"Esin is a long-running Danville restaurant for a reason — it serves solid, classic American and Mediterranean food that hasn’t wavered. Try the phyllo-wrapped chicken breast, which is filled with a mix of feta, Grana Padano, and goat cheese, or the lamb moussaka with roasted eggplant. The wine list features a mix of both local and European options, while the cocktail menu offers takes on classics." - Dianne de Guzman

Waited almost a decade to dine here, putting off and putting off, also they are always relatively busy, we think it's a hidden Danville//Alamo treat. Esin she designs the pastry cake items herself they are NOT purchased from Sysco. The dishes are well thought out and played out presentation. Higher end than Pleasanton fine dining, gives Peasant and The Pear 's chef Rodney a run for his many rest in the area. The food was perfect portioned just right and the taste was not too overly seasoned, nice selection of a wine vault too. Some outside patio dining here too, as we went for Easter Brunch. Mimosa flowed, but had to try others dishes in our adult party of three. What a couple serving long pre covid survivors. My bistecca steak was a 8.5 on a never given ten on a 10 scale. Really great.Packed but no service loss here. Going back for another dessert and cafe' This place for being hidden east off the 680 unlike two landmarked Tge Livery steakhouses and other fine dining, I feel this gets a no surprise traveler recommendation of a 9.5 star

Google
Esin never disappoints! Everything is fantastic, from the service to the atmosphere to the entire menu! I highly, highly recommend it! Their appetizers, cocktails, main courses, and desserts (!) are all so good! When I think about going out to eat, I always want to choose Esin!

Google
It was an amazing experience at Esin. Nice ambience paired with awesome food! Dietary restrictions were taken care of in a very good way! Rony here was super awesome and took real good care of us, taking care, asking questions and satisfying above and beyond! I had the chef’s special COD, and banana white chocolate pie! Loved them!

Google
THIS place!! Wow- the food and service were top notch. Let me begin by - I am a picky person- a big foodie. I also travel for work almost weekly and this place will hold a special memory for me. The scallops were incredible- not overly doused in a sauce or butter - but so flavorful. The wine was perfect, the dessert is a MUST. The waiter was attentive and fast… I was so impressed. After a long day of work travel, this was a treat- thank you!

Very lovely atmosphere, top-notch service, & exquisite food. Lovely enough for a celebration meal, casual enough for a business lunch. Every dish is crafted to perfection & is balanced and plated beautifully. Perfect portion sizes, meticulously prepared cocktail menu, & stunning desserts in terms of both taste and presentation. Service is out of this world -- plates disappear without interrupting your dining experience & you never really have to ask for things because the staff anticipates what you need before you can ask for it. Aces all around!

What a wonderful Saturday lunch we had. We had the grilled flat bread with fresh peaches!! FANTASTIC!! Petroleum Sole in a lemon wine sauce with Garlic mashed potatoes!! Fish was wonderful. My guest had pasta in a tomato sauce with prawns. Also we had the best server attentive but did not hover. Make it a priority to go to Esin.

Google
Esin has delivered what is set out to be. Having a meal at Esin is truly a culinary experience. From the ambience to the professional service, every aspect was a perfection. As soon as you walk into the restaurant, the aroma of delicious food will wake up all your senses. The restaurant was packed on a Wednesday evening. I highly recommend that you make a reservation before your visit. Our dinner was amazing. For appetizers, we ordered Salmon Tartare and Crispy Pork Belly. Salmon Tartare was served with thinly sliced and deep fried taro chips, both were delicious. Crispy Park Belly was heavenly. The meat was tender but not fattening. I ordered Today’s Fresh Fish, it was Black Grouper. The chef has crafted it to the perfection. The fish was severed over a bed of couscous, spinach and mushrooms, drizzled with a light sauce that I cannot put my finger on. The fish will melt in your mouth. Make sure you save room for dessert. I was curious where the restaurant name came from and learned from their website. There is a lovely story about Esin and Curtis deCarion on the restaurant website.

Stopped by for dinner and the place was packed on a Monday night. Delicious food, entree and dinner both a hit. Hefeweizen from Germany to boot!

Yelp
The food at Esin was on point & absolutely delicious : )' There were six of us for a birthday celebration for two beautiful & wonderful ladies . Our server was Kelly & she was very professional & patient & very attentive. I had ordered the Hanger steak frites Brandt prime beef , cook to perfection but I had to make sure I saved some for my husband b/c he just had surgery a week ago. Well! He was one happy man & thought the steak was perfect as well . The rest of the ladies enjoyed their meals & the desserts & the wine & cocktails. Kelly was very gracious & split the checks amongst the six of us & split cork fee which was great too ! This place is very clean & simple fine dining w/ very attentive & friendly server assistants . Overall a very exceptional dining experience! The only thing that was a very tiny disappointment , you were sold out of the lemon meringue tart ;( but since y'all have a variety of desserts it was totally not an issue . We will have it the next time we dine there ! It was a very nice touch the Birthday ladies got a complimentary dessert ! We will be back for sure !

Yelp
Esin is a cozy, chic restaurant. They offer a nice variety of appetizers and entrees that suite almost any palate. The service was efficient; the staff was informative and friendly. I enjoyed the experience of being there and this made the trip well worth it. I'm an onion soup and steak snob, so for me, I've had more flavorful soup and steak at other establishments, but these items here were still good. The plating of all items was beautiful, and there was a mixture of three stars and four stars given by my party in terms of the taste of the items. Leek and tomato soup **** French onion soup *** Flatbread pizza with peaches and blue cheese **** (a three if you don't care too much for blue cheese--a four if you do) Shrimp risotto **** Salmon and quinoa *** (if you like your salmon fully cooked instead of medium then be sure to let them know) Hangar steak *** New York steak *** I would come here again.

Yelp
My wife and I have celebrated many special occasions at this restaurant, so we were excited to return for her birthday. We arrived on time for our 6:15 reservation and were greeted warmly by our waiter. The evening started out great--we ordered cocktails and an appetizer, and both our meals were delicious. My cod was perfectly cooked, and my wife really enjoyed her pot roast. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn for the worse after that. Despite only being there for 50 minutes, the waiter rushed us through the rest of our meal. He even boxed up my wife's dinner before I had finished mine, which felt incredibly rude. To make matters worse, the birthday note we added to our reservation was completely overlooked. This behavior left a sour taste in our mouths, and we are unsure if we will return after such disappointing service.

Yelp
Had a great lunch here today! Salads were perfect for a day that's 100 outside. The restaurant was a cool oasis. Service was very good. Not sure why they don't serve bread

Kevin C.

Yelp
Back to Esin again for our anniversary! Love this place. Had the burger and again it was prepared purposefully and with care. My wife had the filo wrapped chicken., We wrapped it up with a beautiful lemon tart. Wine parings were excellent and the service was outstanding again! But the STAR of the show was the appetizer!!! Tuna Tartare on toast with an olive tapenade. WOW!!! Loved it!

Yelp
Excellent experience just like last time. I'm unashamed to say I had literally the exact same thing. We also tried the beet salad and the pot roast this time. The beet salad was so good-- the avocado crema was incredible. The pot roast was out of this world-- so tender, practically falling apart. Maybe one of the best beef dishes I've ever had. Our waiter, Tori, was fantastic. Great recommendations, friendly service, overall just really nice. All the staff was professional regarding both my celiac disease and my service dog. Looking forward to coming back.

Sarah T.

Yelp
We have been twice and love it. This is a nice place for an impromptu weeknight dinner or a planned special occasion Very helpful with food allergies!! Lots of gluten free and dairy free options. Very accommodating with other needs. They were also friendly but not intrusive regarding our service dog We have had the pot roast, moussaka and risotto. All were 10/10. Huge dessert menu with lots of gluten free options. Clean bathroom is 2 x gendered. Ample parking in free lot Very friendly waitstaff They have clean silverware for each course. And kept water full

Yelp
This was the first time that I've been to Esin. The food was all really good. Although the tuna fish was good, it was different than expected. We thought that it had too much bread. Flavors were good though. Beet salad was fantastic. We had the prime rib which is a Sunday special and they were nice enough to split it for us. Mashed potatoes were good, green beans were somewhat bland. We finished it off with the peanut butter tart which was exactly what we were looking for! Beware of the Mai tai. It tastes like a creamsicle. It's the rum used that has a strong vanilla flavor and smell but it's overpowering for the drink and it makes it taste very strange and unbalanced. It's the only thing that I would not get again.

Yelp
The service was the best ambiance lovely the food was great i would give it a 10 overall

Yelp
I made reservations and they normally do not reserve tables on the patio but the person who answered the phone said they could put a note to seat us outside. We came here to celebrate my Grandma's birthday and the person at the front was so kind as she saw my Grandma sitting down outside as she can't walk too far. She said that we could sit there if we wanted to as the other table that was reserved for us was farther. So we had a nice table in the shade on a nice balmy day. The food was delicious and they brought out a complimentary dessert for my Grandma's birthday. We also ordered the chocolate peanut butter tart and it was decadent. We all shared the dessert and that was plenty. My Grandma enjoyed her hamburger and Arnold Palmer. What stood out to me was the excellent service. They were friendly from the moment we sat down to when we left. I could clearly tell the wait staff had been trained well. If anyone is looking for a nice place to take someone to lunch, I definitely recommend Esin.

Yelp
Nestled within a charming plaza, Esin Restaurant offers ample parking and inviting ambiance. As we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed by the host and promptly escorted to our reserved table. Consistency is the hallmark of Esin's culinary prowess, and today's dining experience reaffirmed that sentiment. Our selections included the following: Cobb salad with prawns, 5/5 with flawlessly grilled crustaceans that elicited awe with their impeccable crispness and seasoning. Complemented by a harmonious medley of greens, tomatoes, eggs, and dressing, each bite was a symphony of flavors. Likewise, the Caesar salad with chicken and anchovies 5/5 proved to be a resounding success, as tender, succulent chicken harmonized beautifully with the salad's crisp textures and impeccable dressing. The Mushroom risotto 5/5 further elevated our culinary journey with its velvety texture and rich flavor profile, offering a comforting embrace with every spoonful. However, the favorite is the Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich 6/5 --a true masterpiece of culinary craftsmanship. Encased in a perfectly crispy batter, the chicken itself was a revelation of flavor, boasting moistness and juiciness that surpassed all expectations. It was a sublime symphony of taste, leaving an indelible mark on our palates. Concluding our meal with the lemon tart, I give this 4/5 due to its pronounced tartness. Nevertheless, its quality remained commendable. An observation that marred an otherwise stellar experience may be a shortage of staff. Observing the strain on the servers, we couldn't help but feel sympathy as our empty plates lingered unattended, we also waited patiently to flag our server to fill our glasses with water to quench our thirst. Despite this minor setback, Esin Restaurant's culinary prowess shines brightly, ensuring our continued patronage despite the occasional hiccup. I took 1 star off due to the service.

Yelp
Impeccable food! We ordered the roasted beets, butternut squash gnocchi, vegan bowl and risotto. Every single dish was outstanding. I was very impressed! For the first time I couldn't choose a favorite-they all were prefect. I will say they are a bit too hovering and quick to clear your plates, which I did find to be distracting. Other than that, we had a great experience and I will be coming back over. I'm already craving their gnocchi as we speak! Definitely highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Quick pitstop turned out to be a pleasant snacking experience. Had to sit outside due to some of the Covid concerns. The heater was turned on, and we felt relatively comfortable on this mid January day in Danville. Although every time the order was taken, and the drinks, food was served.l - we had a new waiter or bartender bringing it to us. Appetizers, cheese, platter, and salmon were relatively good. The fact that one of the drinks was sold as previously premixed did not impress us, however, it was still good. Outside patio has variety tables to choose from. Service is pleasant and very interchangeable. There is not much difference between lunch and dinner menu, but a two extra dishes in each section. Good place to stop again.

Joey T.

Yelp
WOW what a gem in Danville. Everything we ordered was so good. The baked chicken wrap over couscous was the best. Pot roast was amazing and so tasteful. The mocha cheesecake was so good but not overpowering. The brittle hazelnut was probably better than the dessert itself lol. Our waitress was so nice and patient. The staff were all very kind.

Yelp
Great food. Always great experience. Awesome service as always. A place to come back for any event

Yelp
It was one of the best sit down meal we had after awhile. We promised them we will be back soon.... Amazing service, delicious food very good ambiance!!! We had heard alot about Esin so thought let's have a nice quiet evening (early dinner) before Thanksgiving , we had reservation for 2 @ 5 pm . We reached by 4.40 pm & they were very happy to sit us down early. Upon seating Matthew our server for the evening came & introduced himself... informed the daily specials, & recommended few of his personal choices... We ordered- Roasted Beets Avocado Crema, Almond-Parsley Salsa Verde, Feta, Micro Greens My husband loves beets & he enjoyed it very much. BELLWETHER FARMS FRESH RICOTTA GNOCCHI Roasted Delicata Squash, Sage-Brown Butter Sauce, Toasted Hazelnuts, Grana Padano. I love gnocchi - this was by far one of the best I had after a long time... I am dreaming about it every day!! SLOW COOKED NATURAL POT ROAST Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Baby Root Vegetables, Natural Jus. This was the best pot roast we had.... Fish of the day - Halibut with Garbanzo beans, roasted cauliflower & herbs. Amazing quality of fish ... loved the flavors. Sadly we were full so couldn't eat any dessert... which was a big disappointment for me ... since I really wanted to try their amazing desserts... will be back... Parking was plenty & since we were early we enjoyed our evening very much . We saw this place is very popular among locals... by the time we finished our dinner restaurant was full. We loved our dinning experience will definitely come back for excellent service & delicious food. We are so happy to try Esin & will definitely celebrate our special moments here...

Yelp
We had one our best sit down dinner in a while, here!! Soft lighting , candlelit tables, very friendly and very knowledgeable staff ( Thank you Matthew!) made it a very memorable dinner as well! Now about the food ! Better half ordered the Gnocci starter while I started off with the beet salad. While she swooned over every bite of Gnocci( I tasted it too and found it absolutely delicious as well!), I thoroughly enjoyed the Beet salad for its absolutely fresh ingredients and exquisite balance in the taste and flavors of the accompanying sauce with Feta cheese crumbled over it - the Mediterranean touch!. Wife ordered the Fish of the day - Halibut as her main course and it came with Garbanzo beans in keeping the Mediterranean touch the chef provides to most dishes. It was wonderful. I ordered the pot roast which was on a bed of mashed potatoes and sides of pan fried Brussel Sprouts and pearl Onions - The meat was completely fall-of-the-bone and mashed potato was rich and creamy- a perfect foil to star- the pot roast ! The Brussel sprouts gave the dish the perfect crunch and was a perfect accompaniment ! We were stuffed with all the food we had ordered so far and had no room to partake any of their desserts , something that they are well known for. We promised Matthew we will be back very soon and next time will start with the dessert along with their signature cocktails! Cheers! Enjoy !!

Yelp
Updated review Vanessa, the general manager called me to follow up as she saw my review the day after my partner and I dined in. It definitely meant a lot to me that she called to follow up to gain some clarification on our visit. Vanessa definitely gained as second visit from my partner and I again :)

Yelp
This was my first time at Esin Restaurant. I popped in with my husband and his Mom for a weekend lunch. It's located in a strip mall/plaza, so parking was easy. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated and clean. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and brought to a nice table. For a lunch spot on a weekend, I expected more people in the restaurant, as there were several empty tables available. The server was efficient, although not overtly friendly. We all ordered the specials of the day - a Gemelli pasta with prawns, basil, and mushrooms in a light tomato sauce. The pasta was perfectly cooked al dente. The prawns still had the tails on which, although pretty, is just a bit more of a hassle to eat. I ordered the salmon salad special of the day. It was basically a mixed salad with citrus and walnuts with a small filet of salmon on the side. Nothing revolutionary here. My husband ordered the special fish dish. Lightly sauteed filet of sole with capers in a light lemon butter sauce over fluffy mashed potatoes. This was probably the best dish of the three. For the sweets: a coconut cream tart with a swirl of chocolate sauce. It was heavenly light and creamy with some crunchy toasted coconut on top. Delicious. Also a bittersweet chocolate fudge brownie with caramel pecan sauce and vanilla gelatto. It was too dense and rich for my taste, but my mother-in-law loved it. Nothing overwhelming, but overall it's a good restaurant if you're looking for a spot to grab lunch in Danville.

Astha A.

Yelp
The service is great. We tried the fish special and it was amazing. Highly recommend the seared rare blue fin tuna. They had a little candle lit on the table which set a good mood.

Robert C.

Yelp
Came here on a family outing. Had a late reservation on a busy Friday night; came in about 15 min early and we got lucky and were seated. Received a friendly greeting from our server- she was excellent by the way. In fact, all the wait staff was excellent. Started with the salmon tartare- very good. Had a beet salad (lots of beets), split a Caesar, and shared the tasty French onion soup. We ordered the NY steak, the vodka sauce pasta (nice spicy kick), crab cakes, and the specials: king salmon over couscous and halibut over pea risotto. My halibut was perfectly cooked and very moist- not easy with halibut. Ended dinner with four desserts. All in all, a great time at Esin.

Mille C.

Yelp
Esin is a Goldilocks of restaurants. Have patronized them since they were located in the industrial section of north San Ramon. No occasion too formal or too casual. Have been here with coworkers for staff lunches but also with family to celebrate birthdays. Have also dined solo at the bar. Been here for lunch where suit clad business types and "moms who lunch" cliques are seated next to jeans-wearing groups. Food is comfort food but elevated. Find grandma type food like pot roast but cooked by pros. Of special note are the desserts, reflecting the pastry background of the owner. Latest visit, had the braised lamb shank with collared greens while mom had the duck cassoulet. Both yummy. Loved the lemon meringue tart, the banana not so much. Lemonade seemed to be fresh squeezed with no sugar added. Instead of sugar packs, wish they offered simple syrup. Would have been easier to incorporate into cold lemonade than granulated sugar. Find it interesting that there is a different more abbreviated menu between lunch and dinner. Fortunately, they were able to offer items from the dinner menu when we came here during shift change, about 30 minutes before dinner officially started. Do wish the music is turned down. Was a bit too loud to be considered background music. 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars

Lisa K.

Yelp
Food- delicious and service- excellent, left a really great impression for my first experience there. Ever since then, it's been a go to restaurant for some good food in a relaxed but classy atmosphere. Good food and your stomach full type of place. All the dishes I've tried are good and would go back for at any given chance. Have taken friends and everyone enjoys their time there. Ample parking as its in a plaza, seating outside or indoors. Beautiful spacing inside. Can't go wrong with this place. Give it a try!

Sandra E.

Yelp
I am not sure how we have never heard of this spot before, but I am certainly glad we found it! From the minute you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile and the service only gets better. Our waitress was knowledgeable, fun and so attentive to our needs. We were able to enjoy delicious appetizers and not feel rushed to order dinner. When we received out dinner, we were in awe. It was HOT and delicious. And the dessert was soo good. We ordered 3 and shared them. We can't wait to return!

Barbara S.

Yelp
The food and service here is amazing! We come to Esin a lot and it never disappoints!!

Randy B.

Yelp
Esin and Revel Kitchen & Bar are both owned by the same owners, very cool. I've been to Revel, and have wanted to come to Esin for a lonnnnnggg time. It was a Wednesday night, and I was hungry earlier. At 545pm, I show up at the hostess stand, and they did not have a table open in the restaurant -- an indication that they are good. Sigh, I sat at the bar. Well, the bar turned out to be great. Spot on bartender, chattin' and jokin', and wow -- excellent food. I ordered the POT ROAST -- served with garlic mashed, baby carrots, and brussels [$26, 5.0 stars]. Perfect portion, presented beautifully, and super tender and delicious. I kinda loved it. Met a nice couple all-the-while. I'll be back with bells on. PS. The dessert menu is worthy

Ekaterina T.

Yelp
I wasn't impressed with my recent experience at this restaurant. I had been here before with a large group, but I returned recently specifically for their lemon meringue tart. That day we ordered salmon tartar, onion soup, fish with mash and resotto. Unfortunately, the service was subpar; we waited for the waiter for so long, and even when he finally appeared, he seemed disengaged. The food was mediocre; the risotto tasted like something you'd find in a frozen meal from Trader Joe's. Additionally, the price of the wine we ordered was three times higher than what you'd pay for it at a Flat iron store in San Francisco. Vacuuming while customers are present was also off-putting; a broom would have been a better choice. Overall, the dessert might be worth returning for, but the rest of the experience was just average.

Ron M.

Yelp
Went to ESIN last Friday for lunch with my wife and an old friend. We had been there several times since our last review and must say, things are as good as ever. We all had some Sancerre wine, Petrale sole for two of us and a shrimp salad for the other. Everything was great and the service was spot on. The creme brulee for dessert was excellent. The place has a nice vibe and ambiance which we like a lot. We'll be back sooner than later.

K P.

Yelp
Service: 5/5 Attentive courteous staff that will take care of all your needs. We had a reservation and were given a booth with benches. On mentioning it feels a bit cramped, we were happily moved to a larger table with chairs despite peak hours. Ambience: 4/5. Modern warm decor with dark wooden furniture. Good lighting and air-conditioning. Slightly noisy but it could be because of a Sunday peak dinner time just before closing. Proper outdoor seating if preferred. Food: 5/5 We order dishes of lamb, beef, chicken and salmon with Mediterranean starters followed by deserts and coffee. All tasted fresh and great with generous portions using quality ingredients/produce. Our only suggestion is to go easy on salt a bit. Highly recommend.

Yelp
To celebrate a special occasion, my boyfriend and I and his parents came to Esin. This was my first time here and it was lovely. Parking is easy in their huge lot, the ambiance is warm and inviting and the service is friendly. We made a reservation for 730 on a Saturday and were seated quickly upon arrival. As an appetizer we had the flat bread with strawberries and balsamic. It was delicious! Savory and sweet. We all really enjoyed it. As our mains we had the steak, halibut, lentil soup and organic greens and the pot roast. Now, I can't speak to everyone else dishes except to say that they all enjoyed them but I had the pot roast and it was perfection. The meat was so tender and juicy and fell apart at the touch of my fork. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the veggies were cooked just right. I would absolutely order this again! Lastly, dessert. I was so full but the 4 of us shared the brownie alamode and the mixed berry crumble and they were also incredible. I only had a bite of each and was disappointed I couldn't fit anymore, they were so good. Special shout out to our server. Pretty sure her name is Emily. She had short dark hair and is studying to be a nurse. She is friendly, professional and had some great suggestions that helped us choose the perfect meal from their incredible menu. Can't wait to go back!

Pepithad P.

Yelp
The chicken sandwich (and all are most of the food) is exquisite. The servers are kind and remember you from previous times you have come. The ambience, particularly outside, is nice.

Imelda R.

Yelp
We sat at the bar because we didn't have reservations but it was perfect. Bar staff was very friendly, efficient and made us feel comfortable. We actually had the best seats; we loved the desserts and cheese platters being plated and garnished! We ordered the octopus which was PERFECTLY cooked - very tender. The cheese choices was excellent served with jam, nuts and prunes. The desserts looked amazing but we passed to make room for another bar in town. New American cuisine ambience was family-friendly and relaxed.

Yelp
Danville, CA We had a perfect dining experience from the reservation to the food and the service. The restaurant was fully packed with reservations and they were able to accommodate us and move a few things around when I called a few days prior to us dining, I am pretty sure it was Tracy who made things happen. When we arrived at the restaurant our table was ready, we were seated promptly, and received excellent service. Esin is 1 of 3 restaurants owned by the same owner. We have also dined at Revel and enjoyed our experience there but I would say this is even a notch above. The menu at Essen is California farm to table with a Mediterranean influence. 5 stars Hummus appetizer We ordered 2 of these because our 1st order was just not quite enough for the 5 people dining together. There were 4 pieces of triangular house made pita bread that were excellent, 4 olives, and a rather small amount of hummus. The flavors on this appetizer were beautiful but because the dish was on the small side we had to order another one. 5 stars Beet Salad with Avocado Crema This was an outrageously delicious beet salad it's among the best I've ever had. Again, the appetizer was a small portion but enough for 5 people to each share a couple of pieces of beets. The cream was perfectly balanced with the beets nothing was overpowered and the flavors were excellent. 5 stars King Salmon with fennel and wild musrooms with citrus beurre blanc, another winner of a dish and the special of the evening. 5 stars Grilled Prawns Perfectly grilled prawns were shared among the table, These are fantastic and if I were to dine here again I would order them with a Caesar salad. As we were leaving, I saw tables around us with beautiful looking Caesar salads at their tables, in retrospect I would have liked to order the prawns with a Caesar salad as an appetizer for sharing. Our dinner was relaxed and enjoyable. Everyone seemed to enjoy their dishes. 4 stars Apple cranberry cobbler This was the most disappointing out of everything we ordered. While it was good I would never order it again. You could taste the quality of the ingredients but it came as a small tart style slice, the fruit was rather dry, versus a bowl that you would expect a cobbler to be in, hot and oozing with juices and a crumble. The cobbler dessert we had at their sister restaurant was so good that I thought for sure this would be a winner but it was just OK. This restaurant group is known for their desserts so we probably just picked the wrong one. Parking is free and the lot is large, but reservations are highly recommended. We were told that if we didn't make a reservation we might not have gotten a seat on the evening we dined.

Yelp
This is one of our go to spots! The service here is great, the food and drinks are always delicious. We love that the menu changes so we are able to try new things! Our favorite items are the scallops, risotto and any of their desserts!! Highly recommend!

Harold F.

Yelp
We love Esin! We have been eating here for Many years. The food is amazing, with perfect flavor and texture combinations. And the desserts are to die for! Our personal favorites there are the coconut cream pie, the lemon meringue, baklava, the bread puddings, and the chocolate peanut butter tart. But really, all of the desserts are outstanding. Tonight's meal was the best I have had there. Really up there with the finest restaurants I've eaten in around the world. I had the salmon special, and high was cooked to perfection and brilliantly seasoned, with a polenta cake that was perfectly crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. My wife had the hangar steak, which was amazing. We are so lucky to have Esin in our town! I really can't recommend it highly enough. Not to be left out, the bar is also great, as is the wine list, and the ambiance is lovely. I've gone there for romantic dinners with my wife, celebrations with family and friends, and business lunches (the Caeser salad makes a great lunch with one of their proteins on it).and I haven't even mentioned that they have an amazing burger, incredible risotto, and so much more. Bravo!

Yelp
I have been here for dinner in the past and always enjoyed it, but it had been years since I have gone; it is a bit far from home. Today, I had a lovely lunch with my daughter. We shared the roasted beets appetizer, and it was delicious. I ordered the mushroom risotto. At first glance, the portion seemed small, but it was creamy, rich, delectable, and filling. My daughter had to cod sandwich with house-made potato chips, and she enjoyed it. We each had leftovers to bring home. We had our two dogs with us, and their shady outdoor patio was ideal for them. And the service was excellent!

Yelp
I ordered the pot roast to go and a slice of coconut cheesecake. I'm confused about that because it doesn't look like cheesecake and I asked 2 times about the cheesecake. I asked if it's home made and I made sure it would come plain. Except for the coconut of course. I knew there would be coconut in it since it's coconut cheesecake. But I didn't want any of the extra sauces on it. At some point it would have been nice if the person taking my order would have said, "by the way this isn't cheesecake, it's a tart or cream pie". I was ordering dessert with the desire of having cheesecake. This is the reason for the 4 star review instead of 5 star. The pot roast came perfect in the to go container. The potatoes came separate which I appreciated because I could see that becoming messy. Also I appreciated that the gravy or juice is in a small separate little to go cup. I wish there was atleast 2 of the cups though. There isn't nearly enough juice for a pot roast dinner. I guess this can also be a reason for 4 stars. The meal doesn't deserve 3 stars that's for sure. The pot roast is very tender. Just like you'd want pot roast to be. However I cooked myself extra carrots because the amount I was given wasn't even enough for a sample bite if you ask me. It was 2 carrots being as skinny as a pencil and 1 was as long as a pencil and the other was only as long as half of a pencil. I needed more then this for sure. There was also green beans and 3 pearl onions. The amount of everything else was good. Plenty of potatoes and a good amount of meat for me. Anyone else may have wanted more. I'm a gastric bypass patient so the amount I can eat is substantially less then the normal adult. The amount I paid was $26 for the pot roast. I guess a little more for that amount would be nice of course. But it was food that if eaten inside the restaurant you would have had a good experience because the atmosphere was pleasant and very upscale. So most of the time you pay for that as well when you look at the cost of the food at restaurants. Me eating alone though I prefer to get my food to go and eat at home. While I'm visiting the Danville area I wanted to visit popular restaurants that are on Yelp and I'm happy this is one of the choices I made because the food is good and the service was great. I wish I would have got the name of the very pretty girl who was the hostess this evening because she was very friendly and showed wonderful customer service skills. Well if you know who worked on Friday 7/21/23 at 8pm as the hostess please pass on that her friendliness is appreciated. Hope you can eat at this establishment at some point as I did, you'll be happy and maybe left wanting more as I do. There was a very lengthy list of yummy looking desserts that are all made in house I was told and people eating in the restaurant had plates with food that looked mouth watering. So yes I'll be back for more probably sooner then later. Bon Appétit

Yelp
Came from out of town to have lunch yesterday with my 2 sisters and niece. Salmon salad was so delicious and cooked to perfection! This review is about Paige, our server. She was so friendly, perfect amount of attention and her smile was so warm. I told her I'd love to hang out with her, she seemed like a good time! Thanks Paige for the great service but most of all the warmth I felt from you. Will definitely ask for your section next time!

Yelp
Everything at this restaurant was top-notch, including the incredible service. It was really clear our waiter wanted to do whatever was necessary to make us happy. The limited wine list covered all the bases. A very unusual tuna appetizer on toast with white bean, hummus and green olives, and capers Sounded odd and was absolutely delicious! I had the beet salad with avocado, Crema and another guest really liked the black cod preparation

Yelp
Esin is the go to restaurant for celebrations. Many of my friends and also myself enjoy the food and the service. Today, I was with a couple of girlfriends for our get together. We always enjoy a family style lunch. We shared a couple of starters Salmon tartare served with chips and a Burrata cheese with toast. We next had the Shrimp Cobb salad followed by Petrale sole accompanied by green beans and mash potatoes. We also shared our favorite dessert - Black bottom banana pie. Everything was delicious.

Yelp
So this is a regular weekend nosh for my wife and I. We love Esin, I've been coming for years - even before I met my wife - for lunch and dinner. Sunday night is Prime Rib night - if you arrive early enough, you can feast (they only have a limited number fo PR servings). As you can see in the photo, it's a generous portion, and always delicious. Service is typically warm, friendly, professional. Food is wonderful. Drinks are done well. Go to Esin. You won't regret it.

Yelp
Wow, wow, WOW! This was our first time here but it won't be the last! We made reservations for dinner on a Wednesday. Glad we did because this place was nonstop busy.... Our table was read for us on time. We were shown to the table and they immediately had water on the table. Our waitress was there to get drink order and answer questions. We ordered drinks and appetizers. They came fairly quickly . What was really nice was we never felt rushed through the whole evening. We visited with our friends and enjoyed our appetizers and cocktails and then the waitress came back over to get our order for our main. Appreciated that when we were asking questions about menu items, she never tried to upsell which was very nice. All of the food was hot and delicious. They don't over salt the food to drive flavor. We shared 2 desserts- the coconut sorbet and the apple cranberry crisp. The crisp was phenomenal. Just the right balance of tart and sweet. So many things looked good going by so we'll definitely have to come back!!!

Yelp
4 of had dinner there Sunday evening. Two men had prime rib which they very much enjoyed. One gal had the filo wrapped chicken breast and she enjoyed it very much. I have had that a few times before and was going to order but then I noticed they had Moussaka on the Menu and decided to try it and it was soooo good! Their dessert selection is also very good. We had a great waiter named Plinio. I hope the Moussaka is on the menu more often.

Yelp
There is a reason this restaurant has been around for over 20 years! Great place to go if you are celebrating a special occasion. Service and ambiance are great, and they also take reservations. I am a fan of the french onion soup, the brussels sprouts, and the short ribs. Everything that I have seen other people order also look really good. Given price point, quality and quantity, and customer service, I think this place is worth it. T

Yelp
I have great memories of this place, but how the things change... esinrestaurant.com has menus for customers to review and they look great, but when you arrive for your dinner you get presented with a very different menu that does not have things you came for on it and no one cares or knows how to explain what happened. This is supposed to be a high end establishment, but I guess small details do not matter anymore, the bar has been lowered that much.

Yelp
Always consistent with the quality of food and service. Nice all around restaurant for so many great reasons! BRAVO ESIN!!

Yelp
Esin is a local favorite that nails both the classy yet relaxed ambiance and the consistent quality of their food and service. Our server was very attentive, and we placed our order and received our food within 15-20 minutes of being seated. I ordered the caramelized onion soup and organic lettuces salad. The soup came out piping hot and was blanketed with rich, melted cheese. Underneath, the savory broth was balanced by the sweetness of the caramelized onions. While I enjoyed the soup, I would have preferred it to be served with a side of crusty bread - instead of or in addition to the bread inside the soup. The organic lettuces salad was crisp, refreshing, and struck the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The crunchy walnuts and sweet Asian pears and grapes paired excellently with the creamy ricotta. Overall, our meal at Esin was satisfying and provided a pleasant setting for our celebratory lunch.
