"Tucked behind College Avenue, Equinox is the stop to make in Old Town — weekly firkin tappings, two music stages, and beer distributed only as far as the keg trike will travel." - Josie Sexton

Google
Very friendly staff and great beer. This brewery had a nice vibe and we enjoyed hanging out here. I hear the pizza next door is too die for but we never made it back to try it out, yet.

Dustin Triplett

Google
The most personable staff, amazing beer and chill atmosphere! A welcoming spot for everyone . This is a must visit for foco. Try the postcard pizza for sure.

Jaz L

Google
Best beer in town, great vibe, wonderful bartenders. I’d recommend this place to anyone who enjoys sitting for a nice beer brewed by people who care.

David Payne

Google
A great, cool vibe brewery in old downtown. If you can only do one brewery in Fort Collins and don’t mind missing the theme park draw of the big ones, stop here. They brew true to style and focus on quality with their beer. The staff is also friendly and helpful for all who enter.

Heidi Walker

Google
If you’re looking for a welcoming and charming brewery, look no further than Equinox Brewing. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere that’s complemented by an exceptional team behind the bar. A special mention to Samuel, whose professionalism, knowledge, and friendly demeanor ensure a great experience every time. He’s always happy to offer recommendations and make sure you’re having a memorable visit. And while you’re there, be sure to check out Post Card Pizza when they’re serving food—you won’t be disappointed!

Google
Equinox brewing is such a fun place to grab a beer and visit with friends. Their staff is genuine and attentive to everyone’s needs. Really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I’m excited to go back in warmer weather to enjoy the outside patio.

Jace Caelum

Google
The atmosphere is nice and the beer isn’t bad, but one of their bartenders was treating me poorly just because they knew one of my friends and didn’t get along with them. Completely unprofessional and immature. Judging by the response the owner has posted to another review, I can see where the unprofessional behavior is allowed, as instead of taking things seriously, it seems their ego is inflated and are doubling down, defending against genuine concerns of poor customer service. I will not be back and will warn others about the attitude of the staff and owners.

Sam Kohn

Google
The Anniversary IPA (left) and Space Ghost (right) were okay. The outside patio is cozy though.

Yelp
A great brewery in downtown Fort Collins. The brewery is dog friendly inside and out which is a huge plus for us. We met the owner and him and my husband hit it off and had a great conversation. We enjoyed the Just Married IPA which was made in part by Kyle, the bartender, for his wedding. A great spot that we could have stayed at all afternoon!

Amanda D.

Yelp
Popped in here really close to closing but we wanted to check it out and try some beers and get some stickers. We all got one and my husband drinks fast so he got two haha The place is cool. Great artwork and craftsmanship went into this place. Dog friendly. They had a beer that has my maiden name in it. Very cool. I didn't try it cuz I'm a fruity or sour beer girl. If any at all lol but it was still cool. I loved that they had the smaller half pint glasses. Great option for people like me!!

Yelp
In a town like Fort Collins where there are 20 breweries all within a 20 mile radius, it's hard to pick where to start. Being that this brewery wasn't far from our rental house, we decided to kick off our #FoCoBrewTour weekend at Equinox, which did not disappoint. It really is the perfect spot for anyone seeking the following: 1) Easy to spot & Ample Parking Located on the corner of Remington and E Mountain Ave, the brewery is easily marked and provides excellent FREE street, lot, alley and back parking - which is a blessing in any downtown setting! 2) Indoor & Outdoor Seating A variety of seating options ranging from the bar top, spacious interior and outdoor patio - perfect for groups of all sizes! 3) Cute & Quaint Interior/Exterior With exposed brick, Edison bulbs, an extensive oak bar and dim(ish) lighting, the space is definitely cozy, cute and provides a sense of calmness throughout the storm that is downtown Fort Collins. 4) Coffeehouse Vibes This is not your typical brewery and gives off major vibes of a relaxing atmosphere. Featuring NO televisions, its' easy to see this is a place to converse with friends while sipping on killer brews. 5) Stellar Service We opted to order our flights at the bar and the bartender was beyond friendly, made conversation and provided us with recommendations on which brews were his favorite. He ensured we liked our choices, quickly cashed us out and made us feel right at home. 6) Delicious brews! Wanting to try it ALL, we opted for 2 flights to share. The first featured all their IPA style beers, while the other flight offered their more traditional brews like the Sunrise Golden Ale and Irish Red. Being an IPA lover myself, I found myself gravitating towards the Hazy IPA as it was perfectly hoppy and refreshing. Others in our group loved the Space Ghost IPA, as it featured grapefruit notes. We all left with the perfect introduction to their killer brews, and opted to take home some Crowlers for later! When in Fort Collins again, I'd easily make another stop in!

Yelp
This place is getting a 5 star solely based on their spice beer!!! I have been getting pumpkin beers from breweries for the last 2 months and have been completely disappointed by them. I asked the bar tender here for one and she suggested I try the spice beer. OH MY GOSH IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! I don't think I've ever tried a beer like that before. Also their back patio is absolute perfection!!!! I love the different colors and it's adorable. Hands down one of the best beers I've ever had!!

Jeremy B.

Yelp
I did not have any food but the service at the counter/bar was great! I loved the chilled/relaxed ambiance. I recommend the lunar trippel if you are like me and appreciate a light, malty but light on the hops trippel! An excellent/perfect beer!!!

Claire M.

Yelp
Cool space! Love that they have a patio for seating outside, along with a coffee-shop-like vibe inside. I wasn't in love with the beer I ordered, but overall this was a great stop for some air conditioning and a drink while strolling through Fort Collins!

S F.

Yelp
Space Ghost is great, but the staff is sooo hit or miss. Sometimes welcoming, sometimes not- just sooooo many other options in FoCo, I would never recommend this place. We were here on a slow Saturday night and we were maybe one of four tables- no last call at all and they had two bartenders- seemed almost rude. I mean we were waiting for ever for the pizza there and had an active tab, then we tried for another beer and it was legit 10 min past 9 and they wouldn't serve us, but we saw them serving the slow pizza guy‍...just always something with this place it seems. Not bad, but just really not good....

David S.

Yelp
Cool looking bar. Several draft selections. Patio outside. I don't hear any music outside at 5:00 pm

Cindy C.

Yelp
Meh. There are much better breweries in the area. The hazy IPA was terrible. I actually dumped in and we left to go somewhere else. Also it seemed super odd that on Friday afternoon (prime time happy hour) it was dead.

Rachael R.

Yelp
Equinox is soaring to the top of my list of best breweries in Fort Collins. I love their beer, their outdoor patio spaces, and their really friendly staff. I've also felt extremely safe going here throughout the entirety of the pandemic. First I'll fill you in on their beer. I'm pretty loyal to their Cosmic Kolsch, which is light yet flavorful, with subtle fruity notes on the finish. Their menu is diverse so there's something on there for everyone--whether you like IPAs, Porters, Sours, Hefeweizen, etc. they have something for you to try. Their patio spaces are definitely a high point as well. They have two outdoor patios--one in the back (the "beer garden") and one south-facing. It's been competitive to get a table on the south-facing patio when the sun is shining, but I really enjoy the seclusion and intimacy of the beer garden anyway. When the weather is cooler, they have efficient heaters so you can still enjoy the outdoors. Both patios are a great place to catch up with friends. As I said before, I feel really safe dining-in (drinking-in?) here. The flow patterns into and out of the brewery are clearly marked with arrows on the floor. There is a plastic barrier between you and the staff when you're ordering. And the staff is really diligent about wiping down tables, chairs, etc. between groups. They use a handy table-stand that indicates if a table is clean or if it still needs to be sanitized. I really appreciate all the measures they've taken to keep our community safe and healthy. Their beers aren't available in stores, so make sure you're going on-site for a beer, or get a growler fill to go. Let's keep this place going!

Mo C.

Yelp
Cute, comfortable brewery with fantastic hoppy beers. I love IPAs and these guys have some lovely, floral, hoppy beers. This is a cozy taproom with lots of small high-top tables. They are doing a great job making everyone feel safe during the quarantine. Many tables are closed, but you have plenty of space to socially distance while drinking some quality, craft beers.

Trevor A.

Yelp
Taylor was amazing! She was super attentive and always giving great recommendations for drinks! The best bartender out there!

Ken L.

Yelp
Good beer selection and a pleasant atmosphere plus an outdoor beer garden/ patio. Prices are on the lower end or comparable to other breweries.

Lisa W.

Yelp
Friendly service and good music which isn't too loud. This is walking distance from the hotel zone. It's also clean with a great selection of beers for every palate. You can build your own flight of any size. You can get beer and/or crowders to go. On Monday, buy two crowders and get one free!

Taylor M.

Yelp
This is my favorite brewery in Fort Collins! I know the head brewer, but that's not even why. The beer here is really special and made well. The environment is relaxed and quaint. Live music is always a bonus! The outdoor patio is very cute! Grab a Jonas Porter and enjoy some shuffle board with a friend!

Deya Z.

Yelp
Impressive little pit stop on our way to the Mish! It's located in Old Town which was super convenient as we could food and drinks while still having plenty of time to get to our destination! Hubs had the NEIPA (he can't resist those), which was definitely one of the better ones we've tried. I'm not a huge IPA fan outside of NEs so I tried the ale. Wasn't bad but definitely not as good as hubs' beer. Tips: order at the bar, samples are 2 oz unless you ask for a splash (to try without committing), chips and salsa are store brand but still tasty.

Brandon B.

Yelp
Good beer! Nice patio. Was a little bummed about no flights but totally understand due to COVID situation. Friend staff & very chill on a Thursday afternoon.

Lindsey P.

Yelp
We don't often get the chance to go out in Fort Collins so when we arrived downtown, early for our dinner reservation with some time to kill, we knew we needed to check out a new-to-us brewery. We spotted Equinox first, a familiar name (maybe we've had it before - guest tap at a restaurant maybe?). 6pm on a Saturday with plenty of seating at the bar and tables in every corner. Comfortable environment, warm wood tones and interesting art on the walls. They had probably 15 different beers to try - I sampled a dunkel and imperial hefeweisen, landing on the latter for my pint of choice. My husband is an IPA lover and they had several to choose from, ultimately selecting Space Ghost which I think he liked. I would have loved to stay longer and sample some more, but alas we had a reservation to make. Cheers, Equinox. Thanks for a great first visit.

Jim D.

Yelp
Meh Boring beer, food barely existent. How does a beer garden have 5 or 6 patrons on a Saturday night of Graduation week in a College town? The answer is summed up in this mediocre experience of the city's most boring brewery, who claim last call at 8:40 PM on a Saturday. Bravo

Heidi K.

Yelp
Equinox was a fun place to stop at in between a jaunt through Old Town. The service was great, but there weren't many people when we stopped in on a weekday, mid-afternoon so I wouldn't expect anything less, really. We tried a couple of beers including the Truffle Shuffle Chocolate Porter (hubs' pick) and Space Ghost IPA (my pick). Both were easy drinking and did the job. We had a few other stops planned so we didn't even sample anything else. We sat at the bar but the interior also has a nice mix of table and a bit of booth seating. I agree with another reviewer who said it has a coffee house feel to it. The beertender was nice but a bit distant. The beer selection was a nice variety; a little something for everyone. There isn't really much that stands out about Equinox, but I enjoyed my visit and would likely stop by again.

Tawnee H.

Yelp
You walk in, order at the bar, and seat yourself. There is no table service. They have samplers and we got the regular one and the specialty. The regular comes with 6 samples for $8 while the specialty comes with 5 samples for $8. This place brews some delicious, strong beer. My husband and I thought we could share both flights. Boy were we wrong. Our hearts were broken as we left half the beer at the table because we were just too full. The beers here were a little too heavy and strong for my liking, but still very enjoyable. Next time I would skip the sampler and just order a glass of whatever looked the best. This place was pretty packed and there were a few kids running around. They had tables and a bar. Plus they had a shuffleboard. Pretty neat place that Id happily check out again.

Amelia J.

Yelp
My favorite brewery in town. Great atmosphere and amazing beer and staff. Highly recommend.

Stacey F.

Yelp
Meh. Not particularly impressed. Nothing that blew mind our made me drool with beer longing. But also nothing so terrible that o wouldn't finish it. :) if you're in the area and have already hit Odell, New Belgium, and Funkwerks, swing by and give it a taste. But it doesn't make my Top 10.

Nicole W.

Yelp
It's a brewery in Fort Collins. It's a nice large place, lots of different seating areas depending on your mood. It's off the main drag, but close enough to be fun and across the street from a nice parking garage. Staff is friendly, but not very forth coming with info on the beer, but maybe they just assume everyone has been there before? It was a nice place to enjoy a pint and i'd go back to try some other ones that might tickle my fancy a bit more. Lots of hoppy stuff, so that will make most of colorado happy!

Chris H.

Yelp
One of the great things about Fort Collins is all the beer close by, and having Equinox open up just makes it even better. Equinox was opened by the owners of Hops and Berries. What better people to open up a small brewery than those that run a home brew store. The pub area is small and more like a lounge than a bar. There are a few areas to sit by the bar where music is playing, but if you want a little quieter spot then the room next to that has plenty of seating. The also have an back patio to enjoy the weather and some live music. The beer is outstanding for a start up brewery. From their delicious ales, really Happy IPAs to deep and rich porters, there's definitely a brew to please everyone. We all ordered the flight and nursed them for some time over conversation. The people behind the bar a friendly and helpful. They have a stack of old board games to choose from too. They also have occasional beer dinners. Equinox will definitely be a stop next time I am in town.

Joyce J.

Yelp
Really reasonably priced sampler that showcases the brewery. The staff are friendly. You just order and take your tray somewhere. The standard tray has six beers and on the table there is a menu of with the description of the standard tray. My favorite from the standard tray is definitely the Eclipse Brown Ale. There is a rich toffee like aroma and the flavor is clear, as described on the menu. It's a very friendly and warm beer. If the weather is nice, definitely take your tray to the beer garden. Sitting outside with six little glasses and having a conversation with a friend on a warm day makes you forget all the worries. Apparently some people come here to journal as well. Do be sure to eat something before you come here since if you are a light weight, the tray can be impair you.

Jo K.

Yelp
Visiting Fort Collins for the first time, this was the place that everyone told us we MUST go to. My partner & I took the advice of our friends and came to Equinox Brewing at about 3PM on a Saturday. First walking in, I was definitely surprised by the chill, laid back atmosphere. A long bar, small tables, shuffleboard, kids everywhere-- not what I was expecting from a brewery. This is all self service, so you must go up to the bar to place your order, no one will come take the order for you. I usually prefer this method even if table service is offered, so we sat down at the bar and ordered the standard tray to split between us. 6 beer samples for $10. We liked 4/6 of the beers, the two dark beers were too dark for our taste, very heavy and stout. Generally the entire vibe of the brewery was a very charming neighborhood place. I'm glad we came here to try the craft beer, see a neat local brewery.

Thomas C.

Yelp
Was closing soon so just did a quick stop and had a 10oz pour of the Space Ghost IPA. Nice space with a beer garden and a shuffleboard table.

Victoria T.

Yelp
The atmosphere was okay, but the beer selection was lacking. I enjoy stouts and porters the most, so I ordered a flight of dark beers as I usually do. However, there wasn't a whole lot of flavor variation between the beers like there should've been, with the most prominent note being an acrid, over-roasted hoppy flavor that dominated them all. I will probably give this location another try in the future since I enjoyed the lively atmosphere.

J Z.

Yelp
Stopped in 15 minutes before closing to have a quick pint and buy some crowlers. Everybody was super friendly, (the bartenders and other drinkers) the beer was great and served with a smile. Had the Pub Ale, tasty !!

Marshall H.

Yelp
Great place with great beer. A must when visiting Fort Collins. The staff was amazing and there was a social cheers with a free sample of beer. Great location and cool atmosphere.

Keith B.

Yelp
Pretty damn good beer. I popped in after the New West Fest Bohemian Nights (well, during) with my brother to sample their selection. Of course-it was fucking crowded, it was a festival day! But they served me unbelievably fast, for ordering two trays of samples! It was my first time there, and even my brother was surprised by their speed. Not all of the brews were top notch, but several are pretty damn tasty. Just order the flights. You might find yourself surprised!

Sonya B.

Yelp
Among Fort Collin's fine selection of craft breweries, Equinox Brewing is undoubtedly one of the best. We rolled into town for a craft crawl and whenever we asked the locals for their favorites, Equinox was always on their list. I'm not sure if it was the excellent dark beer options, the crew behind the bar, the crowd this place attracts, the bar-like taproom, or the combination but it was easy to understand why Equinox is heralded. The Jonas Porter and Truffle Shuffle (a nitro chocolate porter) were my favorites. Both are rich, distinctive, delicious and balanced. I also applaud Equinox for creating superior craft beers that are not too high in alcohol.

Joseph I.

Yelp
Great place. I love the laid back and relaxing atmosphere. The interior is a little dark and slightly industrial, which gives it an awesome feel. They have some board games and tables, which makes it great if you have any kids or just want to have some fun with some beers. They have a large selection of beers written on a chalkboard. They serve flights and also have suggested flight offerings. I only had a couple while I was there, but I didn't have anything I disliked. I had an IPA and a stout, and both were well crafted. No servers, you order your beer from the bartender. Tabs can be run. I wasn't there long enough to give it a better review, but I was there long enough to know I'll be going back! I enjoyed it very much

Larry S.

Yelp
A stop along a tour of breweries..... Pros : - Nice welcoming interior in downtown. - Large beer selection. Cons : - Lack of service. - Felt that I was not welcomed. - Large beer selection. - Didn't even finish the samples. Was excited to try Equinox as they had some beers I usually like. They are located in a neat building downtown. The interior is welcoming. I was there on a Thursday just after 12. Not many people inside. There was a group that were locals and seemed to be friends of the server. I was greeted fairly quickly. The server pointed to the extensive list on the wall and said that is what they have on tap. I asked if any of the 18 or so were guest taps and she said that they brew all of them. I don't ever think I have seen that many from one brewery. I picked four that I wanted to try. When she came back, she pointed to some documentation on the bar and if I had any questions, I could look at that, and walked back to the group of guys she was talking with when I arrived. She came back once to ask if I was doing ok. When I asked a question about the beer, she said, "I don't know" and walked back to the group she had been talking to....WOW. Now for the beer.... I was excited to try the Fluffhead Milk Stout. It was drinkable, but probably my least favorite Milk Stout I have had. The Lawnboy Cream Ale was ok, but I'd be better off drinking some mass produced beer in a can. The two others I tried I couldn't finish. Maybe something is wrong with their lines, but the beer just didn't seem right. I know people have different tastes in beer, but I was just disappointed. Maybe if they narrowed down the amount of beers they brewed..... I don't think I will be back as the service was some of the worst I have experienced.

Alexis R.

Yelp
Great beer in a great environment! I loved the laid-back atmosphere complete with board games and a great back patio area to relax with a microbrew. Equinox offers some unique beers including amazing stouts and Belgium-style brews. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was pretty busy - we got the place seat on the patio. You can choose from two different sampler trays, though I wish you could create your own from their dozen of brews. Anyways, we went with the premium tray which included a solid amber, a saison, a double IPA, a porter and a pale ale. We both thought all the beers were really good, and they offer the recipes at the adjoining brew shop so you can try to recreate the beers at home. They do offer some simple snacks for purchase at the bar as well. Overall, it's a really fun place to spend an afternoon with tasty beers.

Anthony J.

Yelp
Two things keep me coming back to Equinox: 1) I live in Ft. Collins and 2) I'm an avid homebrewer. The beauty is that right next door is a wonderful homebrew supply store that I almost always go to (virtually every week), so that gives me the opportunity to see what's new on the tap room chalk board. Truth be told, I go to Equinox even if I'm in Old Town and looking for something to do. So, I go there a lot. I always enjoy their service and the energy of the crew here. I haven't had one bad experience and their prices are reasonable. As for the beer, this is the only reason they don't get a 5 star rating. They ARE good; however, not great. They brew many different styles very well and I never complain. There have been a few examples that were spectacular and deserve a GABF medal, but is more of an exception and not the rule. The ambiance and taproom setting is exactly what a brewery should be (IMHO). There's beautiful artwork on the walls, engaging beer related books and things to read, and no major distractions between you, the beer and your company to enjoy it all with. As a HUGE plus (when it's not too cold), they have a cool beer garden that is the perfect place to enjoy a tasty brew with friends. They may not serve food, but honestly - you're Old Town - there are countless excellent foodie-grade places to get your chow on. Equinox should be one of your top 3 breweries to visit in Ft. Collins. Cheers!

Jesse M.

Yelp
This is one of the most intimate breweries I have had the pleasure of visiting. It's in such a small space, you wonder where they make the beer. It looks like just another storefront, but if you venture out back, there's a nice outdoor biergarten. The entire brewing operation is in the little garage to the left. They have their mainstay beers, but the menu is always changing. On top of that, they always have a firkin du jour that's filled with something creative. Small batches must allow for a lot of quality control, because their beer always turns out pretty darn good. They serve many different styles, but there seems to be a quality that each one has that makes it taste distinctively Equinox. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it tastes like the grains are happy, which consequently makes me happy too.

Nathan H.

Yelp
Equinox is one of those little places on a side street that can be easy to walk right by if you don't know what they are all about. Please don't walk by! As a Fort Collins local, this is where I go when I want to get away from the big brewery crowd and get an incredible selection of beers in a great location. The venue is awesome, kid friendly, dog friendly on the back patio and usually has some high quality live music. If you are in town visiting definitely put Equinox on your list of breweries to hit. If you are from the area and want another place to add to your rep of quality brew stops, you will not be disappointed!

Michael S.

Yelp
This place is very comfortable and the staff are friendly. Nice place to relax and have a drink and chat with friends.

David K.

Yelp
Didn't realize this place has been open for 6 years. Went on a Saturday afternoon. Not too busy. The patio was packed. Very friendly staff to describe the beer. Very delicious beer. Would recommend.

Jesse S.

Yelp
Beer was served flat. The taste reminds me of a brewery that just opened and is trying to figure out how to brew. I left my beers on the table(I know a sin) but I wasn't able to stomach the beer. Not coming back

Kara H.

Yelp
Lots of darker and hoppier beers. Not my style but they were good. The truffle shuffle was sweet for a dark beer and super drinkable.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
I love Ft Collins breweries! This is a smaller brewery near the downtown area. I love the smaller breweries because for me it's a more intimate experience, less people, smaller crowd. They have a great selection of beer here and friendly staff to help you find something you will like.

Adam D.

Yelp
All too often in Fort Collins, you have to get away from the downtown area for the quality breweries; Equinox Brewing is one of the very few exceptions to that rule. With plenty of cozy indoor seating and a pretty good-sized outdoor back patio, Equinox can house a good amount of beer-drinkers and they offer a good number of finger foods to keep you going. This is a great location to stop through on your way to or from dinner, or even to spend an entire evening.

Shin M.

Yelp
They don't allow dogs on their outside patio... I've never been told that before. That is pretty disappointing since every other brewery was welcoming of dogs and some even let us bring our 4 lb pup inside the bar!

Jeanie H.

Yelp
Locally brewed beers in multiple varieties with various sizes available. Quite fun to taste several at one time.

Darcy B.

Yelp
Equinox Brewing is truly a charming experience. I have been there several times with my husband to enjoy a flight of their beer. It's honestly, one of the most relaxing places I've ever been. The patio area is nice and secluded and especially beautiful when the cherry blossoms start to fall. I also like how they provide a detailed description of each of the beers on little flip charts on each table. The staff is very informative as well. This is a great place for a beer enthusiast or somebody new to the wonderful world of microbrew who is just trying to figure out what they like. If you're looking for a quiet spot to just chill with good beer, this is it.

Steve B.

Yelp
Really liked the atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. Staff was very knowledgeable about their beer selection and also gave recommendations for other local breweries.
