MICHELIN Guide: The Best Hotels in Athens

"Ergon House is first and foremost a multi-pronged food market, featuring a butcher, a fishmonger, a baker, a grocer, and a restaurant, all under the same Ergon Foods banner that’s been exporting upmarket Greek flavors all across Europe for a decade. It just so happens that above this “modern-day Agora” is a 38-room boutique hotel — and the hotel, it turns out, is no afterthought, but a fully realized holistic hospitality experience, one that takes service and comfort as seriously as it takes its cuisine." - The MICHELIN Guide

This review is about the restaurant where we enjoyed brunch twice. I think the food tastes great, and they offer a wide selection of brunch options without it feeling overwhelming. On our first visit, I had a pancake that resembled a very dense pound cake and was far too sweet for our taste. On our second visit, we tried some delicious bread topped with eggs—two different varieties, as you can see in the photo. Wow, they were absolutely amazing! The staff seemed very busy, and it took quite some effort to get their attention, but once we did, they were friendly and welcoming.

We stayed at the XL room. The boutique hotel is on top of a restaurant/food market, but the hotel area is pretty separated and private. As many other reviews pointed out, the a-la-carte breakfast included was fantastic. The room was well and uniquely designed, clean, and well-maintained by housekeeping. The bed was pretty comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is very central. You can walk to anywhere easily. ||The slight issue I had was that the design is more on the aesthetic side and a bit less practical. For example, the sink is small and narrow and has no place to put any personal items. There is a TV on top of sofa bed with metal frame at bottom. The person slept there kept bumping their head on it. These are small things, but I think the designer should try to make the room easy to use in addition to looking good.||Overall it is a very nice hotel.

Ergon House is a wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of Athens. The rooms were the perfect size for a city break with comfortable beds and strong aircon. The staff were very nice snd helpful. The main restaurant was amazing! I had breakfast each morning and lunch there one day. The service in the restaurant, while very friendly, was a bit slow at times. The rooftop top bar each night was great! It has amazing views of the Acropolis and the pizza was wonderful. The manager always found me a table. I highly recommend this hotel for a short city break in Athens!

This review is about the restaurant/cafe. Let me start by saying that last year our visit here was very good and the service was nice, food was delicious. (We had the green shakshuka, which was very tasty, but unfortunately it's not on the menu anymore) This year was very different. We sat at a table and then we waited around 10 minutes to be brought the menu and the waitress said she will bring water. Fine till now, no big problem. However, 15 minutes pass by, other tables who came after us already have water and orders taken. For us nothing, no water, no waiters, nothing. So we decided to leave. Nobody noticed by the way. The funny thing is, the place was not even full. But as we left we also saw 2-3 tables still not cleaned, after the guests had already left. I know we could have said something in the moment, but first of all it's the staff's job to look out and secondly no waiters seemed to be there. Can happen, but it shouldn't happen at such a nice place.

Review solely about the restaurant. One of my favorite places in Athens to go for a great breakfast! It’s situated very close to the Syntagma Square and is well worth a visit (or two). Service is usually quick and the dishes are always tasty.

Ergon House Athens is a design hotel and a well known food brand in Greece. They even have own shop at Athens airport!||But the hotel - well managed, clean, great location in Athens with short distance from main sights and the best part of this hotel is the food since downstairs is deli where you have your breakfast if its included to the hotel and highly recommend it! ||One of the best hotel breakfast experiences ever had! ||I would love the visit them again and ofcourse try their other hotels as well.

This is a review of the grocery store on the street level. One of the best gourmet groceries in the center of Athens. Excellent cuts of beef, chicken, lamb. Great selection of olive oils, wines, cheeses. Not inexpensive, but reliably good quality food.

Having visited the restaurant I can comfortably say that it offers a great experience. The atmosphere and vibe of the place is extraordinary. I love that every aspect of the brand is interconnected so seamlessly with each other in the building (shop, hotel, restaurant, bar). The food is great as well. Definitely recommend.
