Essington Farm

The farm was open for picking strawberries and a few varieties of plums. The shop is great for buying fresh produce, and the fresh milkshakes were excellent. It was a nice experience; however, the place could be improved further to attract more visitors.

Mixed reviews. We went strawberry picking in the summer which was great and good fun. Went back for pumpkin picking however only two weeks in and the pumpkin field was nearly bare, so we left without and purchased one from a supermarket. Price of a large pumpkin is £12, same price from a supermarket is under £3, also from a British farm. Add on top an entry fee it’s a nearly £20 pumpkin.

Dear Essington Farm Team, I am writing to express my disappointment with the chicken products I purchased from your farm recently. I chose to buy from a local farm specifically to support local producers and to provide better quality, naturally raised meat for my children. During my visit, I purchased 3kg of chicken breast, a whole chicken, and chicken carcasses. The meat was frozen upon returning home. However, after defrosting the chicken breasts, I was extremely concerned by their size and appearance. The breasts were unusually large to the point of being unnatural, resembling mass-produced commercial chicken rather than farm-raised poultry. This was very surprising and disappointing, particularly given your positioning as a farm selling quality, responsibly raised meat. Based on what I received, I do not believe the chicken breasts reflect the standards I expected from a local farm, and I feel misled by the product sold to me. This experience has left me with no confidence in the quality or sourcing of the meat. I would appreciate an explanation regarding the breed, feeding practices, and farming methods used for these chickens, and I would also like to know how you intend to address this issue.

Wow best pork I've ever had hands down. All their pork range and butchery is amazing. We live in Devon but I'm from new invention, and my family use these guys regularly, but every time I'm visiting I make sure I pop here to stock up on sausages, bacon and espeytheor belly pork. Chefs kiss 😘

Took parents for afternoon tea 4 adults I found this a little bit pricey to be honest so £26 each person, although nice sandwiches wonderful selection of cakes and endless tea or coffee just feel it should be slightly cheaper maybe around £16 / £20 pp

Went for Christmas Meal. Not impressed. No atmosphere for an evening restaurant. No music being played at all. Meal very poor for the price. A 4* hotel nearby offers far better value for money. Starter was basic, main meal was badly presented. Huge chunk of parsnip, dry carrots and pale roast potatoes. Sprouts were served separately topped with bacon. Personal preference is sprouts served as sprouts only. Didn't have dessert. Overall opinion, I've had better. Final note. Take a torch. No lighting on the car park. Pitch black.

the Farm Shop is the real magnet. It’s award-winning for a reason—the butchery counter is massive, and they specialize in their own free-range pork and Hereford beef. I also wandered through the Pick Your Own (PYO) fields; in the summer, the strawberry tunnels are buzzing, and by October, the pumpkin patches are huge. There’s a real "field-to-fork" energy here, especially when you see the tractors trundling past with fresh crates of veg.

This has a reasonable sized farm shop selling very fresh and local produce from their own fields, herds and nearby. Very good. The restaurant is big and sells beautiful food suitable for most diets. The pick your own area is huge and well established. Great for a trip out and a meal.

The Essington fruit farm it the BEST place to buy all of your fruit and veg they have a wide range of food well other than fruit that's a no brainer they have Garvey and all sorts off meat they also have a great view for all of you vegetarians out there they have cabbage,carrot,strawberries,black berries but other than all of this if your around and you need some food please visit this amazing place.

A great local resource. Plenty of pick your own choice. Can be pricey though.

This has to be the best fruit farm i have visited. It has a huge range of fruit and vegetables you can pick yourself including strawberrys, raspberrys, gooseberrys, plums, blackcurrants, cauliflowers, broccoli, sweetcorn just too many to mention. It also has a lovely shop which sells meat, pies, jams, bread all at very reasonable prices. They have rabbits and guinea pigs which keep the children interested. Lots of parking i would really recommend a visit.
