20 Best East Bay Vegan Restaurants | Eater SF

"Donut Farm’s new Oakland location — dubbed Eternal — offers a full slate of the Bay Area’s best-known vegan doughnuts. Beyond that, though, it offers a full breakfast/brunch menu. Come here, then, for your vegan breakfast burrito, tofu omelette, and country fried Chik’n needs." - Eater Staff

Good food, I had the Beyond Burger, tasty but small portion, no side dish for $14? Chicken sandwich last week was a better dish and value at $9...plus fries. After Brunch there Saturday, had lunch at another place in the neighborhood.

Good brunchy spot—they have a diversity of breakfast scrambles that are tofu based and of course vegan donuts. My two friends who were not vegan each got a scramble which they thought were ok, but everybody tried and enjoyed my jackfruit burrito (which I ordered as a burrito because I’m GF). Service was really friendly and the spot was fun. I’ll def be back.

SO GOOD! I got the herbed biscuits and gravy will greens and loved it! Had a creamsicle donut for dessert... It was heavenly. The only downside was that parking was nearly impossible midday.

We went there for brunch and it was a little hectic. The server was very friendly, but also seemed to be absent minded. We asked for no onions but got onions, we asked to add avocado but got no avocado. There were a few other items that made us scratch our heads and wonder? The kitchen was totally screwing this guy, but he was also botching quite a bit. Overall still not a bad experience they are doing a nice job of putting together a menu which caters to vegans. We appreciate their effort and will definitely return in hopes of editing this to a 5-star review

This was my second time there - and both times the entire restaurant had only one server and one cook in the back with a busy restaurant full of people. I don’t know what was going on today, but almost everyone sitting around me didn’t get what they ordered, myself included. The only saving grace was that the food was good and the server was nice, though overwhelmed. The doughnuts were the best part, and I‘m pretty sure they get them delivered. Good potential but poorly managed.

Try the garlicky greens tofu scramble- steaming hot, fresh, scrumptious and so healthy. The fried potatoes that come with it are just PERFECTION- soft and fresh inside and golden crispy outside and the bread slice is thick and delicious too. We also tried the fried tofu "chicken" sandwich which was crispy, hot and amazing with its sauce, pickles, lettuce and tomato on a very nice fluffy bun. The hemp milk coffee latte was creamy and smooth. Seating is comfortable and atmosphere is quiet and calming with staff who are always very nice and welcoming. Highly recommend!!!

Elegant (re-)incarnation of the restaurant portion of the vegan Donut Farm on San Pablo Avenue in Oakland (which is still open). Nice to see many of the friendly faces from that cafe :) Lots of delicious & healthy meals to choose from, some featuring vegan "faux meat". Nice music, a pleasant vibe, especially good for Saturday or Sunday brunch. My understanding is that they're hoping to extend their hours into dinner time hours soon. I wish them well!
