Really cool venue to see live music. Nice bar area outside the concert hall, and tons of space (and another bar) inside. Sound was great too!

Great Latin dancing here! Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, Merengue, Cha Cha... They do it all! Come shake your tail feather while you make some wonderful new friends. See you on the dance floor! 🕺🏻💃🏻❤️

It was a joy to work with the team at Epiphany Center for the Arts. They made my client's launch party event an absolute success. John helped the process from booking to execution smooth and aided with day-of changes to help everything flow well. I would recommend this venue to any planner for their event!

A great venue with incredible ambiance and super welcoming hosts. A noble place to indulge your artistic passion and curiosity.

This venue is located in a former church. There was free music (reservations suggested) and various artists displaying their art in several rooms. I felt like it was a bit of a hit and a miss. Upside: Easy parking, not crowded, good for a quiet and relaxed atmosphere Downside: The venue was too big and difficult to navigate at times. It was difficult to figure out what was for guest use and what was not.

A unique art gallery - I came to participate in Knot United, a participatory exhibition emphasizing connectedness and community with those around you. A former church, this space displays a diverse range of art in a one-of-a-kind place that must be experienced to be understood

This is an amazing art-viewing venue that never disappoints. Up to 5 or 6 exhibitions on view at any given time, and a great ongoing custodial program of Chicago artists, mostly painting and sculpture. There is also a large music venue, and a cool bar. This is all contained in a rehabbed historic Chicago church. The owners have done a wonderful job, the space and appointments are beautiful, and the curatorial choices are engaging and nicely installed. A great addition to the Chicago artistic landscape.

I love what they have done with this gorgeous building. There's a little bit for everyone to enjoy: the bar area, spacious dance floor, intimate setting for solo performances, the art gallery, and, outdoor spaces. Everyone is friendly. I have always had a fantastic time in a safe environment. I have attended several events here, but most recently enjoyed: Jorge Luis Pacheco who played his piano in the most intimate setting on the upper floor; and, Mambo Revival with Edwin Carpio in a tribute to El Gran Combo on the 1st floor. This place is absolutely an incredible space. A surprise at each turn and at the other side of each door. They did a fantastic job at keeping the mystery and beauty of this old church as they transformed it into a multi-living-artistic space. Beautiful stained glass windows, woodwork, old pipe organ, and display of art work by local artists. Oh... and there are shows, music, and very expensive cocktails. Just STUPENDOUS!

Friends invited me to a jazz/blues session at Epiphany. I had not been there before. I found it a top rate place. Once one negotiates the expressway chaos, the location is great. It's fairly large, but it's kept an eye on intimacy. Acoustics? An old church structure (thoroughly rehabbed) with very solid sound. Speakers are properly set. The group, The Last Word Quintet, included a stellar pianist. Epiphany had a baby grand that greatly supported the other instrumentalists. Just plainly a gem.

The interior spaces are striking and unlike any other event venue of this type. I attended the opening reception to kick off the Chicago Humanities Festival's spring season of programming. I was able to experience both the lower level (aka Catacombs) and the main performance space (Epiphany Hall). I enjoyed looking at the art on display, primarily mixed media works, and mingling with other attendees in the Catacombs, before we all made our way to the main performance hall for the event (a panel lecture featuring discussion and musical selections). It is evident the care and attention to preservation that went into transforming this venue from a church dating from 1885 to a performing arts hub. Mechanicals and building systems needed to be brought up to code, while still preserving original details such as the terra cotta and jewel-toned stained-glass windows along the walls of the Epiphany Hall. More than a singular venue, it is a campus dedicated to music, visual, and performing arts. The venue was not the easiest to get to by public transportation and given the state of the Kennedy Expressway repairs, but I am overjoyed I had the opportunity to observe this memorable space and creative reuse of the land as a cultural hub.

Place is a money grab with horrible prices for what you get. It's a shame such a beautiful space is so poorly executed. Went to multiple events here in different capacities and they all seem to lack any sort of authenticity or soul. I don't know how to place my finger on it but it feels disingenuous.

Impressed with the facility. Never been to this space before but the event space was great, the food smelled good and the staff was super helpful.

From the outside, you'll never guess what awaits you inside, now that Ephiphany Church is Epiphany Center for the Arts! It's beautiful inside, rustic, a great place to see music performances, has a pristine one-room art gallery, and has a lounge bar at ground floor. Came back to Chicago to see In the Realm of the Senses multisensory music performance, with visuals, a "scent" for the night- and it was a fundraiser for Ukraine, and nicely done. How nice that the musician was Chinese American, the visual artist Russian American, and the piano player Ukrainian- truly a testament that the peoples can work together in harmony (pun) when world leaders cannot. Would 100% come here again for any reason!

My husband and I attended "Golden Hour" here which is held from 5-8 Wednesday-Saturday evenings through the summer. Tonight the Denise La Grassa Quartet was performing outside. We sat on the patio and shared chicken wings and a bottle of wine from the bar inside. Our bartender was very helpful and told us about all of the specials. There are art galleries inside and other events that they host. The patio was lovely and comfortable. I love this place! Can't wait to come back.

Went to for Golden hour and a show over the weekend. This place is beautiful, an old church changed into an event space. The stained glass windows are stunning. Golden hour was nice and low key. There was a DJ playing, you could walk around and look at the artwork. The food was the only thing that didn't quite hit the spot. The hummus came with some stale hard pita. Everything else was all fried food. I can't wait to go back for another show or even perhaps swing dancing!

GORGEOUS site for a gala!!! Oh my gosh!! I attended the Friends of the Children-Chicago annual gala last night and this space was perfect!!! Two floors, one for cocktails in a cool lower level and then we all moved upstairs to the stunning main hall! Acoustics were ideal. The stage made for awesome speeches and music presentation. Space was accommodating for bar, food, loads of tables. They even provided valet parking! Wow.

The space is nice but I got charged $7.44 for a cup of black coffee here, and it was the worst cup of coffee I have ever had in Chicago. Also, I had ordered a latte. Also, the coffee prices aren't posted anywhere, so what you get and what they charge for it will be a fun surprise at the end. I do think this space is for an income class that could care less about their coffee being $8, so my bad. Back to where my riff raff teacher friends and I can still exist on a normal income.

Came in for Golden Hour on Friday evening for my friend's DJ show. A very cool and versatile space. The church part (name?) is gorgeous. I could definitely see hosting a wedding reception there. My only complaint was the bartending. They didn't really know what they were doing and were slow. $11 for a single well drink and $22 well drink for a double? Umm... in what universe? With auto tip, I paid $26 for a double WELL drink! When I questioned it, the bartender goes "yeah" like it made sense to him. This wasn't like a busy concert venue. My friend is a beginner DJ and there were like 50 people in the place. I want my money back (cry emoji)!

Both the interior and exterior space is beautiful. I went on an evening when there was live music on the outdoor patio. The vibe was just right. Food was delicious too!

Took my best friend for her birthday to the Teddy Pendergrass Tribute concert..... it was over a week ago and I am STILL talking about it!!!! The venue is absolutely gorgeous!!!! We met so many nice people! Terry was great! Being a business owner myself, you can tell this is a family owned business. Making it even more special was when the owner told us he and his wife had their wedding there in the 90's!!I love the set up in the quant upstairs room with bistro tables!! Can not wait to bring my friends and clients to Golden Hour!

Nate and I went here for a live jazz concert and left with all the positive vibes and good feels. It was amazing the character that was restored via the new owners. They had a bar area downstairs that was spacious yet intimate, a small art gallery and a large room that help a candlelight series concert. Our event was upstairs complete with a private table and strict (but appreciated!) Covid measures for safety. Everything was well thought out, absolutely beautiful, and great music! I felt like I had a 500$ experience for a fraction of the cost. Love this place!

The space is absolutely gorgeous and feels like you're stepping into another world when you enter into one of the venues rooms. Friendly staff, great "Golden Hour" specials and a great range of performances to choose from. We love the affordability of coming here and enjoying a really special evening without breaking the bank

Really great place to see a show. Cool and so much history. Staff is great also. Cannot beat the prices to see great music. Go for the Golden Hour.

It's a church. I was drinking Jim Beam. I went to a rock show. I was in a church drinking Jim Beam and enjoying a rock show. If I had more thumbs I would give this place more than two. Yeah for progressive thinking religious types. Saw Les Savy Fav here. Show was awesome and fully met my expectations, including semi-nudity. Enough said. Empty Bottle is the booking agent here. Not the best acoustics, and yes it was a little chilly, but I would see another show here in a second.

From an architectural standpoint the exterior of the old red stone church is worth a second look. Very impressive exterior with fine stone masonry that today would be cost prohibitive. The interior has a feel of being inside an ancient church in Constantinople as it has a Byzantine feel to it's interior, even though it is an Episcopal church. I love old churches and timely architecture of all kinds, so from that point of view, this place is worth respecting and treasuring for many years to come. The pews are removed for concerts and special events which are held often inside. This is a rarity for most churches but, if it pays the bills and the congregation approves, go for it.

if real church was this much fun, i might actually go. the Empty Bottle is booking shows at this place. check it out. it's a blast. it's like a cooler version of Logan Square Auditorium.

I went to the Baltimore Round Robin tour here this weekend and was impressed. The venue is booked by the Empty Bottle, and they have some more good shows coming up. Epiphany also still holds normal church service. They serve alcohol and berverages are sold at 'resonable' prices. ($5 for a 312, $4 mixed drinks)

I saw Les Savy Fav here a while back, the interior of the church definitely set a interesting tone for the show. I'd go back to see a show here, but I think they can do without the multi-colored lighting effects.

Some friends have been telling me about this new concert venue and I decided to check it out late last saturday night to see what it was all about. There were a lot of people there already but it was a different crowd than I was used to. I was pretty blazed from River North bars earlier that night but was feeling good for some music. I took a seat in a pew and listened to this orchestral band to start. They were pretty good but they were singing a bunch of older slower tunes like the ones my grandma played on sundays. Then this cat gave a pretty cool spoken word piece about this guy named Jesse and his buddy Judas. It didn't rhyme or anything but he was using some cool words I'd never heard and getting really into to it. Then this singer came out for the final act and she could sing. I waived my cell phone in the air but everybody around me started looking at me. People were not very into the show. At this point I needed a drink and good timing since some of the people were passing around some wine and crackers. They didn't give me much but it was free so I couldn't complain. Then this basket was passed around for the admission but I didn't know how much to give. I asked the person next to me and they said ten percent. I had 9 dollars left on me so I threw in a dollar and took out a dime. Kind of a cool honor system for concerts but I guess everybody is watching so it makes sense. Overall it was a pretty kick ass show with a lot of cool diversions. It was a little too laid back for me since I like to get a little crazy but the other concert goers were friendly. The spoken word guy introduced himself to me after the show and asked where I usually attend and I told him about the Metro and the Empty Bottle and he hadn't heard of them and asked if they were episcopal and I said they were just rock mostly. I said I'd check out is myspace. It was really late when I left and had finally crash for the night. I would definitely come back for another late night show.
