Newest Restaurants to Check Out in Savannah, Georgia | Eater Carolinas

"The E-Tang empire continues to expand with the opening of a new noodle bar on Whitaker Street across from Circa 1875. Favorites from the original location, like xiao long bao, hot chili wontons, and braised eggplant, are served along Korean hot pots, and an extended offering of noodle soups just in time for the weather to slip below 70 in Savannah." - Kiki Dy

Came here around 8:30PM on a Friday and got sat immediately. Server and hostess both were super kind, food got out really quickly and was so good! I got the kimchi pancake and tonkatsu both were soooo delicious. My mom got the Korean ramen and the spice levels and water temperature were perfect! Great little spot in the historic district

Beautiful gem in downtown Savannah! Soju was ice cold and the food was hot! I wish I came here sooner, it would've been a nightly event, but I hit it on my last night in town. The Takoyaki took me back to when I lived in Korea and had it for the first time. The Tteok-bokki (spicy rice cakes on the menu) was delicious, I cleaned my bowl. The fish cakes that come with it are the thickest I've ever seen!!!

I saw this spot as I was leaving Savannah and thought I'll give it a try on my next trip. The broth was plenty hot, which is the first step of proper noodle bowls. It was kinda of cute assembling my own final product. Portion was on the skinny side for my rice noodle bowl, but the Japanese ramen bowl seems to be bigger as my company was still tackling it at about half way when I was done. Overall it was good, I would try more dishes if I come back in the area.

This place is not authentic Korean food. Ordered Seafood Pancake and was 90% dough. Additionally, there were no utensils and napkins on the table so we had to eventually. grab them ourselves. Our water cups were not filled either, and we had to ask specifically for a refill. For our meal, we ordered a bulgogi and a tofu soup set and even those dishes were not fully authentic either. The experience of a beakban meal is to enjoy it with the banchans. Our dishes came without the banchans. Halfway through our meal we had to ask for banchans but they were not delivered. We had to ask again towards the end of our meal, which at this point we were getting full. When we did eventually receive our banchans it was not the full banchans either, we only received half. Came excited and left quite disappointed. As a Korean, I expected a bit more authenticity but it seems like this place was more of a Chinese inspired Korean fusion place. I’m disappointed that there will be some people who will come and potentially have this place as their first Korean food experience.

If you’re looking for a spot that serves up bold flavors, quick service, and a welcoming atmosphere, Etang Noodle and Hotpot is a must-visit. My daughter and I stopped in for a meal, and from start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. I ordered the hotpot, which came loaded with a variety of fresh toppings. The broth was rich and comforting—just a tad on the salty side—but still incredibly flavorful. When I asked for extra cilantro and green onions, the staff quickly brought them over with no hesitation, which I really appreciated. My daughter opted for a curry dish, and judging by how much she enjoyed it, I’d say it was a winner. The flavors were well-balanced, and the portion was just right. We also couldn’t resist ordering both steamed and fried dumplings, and they did not disappoint! The steamed dumplings were soft and flavorful, while the fried ones had the perfect crisp bite. Beyond the food, the service was top-notch. Our server was polite, patient, and happy to answer any questions we had. Everything came out quickly, and we never felt rushed. Overall, Etang Noodle and Hotpot delivered a fantastic dining experience. Whether you're craving hotpot, dumplings, or a comforting bowl of curry, this spot is worth a visit. We’ll definitely be back!

OMG Y'ALL. If you like noodles and spicy food, place is for you! The hot and sour Ramen is what drove me in but my waitress talked me into the Tom Yum instead. I was so happy she did! It was spicy but not molten lava level, but the lemongrass is what really shines through. The pork in the soup is DELICIOUS. I did eventually try the hot and sour which is lava level but also very good. They have a great ambiance, the service is friendly and helpful, and the decor is really nice. 10/10 recommend!

Google
Saw that there was a new place on whitaker street and had to give it a try. I was pretty basic this time and got the beef soup... it was great! Nice and flavorful with a good portion size. I'll definitely be back to try some of the more adventurous options.

Google
This place is not for Korean. Now, I understand why Italian hate pineapple pizza. We ordered three different foods and realized all foods were just imitations of Korean cuisine. Might be good place for people who don’t really know what authentic Korean food is

Yelp
While visiting our daughter we stopped here for dinner, We found this location just by walking around the historic area. Boys were attracted to the display outside of the ramen noodles which is in a very giant bowl. Even sitting in the restaurant, they continue to talk about the giant bowl of ramen. The staff was friendly and helpful. And the food was good, based off of what we ordered it seems like my husband's dish was the best. He kept raving about the sauce. I had the rice cake noodle soup with the wontons, it was on the blander side but good. All the dishes were a large portion so it is easy to get full here. The boys had the Japanese Chicken nuggets they didn't seem to like them but before van adult could try them, my three year old accidentally spilled his lemonade in the dish.

Yelp
Crispy oysters to go. Delicious, wonderfully breaded, and healthy sized oysters. Served with a delicious dipping sauce and delicately shredded, fresh, crisp, and slightly sweet carrots. Adorable decor. Such a welcoming and warm environment. Can't wait to return for a sit down experience!

Yelp
We went on Mother's Day and thankfully it wasn't too busy. The food was tasty and served quickly, they accommodated us and changed out the pork for chicken on our ramen. It's a small cute place that feels comfy and classy when you walk in, don't let the outside appearance deter you!

Yelp
We went to the hot pot location-- tho we do love dim sum! But this one was close by and we were hungry!! The food was tasty. We sat upstairs because it's a small place and the downstairs tables were full. We still got great service. The black garlic ramen and the yaki udon were stand outs.

Yelp
This place is amazing! I discovered this place in Hilton Head. So happy there is one at Tybee! They have some great bogo deals. They have the best spring rolls I have ever had. So crispy and not greasy. The sweet and sour dipping sauce is freshly made. Not sickening sweet. Perfect meld of sweet and sour. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken and the pork pan fried dumplings. Delicious! Everything is so freshly made. This is definitely my go to place for Chinese.

Yelp
Good selection of Chinese food including soup dumplings which are hard to find on the East coast. The dumplings were delicious. We were a party of 5 so we samples many dishes. All were great

Yelp
Very good Tom Yum rice noodles tonight. Wife's miso ramen was OK, but mine was delicious. Boiling hot broth brought to the table with various vegetables, your protein, etc. that you drop in. Great flavors. We'll be back.

Yelp
ETang - hot pot / two locations on Whittaker one for dim sum and one for hot pot. Check menus and locations to be sure which you would like it can get confusing when adding to the gps. Server was attentive & seating was open availability as it wasn't too busy the night we went.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Decent sized portions that were full of flavor. I got the chicken katsu curry and though it was a bit more watery than what im used to, it was still amazing.

Laura F.

Yelp
Hot pot dishes were excellent along with the pot stickers. My kimchi ramen lacked flavor so I had to doctor it up plus ask for more kimchi... thus the 4 instead of a 5. I would come again!

Yelp
I have read previous reviews- the problem i see is people are in a hurry and have unreal expectations- Great weather sit in the patio and relax. Great drinks and even better food. Services are friendly, and are working as fast as the kitchen allows. Come here grab a peach sangria and enjoy the views!!!! If you are in a hurry - order ahead! I will be back.

Jessi B.

Yelp

Yelp
The food is delicious and the ambiance is great! Can't wait to go back again. I had the beef and broccoli and the dumplings. Everything was authentic Chinese. So good!
