Err Urban Rustic Thai

Err Urban Rustic Thai was such a fun dinner for me, and I left genuinely happy. The dish I could not stop thinking about was the fried chicken skin. It is not just random crispy bits. It comes as crisp sheets made from real pieces, then layered together so it almost feels like you are biting into the best part of a whole chicken. It is perfectly crunchy with just the right seasoning. I loved it so much I ordered two. Another little surprise was the old style pickled green mango. It tasted like something you would grow up eating at home. Properly sour green mango, soaked in fish sauce, served with chili powder. Simple, bold, nostalgic, and addictive. The fruit salad was also excellent and refreshing, and the menu overall has a lot of variety. You can find comforting Thai classics, and there are Isan options too, which makes it easy to order a full table of different flavors. Great food, great energy, and definitely a place I would come back to.

Really great and creative food and drink menu options. Extensive selections for both, just wish they were larger portions and some were not available, but everything we had was fresh with a lot of flavor. Its nice being set back from the street so they do a great job of creating a homey atmosphere.

Best Thai food we have eaten in Bangkok. We went there after dinner rush hour to avoid crowds and it paid off. Beautifully decorated restaurant and the manager Paz really took us on a food trip with her recommendations. Everything we ate was delicious, I’d definitely come back. Special shoutout to Paz who is a lovely person, guided us through any questions we had. If you are in Bangkok for a couple days and want to experience Thai dishes in one-go this is the place.

Excellent place for authentic Thai food done the right way. My favorites were the green chicken curry, which the chef made the curry paste from scratch using the traditional pestle and mortar (instead of a blender), and the fermented pork knuckles. The food is much faster at their “new” location. Happy with that. But the price is quite high relative to the size of the portions.

Additional after the owner of the establishment replied my review. What's the position of the restaurant you owned? It was not top 50 Asian speakeasy bar right? I have been to those on the list that was published before Covid-19. I only missed a few of them. So, since this is the restaurant not a speakeasy bar. Wouldn't it should be easy to find? I have lots of Thai nationality friends there,I believed I had try many authentic Thai restaurants in Bangkok in past decades. I maybe new here. But I had plenty of reviews on TA and even been top quality reviews contributor for a couple of years there. I paid for the food and beverage, I wrote the reviews base on my experiences. There's plenty of organic or free range of chicken Thai restaurants in Bangkok. Thank you for your replied. My foreign friend happened to stayed in one of the hotel nearby. I don't know restaurant in this area well enough. Normally, my expertise are speakeasy bars in Thonglor. A lot of the Thai dishes ingredients looks really odd. The portion is super tiny compared to others thai restaurants on Sukhumvit early alley. The taste of the foods wasn't up to par with the price. The meal ended very quickly and the chairs wasn't very comfortable to sit on for chat and enjoy the drinks after. My friend complained about cocktail that doesn't look like the picture on the menu.. She wasn't happy with the quality of the cocktail either. Oh well.. There's no sign in front of the tiny alley... He private hire driver loops around a few times to find this place.

Although we had a little difficulty finding the restaurant, we could not have enjoyed our meal more. Special shout out to the delicious fried chicken skin, the spicy watermelon seeds (who knew!) and a wonderfully spicy green curry. The cocktail list is made with local spirits - the flower market was a delicious light and floral concoction that seemed to sparkle!

I’ve been to Err Urban Rustic Thai a few times now, was very impressed from my first visit.. and somehow each visit is better than the last. What a fascinating place! The atmosphere is incredibly charming and cozy, it feels like walking into a stylish friend’s living room. Cool artwork, beautiful details, relaxed energy, and a team that makes you feel welcome the moment you arrive. The food is outstanding. Unique, thoughtful, and deeply satisfying every single time. I keep dreaming about the Yum Po La Mai, the most delicious fruit carpaccio salad, it's fresh, surprising, and perfectly balanced. The sausage trio platter is packed with flavor, and honestly, their Pad Krapao might be the best I’ve ever had, anywhere. Cocktails, small plates, mains, everything I’ve tried has been consistently excellent. A very special thank you to Paz, the manager, whose passion truly elevates the whole experience. Her energy is contagious, her knowledge of the food is impressive, and she has that rare gift of making guests feel genuinely cared for. She’s a big reason we always want to come back. ERR is one of those places that gets under your skin in the best way. Can’t wait for my next visit.

Thai cooking done thoughtfully. Quality ingredients, proper fermentation and preservation work, and flavours that draw on tradition while bringing something fresh. We focused on grilled snacks and a heartier dish or two, and everything was great, with a few really smart, creative touches that pushed it beyond the expected. The one-star reviews complain about prices and portions, which tells you they've fundamentally misunderstood what Err is. I get it, we all know where to get cheap pad thai! 😆This is not that. This is cooking with creativity. Some cool fermentation approaches and quality sourcing in a relaxed, unpretentious setting. I really loved all the cookbooks on the shelves. It was very quiet for a weekday evening, but we had great drinks, top-class service, and a Thonglor vibe that was polished without trying too hard. Absolutely 💯 worth trying out. I'm planning my next visit already.
