Highlights

Fabulous low-country food & super friendly staff! They have authentic fresh seafood and barbecue and they are a family owned business. The daughter is from the seafood family of Russo, and you can tell she grew up on great seafood.

This was hands down some of the best food we have had. The atmosphere was great and the staff was so kind. Enjoyed every second. The flounder was exceptional and the red fish was unbelievable (must try). The nachos were huge and delicious. We will be back for sure. Thanks again!

Google
Wow- Amazing spot and fabulous food. Prepared with flavor and freshness! Not greasy, fresh and wonderful! Red fish dish is spot on in flavor and presentation. Pecan bar was fantastic- big enough to share! Great job guys.

Google
I was in Savannah for a day to take my aunt to dinner for her birthday and not being familiar with dining in Savannah I went to Yelp and found Erica Davis Lowcountry. The recommendations of others was spot on. The food was outstanding, the service (shout out to Jamal for great service and recommendations, and the young lady that greeted you was exceptional as well) outstanding, and the restaurant was housed in an old service station that was so well remodeled. EDL had a store at the entrance of the restaurant with some really unique items. The meal; crab soup that was loaded with crab, blackened red fish perfectly cooked, and for dessert a pecan bar with vanilla ice cream that was as good as any southern dessert I've had.

We loved the vibe of the resteraunt. The outside sitting is very clean, and a nice addition is the bean bag toss outside. We got the Brunswick soup, and the pulled pork with Mac n and cheese, and red rice. The soup was very good, a beautiful sweet tomato flavor, and came with crunchy crackers. The pulled pork was delightful, but sadly came out cold. The BBQ sauce was a lovely touch. The Mac and cheese seemed to miss the cheese flavor. And the rice was a solid red rice. Lastly, the banana pudding was delicious as it will always be.

Google
We have been to Erica Davis Lowcountry several times. The food experience is great. Everything is always Tasty. We love the Oysters Rockefeller because they are so unique with collards instead of spinach. Crab cakes are delicious. Fish is always fresh and delicious, especially the Crab Stuffed Flounder and the Wassaw Redfish. Great staff and service.

Portions were good for the amount of money. Kid friendly not so much stroller unless sitting outside. Service was really nice and friendly. They don't take call ahead so first come first serve. They didn't have the chicken, they must have ran out but that would have been ordered if it was available

Google
It’s a nice spot if you realllly want seafood and bbq. It might not be for everyone as it’s on the more plain/bland/unseasoned side, but there’s condiments and seasoning on the table. Service was good with friendly staff. Not bad but not great. If you’re looking for a spot to blow your socks off, this may not be the place. I believe in off days so I’ll check again soon.

The restaurant is away from downtown Savannah and has its own parking lot. Nice atmosphere. Food was good. Must try their fried green tomatoes and smoked Brussels sprouts! I didn’t care for the ribs, but the brisket was delicious. Shrimp and grits were good.

Yelp
Everything I have ordered there has been delicious. I wish that the owner would do something about noise. Often the hard walls make it is difficult to enjoy conversations with my friends. Weather does not always permit eating outdoors. If the noise issue is resolved, I will give it 5 stars.

Yelp
Visiting Savannah for a few days. Some very good dining experiences. Erica Davis for lunch stands out. Re-purposed gas station. Food is fantastic and most reasonably priced to date. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch. Place was packed on a Friday afternoon. We elected for an inside table. Did notice the outdoor tables were pet friendly. We ordered the fried shrimp plate and the crab cakes. Both come with two sides. We got our food quickly. My fried shrimp was good along with the molasses Brussels and collards. My wife enjoyed her crab cakes with fried okra and slaw. My shrimp came with really good homemade tartar sauce and her dish had a good homemade romoulade sauce. Waitress was nice and provided great service.

Yelp
As we neared Savannah I started looking for a place to grab a seafood lunch. Erica Davis popped out at me and I'm so glad we chose to come here. There is some parking in front of the restaurant and there is more in an additional parking lot. The restaurant is not very large and I'm so glad we came in when we did because it was packed by the time we left. We were quickly greeted and seated. Our server came right over and was friendly and knowledgeable. My husband and I both had the seafood platter with shrimp and flounder. You could also add oysters for an additional charge. I chose the brussel sprouts and grits as my sides. You could also get the cheese baked with cheese. My husband got the green beans. The food came out quickly and was piping hot. And oh so delicious. There were two flounder filets and eight shrimp. They were very lightly breaded and fried. I loved the taste of the tarter sauce they served. The brussel sprouts were amazing. The molasses gave them a sweet flavor. The grits were the lightest and airiest ones I've ever had. I'm used to grits being dense. These were light and puffy. So good. The green beans were crunchy. The portion sizes on the sides were very large. We both commented on how much food there was. I would definitely come back. Great food. Great service. Memorable meal. I loved the look and feel of the place. Lots of natural light. All tables. The decor was fresh.

Yelp
Was visiting Bonaventure Cemetery where my mother is buried and saw this cute spot right off the road nearby. It was a mildly cool and cloudy day but they had outdoor tables and my Shih tzu in a stroller was very welcome. Three of us had poor boys, 2 shrimp and one oyster. They were delicious and the bread was toasty and the seafood tasty. It was a little too much bread for me however but that is entirely on me. I should have gone with straight oyster or shrimp platter. I'm still mad at myself about it. I did ask for the fried okra to be served hot as I had read they had an issue with that and I live for fried okra when visiting the area. They came scorching hot and crunchy. I did have to take a star because my friend's crab stew was cold and our server didn't return until the end so she just ate it cold. She did like it however. I did look at other diner's plates because I'm nosy like that and everything looked really good. Next time I will definitely try the redfish. It was lunchtime however and I didn't want to be stuffed on my long ride back to Florida where okra and a decent fried oyster is nowhere to be found. At least in my neck of the woods. Yes, I would return and sit inside and share lots of dishes with my friends.

Yelp
My GF and I found this place thanks to Yelp and stopped in for lunch. We're so glad we did! We ordered the 3 meat combo with two sides And split the tab. We enjoyed a great selection of barbecue ribs, brisket, Pulled pork along with macaroni and cheese and coleslaw. It was. More than enough food for the two of us and it was reasonably priced. We wholeheartedly recommend stopping here.

Yelp
Our second visit here as we are out of state. Just wish the oldest grandson was as good as the food was lol. So we had the puppy with us this trip and sat outside. We had a nice fan keeping a party of 6 cool. So Everyone's good was good and no complaints not even my son who's a trained CIA Chef out of New York. We all had something different and with the exception of a testy grandson Avery pleasurable experience. Pets welcome outside and doggie bowls provided Yes I would return

Yelp
This is definitely one of the top 10 places in Savannah to eat seafood! Everything is amazing and the restaurant is clean and very beautiful, outside is very nice as well ! If you have never had fresh Oysters off the Savannah coast, you are in for a treat!! They are amazing!!!! Don't miss this gem! Great wait staff as well

Yelp
Great find outside of Savannah in Thunderbolt. Plenty of local seafood options on the menu along with BBQ. I went with the crab stuffed flounder and my partner had the red fish over grits. Food came out fast and the fish was delicious. I wasn't a fan of the mac and cheese though. I would choose grits instead. Service was great and the outdoor seating was pretty good. However, I wish the tables were set back a little further from the parking lot. If you want lowcountry food in a chill environment without dealing with paid parking in downtown Savannah, this is it!
google avatar

Yelp
Ambience was cool. Fun. Felt homey. Service was good and the folks working there were super accommodating. The food was just okay. I had high hopes for this place after thoroughly searching online. Didn't love the oysters. They were huge and a bit on the chewy side. I'm sure they were fresh but not my cup of tea. The chic was just okay The soups were a solid 4 stars because they were good except I had a shell in my soup but still good.

Yelp
Dining experience in 2022 so memorable, we came back again. Amazing and unusual food, great service and a cool renovated car garage or filling station. Crab dip and redfish are 10 out of 10 recommend.

Yelp
Oh how I love this place! It will always be apart of my memories! We dined here after eloping in Forsyth Park and I could not have chosen a better place to bring our friends a family. The restaurant is beautiful, and really perfect for a reception. The food was delish!!! We ordered a lot of food and everything was perfect, the redfish was the best and my sister could not get over the brisket on the nachos. The service was the absolute best, our server looked exactly like the rapper "Common" and he was very informative and attentive. We met Erica!!!! She was wonderful, very friendly and kind! She acknowledge me in my wedding dress, and came out to bring us complementary champagne. If you are ever in Savannah, please go and check this place out, tell them Karo sent you!

Yelp
Everything but the fried oysters was spot on. The oysters were 80% batter, 20% oysters. Service was slow but we got there just after a few larger groups came in.

Yelp
Fantastic place for a nice dinner outside of major tourist areas. We enjoyed sitting outside, they kept the fans on. The service was good and the food was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The iced tea was also very good.

Yelp
Went to this restaurant with my wife and a good friend and had to wait about an hour before getting seated then another hour and change before we got our food served. The food served was not warm and was very much underwhelmed with the restaurant & experience. I heard such positive things from friends and hope this was just a bad night.

Yelp
We decided to try this place out with some friends of ours since it had such good reviews. I was so torn by my feelings about this restaurant. Some things were so perfect and others fell flat. First off, the look of the place is amazing. It's very cool looking and stylish. There is a large outside patio so it would probably be a great place to bring your dogs (I'm not sure about this because I haven't actually brought our pups)) They don't take reservations so we just meet up at 6 pm on a Friday. It was about a 15 minute wait to be seated. Once we got seated, the service was very very slow. Our dinner took about two hours because of all the delays. The menu is mainly seafood and a few meat entrees. Not a great place for vegetarians. They did offer some vegetables that are meat free. The prices are very reasonable. They even offer PBR and Miller lite for $3.50. Amazing! You could come hang out On the patio and have a few drinks and not break the bank. We ordered the crab dip as an appetizer. It was pretty good. I enjoyed the fried wontons it is served with. I ordered the fried flounder and it was five stars. I ordered Mac and cheese and smoked Brussels as my sides. The Mac and cheese was okay. The Brussels were inedible. The smoke flavoring was so strong you couldn't even taste the Brussels sprouts. We didn't try desserts, but they have a lot of southern favorites to choose from. Maybe they were having an off night, I'll go back and try them out again.

Yelp
Take out order. Soon as open container at home knew it was not going to be good. Brisket was way overcooked. Corn was shriveled. Bread was store bought quality. Very disappointed. But this is what going out to dinner has become just about everywhere for the last 2 years. Expensive and poor quality. Bad combo.

Yelp
Took my brother here for his birthday. Music playlist was excellent. Nice quite and cool atmosphere, the building is pretty unique garage style. Food was good, but not incredible. It was aight. Service was average. Bit too pricey, can't recommend the beans tho.

Julie H.

Yelp
Great service! The atmosphere was pleasant . The flounder was pretty good. It was fresh, lightly breaded, but more like fingers than fillets. The oysters seemed to be cut into smaller pieces and heavily breaded. I would not recommend them. The cole slaw was delicious! The collard greens were bitter, tasteless, and definitely not southern.
google avatar

Nicole H.

Yelp
This restaurant came very highly recommended on many Savannah Facebook pages. It was a little pricey for lunch (60+ without booze and just 1 dessert) but the food was good. The server was very pleasant. It was a nice change of pace from all of the downtown restaurants.

Yelp
This was almost a 5 star review, but they charged a fee to pay with a credit card. I came here for dinner with 3 friends on a Wednesday night. They were moderately busy, I saw only 2 servers on the floor and they were both doing a great job. The menu is mostly seafood with a few BBQ options. I was impressed by the number of side options they offer! My fiancé and I ordered the crab dip, bbq shrimp and Mac n cheese, and the crab stuffed flounder. Everything was excellent! The crab dip had way too many onions for my liking, but the chips it came with were great. The check came to $58 before the credit card service fee. Some of the menu pricing did not match up on the check, but the check prices were lower than the menu.

Yelp
My family of 5 visiting the area and this restaurant for the first time, we arrived just before 5pm on a Friday evening, thankfully before the crowd. Seated immediately, greeted by a charming staff member, drinks arrived quickly, order taken promptly, food delivered hot and delicious. We had shrimp and grits, brisket, and the smoked chicken. Everyone left pleased with taste, quantity, and price. A personal favorite was the listing of the shrimp being local, you never know these days so I was thankful to see that on the menu.
google avatar

Jaime W.

Yelp
Loved the food. It was amazing!! Service was excellent. Definitely recommend to everyone to try out this local restaurant

Yelp
I had been really wanting to stop in and see how good the food was. I was extremely disappointed and that's putting it mildly while the service was good the food could've been prepared a toddler. The shrimp were hard and you needed a microscope to see them. I usually try my best not to leave bad reviews because everyone has a bad night but this was my birthday dinner and I was expecting better based upon some of the other reviews.

Karen S.

Yelp
The Food was amazing and along with the attentive staff it is a enjoyable, pleasant place to dine.

Fred O.

Yelp
Food was very good. We had the red fish , bbq shrimp, fried grouper and fried oysters. . The oysters were a little small but tasty. Very nice owner and staff. Great selection of beers. Large outdoor dining area.
google avatar

Sam F.

Yelp
Food and service here were lovely. This is the perfect place to take your family! Super casual and cozy.

Yelp
This place was better than expected. We sat outside since it was a nice day in the mid 70s. You MUST try the crab dip with wonton chips. I could've just made a meal on that alone, but I was forced to share with the other 2 in my group. lol Being from Texas, we had to check out the BBQ. I got a combo plate of ribs and brisket with 2 sides which consisted of fried okra and mac & cheese. First, it's way more than one person can or should eat and secondly, I probably should've asked how much was on the plate before I ordered. Oh well. I wasn't a huge fan of the ribs because they had a vinegary taste, but they were tender and sauce was good. Brisket had a fatty area right down the middle. Taste was great but would eat around that fatty part.

Yelp
I was on a search for a different dining option and found this restaurant on Yelp. Since the reviews were pretty good I decided to give it a try. It was a nice day and the outdoor seating was full so decided to dine in. The restaurant is very clean and the hostess and server welcomed us with a smile. Overall I enjoyed the portions and the freshness of the food. I had the Shrimp platter with 2 sides (red rice and collard greens). The shrimp were plentiful (which I love) , collards were descent , red rice was good just need a little more seasoning . There's salt, pepper , hot sauce and pickled peppers on each table if you need to spice things up. The condiment bottles were clean and had no left over residue from prior patrons (so no worry there). The only dish I didn't like was the crab dip which lacked crab and was full of chopped onions (a definite no no for crab dip). If I had known there were onions in it I probably wouldn't have ordered. Nonetheless, the dish lacked crab and flavor and even after adding their version of Ole Bay didn't help. I'd recommend recommend mimicking the Maryland version of crab dish to make this one a hit. Would I revisit? Sure, just wouldn't purchase the crab dip. :)
google avatar

Chelsea A.

Yelp
Used to be my favorite seafood spot. Something has changed. Shrimp are smaller, greasier. Collard greens lack ANY flavor. Crab stew was inedible...tasted like butter, water, and crab. I hope whatever they're doing changes back to where it was when they started cause the prices don't add up to the quality anymore.
google avatar

Yelp
FANTASTIC! I can't say enough good things about the food, the staff, and the vibe of this place. It's no wonder they've been open for over 20 years. They are truly a gem in the Savannah area. The hosts were super welcoming. Our waitress was so sweet, gave great recommendations, and was very attentive. Restaurant is housed in a former auto body garage that has been renovated to be light, airy, and sleekly modern. It makes for a unique and beautiful dining experience. The whole place smells like great BBQ and immediately makes your mouth water and whets your appetite. I got the Wassaw Redfish and it was heavenly! The fish was perfectly cooked with an amazing blackening seasoning that held up to the creamy, cheesy grits and the sweet, creamy sauce on top. The green beans provided a nice fresh, crunch. My husband had the Crab-Crusted Flounder which was equally divine. They do not skimp on the crab and the fish was again perfectly cooked. The burre blanc sauce was deliciously rich and one of the best we have ever had. His sides of Fried Okra and Roasted Brussels were amazing as well! We finished with Carrot Cake for dessert which was moist and the perfect blend of sweet and savory. The cream cheese frosting was as light and airy as a buttercream frosting but had the richness of flavor needed for the cake. We couldn't have been happier!

Yelp
This had to have been the BEST low country meal we had, the entire week we were in Savannah. Such a cute little hidden gem. It's located just a bit away from the tourist traps and so worth venturing out to. My husband got the Red Fish special and he loved it so much, I had to pry the fork from him to get a few bites hahah. I got the fried oysters and fried shrimp plate with two sides. The oysters were perfectly breaded and not overly fried. We had a lot of fried oysters on our week long trip and Erica Davis's was still the absolute best! We liked it so much, we tried to go back the following day but they are closed on Sundays. Let my pictures do the talking!
google avatar

Diana H.

Yelp
The food wasn't great. I expected a lot more. We did take away but the service in that regard was honestly awful. Our order got messed up and took forever. Looked cute inside and that's why I always wanted to stop by and check it out. Menu looks promising as well but it wasn't what I expected in food quality.
google avatar

Victoria D.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch while on our way to Wormsloe historic site. Cute place (loved that they had cornhole outside) and the food was delicious. I got the shrimp po'boy and a sweet tea, and my companions got the nachos and the mac & cheese. I just wish I had tried the banana pudding...
google avatar

JaieLyn M.

Yelp
I didn't right a review when we were on vacation in April & went there, but here it is 4 or 5 months later...I'm still thinking about those fried green tomatoes & shrimp & grits!! Both were delicious! The grits were so creamy & flavorful. The fried green tomatoes were definitely not your basic fried green tomatoes! My husband has seafood allergies, he was very happy with bbq options. I don't remember what all he ordered, but what I tasted was great & he was very satisfied.
google avatar

Darlene P.

Yelp
I've had dinner here 3 times. I've had good service and great food each time. Once I was lucky enough to get an outside seating. I often taken friends from out of town to have a great seafood dinner.
google avatar

Sharon P.

Yelp
Hate to say it but the food was just.... OK. Went there for an early dinner last week. My partner had A BBQ combo plate and I had a shrimp and fish platter. The BBQ was good. The Brisket was tasty and tender. The sauce that came with the BBQ was delicious. If we go there again, I would not order the seafood. Both the fish and the shrimp were bland and not very flavorful. The collard greens were good but the food wasn't hot. Not like it was a lot of people at the establishment. The food came out right away. Our waitress was very nice and checked on us several times. The place was clean and tables well spaced out. They also had outdoor seating available. Just didn't live up to what we were expecting since most of the ratings were 4's.
google avatar

Yelp
Always a great meal with good service. Today I tried a few different items. The Oysters Rockefeller with collard greens was delicious. The flavor profile of the greens with the cream cheese mixture was delightful. The oysters were fresh and quite tasty. My daughter did not like that they added a piece of bacon on top of each piece, but it was so tiny she picked it off. The Redfish was scrumptious as always. Seasoned to perfection and the stone ground grits were just like my grandmas. Creamy and good. The Crab Stuffed Flounder with fried okra and mac and cheese was the best. It wasn't lump crab meat, but it was good. It was more like a deviled crab mixture. Oh, I can't forget we ordered the Brussels sprouts. I love their sprouts that are smoked and have a touch of maple syrup in every bite. I would give them 5 stars but the food it too expensive for lunch. We ordered 1 appetizer, 2 entrees and 1 side and the bill was almost $100 with a tip.
google avatar

Yelp
Visited this local restaurant, recommended by a good friend. Did some research before we went. Most of reviews recommended the Wassaw Redfish. Well both my buddy and I ended up ordering the Redfish, and it was fantastic! We went back a couple of days later. My buddy ordered the Redfish again and I tried the Fried Shrimp. The Shrimp was also great. Staffs were very friendly. Mostly local people eating there. You may get there early for dinner as wait can be a bit long. But it will be well worth to wait.
google avatar

Dylan K.

Yelp
What a wonderful place! The setup of the restaurant was lovely and the service was incredible. Most of the food was extremely good, but I did think some of the fried food like the flounder lacked flavor so 4/5 from me
google avatar

Anthony L.

Yelp
If god is good to me I will have the opportunity to visit this place one more time. It was so good I recommended it for dinner the next night for a work party and ate there twice.

Yelp
The food was absolutely stellar, great sit down casual place to take a small or larger group. The service was great, wish the interior had more is all.
google avatar

Tyler M.

Yelp
Wow! So impressed. I have to believe everything is as fresh as can be. The fried oysters were cooked to perfection! My main plate was the redfish, with shrimp, tomatoes, and a great sauce with grits and green beans. By far one of the best seafood places in town!

Fred L.

Yelp
Food was outstanding. Service was courteous and professional ambience is ok but adequate . I recommend the brisket, but everything that I've had there has been excellent and I highly recommended.

Yelp
The establishment isn't quite what we were expecting given the reference we got. It is an old converted service station and like many places in Savannah, parking is limited, but probably more abundant than most given the parking lot side to seating ability. So keeping that in mind, if the lot is full, you are probably looking at a wait. They've done a good job on the conversion of the building and while the menu isn't extensive, what is offered is all high quality. One thing to keep in mind while in this area, like many up and down the east coast, but very strongly in Savannah, if it says crab they mean blue crab. So crab cakes here, which my wife ordered, may not be to your liking if blue crab isn't your favorite. I will say, for blue crab, I thought they were well done, but they were not to my wife's liking. I had the stuffed flounder and while I enjoyed it, I didn't find it as phenomenal as my business partner who recommended the location. The shrimp my daughter ordered however were, at least to me, outstanding. So I think your experience here can depend on your tastes, that said, if you pick wisely, or ask for help, you are more than likely to have a good experience. The drink menu is a bit limited, especially for beer and wine, but they do have some local items. Overall, it was really good, and the service was good, it just feel a touch short, maybe due to the high reputation it already has.

Yelp
While in Savannah, I ordered takeout from this beautiful spot and am still thinking about the food. Started out with the crab dip which is so fresh (I mean SO fresh) and creamy. It's the best crab dip I've ever had. Hands down. For my lunch, I ordered the fried shrimp with macaroni cheese. Everything was amazing but that tartar sauce was something special! It's made in house and incredible. I cleaned out the sauce dish! Will definitely be back and highly recommend this spot.
