We are staying about 25mins drive with my son who lives out here, he suggested that we visit as it had some great displays of times on by and the methods that people used many years ago. The village is well presented and crosses a small river a number of times. There are displays that are powered by the river and shows how the stream was the engine for a lot of the basic tools being used. The is a restaurant in the village called the Bulgarian restaurant, have down a separate review needless to say we loved it. There are a number of crafts on display, poetry, wood carving, traditional deserts and many more. If you have visited The Weald & Down village well this is the Bulgarian equivalent in a smaller but very picturesque valley. It’s about 30 mins from Gabravo so you should be able to find it.

Wonderful afternoon in the village. Busy and peaceful at the same time. This place can be a great family day away or perfect historical walk.

A unique and well maintained open museum. I visited it as a child, and now, 40 years later it still is attractive. We tried sweets, Turkish coffee, and multiple other treats. The newly renovated central building had an amazing private collection. I bought a true leather belt made custom for me. The combination of history, artizan makers, old buildings, and atmosphere offers something for everyone. Highly recommend.

Really great experience to go and visit there! It costs 10 leva per person and it's totally worth it! Parking is available and for free

This is one of the most amazing places someone can learn for the traditional way of life of our people. I strongly recommend everyone to bring their children, the whole family in fact.

This is a must-visit-place while in Bulgaria and near city of Gabrovo. Interesting place with many historical tools and techniques used in the Balkans a while ago. There are well made signs and videos, but it was pity that almost no one was in the workshops showing something. The entrance is 10 leva per person which is 5 euro. You can enjoy old-fashion desserts, cafe on sand and many other interesting traditional foods.
