Since I moved to Portland in November 2017, I kept hearing about Esther’s Pantry. I live in NW Portland and felt it was too far. This past Thursday on February 20,2020 I finally made the effort and was blessed. I was a newbie and the volunteers were extremely busy.Mark was my volunteer and despite it being near the end of the day, Mark explained everything you need to know when you visit. His undivided attention to detail and patience was above and beyond. So glad I made the trip. JUST LOOK how much food is in my freezer and refrigerator. Thanks Mark for restoring my faith in humanity. We need to all vote blue!!

I enjoy coming here, I enjoy the many years of continuous conversation I have between the workers! Also it’s in a perfect neighborhood… trees..😀 ! I enjoy coming this so make through the month.

Both Esther's pantry and Todd's corner do amazing and much needed services to the community. My only issue is the fact that Esther's used to cater to the LGBTQ community who are HIV+. It seems that now they have clients that are not in that group of people. And services have suffered quite a bit since that change has been implemented.

Thank you so much for your service and your very kind staff. It's been a tough year & your generosity exceeds expectations. 😊 I also want to thank whomever it was that helped me out when I ran out of gas as I parked my car. I obviously didn't realise I was so low, or in this case, out of gas. I hadn't gotten that low before, ie.. to where my gas light came on. Well, I know now and it's not far if at all. To all those, like me that thought maybe, "E" stood for ENOUGH, it doesn't, it REALLY means EMPTY! 🤔(I can laugh now. 😊 Anyway again, I thank whomever helped me out that evening & for putting the confidence back in me, that I had come close to totally losing my belief in thoughtful & caring people, I want you to know I will be paying it forward of any kind of a special & warm deed(s) as I'm able to as I never want anyone to feel the panic I felt when I realised I wasn't able to reach anyone to help me and how serious the situation was. You made me cry happy tears and I hadn't had that experience in a very long time!! May God bless & keep you ALWAYS!!

I arrived at 2:23 on Wednesday- they are open until 3. I was told 13 minutes after I arrived that they are full up. So I guess somewhere it should be posted that we must arrive when they open for help. I drive from Salem where I was working to get here on time. What a waste of gas and time.

Good amount of food and a good variety but ridiculous wait times.

This wonderful charitable group treat members of the community with dignity and respect. Established to provide help to people with HIV, they don't ask many questions and will provide help to anyone who asks. This is not some wimpy bag of old bread and canned soup either, fresh veggies and 10 lbs of meat were the star of the show. Thank you for the services you provide.

Great resource for those in need. Be prepared to revive a lot of food. Public transportation is accessable however, open times are usual right during rush hour. Founding on where in Portland you live, this might be a matter of you do not have your own car out access to one.
