"The concept is ‘a place that weaves a tale of an encounter between earth and sea’. ESTERRE expresses the terroir of Japan through the supervision of Alain Ducasse, a legend of the gastronomic world. Entrusted with the kitchen is Kei Kojima, who conjures fare that is both healthful and flavourful. Vegetables, selected in the markets of Kamakura, are colourful and fresh. Ingredients wreathed in the fragrance of a charcoal flame display a quintessentially Japanese approach." - Michelin Inspector

Came here for dinner on our last day in Tokyo and very happy we did as it was a great way to end our trip. The best food and service. We did the 7 signature course set menu + champagne and it was so worth the splurge. Every bite was incredible. The view and the atmosphere were perfect as well.

French cuisine in Japan really doesn’t disappoint! I was pleasantly impressed as soon as I walked into the dinning room— that lighting and the view of the Imperial Palace Garden. Every dish was delicate and delicious. The only disappointment maybe was the duck, just a bit chewy. The usage of different veggies and herbs was impressive as well, great combinations! Not to mention bread service was awesome, loved the buckwheat bread the most, and the Hokkaido butter, was so tempted to have more bread!

Quite impressed with the overall quality of food - I've always been disappointed by European fine dining in Asia - always found something was missing or the overall "fusion" was weird and overwhelming. Esterre is on par with what you can get in Paris / London michelin restaurants. Japanese ingredients were also cleverly used in the menu. The Kobe beef dish was top notch too. I really enjoyed the meal thank you! What an experience to "experience" the Japanese service. I haven't seen a table being served by so many people before in Europe! Thank you for the nice little touch of the Birthday chocolate plate. Made my day.

Everything about Esterre was amazing. My fiance and I had an amazing experience eating here. Adel our waiter, was excellent in explaining the food we were having and attending our needs. I highly recommend Esterre to anyone looking for an experience in eating food in its own higher calibre.

Truly a high-class Michelin Star Restaurant! Service is impeccable, with both Japanese and (fluent) English speaking staff as well (and I suspect French too 😊). Well prepare and balanced meals with a great presentation. The biggest surprise were the desserts. Finally, a dessert that is not overly sweet, just the right amount of enjoyment. And the artistly of the deserts is out of this world, with pearls from white chocolate with coconut and yuzu-based fillings, presented in an oyster shell, and hand made chocolate shaped like a mushroom with minutia details, presented on a moss bed. While all the dishes were great, our kudos goes to the pâtissier of Esterre! Do not cave to the pressure of making the desserts sweeter than they already are!

Google
a pleasant dinner. I could recommend to my friends who want to taste a delicate french with Japanese touch in Tokyo. Surely qualified for Micheline stars.

Esterre is a perfect tutorial on what fine dining is (or should be). Calming views of the Imperial Palace grounds, seamless orchestration of service, a beautifully contemporary dining room, and cooking that deserves a second Michelin star. In a city full of excellent dining options, Esterre is a great choice to celebrate any special occasion.

I've just propose to my girlfriend and it was the most amazing atmosphere ever. This place is incredible under all aspects. The magnificent view on the imperial palace and garden makes a perfect frame for a dining experience one of a kind. You can choose between 1, 2, or 3 courses Menù, with wine pairing from the sommelier. (I suggest the 3 course menù, it was just incredible) The strength of this restaurant is the combination between regional and seasonal ingredients from the Japanese territory and the French cuisine. A lot of research has been put into the realisation of each plates, from the Amuse-bouche to the desserts, and the serving of each plate itself: the waiters were so well synchronised and nice beyond imagination. The price Is a one star Michlen, Ducasse restsurant.
