Really great Greek spot with lots of options at different price points. Our server was very nice and attentive- and when my dining companion ordered their food without cheese, the waiter made sure to advise on any other dairy based foods we ordered (asking if the sauce on the gyro was okay and the dressing on the salad) which was super appreciated! Fast service, and there's almost always somewhere to sit! We both got gyros which were delicious- the meat was so tender and the pita bread was so flaky and amazing. The basic gyro comes with a small Greek salad which was also delicious and had an amazing (dairy free) sauce! I've been to this place a couple times and the service is always amazing and the food delicious!

The Greek Salad was Delicious with Great Dressing.😋 The Fried Feta wrapped in Philo Dough topped with Greek Honey and Fig Jam , Baklava and Galaktoboureko were so Yummy 😋. The Culinary Team were Friendly and Welcoming as was the Entire Staff. The Service was Excellent 👍. I Highly Recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Enjoyed a lovely evening celebrating my nephews birthday, with the family. Dinner was so delicious and took me back to Greece, in everyday. Service was attentive, warm and friendly. My guests were so pleased and my 3 yr old granddaughter, just delighted. I Highly recommend this gem of a place and will return next time, that I travel that way!

After a bad experience I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. We ordered here again solely because of proximity to us, but I can confidently say it will be the last. As someone with an allergy, I thought requesting no feta and mentioning my allergy would be enough but no. Upon delivery I saw my meal was filled with feta and unable to salvage. Additionally, another meal in our group requested no feta but was still served feta on their gyro. (No allergy but still upsetting). VERY disappointed. 0/5 do NOT recommend.

Best Greek I’ve had in the city. Great service. Great people. The gyro pork and chicken are awesome. Salad dressing is drinkable and the hummus is authentic. Amazing. I’ve been going for years and apologize it took me so long to leave this review. The best!

Google
This has been my go to Greek restaurant for years. I bring friends and get take out to bring to friends. It's a casual place and doesn't have full service during lunch on weekdays. The food is constantly excellent.

Google
I’ve considered going to this place before, but the staff is extremely rude. Even walk in front of their store and they are harassing you about the parking. God forbid you want to get a coffee from dunkin’ donuts next door and park in that parking lot. Maybe they should realize they would get more business if they were so rude and combative.

Google
I had takeout but food was delicious. 1st time eating Greek food. Definitely will come back

Yelp
I love this hidden gem of a restaurant! If you're looking for an authentic Greek restaurant with reasonable pricing, come here! Food: We got the Lamb Shank dish and Moussaka. The lamb fell off the bone beautifully, very tender and not dry at all! The sauce paired perfectly with the lamb. We got it with lemony potatoes and rice and I loved how strong the lemon flavor was on the potatoes! This was my first time having Moussaka and I loved it! The layers of cream, cheese, potato, eggplant, tomato, and beef all blended together in a beautiful harmony. Ambiance: This is a very casual, local spot. You can tell the owners are invested in the community which is so great to see! Every time I drive by this place during dinner time they are packed! Price: Prices are not bad at all. Each plate is about $20 each but comes with the entree and two sides. The Moussaka was $13 and so worth. Overall would go again (and I've gone again after my first experience already!) and everyone should check it out!

Yelp
Been craving some greek food, so decided to check out this place in Brighton. When you first walk in, you can either order takeout or dine in. We decided to eat in. I ordered the Spinach Pie Dinner which came with two sides and a greek salad. The dressing on the salad is magical. I don't know what the secret ingredient is but it's soooooo good. They actually sell bottles of it behind the counter so I decided to buy one to bring home. I heard the lady at the table behind me say she wanted to buy a bottle too. It's that good. The spinach pie filling was good too, as was the rice and green beans. They also serve a bowl of warm pita bread before your meal. Tip: dip a little into your salad dressing...you'll thank me later My friend ordered the chicken gyro and she liked it too. Our server was very friendly and attentive, and the overall vibes inside are good. They do have a private parking lot (shared with Dunkins) but it's super tiny and watching the cars come in and out of it was making me anxious. I suggest trying to find street parking. Will be back!

Yelp
I was excited to try a new Greek restaurant because even though I cook some of the food, there are not too many restaurants that I actually like but this one I liked. They had lots on the menu, but I wanted the chicken gyro. It comes with a side salad with is a plus cuz it has the best dressing I ever tasted. The chicken gyro was cooked well and very tasty. It wasn't dry like some places. My daughter ordered the spinach pie with green beans and rice as the sides. That was a tasty dish as well. The restaurant is small but very pleasant. Lovely pictures of Greece, really cozy and warm when you are there. I enjoyed it, especially being cold day. You can get some things to go like deserts, the salad dressing, which is a big plus! We bought one. I would definitely come back and try something else. So happy I came.

Yelp
The atmosphere is very authentic Greek. Nothing too fancy, great for families/groups/couples to come and enjoy a good meal. The food, however, is lightly Greek, think Greek-American food. Its great and I would love to comeback, but the authenticity of the food was not approved by the Greek-immigrants I brought here. We loved the service, atmosphere, and the food itself, it just was not very authentic. I suggest coming whenever in town. Parking is a nightmare, as its shared with the 3/4 spots Dunkin has. Highly suggest walking/Uber.

Yelp
There are so many Mediterranean spots in the city that it's easy for them to blend together in my head, but Esperia Grill is a restaurant that stands out! I tried their chicken gyro on pita ($15.35) which came with a side of Greek salad. The gyro alone is slightly cheaper at $12.05. I highly recommend getting the Greek salad side because their salad dressing is herby, garlicky, and creamy! The gyro itself was super tasty. The chicken was flavorful and had a char to it without being dry. I loved how fluffy the pita was! The bread was chewy and soaked up all the juices from the chicken without falling apart. We also got their fries ($5.45) which had this crispy battered coating that added a lot of flavor.

Yelp
For a business that has been around for what will be 17(?) years, I can see why that is. Had a fabulous time at Esperia Grill with a cherished one a few days back for our first visit. Spent about over an hour and a half here and will happily go again when I'm in the area and craving some real Greek kouzina. I got the Chicken Gyro on Pita Plate, with Butternut Squash Purée and Rice Pilaf as my sides. That came with a side Greek Salad to start also, and I was as happy as could be. Presentation was on point and the fare itself even more so! I was honestly surprised by the side salad. It was pretty refreshing and a great starter for what was to come. I really enjoyed the dressing that came with it too. As for the entrée! Awesome portion sizes, and freshly filling! Everything looked incredible! That famous combination of sweet (squash) and savory (gyro on pita and rice) was so good to me! I almost could not eat the entire thing, but I made sure to take my time. My buddy had ordered a side of fries which were goldenly crispy and delicious, and he enjoyed what he received for his entrée! We were both more than satisfied with our meal and our time together here. The working host gave the two of us more than enough time to figure out what we wanted to eat and I felt zero rush in having to order. We also got to pick out where we wanted to sit. (It was only the two of us in the restaurant at the time though, and I feel it should have been far busier for a Friday afternoon going into the evening hour.) Everyone was friendly and accommodating, willing to answer any questions we had by the look and feel of it. The staff members produced a welcoming atmosphere which was also aided by the decor and how certain areas were set up. If you want a glass of water, there's a nice looking little water dispenser station where you can pick a glass and have at it. The cutlery is also stationed there as well which is cool, especially in case you drop yours and need to get another one ASAP. As a con, some folks may not enjoy having to go get their own cutlery, and also if many others are putting their hands in there, it may not always be clean--alas, we were the only two in the restaurant, so I had zero to worry about! The establishment was neat and polished. Great lighting comes through the windows during the daytime. It was both small and spacious, if that makes sense. Zero I would change at this time, including pricing. I highly recommend Esperia Grill! Thank you~

Jim M.

Yelp
My favorite Mediterranean in Brighton. Always speedy and quality for the price. Kind staff as well.

Erin O.

Yelp
This is a cute, homey little grill with some pretty great tasting food. I ordered a chicken pita (and switched out the greek salad for some fries) which left me very full and satisfied. This isn't quite the best pita/gyro I've had before but it's still a pretty solid option. The staff were also very friendly and attentive, making it a great spot to dine-in!

Aniela J.

Yelp
Karen greeted me at the door very disrespectful, food isn't worth the price, place was empty should've been the first red flag don't waste your time and money here!

Ken S.

Yelp
Friendly service! This family knows how to create many tasty menu options! One treat is receiving their delicious saladwith their simply divine dressing that can accompany many of their meals. I find their egg lemon soup a perfect addition to their menu selections. When my husband and I have had a long day, Esperia Grill comes to our rescue. This restaurant is a Greek food treasure.

Phill M.

Yelp
I haven't been here in years but I started going there back in the 1990s when it was small shop. It always had my favorite gyros. I'm glad it survived the late great unpleasantness. Food is still great as I remembered with added varieties.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Had a super disappointing experience here. The owner is an utter hothead and should never be client-facing. If you're inattentive to your guests on a busy weekend night then you don't get to act surprised when numerous patrons get antsy and annoyed. Also, what's with the single waiter? There were literally 7 workers standing around behind the cashier doing nothing. Why can't we order from the counter and wait for our food as opposed to sitting in a seat and waiting 30 minutes for water? Baffling. The food is fine but truthfully not worth the hassle or wait.

David R.

Yelp
The menu is great especially the pork and lamb items. The service is always friendly. So friendly that I feel like part of the family.

Richard E.

Yelp
An ok deli for a fast lunch. Simple furnishings. Good shawarma hand carved when ordered. Limited deli choices. They also have a cafeteria style buffet counter with precooked selections, which I have never tried.

Ryan M.

Yelp
The chicken gyro at this place made me question what every other Greek place is doing wrong. It was incredible, so flavorful and so juicy! And the pita was done to perfection! So many other places make me walking away thinking that I hate Greek, but I'm realizing that other places are just bad. And the gyro comes with a side salad that is beautiful and has incredible dressing! I highly recommend and I'm defiantly going to be trying other things in the future!

Kate F.

Yelp
Very tasty for a reasonable price. Having a spot to easily grab water yourself is a plus in my book. It was surprisingly busy for a weekday lunch, which is always a good sign. It's one of those where you order at a counter and they bring it to you, so it feels pretty casual but still fun.

Christi L.

Yelp
My parents are Greek immigrants so I grew up with Greek food all my life. There is some great Greek food here. I would say there are more options than just Greek food, as some options where things Greeks typically don't have. However, the majority of the stuff was Greek. I got the chicken gyro and it was great. The saganaki was too die for. I also really enjoyed the sweet corn.

Denise M.

Yelp
This place had the warmth of your relatives kitchen. It smells great like roasting chicken. I had Greek salad with chicken and grape leaves. The food tasted amazing. However no server came to the table to order: maybe because of a shortage of workers. The place was empty so a higher level of service should have been provided. When I came before there was an older man who visited every table to say hello. He made me feel like family. That was no more. Not sure where that level of service went but when your place is empty a warm hello is one of the reasons we come back each time I visit Boston. Well the salad and that amazing flavorful salad dressing did not disappoint. Food- 4 star. Service and feeling welcome two stars. Please perk up to the woman and young man working it means so much to customers that only come once or twice per year!

Mark P.

Yelp
The food is always great we miss living in Brighton just to come here. We get their gyros deconstructed so the pita bread wont be soggy by the time we get home to eat it.

Skyline B.

Yelp
even if the food may be ok in regards to taste. Customer service is a horrible be kind to your paying customers

Nick M.

Yelp
Esperia is hands down the best Greek food I've ever had, no cap! At this point I don't even bother trying new Greek spots. Every time I do I think "it's not as good as Esperia" #FAX ! The pork gyro is a staple for me, and the lamb dinner is absolutely BUSSING! On god, the pastitsio is one of the best things I've ever eaten. This review wouldn't be complete without a shoutout to their salad dressing. Ive had almost everything on the menu at this point and its all fantastic, so I'm going to stop naming dishes, this place don't miss yo! On god, don't forget to try some of their deserts either.

David D.

Yelp
Greek salad was crisp and fresh. Keftedes were excellent. No lamb offered on the gyro but enjoyed the chicken - very flavorful and they give the pita a nice grilling. New to the area and this will be a "go to" spot.

Allison Z.

Yelp
Been coming here for awhile - usually for the lamb shanks and the rotisserie chicken - but today's order (takeout) is making me reconsider another visit :( The good: -size of the lamb shank! And tenderness. It was succulent. I wish there was more sauce with it. -size of the side salad that came with the meals: big hunk of tomato, several red onion rings, feta, green pepper ring, olive. -salad dressing is delicious The bad: -The green beans are definitely canned. They were mushy and grey. If it was winter , i'd let jt slide. But it's summer - vegetables are in season! -The mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box - the consistency and lack of flavor (not even black pepper!!) reminded me of a school cafeteria. I wish we hadn't ordered an extra a la carte side in addition to the portion that came with the meal, waste of money. -the spanakopita was soggy. Wish they had packed it at the last minute to keep it crisp. -falafel wrap comes in a dry white tortilla

Rob L.

Yelp
Um....YUM. Blown away by how delicious everything I tried was. Can't wait to go back and try more!! Best Greek I've had in boston hands down!

Devon K.

Yelp
WOW is all I can say! I live close by, but I don't frequent here enough. After my recent experience here, I'm going to change that! The food here is incredible. Freshly cooked right in front of you with kebab coming out steaming hot. I had the chicken gyro special wile my boyfriend had the lamb kebab special. The meat was juicy yet tender and the vegetables clearly tasted fresh. I've been to Greece and the food here is comparable to what I had in Athens. You can't beat the Greek dressing they put on their salads so make sure you get one as a side or a container of it to dip your pita bread in. Tip: come for a late lunch! Lots of locals catching up and great for people watching!

Lauren F.

Yelp
I've heard great things but wouldn't know for myself because grub hub delivered someone else's order from Halfway Cafe. An hour on hold with grub hub customer support to find out I'm shit out of luck.

Cheryl C.

Yelp
Rotisserie chicken was on target! Horitake salad was perfect, and I wasn't expecting a lot for spinach pie, but it was pretty good!

A. L.

Yelp
What a wonderful little place! Such a good experience when dining in for the first time recently, and some truly delicious food! The kind of place I will return to when I crave my beloved greek food! Can't stress enough how nice the waiter was and how delicious our meals were, plus we saved room for some baklava and it didn't disappoint!

Dan S.

Yelp
This popular Greek restaurant has a small dining room and mostly does a huge takeout business. They delivery with GrubHub quickly, even earlier than the estimated time given. Greek restaurants are known for their lamb dishes so I went with the lamb kabobs with sides of mashed potatoes and butternut squash puree. Their dinner specials also give you a small Greek salad. The salad was good including their creamy dressing but there was only one olive. The food arrived hot which is great. The lamb was very chewy and ended up getting tossed even though I hate to waste food. The two side dishes were great. The portions are huge. My family had dined here before covid-19 and had raved about it. Espseria was a disappointment and I don't think I will be back.

Kayla H.

Yelp
Horrible food poisoning! My family and I became horribly I'll after eating here. I was hospitalized for three days.

Kyana F.

Yelp
Every time I get a salad I end up with lettuce brines as all of the lettuce. I paid $15.45 for this Greek salad and prices go up often. One of the men, I'm assuming the owner is also not pleasant. He's yelled at my friend for picking up her to-go order that she already paid for when nobody had helped her for 5 minutes. He wouldn't let me PAY for a side of Greek dressing and made me buy a whole bottle. The food isn't bad but the service is and so is the lettuce weirdly enough.

Jocelyne D.

Yelp
I would rate this higher than 5 stars if I could! The worst thing about this place is that it is not walking distance from my house. The fried feta with fig & honey and the chicken gyro were so tasty! I just moved here, and I'll admit I already can't wait to go back! Portion 5/5 Value 5/5 Taste 5/5 Menu 5/5

Big N.

Yelp
Just fabulous! The food is cooked to order and has so much flavor! Staff works very hard to please I've been coming here for years , since it opened the owner Tim and the staff are just awesome ! A must if you like real Greek lamb, lemon potatoes and gyro also , desserts are awesome, food is fresh and homemade ! Not a fast food pizza place so it takes a few minutes for them to cook your order or you can call ahead it's well worth visiting ! Thanks for another great meal!

Sarah T.

Yelp
So good! Been here a few times with friends and have gotten takeout a few times and the kabob dinners never disappoint. The roasted eggplant and spinach pies are also excellent. Everyone was super nice.

Vanessa A.

Yelp
Favorite Greek restaurant in town!!! Real greek salads are amazing, and they got the authentic homemade greek salad dressing here!!! Their dips are amazing, pretty much everything here is really, really good. I don't usually sing praises unless they are earned, and this place went from a pizza shop to a legitimate authentic Greek restaurant. I miss their pizza, but the spinach pie more than makes up for it. This is one place that hasn't cut corners on quality like other restaurants nowadays. The family really makes this restaurant pop to life. Try the pastichio and mousaka, you can't go wrong! Again, best Greek spinach pie I've ever had in my life!!! I wish I could leave the smell of the restaurant on here!!! Delicious no matter if you're a vegetarian or a carnivore!! When someone is in Brighton for the first time, I take them here. It doesn't fail!!

Meaghan G.

Yelp
horrible interaction with the wait staff. completely unfriendly and rude. wouldn't recommend.

Sus L.

Yelp
Love their lamb shank dinner and Greek salad. Their salad dressing is the best. This has been a favorite spot for a while, and they still got it.

Howard F.

Yelp
Great Greek food. The rotisserie chicken is a favorite in my family. The sides are also tasty l.

Ari H.

Yelp
Several people, both on and off Yelp, suggested that I order a Greek salad with pork gyro. I recently did that. We all know what a Greek salad should include: romaine or iceberg lettuce, with tomatoes, cucumbers, black olives, and feta cheese. The pork gyro was cooked well, and it was tasty. This salad does not disappoint. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because I've had other Greek salads with gyro such as from the Farm Grill in Newton Highlands, that are tastier to me.

Simon R.

Yelp
Great food, but bad COVID practices. None of the employees wear masks, and the guy who packs the take-out doesn't even wear gloves! During a pandemic! Sorry, but I can't go back, it's a health hazard.

Alisa C.

Yelp
Fresh, friendly, and well worth supporting this business. I've visited several times since I've been in the area and I keep coming back.

James D.

Yelp
Great service, great vegan options, and hope they add more. Now my second favorite Greek spot in Boston after Littleburg in Somerville (all vegan)!

Andrew D.

Yelp
Very traditional Greek food.....Best chicken gyro I've had! I also tasted the lamb shank and it was delicious. Cooked to perfection and falling off the bone!

Stephen E.

Yelp
Someone is doing something right in the kitchen. For spinach pies (spanakopita), Esperia is simply the best. We have had Greek food in other places in Boston and in other towns, and no one has lighter, flakier or fresher-tasting spinach pies than Esperia - they even reheat well in a toaster oven. We are fans of their hummus and eggplant salad as well. We tried their whole marinated chicken from the rotisserie and found it really delicious. And they are very generous with their excellent pita. We have always been so satisfied with these basics that we've never gone beyond them, but other reviewers speak to other dishes. Parking can be a challenge, so know your options in Brighton Center before you decide to drive there. Even so, this little place is a gem

Nikolai K.

Yelp
Excellent Greek restaurant! I've been here twice within one week, first time for a work-related lunch and second just with Christie L. The portions here are huge, but don't let that fool you - the quality of the food is also superb. Both times I ordered the chicken gyro on Greek salad. Absolutely huge plate, the first time it was just me eating it after having some appetizers (which were all very delicious - we had a Greek fried cheese dish and the garlic dip with pita bread, both of which were awesome). I don't know how I was almost able to finish the chicken gyro salad after that. Christie L and I split it and it was the perfect amount of food for the both of us. Definitely looking forward to coming back here again and trying some more things.

Michael T.

Yelp
My first time at Esperanto Grill with our good friends, was welcomed the owners that also took our order, cooked, serviced it and made our experience memorable....we highly recommend this place and will be sure to spread the word to others!

Jessica S.

Yelp
I love the rotisserie chicken and potatoes ... delicious and unlike anything I've had around Boston

Rita A.

Yelp
This place should work on customer service. I was helped by a woman in a red chef jacket. Maybe owner who knows. Very harsh with her tone of voice almost seemed unhappy to be there. I'd have to remind you paying customers make your business grow. It would be much appreciated that you treat your customers with a bit more of kindness. I will however give this place a 5 star for their food. But customer service will keep me away.

Alexa S.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I ordered the pork and chicken gyros, side of rice & fries, and the meal came with a side salad. The service was truly great. The music playing was also really good. We got cookies to go but wasn't my favorite thing I ordered. We definitely want to come back again and try more items because the food was delicious. Place was also very clean.

Young P.

Yelp
I drove by this place many many many times and I finally decided to give it a try with the wife. When we entered, we were greeted right away and given the option to choose whatever table we wanted. Once seated, we looked through the menu and decided to give the following a try: Falafels: $1.50/piece and it is very small but DEFINITELY WORTH THE TRY! Very unique flavor that I haven't tasted in any other falafels that I have had in the past Fries: Omg. You wouldn't think a Greek restaurant would be amazing at making fries but this place is an exception. I was blown away by how good their fries were. Super super super crispy and every bite made that "crunch" sound. Lamb kebab w/ two sides: I love lamb so I might be biased but I really loved the portion and the side dishes were so freaking delicious. Salad was on point, rice was cooked to perfection, and those grilled veggies were on the money Chicken gyro: They give you a LOT OF MEAT. They don't hold back. Seasoned to perfection and the bread....omg.....I am drooling as I am thinking about that gyro. I'm so sad it took me so long to give this place a try. I am definitely coming back here more often!
