"I learned that Etabli's general manager Dylan DelliSanti has created a sentimental, limited “Thank You for Being a Friend” cocktail menu at the Bloomingdale bar (84 T Street NW), inspired by watching The Golden Girls as a child and sparked by Betty White’s passing. For the next few months each cast member—Rose, Blanche, Dorothy, and Sophia—gets a $14 on‑brand cocktail: White’s “St. Olaf” daiquiri features aquavit made in her home state and $1 from each purchase will be donated to the Humane Rescue Alliance through January; Blanche’s is a South Beach spin on a Sex on the Beach (vodka, peach schnapps, grenadine, and rosemary) topped with a colorful umbrella; Dorothy’s “Shady Pines, Ma!” is a Manhattan-style bourbon coupe with a Maraschino cherry; and Sophia’s “Sicily, 1922” is a Negroni-like mix of Cappelletti aperitif, gin, dry vermouth and a Marseille amaro from Brooklyn. A fifth dessert drink, “Cheesecake in the Kitchen,” made with coconut cream rum and a graham cracker rim is said to taste like a key lime pie. DelliSanti also bought a Golden Girls tarot deck and says he’ll happily attempt tarot readings after 9 p.m. when someone orders one of the drinks. The wood-fired spot, which replaced Tyber Creek, opens daily at 5 p.m. and runs a popular monthly wine club with selections handpicked by owners Kathleen Davis and Thomas Boisvert." - Tierney Plumb
