If you are looking for a place that delivers breathtaking views without necessarily requiring a strenuous hike, Snowdonia in the summer is absolutely worth the trip.
We visited on a summer day, experiencing 3 of the 4 seasons weatherwise. First off the scenery was nothing short of spectacular. The mountains provide a stunning backdrop that feels almost otherworldly, even from the ground level.
Since we weren't planning on hiking up Snowdon itself, we looked for other ways to enjoy the area. We ended up taking the train ride that goes around the lake (Llanberis Lake Railway), which was a lovely experience. It’s a fantastic way to soak in the views of the lake and the peaks.
As for the town (Llanberis), it is quite small. There isn't a huge amount to do if, but there is certainly enough to occupy you for a few hours. It’s a peaceful spot to kill some time.
