Yelp
This has become one of my favorite coffee shops, not only around the UO campus, but in Eugene in general.
Staff: Cool af and they habla español. I clearly don't, but if you do, they seem really friendly to chat with you, regardless of fluency level. (Also friendly and will chat in English, to clarify. As stated above: the staff are cool af.) I try to say thanks in Spanish but my accent sucks and I am embarrassed.
Food: always delicious and reasonably priced. I've yet to meet a pastry from their case that I haven't liked. Whether sweet or savory, everything is huge, lovely looking, and delicious. Their cream cheese pastry thingy easily bests Starbucks' version, in size, flavor, and freshness. Probably also price, though I haven't done a price comparison.
Coffee/espresso: I'm a broke ass college student, so I stick to house coffee and can't vouch for the rest of their beverages. What I can say is this: 1. Drinks are all super affordable here. 2. Their house coffee is actually good and definitely well caffeinated. I normally hate house coffee and get americanos everywhere else and disguise the flavor by adding embarrassing amounts of splenda or stevia, when available, and creamer. Not here! I add a [heaping] teaspoon of brown sugar, and a big dash of cinnamon, and cream. Freaking delicious and even a small (8oz) cup is usually plenty to get me going!
Ambience, etc: Can usually hear classical music playing overhead. Tons of seating in a sprawling layout. Plenty of spots to plug devices in, and free wifi. Tables and chairs are generic. The place is obviously frequented and loved by regulars who are often greeted upon arrival.
Here's what you won't find here: Coffee snobbery, pretentious decor, corporate vibes, and/or white ladies screeching at the manager. (I mean, I'm white, but I try to keep my screeching under wraps.)
I come here often, but forget to check in. Wanted to write a review in support of a great local business.
