Spices, flour, rice, bread, vegan cheese, kitchen products, and sustainable packaging. Easy parking out front, incredibly friendly staff, and super clear store. I could get all my stuff from Vons but the quality and packaging and the lack of a community feel leaves a lot to be desired. It's nice that you can go in, bring your own containers, measure what you need, and check out. Very well designed system.

This place is awesome. I hate plastic packaging, so I'm already a huge fan of their concept, but the employees were also very patient about the extensive time it took for my toddler to insist I name basically everything they had in stock. Today was my first time here, and we will definitely be returning frequently. Less importantly, my toddler's verdict was that it was fun.

I love this place. I live far from here so my friends and I plan to go together to make a fun experience out of it. What a beautiful business to help the earth that way. You can find anything from gifts for new babies, household cleaning products AND food. The staff are very nice and knowledgeable. I'm so glad this business exists in a world that needs so much TLC. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR YOUR DAILY SHOPPING NEEDS. TAKE YOUR OWN CONTAINERS.

This store is SO INCREDIBLE!! YOU HAVE TO GO CHECK IT OUT!!!we consume far too many plastics that just fill the landfills and the oceans for literally centuries to come bc they are not biodegradable. If you care anything at all about this earth we are so blessed to have the opportunity for assistance, given to us by this cool store, to do our part by consuming less plastic in our daily lives. Shopping at this store is def a start!! It is so incredibly innovative with such an amazing concept that we should all get on board with! They even produce their own freshly squeezed milk every week (oat milk and almond I think?)! How cool is that?! Oh and they provide different sized glasssware to put your food item in for a small price or of course you can bring your own or they actually have a section of donated glass jars that people bring you that you can take for free!! Love love this store!!

So happy this has opened. Not a big store but fairly good array of items for the size. And most notably they have some harder to find unpackaged items like tofu, milk, olives, pickles and such. A good addition to the neighborhood and she tries to source from local vendors, which is always a huge plus.

New to the area. Love buying my laundry sheets here! Will aim to start buying more of my items from this location. Staff are friendly and helpful too!

They have so many eco friendly, sustainable options. My favorite being that they have a machine you can make fresh nut butter with! Cashew, Peanut and Almond. Amazing. Came in for spices today, will be back for one of everything 😂

If you are ever missing ingredients and are local, COME HERE! If you have insisted bottles or containers send them here! What I have reduced from my cabinet, they reuse! I had so many glass jars and bottles they loved them. Staff are very nice and informative. They also take people who have snap benefits for groceries so if you're looking for something with good quality, fret no more you can get really good quality pasta, herbs, spices and oils as well as freshly baked bread at fair price! They aren't like big chains stores so do not expect them to have everything. Small business owned, come and support your local mini grocery mart!

Only found out about this business last month and unfortunately they are to shut down next month. Made my first trip intending to overspend as my way of support, but disappointed to find no organic foods/spices. I imagine the owners are good people with a good cause, but that alone doesn't ensure survival at this location. I've been a 30-year supporter of organic foods, CSA's, and the local food movement, yet I'm grateful my Von's now carry crunchy organic peanut butter.

Absolutely love having a package-free shop in Long Beach, especially with the limited grocery stores in DTLB. I came in for the bread and bought the baguette for $6 - the shop employee let me know that it was just delivered earlier that day, but if it was a day old, it'd be 25% off. (Always good to know.) They have other things too, e.g., vegan cheeses, tofu (on certain days), pickles, pantry goods, etc. - I'll have to come back for that another day, but certain a worthwhile stop if you're in the area. Bonus points for sourcing za'atar from Palestine! (The spices are from Burlap & Barrel: https://www.burlapandbarrel.com/.) Massive shout-out to the awesome employee who looked up where the za'atar was sourced from for me when I asked, confirming it was Palestinian - they were so kind and I truly appreciate it! (I'm so sorry I didn't catch their name - bad habit on my part.) Pro-tip: If you have Tupperware, take-out containers, glass jars, etc., but don't know what to do with them and don't want to simply throw them out, bring them here! They clean and sanitise them, and then make it avaliable in-store (for free) for anyone who may not have brougth their own containers. I love, love, love this concept and am already putting aside all the containers I no longer need but have accumulated.

ethikli has become my new favorite store to shop in. i first stepped foot into it a few months ago after walking outside a coffee shops that's located right next to it. the inside is extremely clean and everything is placed neatly. there's tons of spices, self care material, soaps, nuts, beans, and everything you can imagine. the first time i came i absolutely fell in love with the almond butter, there's also peanut and cashew putter that you're able to manually make with their machine. the way the store works is you bring a bunch of clean empty jars (or they have some for sell & some free jars as well that were donated) and you weigh it and place a sort of magnetic chip on it. once you've weighed all your containers you start filling it with anything in the store and weigh it again to pay in the front. it's so refreshing to see plastic free stores becoming normalized and this is exactly the place to start your process in. 10/10 my favorite store so far !!!

Just love pressing my tasty almond butter and grabbing a few loaves of sourdough bread every few weeks. Plus the friendly smiles greeting you when you walk in is a total plus.

I love coming here to get some of my groceries as I also hit up the farmers market. The service is on point every time as it's such a good vibe in there. They're always friendly and willing to help with anything I need. I love being able to help the environment and support my local business too. Shoutout to Lex and Mad Topp!!

I am so IN LOVE with this store! I've committed to producing less waste and trash and Ethikly helps me do that. I've read other reviews on here about some of the products being on the expensive side, but MANY of your day to day items are very inexpensive such as beans, rice, oil, spices, lentils, chia seeds, flax seeds, etc. If you're committed to producing less waste, then simply commit to the affordable day to day items at Ethikly... even switching a couple of your day to day items to package free can make a big difference on the planet. BIG thanks to Katy for creating this gem of a resource in our community. I'm a weekly shopper here and always will be! I can't praise this store highly enough! Oh, and you MUST try the the Rosemary & Garlic Sprouted Almonds, the Garlic Cashews, and the Spicy Pickles!!!! Those 3 I buy every time I shop as they are DELISH and my favorites.

How do we get more Ethiklis out there in the world? I'm so glad this place exists - thank you Katy et al. We come here regularly for polenta, popcorn, granola, maple syrup, cocoa and more! Since coming, we've reduced our trash quite a bit and have saved money refilling instead of buying new. There are some things that still makes more sense to get from the grocery store- like rice- our house buys rice in bulk so it makes sense for us to keep doing that and it's more cost effective. But for lots of other things, spices, gluten free pasta etc, it's great to come here! We appreciate this store so much and just want to see more of this "ethik" out there.

I'm so glad this place exists in the neighborhood. They have vegan dips, cheeses, and homemade pickles. I go there mostly for these items and to fill up my spice jars. I also love their fresh baked break in the window. The last two times I bought dry goods from the bin, however, they were stale. Cashews, sesame sticks, other snacks. I get it because we live near the beach, and the bins are not air tight because of self-service, but I was bummed.

Katy's place is clean, so well put together, and reasonably priced! She clearly has personal connections with a lot of the vendors and is ready with recommendations for your refills :) The shop even has a plant tower and she's in the works of providing fresh herbs for purchase. Cannot recommend enough & wish I lived closer.

I'm so lucky to have a local, convenient place to shop package-free that gives back to its community. We love Ethikli and often stop in here before going to a grocery store to save on plastic whenever we can. I'm dangerously addicted to their Rosemary Garlic Sprouted Almonds & often find my spices and dry baking goods here for fairly cheap. Some things can be a bit pricey, but overall it is a fair deal. It's also one of the only places that I can find vegan white chocolate in-store. Katie is always so friendly and helpful, I'm happy to support her business which she always keeps clean, well stocked, and organized.

I live in the area and have seen the signs of this place opening for a while. One day passing by I saw that it's was opened. Stepping in you walk into a visually appealing shop. It's extremely clean and organized. Then you are greeted by the nicest ladies who are eager to help you and passionate about bringing fresh organic and vegan products. From fresh spices, home cleaning products, bread, pickles and even tofu! Did I mention my favorite part....fresh made nut butter!? Yes, fresh nut butter!! Can't have peanuts? No problem! They have cashew and almond butter!!! I eat it with a spoon but we won't tell!!

Store has a very good concept. It's very clean and organized. There just really isn't a lot to pick from. They seem like they really want to help the community with sliding scale and free containers. Unfortunately it's no where near a place where you can do all of your shopping. Fun experience but wouldn't return .

I'm amazed that I've been buying all of this in packages at the grocery store when I could just go to a place like this and bring all of my own containers, and it's affordable! Chia seeds, dish and hand soap and laundry soap are my regulars but I always end up with a couple other essentials. So glad they opened close enough to ride my bike. The staff is lovely and the the layout of the shop makes it easy to get what I need. I also LOVE that I can bring my excess empty containers and reusable bags there and I know that they go to others who need them.

An absolutely beautiful shop with awesome goods! Was able to pick up some sustainable cleaning supplies and was so impressed by the selection. There was a strong community feeling and I look forward to coming back to fill up on snacks and cooking ingredients, all in a sustainable and ethically sourced way! So excited this shop is here!!

Wow what a find! I was having lunch next door at Ahmisa and walked into this gem of a store! They carry such a variety of items here but my favorite finds were the monk sugar, various salts, various oils for cooking, personal hygiene products, bamboo straws, AND they also have a machine that makes various nut butters!! The ladies who were onsite were incredibly helpful and so hospitable. It is truly community vibes here. I'll definitely be back with my own containers next time (though they have bags and some jars for free or for sale too)!

This is an excellent store to find clean, bulk cooking ingredients. Ever suddenly realize that grocery stores are 50% junk food now? Imagine if you cut the junk and pre-cooked food and just got what you needed. Everything is vegan, fresh, affordable.
