So nice to come back to visit my hometown and enjoy a meal here. The portions are large! And they even take special requests like a double grilled cheese. The Greek salad could feed 5. The eggplant parm hit the spot. We loved the entertaining staff too! Good banter and good fun. 👍❤️👍

I travel all over the country and it's always a pleasure to find little treasures along the way. My family and I blew like a whirlwind just as they were closing the kitchen and they took our order anyway, seated us and made us feel like we were at home. If I had more than five stars, I'd give it .

Delicious food, large menu. The most amazing service! Decent prices for kosher food too.

Not much to look at, but the best fries I've had in years. We had the taco wraps, and enjoyed them very much as well. Very friendly. Very fresh food.

Me and my kids are visiting Philly for the first time so we were looking for Kosher options so we came to Espresso cafe for the first time and even though from the outside, it does not look like a very nice place I can tell you that the food is amazing. Better than any other kosher restaurants by far!!! Service is good and Yoram was great and took really great care of us. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
This place is unmatched for service with an incredible mom & pop vibes with great food. You come here and feel like one of the family. Special shoutout to Yoram for making us feel at home. I’m definitely coming back. P.S Thick crust japaleno pizza was phenomenal. Off the menu special.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely incredible, the penne vodka is one of the best I've had in a long time. The staff are incredibly helpful and go above and beyond with their service. They offered to stay late in order to allow me to finish my meal. The atmosphere is very welcoming, I will be recommending this place to anyone and everyone.

Yelp
Again I must say that I had lunch yesterday and had their homemade French fries and their pizza. They started using a new crust and it was amazing. It was light and the cheese and sauce was great. More people should come out and support this restaurant. It is a treasure right here in the Northeast. Lois Yampolsky

Yelp
Our new go-to for kosher food when driving between Virginia and New York. Food was delicious, clearly made with quality ingredients, and certainly stands out. Manager was extremely friendly and you can tell he cares deeply about his customers. He kept the restaurant open late just for us because we needed kosher food but couldn't get to Philadelphia before the kitchen was scheduled to close. Even threw in extra free drinks. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The menu offers many great choices. We (me and 5 children) were treated incredibly kindly. The food was all fresh and very tasty (especially loved the giant Greek salad) and the portions were very generous. Yoram made us feel so welcome! Visiting from out of town, we hope to go back soon!

Yelp
I tried the sabich and it was delicious. Pure artisanry. Yarm was very kind and took genuine interest in the needs of the customers. Small, unique establishments like these are true gems compared to the big wig corporate powerhouses. I intend to come back and explore more of the menu.

Yelp
I love this place. We were greeted warmly and seated very quickly. Despite the slow service initially the food is AMAZING. They have the best falafel I have ever tasted and the pizza was delicious. The fries are made in house and you can tell they are delicious. I would definitely come back next time I'm in philly.

Yelp
I like to try and support Israeli businesses when I can, but this place leaves me no choice but to hammer it. It's filthy--we sat next to a cart loaded with dirty trays and empty, used food jars, the kitchen door was open and looked like a mess. One person in our party ordered salmon Mediterranean style and received a dried out piece of fish swimming in some yellow liquid with a couple of pieces of diced tomato. I ordered the Mediterranean Platter, which came with blackened, tasteless falafel, hummus that was sticky and dry with too much tahini and a slightly greasy cucumber-tomato salad. It was missing some of the items advertised on the platter, but honestly, we didn't mind (we also asked for fava beans, which were heavily advertised on the menu, but they didn't have any). It's sort of like the old Jewish joke: "Waiter, this food is terrible, and the portions! So small!"

Yelp
Incredibly good food, excellent/attentive service. After a couple of days of having less than stellar meals at other local kosher places, my kids asked for something better, we ordered all different parts of the menu; pastas, pizza, wraps even waffles and it was all excellent.

Yelp
Went into this restaurant with high expectations and even higher recommendations. Easily the worst culinary experience ever. First, the waiter stood dumbstruck when we asked for coffee. He blankly said.." I do not know how to make coffee." We actually thought he was kidding, but his slackjawed repetition of the same phrase indicated that he indeed did now know how to make the mysterious beverage know as coffee. Cheese blintzes ordered...NO CHEESE, the menu says that is comes with strawberries.... No strawberries in sight. When the OWNER was asked, he said No fresh strawberries,,, that was it. He then asked if we wanted syrup on it..... We asked for a banana instead, he yelled, Do you want me to cut it for you? Gets way way better. The fallafel plate arrived with a few of the menu advertised ingredients missing. I will admit it was tasty even though the portions were so small it was a joke, for the bargain price of $10!!!!! We had to ask twice for water with lukewarm water showed up eventually.... Ice is apparently an endangered species in this restaurant. When I went to pay for said ridiculous lunch, I was asked by the owner what did I had. I listed the items along with the missing cheese and bits and pieces missing from my allaged falaffel platter. His response???? $28.50, exactly what the menued price was.. No apology, no nothing... No tip. Beware people, this guy clearly does not care at all about repeat business. Perhaps another line of business should be considered by the owner for alleged restaurant.

Yelp
Nice menu with broad range of choices Everything we've had has been very tasty! Enjoyed the Sabich! Owner and staff very friendly and helpful and prices are good. Go and enjoy! We have been impressed.

Yelp
I'm trying to remember whether I've ever had a worse experience. The food was plain nasty. We had a party of 3 and ordered 4 dishes plus coffee. The dishes consisted of bland, unsalted noodles with a bit of some funky sauce. Barely edible if you are up to eating plain boiled noodles at a restaurant with waiter service that charges a premium. The person who ordered sushi said that it tasted stale. Maybe, it was missing most ingredients? Maybe, you just need to hire a cook? I won't waste time on describing the (lack of) ambiance. The tables shake so badly that your drinks aren't safe on them. The waiter tried to be friendly - I'll give him that, but walking around and tapping and petting customers is crossing the line. Cleanliness is not a strong suit of this establishment. We got water from an old disposable bottle that was gross. Ice on a summer day? Not in this place... The waiter doubles as a cleaning person, and he was sorting dirty dishes in a plastic pan at the table next to ours. That was beyond gross and off-putting, as we were trying to ingest the food that didn't look much better. Was he washing hands between handling the trash, sorting dirty dishes, and handling your food? You can guess that yourself.

Yelp
Delicious falafel, hummus, salads, and onion soup. The hot chocolate was made from scratch and was really good as well. Service was efficient and friendly. Highly recommend. They are open late on Saturday night too.

Yelp
Espresso is Delicious kosher food with the best service! The owner makes you feel as comfortable as you would eating at home with all the luxury of eating out at a restaurant. The tortellini, stuffed baked potatoes, Thai noodles, milk shakes and French onion soup are a few of our favorites. This is our family's favorite spot to meet up and eat and it is extremely kid friendly! Our toddler and pre schooler love the pasta and getting ice cream for dessert. Espresso is a great experience every time!

Yelp
The greek salads, falafel, and cheese cakes are among the best I've ever had.

Yelp
It was my birthday today and my friend and assistant in work treating me for lunch. We ordered shakshuka and if was fantastic. It was amazing.

Eli P.

Yelp
I'm from NY and the pizza here was better!!! If you like fluffy crust, this is the place to be. Also, I was very impressed, I ordered French onion soup but they didn't have enough for a full bowl so they gave me whatever they had left FOR NO CHARGE. overall great food and great experience.

Yelp
Had dinner tonight with wife and friend and enjoyed a Middle Eastern-seasoned vegetable soup. Followups, around the table, included eggplant parmigiana, Thai noodles, fried jumbo whole tilapia. First - was exactly my way: each slice lightly breaded and baked, then loaded with cheese and sauce - perfect. Thai noodles was a whopping plate of noodles, peanuts, vegetables and chili sauce - enough heat to be tasty but not so much to turn off tender mouths. Lastly, the fish was tastily seasoned/breaded with steamed vegetables - chose not to have fries to keep the carbs down. Service was excellent - friendly, quick, without being overbearing.

Yelp
There is no reason to "soak" the patrons just because you are a "kosher" restaurant. Filthy place, service sucks, food not as represented. No redeeming qualities. Go elsewhere.

Yelp
Sweet mother of God the sushi here SUCKS. It was not fresh, the tuna was gray/pink, and rolls were falling apart and sucked. Best sushi in Northeast? No friggin way. To Kai and Wasabi and Makiman all hands down kick this places ass. Shit, the sushi at the supermarket is better...

Joanna W.

Yelp
This is a Kosher restaurant and of all the restaurants my company uses for catering, this is by far the best. I don't eat sushi nor have I tried there's so I cannot comment on that. I love their salmon, Greek salad, wraps, and borek. Really very delicious. I don't eat Kosher, but I would choose to eat Espresso's great meals any time!

Yelp
I almost never write reviews but I was blown away by the superior service I received today. I called with a very last minute request to deliver a few kosher pizzas and salads to my daughter's birthday party that was taking place well out of this restaurant's delivery area. Our need for kosher food had me desperately calling every place I could possibly think of with no luck due to the fact that we live very far out of the Philadelphia area. Without hesitation the owner took my order and they delivered a couple of beautiful and delicious salads as well as some very tasty pizzas! They saved the day and the food was amazing. All the guests were raving about the unique salads and couldn't stop eating them. The pizzas were great too. Even the delivery woman was gracious and extremely friendly and lovely as she wished us good luck on my daughter's birthday. What a great way to do business. I highly recommend!

Yelp
The food was ok. Not terrible but not great. The service however is pathetic. Don't ever go there hungry or with more than 2 people in your party. Each person will be served at different times and the first person served will wait atleast an hour. The one waiter will explain to you that he is not really a waiter but only there to help out his friend the owner. No shame and no apologies for the horrible service.

Yelp
We came as a family for a Sunday lunch/brunch while in the area for other reasons. The staff immediately setup a table for us as we walked in. We ordered and were given drinks timely before ordering a variety of food ranging from French toast to mozzarella sticks to tuna fish to barrakahs. I found the restaurant to be pretty clean and did not see the issues pointed out in other reviews. With kids we did not mind that the food came out as it was ready. However, my wife received her meal well after everyone else. My French toast was one of the first meals and was not fully cooked making it just edible. The eggplant parm and mozzarella sticks were a hit. I do not think the barrakahs were worth the long wait. The waiter was extremely friendly and seemed to care very much about us being happy. We were in a hurry so I did not want to detour to discuss any of our issues. We needed to eat and run.
