I must say the food and the service here is very good! I was a little concerned by other reviews as to how long the food would take to arrive as I am on my lunch break! But the food arrive quickly! I had the veggie platter! As I am on the Daniel fast til good Friday, it was very good! I will be bring my family here to try it our really soon! Come on out to try it! You will enjoy it!

I really wanted to rate this place well because the food was good, but the truth is it too us over 1 hour to get food after ordering. I don't think it was the waiters fault, because there was only one waiter/bartender for maybe 15 people there. The manager should just have more staffed. I enjoyed the meal but won't be returning

When we entered the restaurant we were so excited to finally try Ethiopian food, especially after hearing this place was good. However our experience was very disappointing. We waited for what seemed like an hour to finally be served. We thought they were closing, there was barely anyone there and we arrived at 9pm. The food took more than an hour to come out and was served cold. I can’t understand how food that takes an hour can be cold. Even the rice I ordered to warm it up was cold. We were waiting to get the waitress’s attention to tell her and she was no where to be found. It took multiple attempts to get the attention of another waitress to try to solve our issue. Both waitresses were telling us different things towards how the food should be prepared. The service seemed like it was being performed by amateurs. She reported to our waitress and she repeatedly tried to apologize as if it could be made better. I was thinking they wouldn’t charge us for the cold food and they did! I mean I am African and have grew up having African food and it couldn’t even compare. If you do not know anything about Ethiopian food DO NOT COME HERE! It seemed like only the Ethiopians were being serviced. I mean the place wasn’t even busy. Very mad that the owner has the audacity to respond to terrible comments and tell them to come back. What I need is a refund and most importantly this needs to be resolved within the establishment. This was the first time I didn’t tip because the service and the food was that bad. I NEVER write reviews but this needs to be called out! If I could give this place zero stars I would!!! **UPDATE Just when things seemed to be terrible they took a turn for the worse. I just realized after writing this review I was overcharged for the “side of rice” I ordered; as an entree. I called the restaurant and the owner wanted me to drive to receive my money back, instead of taking matters into their hands and just calling back my credit card company or even canceling the order and redoing it. PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!Angry can’t even describe my emotions. After speaking with the owner and telling them the terrible reviews I wrote on both yelp and google I was told “that’s fine.” How is disappointing your customers fine?

Nice small kinda out of the way. Good for date day/night. Drinks are poured heavy handed, but who's complaining about that? Right! The food is excellent. I like the vegetarian combo with injera. Every now and then I like to do something totally different. This was a pleasant surprise. Best kept secret in Norrh Dallas.

We love trying new foods. We've heard great things about Ethiopian cuisine, and Ibex didn't disappoint. Lots of wonderful flavors and spices.

This was the best Ethiopian I have had off the continent of Africa! Really good food and great service! We went for lunch on a Sunday during all this COVID nonsense so unfortunately for them they were not real busy. The coffee after was authentic from the roasting to the brewing and very good! After all that she did not even charge us for the coffee because it was our first time there!

Great takeout through DoorDash. Ordered the veggie combo platter. Some of the injera was a little hard but altogether everything was very fresh and delicious. There was a hot sauce in one of the sides that was super spicy and I don't remember seeing any warnings. Definitely something that would not be ideal for those sensitive to spicy hot foods but I didn't mind it myself. Lots of injera and even extra on the side. I loved everything that I ate and will be ordering from Ibex again soon!

Customer service is nonexistent. Staff is untrained, unprofessional. Our experience here went downhill with every passing minute. We were the first ones to arrive for lunch. It took a while for them to take our order. The menu on the website didn't match the menu at the restaurant. Waitress seemed confused when I asked about the appetizers listed on the website. As we were the first ones there, our food arrived in ten minutes. Our vegetarian platter was definitely flavorful, the different kinds of lentil stews were well made BUT Atakilt Wat, the cabbage, carrot, potato side dish was very close to going bad, definitely not fresh. I mentioned that to our waitress and she said, 'Oh okay, I will let them know'. No apologies. We finished our meal and had to wait really long for the check. When it did arrive, the prices were higher than what was shown on the menu. We brought this to our waitress's notice and she mentioned about some event that happened two weeks ago for which the prices were higher. Who needs two weeks to reset the prices on the computer system? The staff had a phone call, probably with the owner on how to get it right. The person in charge is expected to give the staff some easy work-around? Not the case here, the phone call went on for 15 minutes. All this while, we were waiting(with a 3 year old who was getting restless) to pay and get out. With a right attitude, proper training and professionalism this business could do SO much better.

Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Desta much better , nicer , happier people . Food here was good however service is TERRIBLE Lady server was unbelievably rude she didn't greet up bring us water say anything it was just crazy the service we received as black people paying our hard earned money to receive mean bad service I always support black business anywhere I go but service like this presents a challenge We came in respectful nice & ready to eat meanwhile food took over an hour and we were the only customers ridiculous Once she brings the food it's tasty but cold she drops off food and never comes back to ask how it is or anything ! I had to hunt this lady down just to ask for the check , do better !

Ordered DoorDash. They are pretty far away but the food cane still hot and fresh. They were great portion sizes and it was great to bring the experience home while we are "quarantined". There are very few Ethiopian restaurants that are listed around for delivery. My craving was definitely satisfied.

If you're a fan of kitfo you should definitely come here and try the Ibex kitfo. It is delicious!!

As an Ethiopian, I've tried great Ethiopian food and had many experiences with restaurants. I live close to this restaurant and have been here about 3 times in 7 years. Their service has always lacked a little for me and it's unfortunate. If seems like they are always understaffed, which I get on certain days but that needs to change. Our waitress was literally working the floor and the bar by herself and there were about 5 full tables and some friends at the bar. It took about 15 mins to get her to bring our check. The food was pretty good. We ordered 2 orders of the ribs (beef), leb-leb kitfo (minced meat cooked medium with butter and spices), gomen (spinach) and alicha wet (for lack of better explanation, it's like yellow curry with beef that's not spicy .) I loved the ribs the most and each order comes with 2 ribs. It's served sizzling hot and made to order. It tastes so good and very moist. That's probably the best thing about this restaurant compared to the others. Injera was obviously served with the order and it was good. The restaurant has a small stage for performers and stays open late on weekends. They usually have Ethiopian bands come and perform and the restaurant turns into a club-ish vibe. Enjoyed my experience overall.

the waitresses were basically absent , we came in and no one greeted us , when we finally sat down after 10 minutes it took 20 minutes for a waitress to come to us , and she did NOT ask me how i was doing, what if i wanted to kill myself tonight :( , then when we ordered it took almost fOURTY FIVE minutes for our food to come out. DO not recommend

Food was ordered through Door Dash, it took almost 20 minutes to confirm the order, another 20 to prepare it, then another 15 to arrive at my door. I ordered the beef tibs, with extra spice and peppers. Beef tips had absolutely no spice or peppers and they were saturated in cooking oil. Food was so bland I threw it away after a few bites. Oh, they give extra injera bread so that's a plus. Only reason for 2 stars.

My go to Ethiopian place! I love their beef tibs! And I love how they put salad on the side. I ordered delivery via this app and the food was still very fresh and hot.

We love Ethiopian cuisine. Beware and Never consider this place. More servers than guests and terrible service. After an hour sitting here and waiting.....waters to us and a beer. Our food comes out in a to-go bag? Really? And incorrect. Worst part is the manager / owner Ashe handled this unfortunate experience in the worst possible way. His excuse was the server was new on the job and does not understand any English. He refused to credit our credit card charges of $41.10 with the excuse that his restaurant lost food (while admitting they did the wrong order) and later rudely called me, angry about our honest review on Yelp. This is precisely why customer reviews are made and read.....To share consistent good and not so great experiences with a competitive consumer market. Do not waste any time or dollars here. There are several other excellent Ethiopian choices within the same block.

This is the best Ethiopian restaurant in Dallas. I always find my way back here. I've tried many other places but no where beats this place. They have great customer service. The food speaks for itself.

Server was nice but super slow. It was early and not packed at all. I thought maybe they went out to kill the cow for my ZilZil tibs. That said the gomen and misir wot were really good. The ZilZil tibs were overcooked so were chewy but the flavor was good. I just had to chew on it like jerky.

Wow. That's all I can say. We tried several times to order - our server clearly didn't understand English so despite their serving us Sambusa and a few beers while we were waiting, they somehow got it in their head that we wanted our order to go.??? Which added another 10 Min to a 45 min wait for food. I have eaten at a lot of Ethiopian restaurants and this one leaves little to be desired. Stay away. There are 3 or 4 other options in the immediate area better than Ibex.

I can't say enough about the juicy beg tibis with the mulmul bread...it was to die for. In one week, I was there three times for the same tibs. We have eaten at the Ibex Restaurant on several occasions over the last 4-5 years. We have always found the food to be excellent, while the service has frequently been on the slow side. When we talk to our Ethiopian friends about the best Ethiopian restaurant in Dallas, they usually agree that Ibex is at the top of the list. So we were very surprised earlier today, to read about all the recent bad reviews. In spite of them, we decided to eat there tonight. As we expected, the food was outstanding, while the service was a little slow at spots. However, while we were eating, there were two tables in the bar area, visible to everyone in the restaurant, and filled with very drunk patrons. These patrons were obviously drunk, they were obnoxiously loud and they were very lewdly groping and grinding against each other. The management saw what was going on and did nothing to stop it. Along with the too loud music, it made what should have been a very enjoyable meal an awful experience. There are lots of good Ethiopian restaurants in Dallas. No need to subject ourselves to this kind of public lewdness.

Very long wait to get food. Got a $36 meat veggies combo. Menu said it serves 3-4 people but we barley got couple of injera pieces! Asked for extra injera bread and never got it...We had no veggies on that plate and beef tips were chewy cardboard pieces! Very disappointed! Wasted my money here!

My fiancé and I LOVE this place!! The quality and taste of the food is amazing! The service is great! The owner and his wife are super sweet and professional!! We have made Ibex a regular date night spot and are even going to have them cater our wedding. Two thumbs up!!

Overall: I don't know what these other people were eating but i'd definitely wish i had what they had. I read the reviews came, saw ate, smelled and didn't enjoy a 4/5 star review like the others. Nonetheless, i wasn't overly impressed with this restaurant. Ambience: The first issue is that it's really hard to find. We passed desta several times. If you did you went too far. They really need to turn on their restaurant sign. The sign that leads you in also points you to the back of some office building. What you really need to do is go forward disregard the arrow and then make a right. There's a bar as you enter and around the corner is the dining area where a stage and two tv's lie above. Along the window, there are also interesting tables basket type tables for people to sit. Food: Anyways, the food. The menu is rather interesting. We just went with the combo. We picked #1 Doro Wot a chicken dish that came with a hard boiled egg., #2 Ye-Beg Wot a lamb stew, #6 Ye-Awazé Tibs, a cubed beef dish marinated with chiles ginger, #20 Daily Assorted Ethiopian Veggie Combo as per the waitresses recommendation. I've only had Ethiopian food one other time in chicago at 2010 tastefest and it was amazing lamb dish; thus, i was excited to eat lamb. We also ordered an extra lamb dish, Ibex Tibes (11), and tried this special honey wine that Natasha recommended because she's have had ethiopian food before. The wine is called, "eta". It comes poured in these strange glasses. They look like small flower vases almost. A small opening and a wide bottom. As the food arrive, it came in a large metal stainless steel round dish. It was really interesting. The injera, this spongey yellowish brown pancake, was placed on the bottom of the food. I found it unique as it was used as a vessel for the food. If you haven't had Ethiopian food, you use no utensils and you just pick with the injera. We quickly discover we ordered too much food. The combo a huge portions of various different things. It took us a while to discover that the dark colored thing in the middle was chicken. The first thing i tried was the vegetable dish. The chopped collard greens had a bright taste but strong veggie after taste. It tasted alright. Bland and lacked seasoning. The Lamb stew had to been my favorite. The flavors were delicious. It was savory, salty but a little chewy. The cubed beef dish and the chicken dish were both overseasoned. The beef dish had nice flavors of cardamom, and a little sweetness in the chiles; but it totally overpowered my pallete. I wasn't able to taste anything else for a while. Service: The service was mediocre. She was attentive and helpful regarding menu selection but often times absent afterwards. After eating, i was quite concerned with cleanliness of the kitchen. There were drippings on the wall as the kitchen door swang open. Thus, concluding that i probably won't go back again. I've watched too many kitchen nightmare and restaurant impossible shows to know that that's a sign of a larger problem.

Food came with too much salt and had to return it after waitress apologie's and tolled me she will have the cook make another. Funny thing is waitress had to pick meat ate it in front of me to see if my complaint was legitimate. how dare she ate my food...... Disrespectful. Later she brought the same cold plate with out changing anything or replacing the food. I called her told her what I felt. So my only option was to return the food that the waitress brought and asked for my bill, few minutes later the cook came with the same plate argued with me about her cooking and food. When I refused to eat it she cursed at me and went back to kitchen. Never felt disrespected by any one in my life like I was disrespected today. I will never ever go back their.

My wife and I love Ethiopian cuisine, and Ibex is as good as it gets. We have tried the other Ethiopian restaurants in the area, and we prefer Ibex over them for the quantity, quality of ingredients and the overall taste. We LOVE their veggie platter and the chicken doro wot, which has a spicy kick to it, but not overwhelming. The service is slow, there is almost always one server for multiple patrons, and it takes forever to get your order, your check and you need to flag down the waitress multiple times. I would have probably dinged them one star for their service, but the food more than makes up for it IMO. We always come back to Ibex every few weeks and I hope this business flourishes and serves the community for years to come.

The best Ethiopian food in Dallas. Tried all the others in the area but we keep coming back to IBEX. All the food here is done very well and authentic. The kitfo is spot on. The Goden Tibs is a real treat, a whole beef rib deep fried to deliciousness. The waitress and bartender are very nice and accommodating. There is also a patio where you can order hookah and smoke and drink.

This place is great!! I always come here with my friends, the food is amazing!! I highly recommend it. We always get the veggie platter with the fried fish.

Website and sign on the door indicates they are open late until 11:30. Arrived at 9:30 and we were denied service. Simple fix yet frustrating. Just update your hours .

This is by far the best Ethiopian food I have enjoyed in my traveled over the last three years of travel between San Antonio, Dallas, and DC. The owner was a gracious host and we have enjoyed every visit!

Went for lunch, not a ton of options but it was my first time eating Ethiopian food, so not sure if that's just normal. Either way, I had the lamb and my friend had the beef. I enjoyed it and there was enough to take home for later. The lamb was a little tough but very flavorful.

This place is excellent. The flavor is superb, and the service friendly and professional. I had lamb and beef, both very tender with excellent flavor. The owner served us and made sure we were well taken care of. They also have multiple televisions and a large projector and a good crowd that show for sporting events. I will be back!

The level of unprofessionalism is unprecedented. The customer service is horrible! They don't serve you on time and they don't take good care of you. We waited and waited only to find that we weren't served because they thought we were gone. Would not recommend. Thank you.

I've tried a few Ethiopian restaurants, but this one had the best flavors and most consistency. The service is excellent and people very friendly. I shared the kitfo and vegetarian combo with my mom tonight. The server explained how saris was prepared and was most helpful and understanding that this was an experience for us. I'll keep coming back for more!

The first star is lost because this is the second best Ethiopian I've had in Dallas (behind Arif Cafe). The second star is lost because the service is slow and inattentive. It was a busy night, and our table was the only non-Ethiopians (which is always a good sign).

I've been going here 9 years and it has been going downhill WITHOUT A DOUBT. Tonight I was humiliated. My husband and I went here in our first date. I took him back here for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We waited 25 minutes for someone to ask us for our drinks. We ordered a bottle of wine and it had a sparkler! We had pictures taken and it was such a surprise. We waited a long time but were so excited, and then the owner asked if we were driving. We said we were, and he asked us if it was a smart idea to drink a whole bottle. We looked at each other puzzled and said 1 glass would be fine. We never got that glass. We had wine with fireworks brought to us and then we're shamed. When he brought us our food I asked if we could even have a glass of water. He asked, "ice water?" And we said yes. We didn't drink before we came here, and we were cut off before we ever drank. It was so strange. Someone's having a birthday party here and they're screaming and we can't have a glass of wine for our anniversary? I've been waiting 15 minutes for my card back. I've been coming here 9 years and I've never been so insulted. I usually like the choice platter because you get a mix of ensuring. Tonight I wanted the food I usually see sizzling and it was greasy. The chairs are stained and there's only one waitress for the entire restaurant. We're going to House of Sheba next time. I can't explain how much this place has gone downhill. I can't wait to leave here to get a beer. I miss the old waitress. What a disappointment. I've always forgiven their slow service and unprofessional attitude but tonight was too far. I'm never coming here again. Other places have better reviews. Avoid this place. They've been saying they are out of honey wine every time I've come here the past 3 YEARS. Take it off the menu.

Went here with a group of friends on a Thursday evening. The place was not crowded. The food was generally good but the service was awful. We arrived about 6:30. The server didn't take our order until about half an hour later. Had to ask repeatedly for refills on water and drinks. Several things on the menu were not available. She had to come back several times to verify what people ordered. Then finally our meals started coming out-- one by one over the course of nearly 45 minutes. Out of politeness some in our group waited until all were served before they began eating and by then the food was cold. What would it have been like if it were crowded? I would not come back here by choice. There are plenty of better Ethiopian places in Dallas.

My friends urged to take me to Ethiopian last night. Sure, I'm game. Supposedly there are plenty of veggie options, and their ten year old had a hankering for it. Sure why not? And so begins my review: "Six Big Problems with Ibex Ethiopian Cuisine" -- We arrive at Ibex and encounter problem number one; Where's the front door? The restaurant exterior is gray stucco, with white vertical blinds closed, covering the windows. There is minimal signage on the outside, and absolutely nothing to indicate which of the many doors is the main entrance. This stumped us for longer than it needed to, but we eventually found out which door was the main entrance after a little trial-and-error. We walked in and found the restaurant itself is bare, albeit minimalistically trendy. We instantly encounter problem number two: It was way too dark inside. The blinds were drawn and there were almost no interior lights on. I wasn't sure if the owners were trying to conserve energy, or this was some cultural thing. The hostess / waitress showed us to our table. Problem three, kind of: The chairs of our table were tucked into the corners of the table. Were we supposed to sit at each corner of the square table? This confused us for a second and wondered again is there was something cultural we were missing. We decided to pull out the chair and sit normally at the table. We were handed menus by the hostess/waitress who had a mood-killing peculiar frown on her face. She didn't speak any English that we could decipher, but just nodding and saying "yes" to whatever she uttered seem to keep her happy. Problem four: Reading the menus was another issue. My eyes usually do very good in low light, but in this place I had to hold the menu inches from my face to see the words on it. The overly-cursived font on for the menu further complicated the reading process. Luckily, there were only two vegetarian dishes on the menu, so it was easy to pick what we were going to try. Eventually the food came out on one large metal platter; Ethiopian, if you've never tried it before, is often served without utensils. You eat the food via a pancake-like bread called injera. Tear off some injera, and pinch a scoop of food from the large plate. Interesting and fun, and overall I really liked the taste of it all. Injera is interesting, it's like a spongy pancake that was cooked only on one side. The veggie concoctions on the dish were interesting as well, reminding me of Middle Eastern and Indian flavors. The food was definitely the highlight of the night. We ordered perhaps too little, and quickly devoured the communal meal. Then we arrived at problem five: We ordered sambousa (fried pockets of spiced lentils), and after a few minutes the waitress emerged stating the kitchen was "done" and wouldn't be making any more sambousas that night (and it was hours before closing). So we all left still a little hungry, scratching our heads wondering why they didn't want to make our order of sambousas. I left not particularly liking this strange restaurant, but really wanting to try Ethiopian again sometime soon, somewhere else. Last but not least, I have to mention my final problem number six with Ibex: The phony-baloney Yelp raves. This place is being stupidly obvious trumping up their review average. There's an unreasonably very high average of "no friend, one review" users that are giving this place five stars. Beware. In fact, just take my advice and just try somewhere else for Ethiopian.

This was one of the most exquisite and enjoyable meals I've had in a while. I've always loved diverse cuisines, especially those stemming from the east, but this meal single-handedly outshone all of my recent trips to Thai and Indian restaurants. And it's not just the novelty of eating Ethiopian food for only the 3rd time in life... this meal was just extraordinary all around. My wife and I tried the Ibex combo, which lets you sample 4 different dishes from the menu. We tried the Doro Wot (chicken), Ya-Beg Wot (lamb), Ye-Awaze Tibs (beef), and the Assorted Ethiopian Veggie dish. All were seasoned well, with delicious sauces. The Injera was wonderful and fun to eat with (no forks, people!). Something about the flavors mixed with the Injera made it impossible to stop eating. Ibex is a classy joint. The interior is clean and the decor is fitting. But, what really makes it classy is the hospitality of the servers, not to mention the owner who came by to check on us and make sure the food was to our liking. This is one of those rare places that has my loyalty after one visit. I can't wait to go back to Dallas to experience those compelling flavors again.

Been here three times and has been the best Ethiopian restaurant I've been to in Dallas. I haven't had good Ethiopian food in Texas until I came here. The restaurant is a open, large space with a bar. Admittedly, the space is a little hard to find sometimes. The place looks closed and its located in what looks like an empty plaza or office space. I've usually had the Veggie Combo with one meat. I had the Kitfo and tibes in beef and lamb. All are very good, especially the Veggie combo which came out with maybe around 7 different side dishes? I may be wrong though. Also there is an option to get a complimentary fried whole fish with the veggie combo. The service is quick. The owner is also very nice and has greeted us and asked us how we were doing. Sometimes the waitresses were a little lost for translation, but the owner seemed to always help out with that and make sure our stay is good. He would order refills for us or make sure we're getting what we wanted. This place is a gem!

This review is based on one visit (April 2011). What I tried: Doro Wat, Regular Kitfo (slightly cooked), Gomen Be Siga (collard greens and beef), Vegetarian Combo, Whole Fried Fish, Ye-Beg Wot (lamb stew) Tasting Notes: The Doro Wat was solid, as was the Kitfo. I had never tried the Gomen Be Siga, and I think it was my favorite dish-- mostly because I really like collard greens. I also really liked the whole fried fish- the skin was crunchy and the flesh moist. Ingera was light and spongy. It was not as sour as other places I've been to, which I enjoyed. Not sure if that is more authentic or not, but nevertheless I prefer it that way. I wish the food was slightly spicier as I am used to having, but they might have downplayed the spice since there were no Ethiopians among us (I know Korean and Sichuan restaurants do that). Ambience: There is a tea set set up in the middle of the restaurant- reminds of me of ancestral rites done in parts of Asia, but for all I know it could just be decoration. There is also a small stage, and a curvy painted wall of sorts in the back of the restaurant. When we went on a weekday around 7pm, there were not many patrons, but as the night got later more people came in. Service: friendly, and will make suggestions for you if you don't know what you want. Recommendation: This is one of the better Ethiopian restaurants I've been to. I can't say that anything really blew me away but I think every dish I had was solid. If you like your Ethiopian food spicy I think you should make that clear to them when you order.

The food is just excellent and the atmosphere is great. My family and I had the combo platter which is good for those that have never had Ethiopian food. There is a vegetarian menu and a good drink menu. I highly recommend the honey wine which is extremely tasty. Afterwards, we sat outside and the wife and I had hooka. Overall, the experience and the people were great. We will be going back to this place.

This use to be a mexican restauran - - nice conversion. My buddy is an avid visitor of this place. He's dragged me around to several other ethopian joints and this one did not disappoint. It's a great spot for us to grab lunch. Instead of telling you things I don't keep track of (like food on the menu), I'll spend my time saying that if you either like and/or wanting to try Ethopian cuisine, its worth the trip. Great space for large groups.

Only dine in in the day time when the real (more experienced) cook is there because if you go at night you will not get the same experience. I ordered the zig zag tibs and juicy tibs at night and the zig zag tibs had bone in it scraped in the meat the juicy tibs were dry and tasted like jerky meat it was horrible. I went back in the day time because their food pictures always look good online, needless to say it tasted better in the daytime but I prefer for my food to taste good whenever I visit an establishment.

We came here on a Saturday night and ready try an Ethiopian restaurant in the area we had never been to before. I tried using a Restaurant.com coupon but it was not accepted even though the purchase would have been over the required minimum of $15. Service is quiet slow as there were only a few people in the restaurant on that evening. I had to go to the counter to get someone to bring us menus. Since they would not accept the voucher we left and went to another restaurant. I'm not sure id want to return since they would not honour a voucher that was valid and that they authorised to be sold on a third party website.

Worst service, okay food. After waiting for over an hour since arriving, we got the "very okay-ish" food. Most of the vegetables had a distinct taste of cardamom which was over powering the entire food. Waiters were irresponsive and would not take to take the orders. Even the water was served like after 15 minutes.

Not cheap, but the food is great. And there's nothing that beats sharing the large platters of spicy delicacies with laughing members of the extended family, eating traditionally with your right hand. The wait staff are beyond helpful. The chef actually came out of the kitchen to interview us personally, making sure how we wanted the food prepared (degree of spiciness, etc.). It was a great destination for our reunion after being apart for almost 2 years.

Service was terrible... waited on our food for an hour. People who got there after us got their food 10 mins after they sat down. After waiting so long we thought the food would AT LEAST be fresh but it wasn't. Won't be back anytime soon.

My wife and I love ethiopian food, and tried IBEX this weekend. Great food, good ambience and wonderful service! We will be back!
