I visited Escape Spa on January 2nd for a 6pm appointment, eagerly anticipating a deep tissue massage to ease the stress from my frequent workouts. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of my expectations.
Upon arrival, I reiterated my preference for a deep tissue massage, both over the phone and to my massage therapist, John. John, who wore a glove due to a burned hand, assured me he would attempt to apply the necessary pressure. Despite these assurances, the massage I received was more of a gentle, relaxing type with minimal pressure. This was disappointing, especially considering my specific request and anticipation for a deep tissue massage.
I appreciate the need for care and caution due to the therapist's injury, but I was disheartened that the spa assigned a therapist unable to meet the demands of a deep tissue massage to my appointment. I reported my concerns to the front desk, where a polite young lady informed me that the manager had left for the day but promised a follow-up call. This call never came, prompting me to reach out again on Saturday. The manager, Heather, offered a $10 to $25 discount for my next visit, which felt insufficient given the situation.
On a positive note, the soak part of my visit was enjoyable. However, overall, the experience was underwhelming, particularly since I was looking forward to starting the new year with a rejuvenating spa experience. I hope Escape Spa takes this feedback to improve their service alignment and customer communication in the future.
