I don't know how this place has so many good reviews, if you like tasteless coffee, tasteless Mexican wanna be food, I can't even call this tex mex, then you have to try this, but if you really like Mexican food or even Tex-Mex do not come here. Do not waste your time. Do not waste your money. Everything was pretty much gross. only thing that was good were the tortillas. Those are really good. Menudo tasted like it was reheated from last week and mixed in with a Menudo from this week, the enchilada sauce, and the Chilaquiles sauce is the same sauce. Little too sour needed lots of salt ,beans seemed canned and that salsa was definitely canned, waiter was cool, . would give zero states if could,

One star is too much, we took my mom to celebrate her birthday it all started good but they took almost an hr to get the food for our table. When it finally arrived my husband’s plate was wrong we asked for the beef and shrimp fajita plate specifically said no onions or chicken, my mom asked for double rice and enchiladas- it was wrong too. My husband didn’t want to return the plate because the wait time had been too long but the waiter insisted since he heard me complaining lol they took it back removed the chicken and literally there was 3 shrimp and like 10 mini pieces of meat for $$28.39 and the salad had picadillo with onlions I had to remove them from the plate right before I took the picture My sister ordered caldo the res and she couldn’t eat the meat it was too rubbery my kids asked for milanesa and their meet was bad as well total we paid $180 and nobody even ate. So think twice before choosing this place.

We went here on a Sunday for brunch. We were able to get a table for 12 pretty easily so that was great. We sat on the patio - it's covered with fans and it was very pleasant even for end of May. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The food just was very average. Huevos con chorizo y papas was fry and underseasoned. Honestly it wasn't better than what you would cook at home in a skillet. I had huevos rancheros and they were pretty good but there was no spice or heat level. The Micheladas were very good, everyone liked those. Final thing, and the largest, the Mexican shrimp cocktail - every shrimp had not been deveined. You could see the innards and no one serves it this way bc it's gross and unappetizing. Had I ordered it I would have sent it back. Overall a mid experience. Food wasn't bad, but just fairly average.

Google
I’ve never had a bad meal here. I prefer the chilaquiles for breakfast, bistek ranchero for lunch/dinner. The Caldo (soup) is excellent and not a puny portion. I dare anyone to finish the caldo de res in one sitting and not have to loosen up their belt.

Google
The food was good but not what I was expecting. My Milanese was good but my fiancés was not good at all. He said it tasted like grass and dirt. The margaritas were amazing! The service was also great! Maybe we’ll just try something different next time

Michelle S.

Google
Went for brunch and ordered chilaquiles, a favorite of mine, they came with refried beans and these incredible potatoes. Everything was seasoned perfectly and very tasty. I will definitely be coming back to try more menu items 😊

Google
Food was excellent. Met my mother there for early lunch. She had quesadilla and I had Migas. We both loved our food and had food leftover. We also ordered a dozen tamales upon leaving for whenever we feel like it. Forgot to get a picture of our plated food. Cost is about avg. $10-20 or so(most about$15). If you enjoy margaritas, must have one here!

Great Restaurant visiting The Stockyards. I ordered breakfast tacos and pan dulce and it did not disappoint!!

Yelp
My family and I have been dining at Esparanza's for decades. Breakfast is our go to. Honestly just stepping foot in the restaurant brings back so many memories. The smell from the bakery to the delicious food. There is something being served that's going to leave you with a lasting memory. Recently I reserved tables on the covered patio for my daughter's 15th birthday breakfast. There were heaters on so it wasn't so chilly. But honestly after a few rounds of their delicious bloody Mary's you won't need the heaters! They graciously accommodated our large party and even had multiple other parties with us that morning. Our waitress was amazing, she handled us perfectly and always made sure all of our needs were met. Five star service for sure! My favorite breakfast dish is the migas half order. There is soooo much food I'm never able to finish it. Easily makes 3 meals. The corn tortillas are my favorite! Dipped in their yummy refried beans you can't go wrong. And don't forget an horchata! My daughter loves their horchata! She orders it every visit. Definitely a Fort Worth landmark that deserves recognition.

Yelp
Inside looks just as bad as the outside old and need updates Service was slow wasn't that busy either never got a refill on drinks Hot sauce was good chips were cold and tasted like they just came out of a bag green sauce on enchiladas was sweet and odd ill pass on eating around the stock yards anywhere

Yelp
We came here after watching the longhorn cattle drive at the Stockyards; with a fairly large group of 7, we were worried about being sat (indoors with the AC for sure lol). There wasn't any issue & they sat us immediately, which was a nice surprise. Our server was also excellent: attentive, funny, & just seemed like a really nice guy. We each ordered a drink, I got a piña colada. The cocktails mostly came in huge goblet glasses, which was awesome, especially for the price! They were really tasty & refreshing. Each of us also got a little dish of salsa & then baskets of chips for the table, which is how you can tell this was going to be a bomb meal. I got Huevos rancheros & this was seriously some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. The eggs were fresh, the refried beans were just incredible, & the potatoes were delicious. We all ate ourselves into a food coma because it was all so good that we couldn't help it lol. Toward the end of the meal, we also got 2 tortilla warmers full of fresh tortillas, which we ended up taking home because they were so so good. At one point there was also a mariachi band, so that was super fun! We were joking about moving into the restaurant & that feeling still stands! I'll 1000% be back to Fort Worth, if only for Esperanza's.

Yelp
Came to eat here on Sunday before heading to the Stockyards. Very disappointing. This place has definitely changed how they cook their food. Joe T dinner was a joke. Anyone remember ElPaso frozen dinner, I think they popped it out and reheated it. The Gordita was decent but should be called a Gordita. The meat was good but it was just a corn shell stuffed with plain meat and quickly became fried. Definitely not a "Mexican" restaurant. More like Tex - kinda mex. Very disappointed.

Cris T.

Yelp
This used to be my go to spot for breakfast, but they jacked up the prices and the service is terrible now. My food was served cold and the server offered to microwave it for me. What a joke! There are plenty of better options nearby.

Peter G.

Yelp
If you are looking for an authentic Mexican food this is the place!!! Delicious and the service right on point!!!

Gina M.

Yelp
Delicious food, homemade tortillas. Salsa cold, but it was OK. Great serving portions!!

Diana D.

Yelp
I ordered the sour cream and chicken enchiladas and a house margarita,I really enjoyed it. My partner ordered the Uno combination and a Tamal, his food was alright. We also ordered the queso con carne, I would probably skip it. Our waiter was nice and prompt with our order. The place needs a little love. We went on a Thursday evening and the place was dead, we were the only other table there. I would see this place as a nice spot to go and support the community but not as a go to place when in town. I failed to mention, the tortillas were really good and they have also have a bakery, their pan dulce looks good.

William E.

Yelp
Food was subpar. Cheese enchiladas tasted odd. Rice and beans were ok. Service was average. Ambiance is bad as the restaurant is quite loud.

Colton B.

Yelp
Super tasty and aesthetic place to go with family or great for a date night. The customer service is great and the servers won't let your drink go dry!

Corie B.

Yelp
Took a look at the menu and could decide what to get. We landed on a few different menu items: barbacoa tacos, caldo de res, menudo, and caldo de pollo. They put a lot of meat in the tacos. You could easily make 2-3 tacos if you split the meat up. The caldo de res was way better tasting than the caldo de pollo. I would spend the few extra bucks for de res. The menudo was DELICIOUS! It's definitely a must. Food was priced reasonably for the portion sizes. My only complaint was the service. A little slow especially since there wasn't a crowd. This place is not for looks either. You come here expecting good, flavorful food and not really for the ambience. Also if you're looking for Tex- mex this probably isn't your place. Walk across the street to Joe T's for that.

Linda S.

Yelp
So here's the deal, we were have my a 4 star experience until the food came. Our service was great until the food came, then the server disappeared until it was time for the check. We had to flag someone down for a to go box after several minutes of searching for the server. The migas, which I have had before but it's been years was very disappointing. The flavors were good as far as seasoning but there was no egg, like literally no egg. It was a pile of tortilla chips with some shredded chicken and cheese melted on top. The potatoes were excellent and the refried beans were good. The salsa given with the chips at the beginning of the meal was fresh and flavorful. The tortillas served with lunch were fresh and homemade, both corn and flour. I felt bad that one of our guests ordered the migas based on our recommendation. I never would have thought it would have changed so much.

Raymond M.

Yelp
I am of Mexican descent. I remember Esperanza's being on Hemphill and Rosedale. Esperanza's made their mark with ninety-five percent Mexican customers. So then they decided to move to Park Place and here recently their menu prices are through the roof. We have been customers for 42 years but after last weeks visit, we will no longer be eating at their restaurant. Our waiter brought out our food before the chips and salsa. We got our silver ware after. We have been priced out with the bad service. We have always loved the flour tortillas but we have found them elsewhere. The chairs are hard wood and uncomfortable too.

J Warren R.

Yelp
Breakfast review only. Solid choice for a good Mexican breakfast, the Huevos Rancheros, with a side of bacon was a great selection. Comes with beans and a ranchero sauce. Bacon was thick cut, cooked perfectly. Large and filling, I skipped lunch. Hot, and all you can drink coffee. Service was good, not particularly friendly -- too early I suppose. Dining Room is large. Lots of bakery items available.

Jason K.

Yelp
I have been coming to the Esperanza's in the Stockyards with my grandmother for months now. The food is always and the portions are spectacularly large. I always order the Chorizo con huevos which comes with refried beans and breakfast potatoes. This is the best chorizo I've ever had. Their bakery also has the best pastries, their empanadas are divine. Esperanza's is across the street from Joe T. Garcias but the food is so much better. Everyone at Esperanza's is very helpful and will answer any questions you have over the menu. This is an excellent place for brunch but is also great for a dinner meal as well.

Angelina C.

Yelp
This used to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, but this place has gone downhill over the years. I was giving it a chance to redeem itself these past few visits, but I've gotten even more disappointed each time. The food is not authentic anymore. It's not tex-mex food either. It's just sad "Mexican" food. I think they are doing to save money, cater to a different audience more, or a mixture of both.

Joann F.

Yelp
A nice little casual restaurant. Decided to have breakfast here with my family. Staff was friendly and waitress was attentive. Enjoyed the traditional Mexican food. Surprised to see hard liquor available in the morning. Food was fulfilling that we opted not to go to their bakery next door for dessert. Parking is tight and limited as it got busy real fast.

Chris G.

Yelp
Long wait time for ok food had the menudo and had one spoon full that was it definitely not good in my opinion.

Curtis C.

Yelp
We ate breakfast here again this morning! They did not disappoint.... salsa is probably the best i've ate from any restaurant. Service was very good even though they were very busy. Love this place!

Riann M.

Yelp
Wholeheartedly fell in love with the green chicken enchiladas. I'm sure every thing is good but I have to order this every time. Skinny Margarita was a little pricey but delicious.

Mesha S.

Yelp
Wonderful food and Amazing Customer every time I come. Love the plants everywhere and the welcoming feeling you get when you walk through the door.

Bobbie D.

Yelp
Food is good... it's just loud inside. Was not impressed with the pan dulce. The Conchas tasted like the top was made with too much butter or vegetable oil.

Amy F.

Yelp
Excellent food, quick service and phenomenal pancakes. We're coming back here every time we visit.

Sho N.

Yelp
Lacked flavor in my dish and in the food my associate ordered. Neither one of us felt like the service anything to brag about out. Wasn't super busy at lunch time.

Rhonda B.

Yelp
First time here, and will not be back. Waitress lost our order. Adult plate quesadilla was the same size as the child's meal, but the child's plate came with beans and rice and is several dollars cheaper. Beware that the burrito is only meat. You do not get cheese or anything. Waitress messed up the checks and was rude fixing them. Never once saw a manager to be able to talk to. Do not waste your time or money here.

Mike V.

Yelp
So good had menudo for breakfast the service was the best and the food was very good. A must try

Aileen H.

Yelp
Best meal we had in Fort Worth. Reasonably priced and authentic. We were there for breakfast. Would go back again.

D'Ann H.

Yelp
We eat at Esperanza's at least once a month. Today we sat in the enclosed patio which was wonderful. It was a little chilly so they had the heaters on, and it was plenty warm. Our waiter was excellent always right there when we needed some thing and the food was delicious as always And I highly recommend Esperanza's whenever you're in the area

Dylan H.

Yelp
Ordered the combo fajitas and they were AMAZING! totrtillas were on point too! Definently will come here again

Oscar B.

Yelp
Place is in the Stockyards. The breakfast there is amazing, I suggest the chorizo chillaqelles. They are amazing and portions are great. Great drinks and nice admasophere.

Jesús S L.

Yelp
Terrible service! We had to call on another server to help us because our waiter disappeared! Prices are very high. Spend your money elsewhere! It's not that gteat!

Brittany T.

Yelp
Great food! The best service! The ambiance was relaxed. We ordered chilaquiles with red sauce and migas with red sauce both with chorizo. Delish.

Rigo M.

Yelp
This is a family favorite for breakfast burritos and the bakery treats are the best. If you haven't tried it you are missing out on something really good.

Jeff U.

Yelp
The refried beans were fantastic Rita on the rocks was liked by Molly Combo fajitas were very good Salsa was great, good bite Place was empty today I'd recommend you stop in No bakery choices today

Andrew 1.

Yelp
Server was great but the food was poor. There was mariachi but you couldn't hear them which was sad as they sounded great when we could hear them. The meat quality is poor for the prices. For 15 bucks the bistec rancheros use low quality meat and lacks any flavor(tastes watered down). The skirt steak is maybe the only thing worth trying. Be aware they only have white corn tortillas, which are mediocre at best. Again the service was great but you visibly see them cutting corners when it comes to food quality. Which is sad for a restaurant with a storied history but not suprising given the rising cost of food and supplies. Anyways this place has an amazing ambiance and well decorated interior, it is just the food quality that can lack. I am from out of town and was disappointed but luckily their bakery makes up for the food. I recommend some of their cookies and conchas.

LaTaya M.

Yelp
Food was pretty good, drinks were strong, will for sure go again. The place a little cramped but the ambiance is pretty good. Service was pretty fast, even though the place was full.

Robert V.

Yelp
This is an extension of Joe T's next door. This mostly TexMex style restaurant has a nice ambiance and is very spacious. The staff was very professional and the Chilaquiles were great! I highly recommend this place!

Luis M.

Yelp
External appearances aren't indicatives of its phenomenal food. Fresh Mexican pastries, great coffee and food. The only downside is portions are a little too big. The flour tortillas that came with my breakfast plate were are fresh and I believe they were hand made.

Steven P.

Yelp
Ate here in recommendation from a local... Sunday noon or so - it was about a 30 min wait. Not too bad for a Sunday brunch time. Chips and salsa came quickly and service was prompt and speedy throughout. My wife had the chili relleno in a ranchero sauce and I had 3 enchiladas in red sauce. I had a ground beef, shredded, and chicken enchilada. Rice and beans accompanied the meals. Both dishes were very good, with compliments on the sauces. Warm tortillas were served with the relleno and they were really good. I put some butter and a little sugar on one as a little dessert! Esperanza has a wide range of selections including breakfast all day, so plenty of options for everyone.

Uma Z.

Yelp
The add on prices are $3+. The food was pretty good, could use some extra salt. It was a bit warm and jam packed inside, which is too much combined with Texas heat. The entry way was obnoxiously tight, knocking down a little bit of that wall would make all of the difference. Service was well, attentive enough for how busy it was. Overall would return, only for take out though.

Eva Maria T.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast at Esperanza's! The restaurant was super busy, but the line moves very fast. My husband and I both ordered migas with the spicy salsa roja he added chorizo to his. The portion sizes are huge! We could have easily split a single order and still has leftovers. They also brought out warm homemade flour tortillas. Those were excellent as well. They also have an in house Mexican bakery attached to the restaurant. Service was fast and efficient. Highly recommended!

Joseph P.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with family, they served my fiance undercooked food and had attitude when we asked not to be charged for it after returning the food. Then busboy came and stood by our table with arms crossed waiting for my family to leave. Horrible service, below average food.

Chris H.

Yelp
We haven't been here in about 2 years and was really looking forward to their amazing huevos rancheros. I was sadly mistaken, there were not good at all. They changed it the dish. The ranchero sauce was just very thick salsa that had a different taste. I couldn't figure out what spices they used but it was not good. They put way too much over my egg, yes I only got 1 egg and the potatoes tasted and looked like they had been sitting in a pan for awhile. They only saving grace was the beans, flour tortillas and coffee. My wife ordered the #3 and was equally underwhelmed. The rice was undercooked and crunchy. There was so much red sauce on the plates that completely overtook the tamale and enchiladas. Sad to say we will not be returning.

Alma S.

Yelp
We are from SA & I was hopeful when eating with the delicious chips & salsa. Their chips are delicious. Sadly, whe we got our order, we were disappointed with most of the flavors. My Mom ordered the Carne de puerco w/ chili rojo. The pork was cooked perfectly, very tender, but rojo sauce was inedible. The oregano was so overpowering. The rice was fluffy and cooked perfectly & the beans were tasty. My husband and I shared the 3 enchiladas in red sauces with a side of borracho beans. He liked the ryed sauce, I didn't. The borracho beans were amazing, I ate those! Again, rice was cooked perfectly. The flour tortillas looked, felt and smelt authentic but were lacking in flavor. The corn tortillas were tasty. Big portions good service, but I'll stay away from the red sauce next time!

Katrina N.

Yelp
Very very busy on a Sunday early afternoon. We parked in the back which was ok but the parking around the restaurant was not enforced. Lots of people parked in "no parking" spots made it difficult to get through to the restaurant. There was quite a line to be seated but it did go quickly. The chips and salsa were very good. Sprite from soda fountain tasted like carbonated water so we got plain water instead which was fine. We ordered migas which was very good just different from how I make it. Very heavy on the corn tortillas and not a lot of egg. Plenty of chicken with the order and the tomato sauce we ordered on the side was delicious. With three kids I prefer quick service and more attentive wait staff but overall experience wasn't horrible just more I had bargained for in taking the family to eat. This is a nostalgic place for my dad so that's why we went to this location.

Jamie W.

Yelp
We ordered several dishes all of which were relatively bland aside from the nopales con huevo y chorizo. It was the best dish we had. The Arroz con Leche was lacking any significant flavor. This dish should have a hint of cinnamon and should be sweet to taste. This was literally just rice and warm milk. Don't have high expectations if you were wanting others wise The pork tamales were dry and under seasoned. The barbacoa plate wasn't that great either. The barbacoa itself lacked seasoning and was very greasy. The wait staff was polite and friendly. The margaritas are strong. I'd try it again since this is my first time, but would order completely different items

P P.

Yelp
Very sad to say this place has gone down hill. The floor was slick was grease (?) on the tile floors in the restaurant all the way thru to the bathrooms. Corners and sides of the baseboards were very dirty with grim. I mentioned to the man behind the bar area and he said " we have the yellow signs up that show floors are slippery" Really?? Saw a couple come in after us who sat down two tables away and was trying to adjust her hearing aids to the loud music - she asked the waiter if they could turn it down and he walked away and rolled his eyes. Yes, I did see that. The couple got up and walked out. I had also asked for the music to be turned down and nothing. After that, we just got a Joe T Nacho and left. This place used to be CLEAN, friendly and I get a Saturday afternoon needs music but not to the point where I have to yell across the table. Sad sad situation. We used to come once a week, moved out of town and this is always a place we want to come to. Not anymore. One star for only the Joe T nacho-

Hoa N.

Yelp
Pretty good for a Joe T Garcia's knock off restaurant. It seems that this place gets mostly locals and there are a lot more options then just two items available on the menu as described to is about Joe T Garcia's restaurant. Portions are appropriate for the price and love the chips and salsa. The salsa was excellent with a little kick. I could have just fill up on chips and salsa. I ordered the chicken and steak combo fajitas. They do not skimp on the tortillas here. She brought out two holders of tortillas right away which was awesome! The meat needed a little more seasoning or flavoring. The chicken had better flavoring than the steak did and the steak was way over cooked so it was hard but otherwise pretty good. I use the salsa to dip the fajitas and that brought out the flavoring more and made it taste so much better. Everyone liked their entrees and we end up having two containers of leftovers! Would definitely recommend checking this place out. They have a bakery attached. It's a good thing that we didn't want to wait in line at Joe T Garcia's and got seated right away at this place.

Matt A.

Yelp
Outstanding restaurant and bakery!! Be sure to sit outside. Worth a trip to Fort Worth just for this!
