Yelp
Ethel M Chocolate is so delicious! We originally stopped in just to pick up some chocolates, but were intrigued by the wine and chocolate tasting and are so glad we signed up for it. The experience was very informative, with a nice and genuine host who made it even better. Everything we tasted was delicious. We were also happy to receive a coupon for any purchase at the store--it was a really nice bonus. Highly recommend visiting!

Yelp
This reminded me of the boudin bakery tour in Disneyland CA adventure park. It was a self tour where you get a chocolate treat in the beginning, milk or dark, and then walk through a hallway where you can see all the factory machines. There is writing on the windows explaining the machines but no live people talking or videos playing. We are also hoping we would see some people cooling or mixing chocolate or something, but all the rooms were empty! We did go on Saturday afternoon, so maybe they weren't working on the weekend. For my 2 and 5 year old, they didn't really understand and just ran through it. Thus, this might be more of older kids and adults. Maybe we will try again in the future. But it was free and there was tons of parking. We also went to the cactus garden after, which was also free. The kids had fun running around and seeing the displays. They were preparing for the evening Santa event during Xmas so we got to see the empty site in the afternoon! Haha. And finally, you can purchase chocolate there! It is pretty pricey though, more expensive than sees. And I couldn't tell the difference too much. But some people might notice and be willing to pay more for the chocolate.

Yelp
This is a short drive from the Strip and it's a unique experience for young children. Our girls enjoyed some free chocolate sample while having a simple tour of the chocolate packaging process. Afterwards, we ordered a double hot chocolate for them to share while we strolled the cactus garden and took a few memorable snaps.

Yelp
We love Ethel M's! The chocolate is elite and we love the seasonal cactus garden. But what stops a 5 star review is the light show during Christmas should go back to a reservation system, like they did during Covid. We garden was packed and this years new security line was wrapped around down the street. The garden and shops weren't enjoyable bc it was so crowded. When they had the reservation system you could shop in the store and take time to look instead of being packed in like sardines and can't take your time to choose your chocolates, which we love!! Super expensive chocolates but really high quality.

Yelp
Always a family tradition! Even though it was cold, was able to have some yummy hot chocolate. I'm so glad that they offer Mexican hot chocolate outside in the garden. The lights were amazing and they show different ones every year! The workers inside the factory were engaging with us and very funny!

Yelp
Arrived at the Ethel M. Flagship location for the self guided tour of the chocolate factory. It was about 4 -4:30 pm. We were greeted by the host at the entrance. She offered us a sample of dark or milk chocolate in individual wrapped packets. She explained where the tour started and the gift shop. There's also a tasting room, but unfortunately it's $25 per person for a formal tasting session,so we passed on that for now since you have to make an appointment. So we walked through where they make the chocolate and unfortunately there was no one actually making any chocolate. The machines were not going and there was no one working this late on a Friday. So, off to the chocolate candy counter to see what kind of flavored chocolate they make. There were so many to chose from. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and helpful. They have pre-made boxes to buy or you can make your own -kind of like a doughnut shop-lol. We chose a 24 count cactus box to fill. There were so many choices-a few that stood out was the bananas foster truffle, prickley pear, cinnamon apple pie, and lemon satin, and they also had liquor filled chocolate that looked like barrels. They also had chocolate bars in all sorts of flavors and pecan brittle that was amazing! Also bags of assorted flavors. So my husband picked what he wanted to fill the box and I chose what I wanted to try to fill the box. There was a special limited time offer if you spend $50 you get a free pecan Carmel chocolate bar...3 oz bar!

Yelp
What a wonderful visit I had at Ethel M's Chocolate Factory! I was house and dog sitting nearby for a friend and after driving by for the 110th time, I decided to stop inside and check things out. I'm so happy I did! It's been a good 10+ years since I have visited the factory, my kids were a little then, and I was a frantic mess of a mom! The factory was sparkling and was so much bigger than I remember! There is now a tasting room serving up mimosas, several counters in which to purchase sweet delights (which can be customized) and a café, offering coffee, milkshakes, chocolate dipped strawberries, oranges, marshmallows, cupcakes, cannolis, and more. Everything looked delicious and they even had a chance to sample a bananas, foster truffle, two types of pecan brittle and a small, bite sized chocolate and dark chocolate bar. In the end, I purchased a box of pecan brittle, covered with chocolate and a chocolate bar with lemon filling. I can't wait to come back with a friend, or a visitor from out of town, walk around the cactus garden and try the café!

Yelp
9/28/2023 Last visit we didn't even know about the factory.. (the clerk at the airport location told us).. So here we went on the self guided tour.. Felt like back in the day field trip.. Staff was friendly and shared the story behind Ethel M's.. Also found out there are four shops in the airport.. Wanted to buy some items, but I knew we would be running around town.. Bought the pecan toffee ( $15 for four pieces) and I couldn't resist to the small travel bag (my second one).. Very cool they gave me an ice pack for the tote bag.. Really enjoyed the cactus garden..

Yelp
We came here for a reprieve from the Vegas heat. We found this place online as a recommended Vegas activity when it's crazy hot outside. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted and offered a sample of either their milk or dark chocolate. I chose the dark (dark chocolate, always). It was a really delicious piece of chocolate; we would've brought some back as souvenirs if not for the excessive Vegas heat that would melt them instantly. We went on a Thursday afternoon but it wasn't a very exciting day at the factory. This isn't your Hershey Park Chocolate World tour in Pennsylvania, it's more of a "fish bowl" type tour where you look on through the plexiglass. They have descriptions printed on the glass to read for a self-guided tour. You start on the left against the back wall and work your way down. It took us about 5 minutes to get through the whole process. Perhaps if more activity was going on inside the factory, the enjoyment of watching what happens behind the curtain would've lasted longer. They did have a few machines going, and you could watch a station of employees putting delicate chocolates into each of their boxes, but overall, it was nothing engrossing. The self-guided tour ended with a selfie spot with a giant box of chocolates, and then you could explore their chocolate cafe/shop. They have a selection of chocolate truffles to pick from, along with a counter to order decadent chocolate milkshakes ($10), chocolate-covered marshmallows (~$4), and chocolate-covered strawberries ($6/strawberry!). Items are definitely on the pricey side, but they did offer quantity discounts. We ordered a dark chocolate-covered marshmallow (comes with three marshmallows on a stick) which was a tasty treat, though the marshmallow was a little on the chewy side. The chocolate is definitely the star, and it had fancy branding printed on the chocolate. After we finished our chocolate treat, we braved the Vegas heat to check out their cactus garden. The cactus garden was a highlight - it was neat to stroll through the garden and see the variety of cacti on display, prickly pears and all! Don't forget the sunscreen though - that Vegas sun is no joke!

Yelp
We went here in December to see the lights. We were there a couple days after Christmas, and the line probably took us about 40 minutes or so! If I could do it all over, I would have switched out with people in our group, having some people wait in line while others went to explore the store. Inside the store, they give you a free piece of chocolate and you can also look through the window at the factory, where people are working. Even in the late evening. They sell drinks like hot chocolate, and everything is overpriced of course, but very yummy. We bought two delicious and unique flavored chocolate bars ($8 each - ahh!), and also shared a hot chocolate. As for the lights in the cactus garden, it was way bigger than we expected, and therefore worth the wait. In the middle of the garden, there's actually a food truck sort of thing selling more hot chocolate and a few other items.

Yelp
Went with a group for my birthday and did a chocolate and mimosa tasting. What a wonder experience! The host was knowledgeable, very informative, and paired the chocolates with the mimosas perfectly! If you get a chance to do this tour you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Yodit D.

Yelp
Love their variety of chocolate! My favorites are the prickly pear, coconut, macadamia dark chocolate and lemon. The liqueur chocolates are good as well... especially the amaretto one A must everything we go to Vegas
google avatar

Yelp
A really beautiful place. Amazing staff. Great chocolate. And the cactus is beautiful to see and stroll thru.

Yelp
the people working here are so nice! some of the nicest people i've interacted with in vegas! the gentleman who greeted us at the entrance was super informative and enthusiastic. the lady sorting chocolates behind the glass took a moment to look up and wave to my daughter. the ladies at the truffle station took their time with us and gave us several samples. everyone we interacted with was a delight. the garden is immaculate - perfectly manicured - maybe too perfect. like, serial killer, OCD perfect.

Yelp
Honestly I feel like this was worth going once. It was a let down. The tour of the chocolate factory is self guided and not as amazing as I had hoped. They have a garden outside, it was a paid entry, littered with Christmas flare. I've bought chocolate all over the world and this is as good as any, it's a little costly but the quality is excellent. I'm not saying it's over priced, far from it, it's just more of a luxury purchase than common chocolate, I don't normally drop $100 on chocolate and candy. Also, the hot cocoa is a must have in the winter visits. I'm glad to have visited, I just don't need to go back. You can purchase the chocolate around town at various locations for the same cost.

Yelp
Everyone who goes on the short tour can get a free sample of this delicious chocolate. Last night, we visited and got to see a glimpse of some of the chocolate production. It is really neat to see. Large vats in place. Conveyor belts in place. Large signs to see what they are currently working on. It was just a few employees (about three or four) but it is still a neat sight to see. Years ago, the corporation was affiliated with Mars, which owns M & M's, and there used to be a small store (but it was packed to the gills) that would sell M & M's merchandise. It was a neat little store. We would always visit. We wouldn't always make a purchase, but sometimes, we did. Nowadays there is quite a lot of showroom space, which I don't think was necessary. It's an awkward use of the space, I think. The other part is the two chocolate stations (bars and boxes) and hot chocolate station (they also sell tea). There is a neat display of the world's chocolate also for sale. This area makes a pretty penny on their chocolate, but it is Christmas time, though.

Yelp
Went here yesterday with my two sons, 21 and 15, been taking them here since they were elementary school age, so it's almost like a tradition. We arrived at 4:30 with a line of about 20 people ahead of us. They now charge one dollar per person entry fee when it used to be free admission to walk the gardens. I also noticed that they have permanent barriers installed so that you cannot walk the entire lighted areas. The lights were indeed beautiful, but couldn't enjoy them all due to the restrictive barriers. As we were leaving, we noticed that the line had grown tremendously long and people near the end of the line would have at least an hour wait to get in. We didn't go inside the store because we weren't interested in buying overpriced chocolates, we just love looking at lights!
google avatar

Gabe C.

Yelp
This is a great spot to come out and see a really great set up of Christmas lights. The line might seem long but it moved quickly and we didn't wait more than 15 minutes. The price is $2 per person and they have several add-one. You can get some hit chocolate and other holiday goodies and there are some adult beverages options. Great spot to take kids we walked around for 40 minutes and they do have a Santa you can visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Great tour of the chocolate factory. Reminded me of Willy Wonka. The chefs behind the windows working hard to produce delicious chocolates. The selkf guided tour was well organized and the store had everything you could imagine. Outside, there was a cactus garden second to none. Well worth the drive.

Yelp
Went to the wine and chocolate tasting and loved it. Was impressed with the pairings and yum were they all good! Definitely recommend going to!!

Yelp
I had no clue that this place even existed until I came to visit Vegas with some friends a few weeks ago. A couple of my friends are chocolate lovers so it's no surprise that they found this factory for us to visit. We all did the holiday chocolate tasting together and it was so much fun! I learned so much and it was a real treat getting to sample Ethel M's holiday chocolates.

Yelp
Family vacation 2021...bringing the California variant of COVID-19 to your city. Ethel M Chocolate Factory was a stop for us while visiting Vegas. You might not recognize the name. But, Ethel M comes from a famous chocolate family. The M stands for Mars. It was her son, Forest Mars that created the Ethel M brand in honor of his mother. You know some of their other brands like M&M and Mars. M&M's and Mars are made elsewhere. Only the Ethel M brand is made here. It wasn't much of a tour. Visitors could look into the factory area and watch the employees making chocolate through a window. Maybe it was due to COVID, but, there were no guides to guide us through the factory. It is a self guided tour with signs describing the process. The signs were enough for us. They have a nice cactus garden outside of the factory. But, we were not going to stroll through the garden in 110 degree heat. The Ethel M Chocolate factory is a nice way to spend an hour. It is nice and air conditioned inside. They give you a piece of chocolate upon entry. They have a gift shop where you can buy their product or chocolate beverages. They have even have a chocolate tasting class and other classes that you can take. Best of all, the self guided tour and cactus garden are free.

Native SF W.

Yelp
Great selection of chocolates but way too much expensive! Nice to watch the chocolate being made and packaged.

Yelp
What a delightful excursion off the strip! This place has something for everybody: cool industrial machinery, serene cactus-filled nature paths, and lots of amazing chocolate and confections....and it's all free! Of course, there's plenty available for purchase as well (and I highly recommend the yummy looking frozen drinks) but it's a great little outing that any family can enjoy. Based on prior reviews I thought we wouldn't be able to see much of the factory but it seemed all out in plain sight. Not all of it was operational on the day we visited but there were people working in two sections that were interesting to watch for a few minutes. And the descriptions on the glass made the self-guided tour seem quite comprehensive, IMO. A friendly guide gave us a quick orientation and free samples of chocolate; what's not to like?! The cactus gardens were beautiful and very well maintained. Wide paths made walking easy. There was also a huge parking lot. Very visitor friendly and worth a stop by tourists and locals alike!
google avatar

Betty H.

Yelp
This is a fun thing to do away from the Strip. It looks like they remodeled the place. Very new looking and clean. The factory tour itself is pretty short. You look through the glass at the assembly line. You get one free chocolate sample when you walk in. Then, you can buy other chocolate items in the shop. Outside is a little garden. The whole place is small, but it's cute.
google avatar

Travis B.

Yelp
I'm not sure what I was expecting here but it definitely wasn't a single line of candy bars being made (or not being made, like on the day we went) and a gift shop selling you said candy bars for $4 a shot. Maybe I'm lucky enough to remember cool factories from elementary school tours or have been spoiled by TV shows like "how it's made" but this really did suck. 5-0 feet of glass showing one line of chocolate being dispensed in to trays (or not being dispensed as pointed out earlier.) The one redeeming factor here is the cactus gardens. Very cool, very pretty, and we'll maintained. I learned more about cactus than anything Ethel ever did. If you've never put together a puzzle, this might be an interesting tour. If you've ever watched the Discovery Channel you can go ahead and skip this.

Linda J.

Yelp
The tour of the factory was ok. Didn't seem to have any candy in the making at the time we were there. The cactus garden was very nice we thought.
google avatar

Mae G.

Yelp
Really glad we visited. It was a nice break from the strip. We did the chocolate tasting. Chris did a nice job with presenting the history behind the Ethel M brand. Though, the teasing to taste the chocolate got a little frustrating. We finally bit into the first truffle after about 10 mins. My favorite was the Dark Choc Lemon Satin. Yummy! We also visited the cactus garden. It was a bit hot at 110 degrees. So, it was a quick walk and the siccadas were making their presence known. The factory was only somewhat active and was tough to see cause they were working at the far end of the room. Staff at the store was very friendly. I'd say it was worth the stop. Didn't really mind the $20 for the tasting, but I liked hearing about the history and like our tasting coach, Chris.

Letitia E.

Yelp
Chocolate section was awesome! All these chocolates tasted so good, paired with a variety of freshly made mimosas. I would highly recommend this experience for mothers day.

Lydia Z.

Yelp
Great chocolate, love the holiday lights and the tasting experiences. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I went at Christmas for the light show that was worth the $1 each we paid. The tour inside was interesting but only a few stations were having work at them. The samples were all delicious but the pecan brittle wasn't all that
google avatar

Susannah K.

Yelp
Great to come at least once. Interesting cacti. Self tour is more interesting if you can time it for when they're in operation. Ample parking in front. You can get interesting flavors of chocolate here you can't find anywhere else. If you forgo the box then they will discount $5 off your purchase! Friendly helpful staff are like angels giving out free chocolates.
google avatar

Odessa I.

Yelp
So this place is selling hot drinks and baked products but no proper place for you to enjoy your hot drinks. They could have installed some high tables outside the store.
google avatar

Nichole B.

Yelp
We did a chocolate tasting and tour of the cactus garden with a homeschool group. I enjoyed learning about the history of the factory and how the chocolates are made. The tasting was a fun and unique experience and everyone had a great time!
google avatar

E P.

Yelp
This is an enchanting wonderland at Christmas. There are hundreds of thousands of lights and music. It has easy access for wheelchairs and strollers. Of course, there is a piece of chocolate waiting for all. Throughout the year the self guided tour is free, however at Christmas there is a $5 entrance fee for up to 6 people which goes toward Three square food Bank. I encourage everyone to experience this

Lydia H.

Yelp
It's a very (short) interesting walk through when production is happening. The end reminded me of an I Love Lucy episode where she's working on an assembly line, boxing chocolates because that's exactly what they are doing at the end. You get one small free sample of their delicious milk or dark chocolate on your way in. If you are in Vegas with kids or even without kids but you're looking for something different to do, drive on over. It was about 15 minutes I think from the Luxor/Mandalay Bay end of the strip.
google avatar

Leslie M.

Yelp
Do not do chocolate tasting but go visit and buy chocolates! The tasting was honestly a rip off as you get 4 chocolates for $20 and you can buy each truffle for $3. If you have a party of more than 2 you can buy a box of chocolates and get more bang for your buck. The video was fine but you could YouTube it. Save money and just buy chocolates!
google avatar

Larissa K.

Yelp
Wonderful tour with samples to boot! The cactus garden was dressed for Valentines Day. The guided tour was informative and well worth it! The red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting purchased in the gift shop were divine. Who knew they have tequila truffles, cognac truffles, pear blossom and so many other unheard of's! Oh; chocolate covered strawberries were the best!! Not tart at all but sugar sweet!
google avatar

Crystal P.

Yelp
Love love love Ethel M chocolate. They have two chocolate counters and two drink bars to order chocolate drinks. Yum! The factory is spotlessly clean. I didn't see a single thing out of place! The employees are friendly and seem to enjoy what they're doing. The chocolate varieties are outstanding with many size options to choose from. They even make Golden Knights inspired chocolate which I found really cool. The gardens are stunning and a perfect spot to relax or chat with a friend.
google avatar

Noelle T.

Yelp
I will say the chocolate tour was disappointing, but there was no production happening today. The chocolate is very expensive so buckle in! The only enjoyable part was the botanical garden. Large, beautiful cactus and succulents full the landscape in a massive garden to die for. The whole experience is free so worth the drive!
google avatar

Ruth W.

Yelp
I wasn't expecting much but I was in awe. My family & I scheduled a tasting & I was impressed with the history of Ethel M. The process of making - creating chocolate was educational. Our Chocolatier gave us abundant of the Mars history. I highly recommend scheduling a tasting tour. You will eat chocolate in a different manner after the tasting tour. Viewing the factory was great. Their hot chocolate was to die for! We came during the thanksgiving holiday & we got a chance to see the Cactus Garden with all the holiday lights. It was festive. All staff were great.

Yelp
Beautiful cactus garden but some of area roped off. Signed up for wine and chocolate tasting. Opened room 15 minutes late. We had assigned areas and we were seated within our group of 2 at our own table. First off told we could not take mask off at all to do tasting and had to keep placing mask up after every sip or bite. Total tasting experience ruined. You know you can't chew or drink an experience with worrying about a mask getting stuff on it or mask falling. Started presentation with what I feel was an outdated movie with music in background and words at bottom to read and never spoken. Found some facts interesting but they didn't get into more of background of their history. Only some. We were grouped in a room with people just doing tasting, wine and chocolate tasting, and nut allergy tasting. I always like to know what I'm placing in my mouth. I would have preferred that I was told about the piece of chocolate I was going to taste along with the wine and why they paired it. We were told to take sip of our water, smell chocolate and feel, taste (make sure you place mask up). Then the person would say , oh don't forget about tasting your wine. After that they would then tell you what you ate and the wine paired. They placed the names on the screen. My first chocolate was vanilla of which I don't like at all so as soon as I smelled it, I didn't eat it. The presentation was not good. For the ones with nut allergy, they were not even told about their chocolate. They were told what it was beforehand though but no info about it. We were through the tasting in half hour. This was $35 and I've had better vodka/chocolate tasting experience and wine/cheese experiences for this price that presented well. Maybe it is because of covid but I felt staff was not very knowledgeable and certainly doesn't get commission on something. I did buy a box of chocolate but all the pieces are ones I was not familiar with and just hope are to my liking. Oh and you can walk the tour to see the rooms where candy is made but nothing was happening at time of our tour. Short walk. They have a chocolate wall to take a picture with but lighting is awful. Hope they update their presentation and spend more time. But most importantly tell people what they are about to eat instead of trying to guess. Soo disliked that part.

Yelp
We go to Vegas at least once a year, usually around thanksgiving. We like to visit Ethel M's for a free chocolate sample and to check out the cactus garden. Around the holidays they decorate it with lights and play music. It's gorgeous. Definitely worth the trip and you can't beat the admission price (Free!) The chocolate is really good too. Including the hot chocolate. So good!!

Yelp
One of the most interesting and fun things for a foodie like myself to do in East Vegas ! Staff was very fun , personable , knowledgeable and just plain nice .... Enjoyed the chocolate tasting room and information on Ethel M's and the Mars artisan chocolate operation in Las Vegas , this is a must see , the cactus garden is beautiful and this costs nothing to get in, free samples and lots of information on everything chocolate. Special thanks to Connie, Kris, Tiff and everyone at Ethel M's !!

Yelp
You must come and get your official license as #Chocolatier. Ethel M has recently begun the chocolate tasting which you get on Group for half off. Once in you get seated and learn the entire history of how Ethel M began linking back to Mars Family. I was astounded to learn they work with the best ingredients and all the chocolate is processed on that plant. We had a cholate with a raspberry, one shaped like a peanut, the next was chocolate nut, and the final was lemon. Peanut butter inside was far better than what you buy in the story. The raspberry was made with a real raspberry covered in chocolate. The chocolate with the nuts definitely had a different tasty eating from the right side up to turning it over. The most famous was the lemon one but it was too tart for my taste. I give highest compliments to the host who catered to a 7 year old child to a 90 year old women in a wheel chair. As a speaker he had good diction. Great pace and loved it over all. Special thanks to the staff who went out of their way to get us in an earlier tour. Gratitude beyond Words. Rosalyn K.

Yelp
Nice place outside the strip! We popped in late on a Sunday evening. On entering we were very warmly greeted and immediately given samples for a white, milk and dark chocolate. This guy also explained how we could go about the self tour of the factory. We visited the chocolate shop at the end of the tour and were delighted to see the chocolate varieties. They have a whole variety of alcoholic chocolates as well and many gift options!! The lady behind the counter also gave us complimentary pecan cookies samplers which were simply delicious! The place also has a cactus garden with a whole collection of desert plants. Great place to spend an afternoon and can also take a tasting experience if you would like.

Yelp
All I can say is WOW. Loved watching them make the goodies and seeing the Christmas lights in the cactus area at night.

Chris S.

Yelp
What a fun experience for any chocolate lover. The factory tour was brief as they did not have run going for the day, but no problem as we were there to do the chocolate and wine tasting with visiting family. What fun and what great chocolate. Our chocolate instructor was really knowledgeable and engaging. Was fun to decide what we liked best and the pairing with wine. My family said they would do this again. Thanks so much Ethel M for such a fun and knowledge gaining experience.
