"Sunset Strip restaurant Estrella has a new feel to it these days, ever since being taken over by the K2 restaurant group. Now the place is focusing on all things Spanish, following a year as an Italian chophouse and, before that, a pan-LA place for all kinds of unique creations under then-chef Dakota Weiss." - Farley Elliott

Our local restaurant. Great place to chill out with friends during any meal. Beautiful patio, friendly service and great food. We get the cauliflower hummus every time we are there. These pictures are from the brunch menu. ***August 2017 update*** A new chef and menu have arrived at Estrella. The menu is now Italian so lots of risotto and pasta. The food was good, not better than before. The previous menu offered more variety. The decor worked better with the previous menu too as the new Italian menu comes with a heftier price tag but doesn't feel like a fancy Italian restaurant. The cod braised in milk (yes, I know it may sound weird to some) was delicious. A bit sad that Estrella can no longer be a casual, weeknight neighborhood dinner option for us.

I would start with the ambience, very pleasant outdoor seating, the greens, and the interior decoration- a lot of art involved from 70s deco to abstract. The waiters and waitresses are very appropriate and attentive, I rarely see that at venues in Los Angeles. The food was also good, the dressings were interesting although the ingredients were simple but the presentation made it all an amazing experience. The sngaria cofktails are pretty strong and fresh, the French toast was it treat!

The food was really good and the prices were ok but it was dead on the Friday night that we went. I think what they need is to keep the tapas menu but add a few options for individual meals. We couldn't find many that sounded great for both of us. More meat options would help as well. The Pancho Villa was one of the best drinks I have had though so definitely order that.

Absolutely loved this place. This was my first time in LA and I just so happened to stumble upon this gem. The atmosphere and service was VERY classy and top notch. Definitely the establishment to attend if you want to impress. The best part was the mimosas and the candies bacon. Must haves!

The food was good...service was cool BUT after the food arrived, service stopped checking on the table. Also, why have bottomless Sangria as an option, but if I want to try the white wine sangria after having the red why is it an extra charge?! Had the waiter not said the red was better, I would've gotten the white. Its bottomless, it's during my 2 hour window...why not let me try the other one? #VarietyIsTheSpiceOfLife

This place serves magical flavors, and there are some inventive twists on dishes. Love that it's all seasonal fresh and local. I can't wait to come back. The ambiance is warm, comfortable and romantic. The service is good and the food is incredible. Great cocktails, too.

Eclectic, 1960s-1970s retro decor including high back wicker chairs, orange velvet couches, colored bottles, abstract art, mosaic decorated fountain, string art, abstract art, decoupage collage chairs - all in an open space with hanging plants, patio seating perfect for people watching and enjoying a meal with family and friends. Estrella is dedicated to the spirit of Joni Mitchell and other Ladies Of The Canyon - female entertainers who lived in Laurel Canyon during late 1960s and early 1970s. The menu changes here daily, so you never know what your choices will be until you arrive. However, the weekend brunch is pretty much the same, including cheeseboards, salads, avocado toast, salmon bagels, quiche, French Toast - you can even get steak and eggs if you fancy that. My favorite brunch item is an on and off season dish called "The Rolling Stone" - bacon wrapped avocado with poached egg, queso fresco and heirloom tomatoes. Scrumptious! I was very pleased with the food, service, friendly staff and the environment. The egg in The Rolling Stone was poached perfectly, each bite a wonderful taste sensation. I had the opportunity to visit the Speak Easy room in the back of the restaurant, which is a meeting room/cocktail lounge with orange velvet couches, mosaic rectangle tables, abstract art suspended lighting, lyric and other books and patio with fireplaces and heat lamps, all decorated in 1970s style. The Speak Easy is available to rent for private parties, just check their website for details. You should be advised of several things before you visit. 1. As of July 2018, the restaurant is under new management, so if you visited recently and were not pleased with one thing or another, you may want to try it again! 2, Valet Parking. Open Table states that on weekends, valet parking is $4 or $6. This is not the case, the valet service charges full rate 7 days per week. Because of the misinformation, the Manager comped one of the Endless Mimosas. There is street parking in the area if you do not wish to pay for valet. 3. This restaurant adheres to West Hollywood restaurant practice of adding an additional 3% gratuity which is used to help pay for staff health insurance. It is not mandatory, so if you do not wish to pay it, you may have it taken off your bill. I had a wonderful experience here. I will return again to not only enjoy The Rolling Stone, but to also enjoy the afternoon at a patio table to people watch. I truly felt taken back in time to the era and the women the restaurant intended to honor.
