Estrada’s Texas BBQ Review - South Austin - Austin - The Infatuation

"Estrada’s Texas Barbecue is a trailer parked outside at the Wilhite’s Country Corner store/Valero in Creedmoor, TX, a small town just south of Austin. They’re doing very solid barbecue, Tex-Mex, and breakfast tacos (starting at 6am). So you’ll find standard barbecue like brisket, ribs, and turkey, but you’ll also find things like carne guisada tacos, chopped brisket quesadillas, and specials like a smoked pork chop. photo credit: Raphael Brion" - Raphael Brion

Disregard the sauce in sauce in the photo. I did the brisket disrespect by getting it that close. The brisket was moist and pull apart tender. It held together just enough to make this sandwich delicious. The post oak used wasn’t overwhelming and was nicely seasoned. It was fatty, but not overly greasy. They used what seemed like a Hawaiian bun which was great. Their onions were pickled and added a nice touch to the brisket. Not pictured is the sausage I was given. The regular was great and the jalapeño & cheese was delicious. Had my friend not pick this quaint unassuming food truck I would’ve never had given this place a try. Good food, great story behind the restaurant and close proximity to COTA, I can’t ask for more.

Please, please, please don't miss this! The food was so good I actually cried. Best brisket I have ever had. Tender, flavorful even without any sauce, and super pepper-encrusted. It was fantastic. Both the regular sausage and jalapeño cheese sausage were incredible. Enjoyed the BBQ sauce. And we got four sides - potato salad, beans, cucumber salad and bacon green beans. They were all amazing. The most interesting cucumber salad I have ever had -- so very yummy. Generous portions. Plus, the folks were so sweet. I am happy to give people like that my business. We were at COTA for the weekend and the food truck was super convenient. Just a few minutes away by car. Again, don't miss this!

The sides at Estrada's are WORTH the drive and EVERY.SINGLE. PENNY. OMG. I mean the cucumber salad is PHENOMENAL. The green beans? At another culinary level, seriously. The actual BBQ is just spectacular. It is a husband & wife team doing it all, out of this little food trailer and I'm telling you now - you can taste the love and care in every bite. If you love to go to off the beaten path to hopefully get rewarded by finding a hidden treasure - you will know you've found one when you taste this food. Now go forth and get messy!

Seriously some of the best breakfast tacos I've ever had! Their chorizo is the most flavorful and the barbacoa is so tender and juicy!!! My favourite place before work! The homemade salsa is super good too! What I don't use in my tacos, I save it for food at home. Very tasty! Estradas customer service is top notch as well. They take three time to make sure you have three best experience possible. P.S. -04June2020, saw the sign, hope you guys are all ok!

I was driving by when I saw this place and decided to pull in and read the reviews. I had barbacoa tacos and a big red with a side of cucumber salad. The barbacoa was exceptional and the cucumber salad was as good as advertised. Great prices at this friendly, family-run business. Looking forward to my next visit!

They have the most delicious bbq!! I LOVE the loaded tater salad, and all of the meat is juicy and muy sabroso. Me encanta!! Local and living their dream. They tend to sell out by 2, so go early!
