise.... a bottle of red wine compliments of management; Kelley remembered I had said it was a romantic getaway. (Thank you, Kelley!) Unfortunately, the next day we had to request new towels as housekeeping had removed all but a hand towel and bath towel. The restaurant was engaged for a b'day party the first evening we were there, but the bar/lounge area was available for a drink and dinner. Their old-fashioned tasted too... "bitters". I asked to exchange it for a new one with less bitters, but then an off (moonshine?) smell was the result. My husband enjoyed his 4 Roses neat though. We also shared a bottle of Louis M. Martini Napa cabernet for dinner; what's not to love with a $40, 90 pt cabernet! Jenn, the waitress, was gracious and removed the OF from the bill, then it was added back?! Not sure what happened there. The lamb was excellent. My husband loved the scallops, but was still hungry, so he had the chicken pot pie special (Jenn made it happen, even though it was just after 7 p.m.). Note to the chef - too much crust, but otherwise tasty! We then shared the brown cake w/marscapone (excellent). The hotel has no breakfast on weekends? Daily Eats was a short walk away, but it seemed odd that there were NO hotel options for breakfast. We were attending a Napa Wine Academy class (in the "theater"); nice location and a good class. The 2nd/last evening there, we heard a bit of raucous activity in the hallway about midnight (a few choice swear words), but things quieted down quickly. Check out was quick and painless. A few things to work out which preclude a fifth star, but I have faith they will figure them out.

Yelp
The staff is all nice. I only had two problems. Number one: The restaurant for breakfast doesn't open until 10 o'clock on Saturday. That seems ridiculous to me. A hotel should have 24/7 room service and certainly should have a breakfast room open by 7 AM. Every day of the week. Second, in our room, there were piles of someone else's hair in the drain in the shower. Gross. The bikes that are able to be borrowed we are a nice touch. I did enjoy that. And a glass of wine as you arrive is also nice. The pool was fine, but there were no towels and it took a while for them to get delivered. They also need to have some sort of a server down there to bring cocktails.

Yelp
We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday at The Edge Rooftop Bar. Drinks were excellent and the vibe was very chill. Although, the night took a turn when my husband's birthday gifts were swooped up without even a notice. According to the staff, manning the upstairs bar, "the gifts had been unattended for some time." And "Good Samaritan" happened to bring it to her attention. Instead of the staff member and the "Good Samaritan" asking our guest, who happened to be standing at the table, if the gifts belong to anyone. They were just swept away! A BIG THANK YOU to Raymond and Michael, the night managers of the Epicurean Hotel, for seeing about us after my husbands gifts were misplaced. Their attention to the matter was quick and reassuring! They helped make the rest of our night memorable. We can't thank you enough for taking care of us. We certainly appreciate it!!!

Yelp
My recent visit to the Epicurean Rooftop Bar was phenomenal The atmosphere was great and the service was impeccable. Jeff was very attentive and very accommodating to our needs. He's a great asset and very knowledgeable of the menu. Kudos to Jeff for providing the great first time, but not last time ultimate experience. Lorrie S Tampa Fl

Yelp
I purchased a ticket to attend a Motorworks Brewing beer pairing dinner event as part of Tampa Bay Beer Week 2023, and I decided to make it an overnight "affair" by booking a room at the Epicurean hotel. By the time I checked out, I was already wishing I had secured 2 nights instead of 1! The staff was amazing - Morgan in events and sales wait listed me for tickets to the beer dinner, and she came through the minute there was a cancellation. The front desk staff was warm and hospitable and attentive to every last detail of my stay. I would definitely come back and recommend to friends and family.
