Esbelli Evi | Best places to stay in Urgup

"Many of Cappadocia’s more recent hotels may have outspent the region’s original boutique hotel, but few have quite caught its exceptional feel and character. This discreet, delightful collection of ten stone houses – each with its own entrance and private garden or terrace – is set in walled grounds. The impeccable interiors exude an uncluttered period style. It’s self-catering, with each house fully equipped with a kitchen area. The property is in a convenient Urgup location, an easy ten-minute stroll from the centre of town, with its wide range of restaurants, cafes and other facilities. " - Jeremy Seal

We had an incredible stay. The cave home was just as pictured- beautiful, clean, and exactly what we were looking for. The showers felt luxurious with two shower heads, the bed was very comfortable, and even the washing machine had instructions in English, which we really appreciated. The owner, Hikmet was fantastic. He gave us a full tour when we arrived and shared maps that made it easy to get around and recommended local restaurants. His communication before our trip was clear, proactive, and reassuring, which really helped us feel more comfortable traveling to Turkey for the first time. The location was also perfect. It was a short walk to the city, and the terrace was such a peaceful spot to relax in the evenings. We highly recommend this place and would absolutely stay here again! Thanks for an amazing trip.

We had an incredible stay at Esbelli Evi - our 2 bedroom cave house was extremely spacious, quiet, beautifully appointed with lovely attention to detail. One of the best and most memorable places I have stayed - would highly recommend and hope to return.

Recently we stayed at Esbelli Evi Cave House / hotel in Urgup .||Our suite of rooms were very well appointed and the bathroom was modern and spacious. It truly was a luxurious one-of-a-kind lodging. Our cave house even had a kitchen and living room.||The setting is beautiful. Sitting above Urgup, it is a very peaceful environment with courtyards and connecting stairwells throughout the facility. The owner / proprietor Suha Ersoz gave us an interesting tour through this centuries old site .||Speaking of Suha, one could not ask for a more gracious and interesting host. We were told by another hotel owner that when Suha opened Esbelli Evi it was the first boutique hotel in Cappadocia! Throughout the day Suha was available to sit down with guests and go over maps of the area, day trip suggestions, restaurant recommendations, arrange transportation and the like. His love of the area and thorough knowledge of Cappadocia was readily apparent. ||In sum, Esbelli Evi is a wonderful and unique place to stay in Cappadocia. Suha's cave houses are way beyond the traditional hotel experience.

We had a fantastic stay in Esbelli Evi. The owner was incredibly proactive in explaining the surroundings to us. The cave house is great, we felt as if we were staying in a castle!! It was an unbelievable experience to explore the cave house's surroundings and it really is like a labyrinth. If you stay here it is a guaranteed entertainment by itself.

We stayed for three nights having traveled by car from Antalya. The house we rented which came with breakfast is lovely and has everything you need. The house is well equipped even with a dishwasher. There was also an area you could use to wash clothes. The cave house was lovely and cosy with the heating being very efficient. Breakfast was self service with the additional choice of cooked eggs. The omelettes were delicious. We especially enjoyed the quietness of the complex and would come back if visiting the area. Location is out of the main town but is walkable but a steep walk back up the hill. We had a car so parked down in town but would be easy to get a taxi back up. If you enjoy peace and quiet this is the place for you. Our host was brilliant on supplying us some great attraction information and had some great days out. Cappadocia is an amazing area and one not to be missed. Ürgüp was a great town with lots of choice of restaurants.

Very nice cave hotel with lots of space and excellent rooms. Ours was a large room with a very large bathroom and our companions had the suite with kitchen, living room and same large bedroom and bathroom. Our host Alara was extremely helpful and friendly.

My husband and I visited Cappadocia in fall 2021. After researching the cave hotels of Cappadocia extensively prior to our visit, we decided to stay at Esbeli Evi. We could not have made a better decision. ||||We cannot use anything but superlatives to describe our experience at Esbelli Evi. Everything, from our cave house to the breakfast, the service and of course the owner, Suha’s guidance -- was just perfect. ||||Well, I can go on and on describing how fabulous our rooms were, how delicious the breakfasts were, how gorgeous the view of the Cappadocia landscape was from the breakfast area, etc etc..... We will leave that to other reviewers. What I would like to comment on is the warmth of our host and the exceptional welcome that we received. As all seasoned world travelers know, it is only through the genuine warmth of people that we can create an emotional attachment to a place, and so it was with Suha, Esbelli Evi and Cappadocia. ||||Thank you, Suha, for making our stay so memorable. Esbelli is a slice of heaven and we are very fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience its beauty and spirituality. We hope to return someday.

Exceptional property and service. The owner Mr Suha is the most wonderful gentleman who went out of his way to make sure we had a good stay. Breakfast is amazing. Rooms are exceptional with all modern amenities. Rare find, highly recommended. Small things like international adapters in the rooms, living room with books, free use of washing machines, complementary snacks and unlimited mineral water bottles demonstrates the thoughtfulness of the owner. Beautiful view of the city as well.

Yelp
Fabulous hotel and service. Rooms are large, comfortable, very cool and well appointed. Es bello was the first cave hotel and they do everything right here. Free wifi throughout, washing machines if you need them, delicious breakfast and warm staff. You can't ask for a better situation or location in Cappadocia.
