Oh My Goodness, I had the Best Bagel, egg and mushroom sandwich ever. Sensational taste! Throw in their great coffees (love their mochad) and a Nanaimo bar (lovely dark chocolate) and you have the makings of a go to meal break during a bike ride. All served with lovely smiles.

Loved the coffee here! I got a hot coffee and an iced coffee and it was one of the best coffees I have ever tried! They also carry some desserts including Susy Q donuts. I just grabbed a chocolate chip cookie which was good. Not the best I have had but the coffee made up for it.

Great coffee and cozy environment for enjoying a drink and something light to eat. We really enjoyed the coffee so we bought coffee beans so that we can make our own once we were back at home. There are also coffee related products and food items. Prices are about the same as other local coffee shops in the area.

Ordered the breakfast burrito and a gingerbread latte. The latte was absolutely perfect and so delicious. The burrito was a bit plain for me and not warm enough to my taste, but they were kind enough to bring me some hot sauce when I asked. I will definitely be coming again to try more coffee flavors. ☕️ 🥰

Good coffee and food. The table near the back by the staff door beside the wall could use some cleaning or repainting, it was pretty dirty. White probably not the best colour choice. Besides that it was pretty good. Love the holiday decorations

Very nice location, have all the beans they sell, as well as some accessories. Got the aeropress filter paper today, with a quick breakfast. Super nice! I always love equator’s JOMO decaf beans, taste amazing, almost no difference on flavor whatsoever when compared with normal beans.

Lovely spot with delicious drinks and light food. Breakfast sammie, gluten-free banana oat bar, & iced latte all get two happy thumbs up! There are a few patio tables, bench seating, tall stools, and small tables available for a good variety of seating.

It pains me to write this because I’ve found Equator beans to be some of the best for home espresso - but the drinks here are absolutely terrible. Hours later I still have the taste of burnt or over-extracted coffee stuck in the back of my throat from an awful flat white. Among other drinks our group ordered, both a chai latte and piccolo were sipped a few times, deemed undrinkable, and tossed in the trash. The coffee beans themselves are very good, which means the problem must be either the machine or the hand pulling the shots. And Strada makes good espresso machines. Hmmm

I had an ice latte after my indigo shopping trip. Very strong coffee for me. Keep in mind I only drink as treat a few times a month. They have flavour should have tried a vanilla ice latte. Think I like my sugar and milk with a splash of coffee. Staff was really friendly and asked me lots of questions about the book I read. It's a really cute spot wish I was not in a rush after my book trip and could have sat down to read.

This location is quite pleasant for sitting and having a coffee and quite chat. Music is interesting and at an appropriate volume for convo. And, bonus, lots of conversation zones inside and out Coffee is relatively good. This location has cold brew nitro, however it's not an option with decaf. My Flat White was well made and well presented by a cheerful staff member. Kudos for the great customer service! Lots of coffee paraphanalia if you are looking for coffee making accessories.

I came here for the first time to have a coffee date with my old teacher. I don't usually drink coffee but this place was so adorable, the baristas were very friendly and they also have vegan options ! I had a date bar which was scrumptious and a mocha with oat milk and my teacher had a matcha ! Adorable atmosphere and lots of aboriginal arb around since it's attached to the NAC

Returned for an encore performance; no disappointments! I go out of my way when I come from the States to enjoy some hand-crafted java-love here. If you want quick-turnaround, get-in get-out coffee, that is what Starbucks is for. I prefer to wait for my handcrafted coffee and hand-made breakfast treats.

Cute spot with a nice atmosphere. I got the oat latte and it was pretty good! They also sell their coffee beans and a lot of coffee appliances and gadgets. They even sell their branded t shirts and cap! The cleanliness of the tables can be improved though

Always on point! Equator's coffee, I maintain, is the best in Canada. Smooth, rich, and with amazing depth of flavour. I can't pass by without getting a latte, and this time I bought two - because it's never enough (don't judge me!). The staff is welcoming and works hard to make the perfect treat every time! I'm not big on drip coffee but I bought a bag of beans to try, and maybe now I AM big on drip coffee. Soooo good! This is a must-try!!

Really cute spot, I'm excited to have finally stopped in! I was a bit overwhelmed by the extensive menu, so upon recommendation I tried the turmeric latte, and it was so good! I love turmeric everything so, that helps. They have lots of other options including affogatos and milkshakes. I like that they give you a number for your order so that you can find a seat and they bring it over. Really neat, it just feels like such a warm and friendly place. I'm happy that there's a small parking lot in the back, that really takes some pressure off, especially when a winter visit means that snow is making street parking scarce. Overall a great experience. I look forward to coming back and trying out more of their items!

Atmosphere is really nice, it's a cool place but the prices are very high (over $5 for a medium hot beverage). Service is pretty good, the staff is generally attentive.

A colleague had told me that this coffee shop made her all-time favourite coffee in Ottawa, so I had to try it myself, and it did not disappoint! The shop is on an off-road in Westboro, so it's fun to browse around before/after and take a walk. I got a latte and an espresso milkshake. The latte was very well made; no bitterness, slight sweetness, and rich taste. I was really impressed, and already want to come back! The espresso milkshake was a treat, but it wasn't too too thick, so (hopefully) not too fattening! The inside of the store is super cozy, spacious, and has lots of space; it was quite full the entire time I was there (a few hours). They don't have that much of a selection of baked goods, so more homemade treats would make the place even better! Definitely coming back for some well-made coffee drinks. Next time I'll try the plain coffee to see what it tastes like!

This is a really cute coffeeshop that's very spacious in the Westboro neighbourhood! With lots of tables and comfortable seating, free and fast wifi, this place is fantastic for meeting or if you want to get some work done! I got their Moroccan mint tea and vegan wrap. Both were great and you can always refill the tea pot with hot water to have multiple cups of tea.

This place opened up a few months ago (December 2014) but despite walking by it many times, I never went in until last week. There is no dearth of coffee shops in Westboro, but it's nice to have an independent alternative among the Starbucks, Second Cups, and Bridgeheads - of which there are 2 within a block of each other (!). Stepping into the café, it definitely has that indie coffee shop vibe. Their menu is written on a blackboard. Their calorie-free sweetener is stevia. There's a big communal table as well as smaller tables. They have coffee, tea, pastries and sandwiches. I had a chai tea ($2.75) and a turkey sandwich ($7.50). If you are staying, you can sit down and they will bring your order to your table. The tea is loose leaf tea which they serve to you in a little pot. The chai was delicious - very fragrant. The turkey sandwich was good albeit a little too greasy for my liking. Before they put it in the press/grill they either butter it or oil it and I felt they were a little too heavy-handed with that. Other than that, I liked my sandwich. It had spinach, cucumbers, cheese, turkey and a sweet sauce (maybe a sweet relish?). With the tea it was a nice light lunch. Their coffee is organic and fair-trade. They roast all their coffee at their store in Almonte. Equator Coffee is a nice addition to the neighbourhood.

I root for underdogs. And Equator Coffee is an underdog - there's Starbucks and Bridgehead both within walking distance (Second Cup closed, and Tim Hortons isn't in Westboro). The coffee here is excellent. Better than most chains, with a flavour profile that I rather like. I don;t get here very often, though; although it's close to my home, it's not on my regular route to work; I'll stop in once or twice a month at most. Still, a fine place to stop for a cup of something well above an average cup of joe.

I love Equator coffee. Maybe it is because it reminds me of what bridgehead was. Their coffee is not over roasted and is smooth. There are no bitter after tones in their medium blends. And you get a nice buzz and not an over tone of coffee after taste like with Starbucks and other coffee places. They serve a small selection of alcohol here as an added bonus for adults to indulge in some social time without having to go to a bar. Their baked snack selection is just right. I recommend this place

This is my favourite coffee shop in Westboro. It is nice to go somewhere with such a great atmosphere and a great selection of drinks, coffee and gluten free snacks. The prices reflect the quality that you get and I am pleased by the service everytime I go in. It's a great spot if you're looking for a nice, warm atmosphere for a date or even to go read a book. There are always lots of people in there but it never feels too crowded to relax. I love this spot and I would be sad if I had to return to getting coffee from other places! Keep it up!

I've been into Equator Coffee on Churchill approximately 15 to 20 times. It's not uncommon to wait for service while the staff finish a conversation amongst themselves, but the coffee is good. Here's an overview of my most recent experiences: A month ago I met someone there for a meeting and the music was so loud, it was difficult hear each other talk. Also, the internet didn't seem to be working on that particular day so we left. Last week I stopped in for a medium roast coffee and I was told it would be about 5 minutes to make a new batch, so I changed to a dark roast. I thought it was unusual to let me know they were all out after I had ordered and paid. This morning I picked up a medium coffee and the cup was only 3/4 full after I added milk. I thought that was a little odd, but I also ordered a brownie which was fresh. When I paid for my order by Interac I was prompted to leave a 15% tip, which I did, but frankly I've yet to experience anything that resembles good customer service. Overall I feel like the staff expect customers to feel thankful that they are allowed into the premises. It wouldn't hurt to smile or say thank-you to a customer every once in a while.

Nice place, very tiny and difficult to find parking, but atmosphere is good and coffee as well.

Great coffee let's say best in town yet , I love equator coffee specially the latte it is always same great taste , nice cozy coffee shop even on the go still great , friendly staff and environment friendly products highly recommend it , it is my regular !

Tucked away from the business. Cute and spacious inside. Service and drinks were alright. However, I really enjoy the one in Almonte much more for the drink quality.

I've been meaning to go here for nearly two years, so when my friend suggested to stop in I couldn't resist. First impression of the place was that it's quaint but spacious enough that you don't feel crowded in with the people next to you. straight away loved the ambience, lots of windows and nicely decorated. the menu was a decent size and had some interesting options- I just opted for an iced latte with oat milk and a vegan, gluten free chocolate chip cookie. my friend is celiac so it was awesome that they have so many options for her! the prices are pretty much what you'd expect from this type of cafe- honestly they are quite reasonable and cheaper than i expected. my drink was delicious and the coffee was flavourful and strong enough without leaving a bad taste in your mouth. overall I really enjoyed going and it was the perfect place to sit and catch up with my friend. i can't wait to come back!

I'm a huge fan of Equator Coffee. I have been previously been going to their location in Almonte where they roast their own coffee beans, but this was my first time at the location in Westboro which I like even better. The decor is modern with a cute marquee sign and was filled with trendy people working or taking a coffee break, and it had a very hip vibe. My flat white was delicious, and the late art was nicely done. I'll be returning without question!

Nice coffee shop. Preppy crowd. Just came in to get some coffee beans as a friend told me they're the best in town. Decided to get a latte. Omg it is good. It has a little burnt taste to it and the froth milk so creamy. I love coffee and this is a must. Staff was friendly, service was fast and it is very reasonable price. They have a small but yummy looking selection of sweets to go with your hot drink.

Really, really loved this place. Definitely one of my favorite coffee shops. The staff was super friendly and created such a positive atmosphere. The place itself is super cute with a few different areas all with a unique set up/feeling. The coffee, is some of the best I've had and I think their affogato is one of the best in Ottawa. Their prices are also pretty reasonable. Plus they have a gumball machine and what could be more fun than that?

Went out for a walk with the dog...dying to try this place for years. Was very very disappointed. The girl at the cash too busy chatting it up with another customer and the owner came to ask if we wanted something. Then only to be disappointed by the terrible expresso that was given. It was like black tar! Not even an inch of coffee in the cup! OMG. $3.20 for nothing??? Will never ever go back there again. Not to mention the barista was not very nice. Very unpleasant.

We went here for afternoon coffee and reading. The space is very open and bright with a large communal table near the cashier. The coffee was great and is clearly a key to this place's success. The environment was quite nice, though the organization of the tables seemed a tad odd as they are bunched together at the back with a large open space in front of them.

Love the vibe. Challenging to go anywhere anymore as my body reacts to everything. Not supposed to have dairy , soy or processed almond milk. I either have to learn to drink black coffee or stop going out for coffee. Amazing coffee.

Perfect place for authentic coffee fans. They also have some great vegan and gluten free eating options. I am sure you will love this place and visit it again!

I came here after reading all the good reviews. I ordered a large cappuccino. It was served cold. Maybe it was sitting on the counter before it was brought to me. It kinda ruined my experience. I thought about asking to reheat. Maybe I should have. It might have been good cup if not for the temperature. Don't think I will go again. As another reviewer mentioned the seats here are rather uncomfortable. And the place is not accessible to wheel chair users. Couldn't see any other entrance from where I was sitting.

Great coffee shop, nice to switch it up sometimes and come here instead of the big green monster (which is too close to home I guess). I like their coffee, a little more mellow and smooth that Starbucks. They also just started doing their own version of bulletproof coffee ( look it up ). You can usually get a space and its got a relaxed, chill vibe.

Nice place for a coffee, atmosphere is enjoyable and there is a lot of seating. In most cases they bring your coffee to your table after purchasing. It is worth noting they do not have "tap" so if you rely on purchasing using your phone, you're out of luck. Coffee menu is quite substantial and they also serve beer.

This coffee shop was really great! The staff working there is super friendly, they have some delicious baked goods and the coffee is awesome. They also have a nice tea selection. There was plenty of seating, and it's a pretty relaxed environment.

Cute little to medium sized cafe with lots of seating available. You can order and they will bring you the drinks to toe table so you are not stuck waiting at the counter. I had tea and iced tea here, both were what I expected. The setting here is uncomfortable for longer periods of time, possibly to deter people from sticking around too long? Not exactly sure! The atmosphere is beat, although it seems quite a lot of families come here and it can get quite loud with the children around. It may not be the best place to get some work done or study. I had a coffee meeting here and had a hard time hearing my contact due to the screaming children.

I was enticed to leave a review because this place really wow'd me. They roast their own coffee in Almonte, a little ways away from Ottawa, and because of that their coffee is amazing. Rich and bold flavours in every drink. What really impressed me was how good the food was. I got a steak and cheese panini and was taken back by how good it was. On top of all of this, the atmosphere is one that is open yet cozy, and friendly all at the same time.

You won't get a better Americano anywhere!!!! I mean it. The best!!! And coffee is roasted fresh in Almonte. Great place to hang out too.

Nice coffee shop with lots of seating and the drinks were delicious. One of my issues with this place were the amount of flies, it was really gross and annoying trying to enjoy a latte with flies landing on you. I could understand it if the door or windows were open but they weren't so I'm not sure what was going on there that day.

Decent atmosphere and a decent cup of coffee...baked goods aren't the highlite so grab a biscotti before you get there.

Had a Latte there. Was flavorful, but a wee bit on the weak side. Found the service to be slow, only one barista who was taking their sweet time while chatting with someone. I suppose would give it another try,

Equator is one of my new favourite places for coffee. The space is simply decorated, very bright and the coffee is one of the best in the city. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. I bought a Chemex coffee brewer, and they offered to show me how to use it properly, and gave me a demo with a sample cup, using one of their own coffee makers. Definitely check out this coffee shop if you are in Westboro. Much better than Starbucks, and definitely on par with Bridgehead.
