Google
The place has changed ! Back in the day saying 5-10 years back it was awesome to come here and eat and drink coffee and eat breakfast even , but now the service sucks , the women here are from South American and not a single person from Guatemala works here , all you hear is this annoying re-tonton music all day, the women here are rude and they are not friendly at all , I would like to request the owner to train the wowen to be more professional and cut the phone a bit , these women are in their social ambient all the time checking their phones every 4 minutes and the music they play is absurdly loud and stupid, what happened to real salsa , or marimba after all this is considered a Guatemalan bakery and should have at least music form the historic Guatemala which beautiful compared to this crap they play now , so this is a call for help to the owners that these Colombian wowen are nothing but poor service and bad influence to a place that had been known for a quiet relaxing stop for all people of all sorts of life .. we want the quietness and the professionalism La eterna primavera was know for .

Google
I’ve been here twice and got tortas both times. Both were really good! The service is good and the staff are nice. I would like to get breakfast there next time I go.

Ivan Martinez

Google
The best place to enjoy atole. Thick, creamy oats are my favorite. The torta de carne asada was also tasty. A wonderful dine-in experience.

Google
I have to say OMG this place is amazing!!! Their food is delicioussssssss. The people who are here serving us all this deliciousness are so so sweet💖 feels like home walking into this place. So thankful they’re a 5 min walk away from my house. The prices are perfect & affordable. Pan con todo is a must try and their habanero hot sauce delicious. Beware it is really 🌶

Google
Place changed a lot Menu isn’t reprinted for so long that it’s gross No English on the menu only Spanish (or they just didn’t reprint any more) And cashier didn’t accept card or Apple Pay even though their register has the tap logo and Apple Pay logo Said only cash, and I didn’t have any with me

Zhiyan Xu

Google
They don’t have price tags for the bakery. As a non-Spanish speaker, I feel like the cashier is charging more and more within a few months. The receipt were written in Spanish and I can’t relate the product to its name

Michael Evans

Google
This is a seriously good bakery and cafe. They have full-fledge food items, such as a plantain/eggs/crema breakfast plate and pepian. The pepian I tried was absolutely to-die-for: broth, meat, everything. I also tried their atole de ava, which was very very tasty. I could tell it was made fresh. I would love to come back to try their other dishes.

Google
I had a wonderful experience today at Eterna Primavera. I was greeted so kindly by Mara, who answered all of my questions about the items displayed. She was so polite, and provided excellent customer service. I had the most delicious empanadas, and decadent almond pastries in the morning. I went back in the afternoon and ordered both chicken and pork tamales. Both were extremely moist, and mouthwatering as they are wrapped in banana leaves. My first time visiting, I can't wait to go back to try more items. Thank you for a wonderful breakfast and lunch. Your staff and food is 5 stars. No time to submit pictures. Food didn't last long. Sincerely, Kevin

Yelp
The price of bread here is very affordable and I love that it opens early (6am). I also like some of the breakfast foods they have eggs, beans, etc. This place is popular with locals when it opens. It seems like a popular spot to get coffee and breakfast before work. Parking can be a bit tricky, but otherwise I really like this place. I like their fresh bolillos.

Yelp
I'm a Puerto Rican native raised in SF Mission District practically on 24th Street. So this place is in "my" old neighborhood. Needless to say, growing up I was exposed to many different Latino cultures and their food. I feel blessed to have had that upbringing and definitely enjoy the different foods from Central America! When gentrification started, we slowly saw all of the original businesses leave. So, It's nice to see that this business opened, with it's yummy Guatemalan food and sweet breads. I'm not 100% sure it's fully Guatemalan style yummies, but I'm pretty sure. Anyway, today was the 2nd time I patronized this business. Both times I ordered the Pan con Todo. The first time I ordered it with no Sour Cream and nothing extra aside from the beans, scrambled eggs, and cheese. I loved it - it was perfect! Today I ordered it again, but this time I added the sweet plantains, (which I felt were undercooked by the way), I also ordered it with no sour cream (again), but today upon getting back to my desk at work, I was disappointed that there were significant remnants of sour cream which I can tell that the sour cream was erroneously put on and then "scraped off". This may not be a big deal but, all my life my taste buds scream in disgust every time I taste the "crema" or sour cream, it just doesn't agree with my palate, and so I always say No Sour Cream. I definitely was disappointed and had to drown the pan with their habanero chile sauce...which I feel is not saucy at all, it's very watery. Now that I thought of writing my review, I realize I should have taken a photo. Oh well, next time. The sweet bread I ordered that had a pineapple filling was AMAZING. The service was a bit slow considering there were 4 people ahead of me and I saw 2-3 people helping in the front by the register. The 3rd person was going back and forth from the kitchen area and to the coffee station. My experience overall is why I give the business 4 stars. My next trial will be the huevos rancheros breakfast. The pics look amazing. Can't wait!

Yelp
Came in a Saturday morning and was helped right away. Ordered the pan con todo & I was not disappointed. It was delicious 10/10. Perfect ratios. Bread was SO soft and delicious. Simple and perfect.

Shane R.

Yelp
The coffee here is surprisingly good. The pastries are freshly baked. Some of the workers are monolingual in Spanish and all the staff are friendly.
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
This bakery offers a wife variety of delicious baked goods. If you get a TGTG from here it's a great deal! The workers are nice and it's a cozy vibe inside. Anything with the sweet coating melts in your mouth!

Yelp
Vine a recoger bolsas de la aplicación. Se agotaron pero no cancelaron los pedidos. Perdí mi tiempo conduciendo y esperando en la fila. La actitud no fue buena cuando no pudieron cumplir con el pedido.

Yelp
Horrible rude service It took almost thirty min I can hear the woman in the back cursing They told me about 24 min in that they were being made and they weren't. I saw people ahead of me getting orders. It was extremely unprofessional The woman making the food was vulgar and disrespectful. I left without my food. I ended up waiting almost 40 minutes and they still hadn't sent anything. When I asked if I could cancel my order the lady immediately started making the food so that she could say she had started it. I think they assumed I didn't speak Spanish, but I heard the conversation the whole time. They were prejudiced and rude. Was a horrible experience overpriced for two Baladas and a drink. I paid almost $25.

Yelp
A Guatemalan Bakery. But it is a good 50-minute bus ride away, and if you don't catch that 48 bus (I didnt) you have a LONG WAIT. But I got a TooGoodToGo deal, so I couldn't pass up the chance to get a sampling of their items, cheap. So we set the alarm and off we went. First of all. I was expecting day old stuff. I got fresh stuff that was still warm when I arrived home 55 minutes later. Hubby and I split the least interesting one, the white thing at the top of my pics. What a wonderful flavor to it. Soft and is that anise? Then a tiny piece of some dense dark thing broke off and found its way into my mouth. That was sweet and wonderful. I have been to a lot of bakeries, and there are some good ones in SF, but never have I been to a Guatemalan one. The bake goods are different in a delightful way. My only complaint besides them being far away for me is that I did not see any prices posted. But most definitely if I am even close to this place, I am returning. It is a nice switch from the usual stuff.

Yelp
Highly recommend the pan con todo! So delicious and great price. The concha bread was super good too. This spot is legit and authentic. I need to go back to try every menu item.
google avatar

kimberly C.

Yelp
So got a "toogoodtogo" bag from them--- wow what generous bakery they are. Over a dozen pastries-- but I guess I'm not that into Guatemalan pastries. It was a little dry to me and most contained almond flour or almond extract.
google avatar

Klaus M.

Yelp
Breakfast = pan con todos...scrambled eggs , beans, crema and cheese... Best $5 breakfast Sammie in the city

Yelp
When I was a little girl, my favorite bakery was A Guatemalan bakery owned by a couple. It was right on 24th St and Potrero. Now as an adult, one of their sons opened this bakery on 24th and Alabama. To be quite frank, I wasn't a fan of it in the beginning. The service was really slow and I wasn't as impressed with the customer service and the bread. So I stopped going. About a year later, I decided to give it another try and let me tell you....I LoVE it now. I'm not sure what happened there but the service has amped up significantly. The food is also extra delicious and now I am addicted with their 'Pan Con Todo'. It is a bread roll that is stuffed with scrambled eggs, refried beans, sour cream and fresh cheese. You can also add fried plantain. It's like a full on breakfast in a roll. They are not stingy with the amounts and I am pretty full by the time we're done with it. I highly recommend trying this place out and I'm glad that I am writing a review. I tend to write nothing at all when I'm not impressed with the place. And I am motivated to write this positive review and encourage them to keep slaying it :)

Yelp
Really nice Guatemalan Bakery in the Mission lots of fresh Breads , Juices , Pastry here to start your morning plus some tables if you want to relax a moment and enjoy a light breakfast or lunch. Busy but not crowded , and clearly frequented by those living in the neighborhood. Easy parking when I came in the morning , and I was helped by a very pleasant woman at the counter. The space is clean & welcoming it's a step up from old style bakeries in the mission. The breads & pastry were fresh & yummy , and affordable so yes I will be back, also I think they are still doing Hot Dishes , I need to check them out. update : I really have really enjoyed some of the pastries, and realized that the way Sesame Seeds, Cinnamon , and Anise were used in some of the breads reminded me of Stella D'oro an East Coast Italian Brand. I will be back !

Yelp
Located on the best street in all of SF: 24th street in the mission district so you already know it's poppin'. According to my Guatemalan grandmother and mother, this food reminds them of home (and they are a hard bunch to please), my sister also makes a special drive from across town to eat their quesadillas I'm a huge fan of their pan con todo and fresh orange juice in the morning or early afternoon. The service is great, you're always greeted with a smile even when the line is out the door (which most mornings it is!). Can get pretty packed inside but when you do get a table it's a nice vibe to sit and listen to the chatter of the people.

Yelp
** The following review reflects my takeout experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** Y'know it's OK to cheat during a pandemic. I don't mean like adultery, but calorie-wise, a little slip is bound to happen because lockdown makes baked confections look better than they have any right to be. I happened upon this newish corner bakery, right across the street from the now-closed La Victoria Bakery, and all I needed was to see the word "panaderia" to walk robotically inside to see the extensive selection in their fast-emptying display case (photo: https://bit.ly/3pHPEoa). It was only later that I discovered it was a Guatemalan cafe that served breakfast and lunch items. In fact, the lineage behind this operation is impressive because the owner is the daughter of the owner of Universal Bakery, the longtime Mission spot that serves satisfying Guatemalan breakfasts including a soft roll I still remember years later (review: https://bit.ly/2NHJoQa). I weakened and bought what I believe was a Chocolate Gusano which I took away with glee. I only walked around the corner, parked the pastry on an empty ledge, and took off my mask to devour it (photo: https://bit.ly/3qIwKim). It was deliciously soft and not too sweet. Indeed like father, like daughter. BAKED GOOD - 4 stars...nice treat during a lockdown AMBIANCE - n/a...looks cheery but I got my gusano and skidaddled SERVICE - 4 stars...genuinely friendly TOTAL - 4 stars...Guatemalan comfort food in the heart of the Mission RELATED - Exploring the Mission? Yelp
This is a gem of a bakery. It is Guatemalan and according to another patron it is authentic. I ordered one butter bun that was good. They like a drier crumb that goes well with a coffee. The star was the Pan con Todo, a warm borillo (sp?) bun filled with scrambled eggs, hot beans, two generous pieces of queso fresco and topped with crema. Each bite was so tasty! This was affordable and quick and easy. I can't wait to return to try their other meals.
google avatar

Foofa B.

Yelp
A terrific, little spot in the heart of the vibrant Mission neighborhood. Warm, friendly staff serving tasty treats at awfully low prices at this lovely, local bakery.

Yelp
This bakery is great! The quesadilla reminds me of Guatemala, sooooo gooodddd! Their pan dulce is good and I love their pan con todo, breakfast in a bolillo. I usually come in for a coffee and get my pan dulce fix! I'm giving a 4 star, because I had gone in a couple times and ordered the atol de elote and it tasted old and it wasn't warmed up properly. I was in Oakland by the time I tried it so I couldn't drive back to exchange it. Another time I ordered togo and they forgot to add an item, so I called in and they were very nice about it and told me to come back to pick it up and thank goodness I was nearby this time. Regardless this establishment is one of my fave Guatemalan bakeries in the city.

Yelp
I wouldn't know about this place if it wasn't for the TooGoodToGo app to help eateries save wastes food from the day before. Nice app to play around with. I randomly choose this place on app but didn't realize it was far from the BART station and had to walk few blocks which took about 12 minutes. But don't worry it's a straight line. It is a nice, clean looking bakery with some people in line ordering coffee and pasteris. It is a clean, well lighted place. Most of the pastries I could see from the window display are mostly bread like pastries with maybe a hint of sweetness. Mexican and Cuban pastries I have no experience with, so this is my first dive into it. So from my surprised goodie day old bag I had a quite a number of breadlike assortments. I had to divide evenly and sort which ones to freeze because I can't eat all that or I will turn onto a doughgirl! Mexican bread pastries are very heavy, hearty and fulfilling which is complete opposite of Chinese bread pastries like the pineapple bun and cocktail buns which are light and fluffy. Both cultures are good in their own way. While writing this I am trying to look up names of some of these pastries I have which are original and chocolate bigote, one concha, fruit empanada, maybe Mexican buñuelos? Oh all in all it was a good experience. Looking forward to try other breads and pastries!

Salvador S.

Yelp
Can't plan to eat here as seating is limited. Ordered food but they forgot to make it and I was left waiting until I had to bring it to their attention. I became hangry so preferred to leave without trying food. It's also unprofessional not to show pricing of what customer is ordering on menu.

Lucia O.

Yelp
Great gGuatemalan food. My favorite is their pan con todo. Bread is fresh and the main dishes are true to the region.
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
Great place to pickup lunch or breakfast, they have a lot of Mexican baked goods and egg dishes served quickly and at a good price.
google avatar

erika e.

Yelp
Great customer service! The staff were all so nice. The atole de chocolate is a must try. The pastries were also great. I can't wait to come back and try their food.
google avatar

Ann D.

Yelp
Definitely worth repeating. Great service. Plenty of seating in a nice welcoming space.
google avatar

Charity R.

Yelp
It's ok. Prices are high. Coffee was ok. Orange juice was bitter and sour. Customer service was ok. The omelette was ok. The potatoes were ok. I think we paid too much. I think we should have waited for another cafe to open up or just eat our pan from the other panadería. Some of the fruit was not fresh. Even though we tried to be supportive I don't think we will comeback again!

Brenda R.

Yelp
El mejor pan en el distrito de la misión! Aparte su comida es una delicia, y la atención al cliente es excelente
google avatar

Liz B.

Yelp
First of all, Brenda the salesperson was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly! I went in, inquiring about traditional Latin foods as my granddaughter has to do a report and bring in some authentic foods. Brenda was very helpful.

Dee Q.

Yelp
Although this is a spin off from Panaderia Universal I would have to say it has a long way to go. Prices are a bit high. An empanada de leche no bigger than a $1 concha cost $4, they have an open kitchen which shows a bit unclean, and table where a customer picks up their order by the kitchen isn't cleaned after each pick up. I'll stick to the original for now.
google avatar

Ericca C.

Yelp
Definitely going to have to be stopping in at least 3 times a week. Heard hype from a group of trustworthy friends when it comes to places of business and people that make Calle 24 what it is. I'm so happy I finally made it in, it surpassed expectations and made me feel at home. The pan is fresh and a great go to as you leave that way you aren't out the door empty handed with such a full stomach and happy heart. Again, made me feel at home and right with my soul. What it is. What's up? Our new go to.
google avatar

Gloria A.

Yelp
Delicious empanadas, caldos, etc. & pan dulce! The staff are personable and great! A gem for real.
google avatar

Stephanie Z.

Yelp
Their food is always on point, tasty and fresh. Their pan dulce is really good and the restaurant is nice and clean.
google avatar

Sheryl B.

Yelp
Got myself a "box full of deliciousness"! Peach creme pastries and guava pastries - filo dough is perfect--light, flakey, buttery layers! Sweet empanadas with three different fillings (pumpkin, cheese and pineapple)! All were tasty! The Peach creme pastry and pineapple empanada were standouts! Pumpkin filing was awesome too, great for the autumn season! Will come again!!
google avatar

Marcela N.

Yelp
The fact that it's Guatemalan makes Eterna Primavera even more special since we don't really have much spots in the city that offers Guatemalan Cuisine. The pan dulce is super yummy! My go-to's are usually conchitas, gusanos, and empanada de manjar. Their arroz con leche reminds me of the kind we drink in Guate, on POINT! Definitely recommend this spot on 24th. Try it out and support your local food spots :)
google avatar

Jordan W.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! I had never been to a Guatemalan bakery and this was a great first experience. The pastries were buttery, flaky, indulgences. The pastries in the pastry display are not labeled with names nor prices (I really don't know what I ordered!), but I loved the items that the staff suggested. The price point is unbeatable for the area... I got 3 pastries and a large coffee for $7. The store was very clean and shockingly busy for 6:30am. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Jose R.

Yelp
Four words sum up our trip here: Pan dulce on point! We ordered an entire bag and it was basically gone in a single day. Fast service, great food, and a great location. We will definitely be back to stock up soon :)
google avatar

Marian A.

Yelp
Quick, super friendly service. There's a bunch of stuff I'd like to try on a return visit

Yami P.

Yelp
Definitely a hidden gem in the Mission. The food here is always on point, from their savory tortas to their delicious pan dulce. The service is friendly and the inside is cute and cozy as well. The main reason I come back is their $5 pan con todo, definitely the best meal you can get for just 5 bucks. Make sure to ask for a side of their habanero hot sauce too. I would give this place 6 stars if I could.
google avatar

Mario G.

Yelp
Great Barkery in the heart of the Mission! They have the best quesadilla hands down. Bread is made fresh and they also serve food, good space for you to sit down and enjoy a meal or a pan dulce and coffee. If you are in the area you have to stop by try this bakery ! !
google avatar

Otto N.

Yelp
This is an original Guatemalan bakery and restaurant. The enchiladas are delicious . I love all their food and pastries. The flan is so good.
google avatar

Liz E.

Yelp
This place is great! It's newly remodeled, clean, and there's a sitting area if you want to enjoy your food there. They have a nice selection of Central American pastries, snacks, and full meals. We had breakfast here. We got the huevos rancheros, a veggie omelette, and the "pan con todo" to share. Both meals brought potatoes and fresh fruit salad. The huevos rancheros were fresh and served atop 2 tostadas, the sauce had a mild spiciness and was delicious. The veggie omelette was huge! My husband couldn't finish it. We grabbed a few pastries to take home. Their pineapple empanada is stuffed with real pineapple, and the custard for their custard empanada is made there. Definitely a place you have to try!

erik k.

Yelp
Love this place. My Spanish isn't too good (but I try) and they're always so welcoming and the baked goods are yummy! It's nice to go meditate at SF Dharma Collective in the morning then go there for a yummy pineapple or guava pastry.
google avatar

Estrella L.

Yelp
So far, the tamales, empanadas, fajitas de carne adada & pepion stew were Deelish! Simple decor, with pleasant staff & real home cooking!
google avatar

Olivia C.

Yelp
Wonderful fresh, flaky and flavorful pastries, great juices, and a friendly staff. I had a pastry with cream cheese and passion fruit that reminded me of a pastry from Panaderia Rosetta in CDMX and a Jamaica that was perfect and not too sweet!

Nicoll M.

Yelp
This place is the best place in the entire mission. I live around the corner and come here so much! Pan con todo is an amazing: torta with fresh cheese and eggs and beans - great breakfast item. The chicken soup is big and you can split with two people it's so fresh and delicious and makes you feel warm and good. Also the tostada dish is amazing. I forgot the name.. Coffee is great and the agua frescas are wonderful. Staff is so kind and accommodating. Be patient if they are busy but it's worth any wait. This is my favorite place to eat in the mission. I go at least once a week. I might even stop in right now. I hope this place stays open forever!! It's my fav.
google avatar

Jay M.

Yelp
Far above average sweet bread, fresh and flavorful. A whole-wheat roll with anise, mildly sweet, like I'd never tasted before. Pumpkin empanadas so tastefully spiced. If you can resist their pastry, they also serve breakfast and lunch.
google avatar

Crystal Y.

Yelp
New restaurant in the mission. Came here for brunch the other day and tried their huevos rancheros. The portion came with fresh potatoes and fruit. There wasn't nearly enough ranchero salsa so i asked for more and they obliged-then the mea became great. They made their tortillas tostadas-crispy and crunchy. Overall decent new place. The menu is Spanish only.

Carina A.

Yelp
Came here to try the pupusas and I was not disappointed. They had de Loroco, Revueltas, frijoles, queso y la locas. I had the locas they were delicious. This has become my new favorite spot for pan dulce, breakfast and lunch. ya
google avatar

Ricky L.

Yelp
Bread is delicious and fresh, I work across the street and haven't had any "old tasting" bread. Their breakfast is great too, the huevo rancheros are my favorite so far.

Les S.

Yelp
I came here recently when visiting a friend who lives nearby. While it is a little sad to see how much the mission has changed this place was a bit of comfort. It embraces the mission hispanic flavor, but with a modern, but not too modern, twist. The other new places just don't look like they belong in the mission. The breads were delicious and the vegetable omelet was quite good too. The guy who was working the counter was so nice and really surprised me with a free bread to "try something else". No one does that sort of stuff anymore. My friends will definitely be back frequently, and I look forward to visiting when I am in town again.
